"APP Crash", but no "Continue Session" option on next start-up - Question

This happened (again) where 3.0 crashes with no "Continue Session" option when re-starting.  Is there a place to locate a recovery file and re-start with a continuance of that session?
I have to say it, but AA 3.0 is the WORST most prone to crash audio program I have ever used.  This has happened so many times where I have lost crucial progress on a project.....If a program is such that you have to save your work every two minutes to feel safe, that is NOT good. , As soon as I can, I am going for Pro Tools...there must be a reason it is the industry standard.

Sounds like some serious problems... Have you tried the Audition 3.0.1 update ?
I'm not sure where that recovery session file would be, but it would probably be something like %userprofile%\appdata\local\adobe\audition 3.0 or in some sub folder...
What are your system specs (32 or 64 bit OS, RAM, CPU, etc.)?
If you use any 3rd party effects then give a list of the ones you have installed and the ones you use most often...  Most of the time when people have trouble like you,  it turns out to be something like a VST effect or sometimes even a mouse driver (wouldn't have believed it myself if I didn't see it)...  But I'm sure someone can help you out if you just give a little more information.

  • App crashes but remains active in background

    I have an iPhone 5c with iOS 7.1.2, 16GB
The phone is less than 6 months old and I have 2.25 GB free still.
I have problems with one app, Astro Gold version 4.1.7, but no one else I know who has the app has the same problem.
Most of the app functions work fine.
However, there is one function where the app is used to calculate an event report over a chosen period of time (1 month, 6 months, 1 year, etc.)
The report is generated without a problem.
However, if I finger scroll too fast up and down the report, it crashes.  If I leave the report on the screen too long, it crashes.
Yet when I double click the home key, it shows the app is still open, and back to the screen where you select the report you wish to run.
It is almost like I am overtaxing the RAM.  But the same thing occurs if I have no other apps open, or even after I just reboot the iPhone
Under Accessibility options just about everything is off, but I tried turning on Reduce Motion to see if that would help (it doesn't).
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app.  I have updated it each time a new update is available.
I've talked to the app's programmer, and he is not aware of other users with the same problem, and my colleagues who have the app do not have this issue.
Can anyone give me a direction of where to start looking for a solution?
I have no problem with any other app.

Hi - having the same problem with PSE process not ending on exit. Have you had any luck in resolving the issue?
Any advice would be appreciated. TIA

  • Some apps crash but others work - HD has been repaired

Hi, I had error that HD needed to be repaired when I ran disk check in disk utility. I inserted the start up disk and repaired the HD. I then ran another check in disk utility and HD was repaired. Unfortunately, I still have some apps that will not run such as iTunes and iPhoto. Other apps like Firefox and Word run just fine. When I click on iTunes or iPhoto it bounces a few times then nothing. I have looked at the console output and it says that the program has crashed. I then go to view the files in the crash reported but it is empty. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to repair this or do the programs need to be reinstalled. Thank you!

Hi messnerm001, and a warm welcome to the forums!
They may need replacing, fixing the HD may or may not fox files, it just repairs where the OS thinks the files are and such.
Try this first, Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Reboot.
If the above fails, then it appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.

  • Apps crashing, but fix with iTunes...

Okay, I am not sure what is going on, but here it is exactly...
I download an app through the Appstore on the iPhone itself... after loading and then installing, it shows up fine on the screen, so I launch the App, it shows the splash screen for a split second then goes back to the home screen.
Will do it for every app, but when I connect it to the computer. I open iTunes, hit Store-Deauthorize Computer, then I sync it, go back up to Store-Authorize Computer, then I sync again with iTunes, the apps show up(sometimes in iTunes, I sometimes I have "Transfer Purchases," then I go back to the phone, launch the apps that were crashing, and they work perfectly.
This isn't horrible, but it is when you download an app, and have to do this with iTunes every single time.
Anyone know what I can do?
I have tried resetting the settings in the Settings Menu on the iPhone, I have rebooted, resynced, everything. The apps from the App Store will only work upon deauthorizing and reauthorizing.
    Thanks!

Just check to see in iTunes, if when the phone is connected that in the applications menu , sync applications and sync all are selected. These can often reset themselves after an update and restore.

