App developed with AIR 1.5 (or Flex 3 sdk) export to Tablet

I have an enterpise app maked with Adobe AIR 1.5, developed with Flex 3 SDK and halo components (MX not Spark).
I want to export this app to a tablet for my client (this app is very easy to use in a touch screen). But i supose that i have to rewrite all app in Flex Hero SDK (and export with AIR 2.6) and its hard.
Anyone has export an app developed with Air 1.5 or Flex 3 SDK to a tablet of android, blackberry or IOS with AdobeAIR 2.5 or 2.6?
Perhaps it could run in a tablet of Windows 7 but this tablets seems realy poor...
Thanks guys!

Anyone has an old app made in flex 3 or air 1.5 who wants to export an tablet?

  • Please help: Nook Tablet app development with AIR/Flash CS5.5?

    Hello,
I developed my first-ever iOS app using Flash CS5.5 (the app has stability issues, addressed in a separate thread).  Next on the list is Android deployment.
Can anyone indicate if Flash CS5.5 can be used to develop Android apps for the Nook Tablet?  My problem is that the Android-based guidance I've read tells you to take your Android device and configure it for "USB Debugging."  The Nook Tablet has no such setting, unlike many other Android phones and tablets.  Basically, I need current step-by-step guidance on Android development, plus any guidance on anything different that needs to be done for the Nook Tablet.  Thank you for any advice.

Hi, I can confirm that you can develop apps for the NOOK color and tablet. You must use Air 2.6 since the device is pre loaded with that version of air.
Some devices dont support USB debugging, like my kindle fire however a more painful way of doing it is to publish out an apk and then manually load it on to your device either through a file manager of some sort or by emailing yourself the file and then installing it. Be sure to enable your device to accept unknown source files.
I recently published a couple of apps to the NOOK store that I had only tested on an HTC phone and the kindle fire and they both passed the test so I believe the NOOK seems to behave very similar to most android devices and the kindle fire, same dimensions at least as the KF.

  • Apps built with AIR 3.4 release SDK for AppStore?

    Hello,
    Here's my question -
Can we publish apps built with AIR 3.4 release SDK to the Apple AppStore?
We need to use AIR 3.4 SDK as the AIR 3.3 SDK results in problems on iOS 6.
Also, was going through the AIR 3.4 SDK release notes ... Can you detail how do these affect iOS development -
    http://helpx.adobe.com/en/flash-player/release-note/fp_114_air_34_release_notes.html#known _issues
    Thank you.

I am likewise having this issue and have posted a thread here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4732647#4732647
    Any solutions/suggestions are greatly appreciated!
    thank you,

  • The version of iOS on does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK

Getting this error message as of this morning: The version of iOS on “iPad” does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK. I've downloaded the latest SDK and gone through the usual turn off and turn on again for iPad and computer, removed and reinstalled the iPad from Organizer and have no idea how to make apps build now. I was prompted to update the iphone too but there's no way I'm updating it if this issue can't be resolved.

Okay these are the steps I took to solve the problem - they may not be the right ones for you but they've solved the problem and saved time hunting for some other solution. Firstly I changed my MAC system to Lion with the £20 download, then I deleted the old Xcode and installed the new version that is app based and doesn't support Snow Leopard, then all was well. I can now update my xcode via the app which is quicker and more logical and can update my iPhone rather than chug along avoiding updates as I need to update my existing apps on the app store and upload a new one.

  • There any way to re-sign the app developed with Adobe DPS?

Hi Everyone , I explain a problem that I have with DPS Single Edition ( it useful that is until May ) to see if anyone knows a solution. I have developed an app for a client , but the client wants to publish the app in Apple Developer with your name . How to export the .ipa or .zip Dps asks certificates Apple account and logically put mine ... (customer is a large company and I do not give me your passwords Apple etc ) you know if there any way they can re-sign the app ? As you do when you develop an app for a client who wants to publish on their own?

Ok they'll ask my client to send me those files.
With notifications no problem because the app does not.
With respect to  Itunes connect and publication in the AppStore, will my client who is responsible for publishing the app, complete data etc. from their own.
Your help has been very helpful to me.

  • Do mobile apps developed with Flash Builder 4.5 rely on a redistributable or virtual machine?

I'm very new to Flash Builder 4.5 and am still trying to get my head around it.  I'm freelance and my primary code pimp has asked me to justify using FB 4.5 to develop mobile apps rather than something like PhoneGap or native SDKs (Objective C, Java, etc.).
I'm quite impressed with FB 4.5 and it seems quite plain to me that FB 4.5 tries very hard to provide all the tools necessary to create iOS/Android/Blackberry apps all from a single code base but I'm wondering a few things:
    1) Does this require the use of a redistributable or virtual machine?  I'm wondering both from a performance standpoint but also just to understand better how FB 4.5 provides this magic one-project-for-all-platforms capability.  I'm guessing there must be some kind of virtual machine abstraction in use -- or does FB 4.5 generate a fully native application for each platform without the need for a machine abstraction layer?
    2) Has anyone encountered a situation where any of the target platforms lack features or behave differently?  E.g., "I cannot access some hardware feature like the accelerometer on Android under certain conditions."
    3) Can anyone speak to the relative benefits or penalties that FB 4.5 offers relative to PhoneGap or other HTML 5 solutions?

Try to avoid using MX components in mobile apps.

