App brought in spam? Says, "Zombie Farm Free!"
At the risk of sounding ignorant ... Anyone else ever have this happen? I downloaded a bunch of apps from the marketplace and now I keep getting these notifications with a green star, for example, "Get the #1 Game Zombie Farm Free!" Tap to find out more! (opt out at ...)" and of course the opt-out link doesn't appear on my screen.

For future reference, the newest, most dastardly ad feature of some apps is Airpush, which sends ads to your notification bar. To find out which apps on your phone may have this "feature", you can use this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.denper.addonsdetector&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5kZW5wZXIuYWRkb25zZGV0ZWN0b3IiXQ.., and then, if you find any that are doing this, install this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.airpush.optoutapp&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5haXJwdXNoLm9wdG91dGFwcCJd and run it to permanently opt out.
I think this whole Airpush thing is a load of garbage, but at least they give you a way out of it.

So I got my Mac World e-mail, it talked about the free apps from MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), so I downloaded them, in the comments section of the article someone that didn't like them said there was no need as iWork was free and no subscription needed.
Anyway, after letting the ad for MS 360 play out, word opened, but it wouldn't let me access my skydrive, now called onedrive, it was grayed out and needed the 360 subscription, needless to say I deleted all of the office apps and based on the comments section of the article I went back to the app store to get iWork.
They are not free, each app is $9.99, according to the app store, so tell me is there something I'm missing, there were others saying it was free, so what is the truth here?
Currently I use Textilus for creating documents, well one or two, writing on the ipad is horrible, and it still doesn't recognize my printer or any documents I save in Textilus. I have to save the page as a picture, open up the Epson app, select photos, and print.
I was hoping something useful would be available, but it looks like that's not going to happen.Beginning last September (I beleive) the three iWorks app are free only for qualifying newly purchased devices (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5913)
And yes, on the iPad, MS office apps can only be used to read files unless you have an Office 365 subscription.
Can't respnd to what Textilus does or doesn't do when it comes to printing. That might be a question for the app vendor. -

if you've purchased anything else during the period it might appear as if it's related to Zombie Farm (Apples receipts are a bit hard to read to be honest.)
If this is indeed not the case and you have indeed not purchased anything from us, yet have been charged 239 DKK, there's obviously a big issue.
However, we're not in charge of the money handled in purchases, as Apple has chosen to be the only one controlling this.
As such you'll have to contact Apples support to get help with refunds.

Yes. You can set the payment method to "None" once you log into iTunes on your PC/Mac. I have it set up this way.

Ive downloaded some apps onto my pc yet only 1 has synced to my ipad, it says something about theres a problem with my billing, yet I purchased the 1 app I got for $20, but 1 free app and another paid, wont sync, i di have money in my account
Right click on your iPad's name in the iTunes app on your computer and choose to transfer purchases. That should transfer anything that you have bought with the App Store app on the iPad to the iTunes app on your computer.

If so then you've probably received a temporary store holding charge, which should disappear within a few days : holding charges. Or have you made any in-app purchases within the app (what app is it) ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes (Store > View My Account), what shows under your purchase history ?

Mavericks is a free update - if you're seeing a charge on your account, that does sound like an error.
It's not uncommon for a $1 or so charge to show up on your account - this happens just to make sure you have a valid card on file. It will generally go away fairly quickly.

They are free if you have activated a new iOS 7 compatible device since 1st September 2013. When did you buy and activate your iPad and/or iPhone ? If on or after that date then try logging out of your account on that device by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in and see if it then shows as free on it

Recently I download as app from the CDC that was listed as free, but I had to obtain it by entering a payment method. Is this normal or was the CDC incorrect by saying it was free?
There's a way to make an apple ID without a credit card. But if you already have one...well, you already have one. Starting over from scratch would probably be more trouble than it's worth.
The logic flow seems to be the presumption that 'everyone' will eventually purchase something, so just start the account with a payment method, even if that payment method sits there unused for months/years. -
I have the iPhone 4S and I cannot get my apps to download. I will click free then install and then it will ask for my password. Once I enter my password correctly it will verify my password an then it won't do anything. what should I do?
I just went through this same process.... I changed my credit card, double checked billing info, changed my password, I restored my phone, but the misake I made was I kept restoring it from my back up.... Finally I went to Apple Store.. and sad to say that you have to do a restore, and DO NOT restore from back up.
I used Gmail so I didnt loose contacts or email.. but I did loose all my text messages and history of that.
So, I had the EXACT same problem and it was a software issue.. you have to restore your phone to factory settings and start all over.. BLOWS I know! -

ThanksYou can use iCloud with 10.7.5. You do not need to upgrade to Yosemite. You should provide a minimum of 15 GBs of free space or 10% of the hard drive's capacity, whichever is greater.
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.