  • WIred ethernet crashes but wireless continues OK

I have a Airport extreme that supports both a wireless network and also acts as a router for the wired ethernet in my home. Computers on the wired side often experience extreme slowdown or no internet service at all while the wireless side continues without problems. Set up is. Cable modem to Airport; airport to hub with several computers and a printer on the hub. All use DCHP settings. Does the hub model or brand matter? do the computers need to change to manual from DCHP? is the airport defective?
Usual way to resolve the issue is to hard reset the airport (and sometimes the cable modem- though I am not sure just airport reset would not work)

Howard, Welcome to the discussion area!
Does the hub model or brand matter?
    It shouldn't.
do the computers need to change to manual from DCHP?
DHCP is easiest to maintain but manual should work without any problems.
    is the airport defective?
    Possible but not likely.
The most likely cause of your problem is a defective or intermittent Ethernet cable.
If all of your wired clients experience the problem at the same time, the possibilities would seem to be:
Defective Ethernet cable from AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) to hub.
    Defective Ethernet hub.
    Defective LAN port on AEBS.
I think the 3rd item very unlikely.

  • App crashes

Installing itunes on my windows vista was successful but the app crashes when i try to run it

    Hello MrGadget09,
This particular question has been asked and answered in several threads.
If it happens with multiple or all of your 3rd party APPs, check my post in this thread for the steps to resolve this type of issue:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1903106
If it's specific to isolated APPs, try deleting the APPs from the iPhone and iTunes and then downloading a fresh copy of the APP and syncing it. This may remove the data or settings file for the APP in the process.
You can re-download purchased APPs free of charge:

    Take care,

  • Only Apple Apps Crash w/ iOS4

Ocassionaly my 3rd party apps crash, but that's normal. But ever since I've upgraded to iOS4 on my 2nd Gen 8GB iPod Touch, all of the Apple apps (Safari, Maps, App Store, Mail, etc.) crash way too often. Any good fix? Any way to report this to Apple?

I have an IPOD third gen - 8GB since updating to ios4, Safari regularly crashes. Also is there a lite version of ios4 as it takes up over 2GB? I would also like to contact apple regarding this.

  • Flash video goes green, but audio continues with 10.1

Ever since I upgraded to flash 10.1 I can be watching a video from any flash site and it will go all green,  The video driver crashes but I continue to hear the sound.  If I change resolution, the video comes back temporarily. I am on version 10,1,82,76 and have the latest Nvidia drivers installed.  This happens  on two 64 bit windows 7 machines.  One running a geforce 9600gt and core 2 duo with 4 gig RAM , the other a geforce 8600gts core 2 quad and 4 gig RAM.  I am using IE8  but I think I have seen it in firefox too.  Anybody know of a fix?

  • Hold Option key at start up only show Mac OS but Windows

    Hi all,
i have installed windows xp on my macbook(the new one with leopard).
    and windows work well.
but when i hold option key at start up, it only show me mac os.
i don't know why.how can i make it show me 2 systems(mac and windows) after i hold option key at start up?

If I remember correctly, Bootcamp needs an NTFS partition for Windows in order to work correctly. This is the default file system for WindowsXP. The Bootcamp assistant tells you during installation that a FAT32 partition already exists and, curiously, gives you the default selection of leaving this intact. You need to ignore that and format using NTFS. If you don't, then Windows wont boot. To convert to NTFS, you will need to run the assistant again and reinstall Windows.
To overcome the problem of data portability between WinXP and OSX, I use a small 30 gig USB external drive formatted using FAT32 as a bridge between the two. Hope all this is useful?

  • I have a problem with Imovie. Just brought an macbook 15 retina , iLife install and Imovie was working. I than did a data migration from my old macbook pro and now it crashes on start up. I tried to re-install from app store but no option to re-install

Well, my two-month-old MBP has no qualms about booting from a no-name external USB HD I put together...
Given that is is a common point of failure, I would imagine a large Apple Store should keep a stock of HD's on hand.
Now since you're a bit desperate and the genie pops up til Saturday and you seem to be the enterprising kind, let's try an experiment: if you have room enough in the external HD and assuming it isn't a Time Machine volume, why don't you plug it in, stick the Install CD and see if the installer lets you select the external drive as the install target. If you can install Leopard on it, on top of the backup without reformatting, and the Mac can boot from the drive afterwards, at least you would have some functionality restored and would be able to pull your stuff from the internal HD. Apple says booting from USB drives is not supported but that does not equate to not possible; some brands do work. Risks? Always. You can always lose your backup. Like I said, a challenge for an enterprising gal....
Next time around, consider having a bootable external clone at hand for rainy days. I keep three myself...
P.S. Since I'll be in the Dallas-FW area in late June, I can volunteer with the confetti....

  • My finder app is in a continuous state of crashing

My finder app is in a continuous state of crashing and relaunching every 2 seconds or so, I can't open finder or time machine or my trash, as well as all of my desktop items are gone, I can still access the internet, but nothing online has helped me. If anybody has any solutions I would be extremely thankful. I'm using 10.6.8 . I have tried using terminal, or relaunching finder, nothing will work.

You may be able to start up in SafeBoot and then read the Log files in the system profiler area, to see what kinds of oddities may appear or if there is some kind of kernel panic, etc going on. And while there in a booted state with limited OS X sections off by default, you may be able to see such basics as if the computer's hard disk drive is getting full, or if Disk Utility gives you any error messages when you Check Disk, and while there, note free vs used capacities, status of RAM (including VM as it uses drive space as RAM.)
In the trouble and or crash logs, and basic running logs, Console is also a place to look, but there are very many; so this may be something to get into when or if someone who knows how to read the log file language sees your post and expresses a willingness to help decode them.
If you have a backup, you may have to see about using 'secure erase' from the booted installer DVD or if your computer has no optical drive but has a recovery partition, see about using that system's Utilities to access Disk Utility, and then choose the Erase selection. And that would wipe the drive, and overwrite zeros on the old data; failed sectors may be tagged and avoided, or repaired, in so doing the drive would be clearer. Unless the hard disk drive is failing.
There is a chance there may be something haywire, even corrupt/bad hard drive or bad RAM may act up, but Finder should not crash. There are related issues and ideas here, but in a later OS X version: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22273053#22273053
    Did you upgrade from an older system than 10.6(.8) or did that computer ship with the version installed? Some people upgrade over an older system and that effectively can carry a problem forward without resolving it. {edited}
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • After recently downgrading back to iOS 6.1.4 on my iPhone 5, I am trying to get back my apps but every time I go into the App Store it only shows the option "Open" for the apps that I had previously. The apps don't appear in my home screen. HELP

After recently downgrading from iOS 7 back to iOS 6.1.4 on my iPhone whenever I go into the App Store to redownload my apps it only gives me the option "open" but I don't have the apps, therefore I don't HAve the app to open. Please help

How can u downgrade. Apple doesn't allow that. Unless your iPhone 5 is jail broken.  iOS 7 isn't even out yet. There Is no way u can get iOS 7 unless it was beta. And if so beta is having some issues.

  • Agentry App crashes on Device but not in the ATE Testenvirement

    Hello,
we make a app which works fine in the ATE Testenvirement and also in a iPhone but our main Plattform is the The WIndows Mobile Pocket PC.
We use a Motorola MC65 with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
On the Motorola the app crashes in a definite transaction when we close the transaction screen.
Workflow is this: we open a detail screen with a listview -> with double click we pick a object from a collection and  starts the transaction -> close the transaction screen -> now a rule decide what will happen (you can see the rule in the picture) -> but the app crashs before something happens.
Could we debug the client or could we create some loggings on the device? We dont know how we could find out why the app crashes. (as information: if the agentry client crashes on this point, we could not end the task from the agentry client with the task manager, we have to restart the Motorola client)
    Thanx,
    André

    Hallo,
    now we fixed the problem.
As i told you we start the transaction screen from the detail screen and after ending the gtransaction the screen did not close and the client did not respond anymore.
We fixed the Problem in this way that we do a navigationstep after the transaction step. In this we make the decision which screen should be shown as the next screen an open it. Thats all. In all other Client beside the WinCE Client the Transactionscreen closed and we could see the last detail screen. But on the  WinCE Client we nedd the navigation step.
I dont know if this is a bug from the WinCE Agentry Client Version 6.1.4.54024 but this workarpund was the solution for us.
@Jason: we breaking the rule down to separate subrules so the debugging in much better but we loose the reference to the object we used in the main rule, so we keep the active object refernce in a temp attribut at the main object and  get the active object with this id in the subrules