  • Agentry app development with SMP 3.0 SDK

    Dear All,
I am new to Agentry app development using SMP 3.0 and i have some basic knowledge on Agentry app development using Eclipse editor using Agentry Plug-in's, and after developing the app, publishing to the Agentry Server and testing the same app using Agentry ATE, but what my queries is please find the below points.
    1) In SMP 3.0 SDK, under Agentry app development what is the use of following 'a' and 'b', and give me more clarity about those 'a' and 'b'.
         a) Agentry OpenUI for iOS Setup Overview and
         b) Agentry OpenUI for Android Setup Overview
For above points please find the Agentry1.jpeg for better understand.
2)In the same SMP 3.0 SDK under Agentry app development what is the following points and give me more clarity the same below points.
        a) The Agentry SDK
         b) Agentry Device Client Branding SDK.
         c) Agentry OpenUI API
For above points please find the Agentry2.jpeg for better understand.
    3) And how to generate executable like .apk for Android client and .ipa for iOS client and .cab for Windows Mobile etc..
    Best Regards,

    Ranjith,
I will do my best to answer your questions.
    1) OpenUI is a new option for Agentry applications under SMP 3.0 to allow users to extend and create their own controls for the Agentry clients.  Open UI is available for WPF, iOS and Android clients.  Using OpenUI is optional but can be used to create additional controls that do not exist in the base Agentry product (for example a slider control).  Open UI controls are created using the native language of the device so there are different setup instructions for each platform.
2a) The Agentry SDK is the Active X process that only applies to Windows Mobile clients under SMP3.0.  For the other clients it has be replaced with OpenUI.
2b)  Device branding is a process to take a generic client and apply your own icon, name, etc to it so that it is specific to your application name.  Again here the process for branding differs depending on the platform.
    2c) See #1
    3) Generating the .ipa or .apk process is part of either OpenUI or the Branding process.  You will need to follow the steps specific to which one you are doing.  There is no process for generating .cab files.  The branding for WinCE involves creation of a custom installer using NSIS scripts
With SMP 3.0 we have even more options for extending the Agentry client to provide better integration (ESRI maps via OpenUI) or additional controls to improve the user experience.
    Have fun!

  • Mobile App Development with 4.0 ?

    Greetings!
I am just about to get into mobile app development. Our Company thou still operates Apes 4.0 and we are waiting for the 4.2 release, before we do the upgrade. On the other hand, the mobile app should be ready earlier due to customer requests.
Now I myself I am still quite new to Apex. I have done some research about what you can do with earlier versions, but havn't really found anything very usefull yet. So I would like so ask here for some advice. I could try building the GUI myself with jquery, installing the latest jquery/mobile versions, fixing the templates, building my own templates, etc., but that would be a humungous work and not the apex-idea.
Are there template plugins for tablet and iPhone GUI elements, that - maybe with a little tweeking - run on apex 4.0, including the touch-screen effects like "swiping" to the next page?
Or would you suggest, to upgrade to 4.1, even thou in 3-4 months we might have to make the upgrade again?
For any link to related articles I will be very gratefull, too.
    Best regards,
    tobi

1)Which is the latest version that supports mobile app development ?None.
1.3 did support mobile development to some limited extent, but that is a deprecated dead branch and no longer supported.
You can run JavaFX on a Windows 7 or 8 tablet PC, but my guess is that by mobile app development you mean iOS/Android - neither of which are supported.
2)Will it have the cross device support?Perhaps there will be a version of JavaFX that runs on iOS/Android at some time in the future.
There are people working on making this possible =>

  • Can you launch an android app from an android app built with air?

Hi I might a have project coming up soon where one of the requirements is that the android air application can launch another application on the device...
In pure java this would look something like this....
    Intent LaunchIntent = getPackageManager().getLaunchIntentForPackage("com.rpg.rbar");
    startActivity(LaunchIntent);
Does anyone no if I can perform a similar method using as3
    Thanks
      Aidan

Try the below.  Found this at the below link.
    http://www.blogbyben.com/2013/04/launching-android-app-from-adobe-air-app.html
    var url:String = ("intent:#Intent;" + "action=android.intent.action.MAIN;" + "category=android.intent.category.LAUNCHER;" + "component=com.android.settings/.Settings;" + "end");  navigateToURL(new URLRequest(url));
Question I have is, is there any way to get a list of currently installed apps?

  • Difficulty with Licensing Android apps developed with Flash CS6

Hi, I'm heading down many a blind alley with this one. I have developed an Android app using Flash CS6 and it is ready to be published on Google Play. However, as it is a paid app, it is strongly advised to license it to protect it.
There is a bit of documentation on how to do this with Flash Builder, but I need to be able to do it with Flash. The following link provides some info, though it is far too confusing for me to follow.
    http://www.rybram.com/index.php/blog/61-air-30-android-licensing-tutorial-project
The Android developer page has info about it here, but it keeps refering to the Manifest file.
    http://developer.android.com/google/play/licensing/adding-licensing.html
I've seen a few other threads on here touching on this subject, but I have not had any luck with them. There's lots of references to Air Native Extensions that handle licensing but I don't understand them.
I'm quite surprised that there is no support from Adobe on such a fundamental stage of the app production. Basically, anyone developing Android apps using the otherwise fantastic Flash CS6 will have trouble protecting their apps with licenses once published, meaning that anyone can just grab the .apk file and redistribute it anywhere.

I think what I need is the idiot's guide
As long as you don`t make this attudude a habit
It might be best that you hire someone to look into the matter, pushing out sth. on the market with no real plan
I'm heading down many a blind alley with this one
could get you into serious trouble with customers that buy your product, experiencing trouble with some kind of DRM you are blindfoldedly implementing and having no clue how to fix it.
    Just saying.
You wouldn`t surely feel comfortably buying from a developer who is admitting to have no clue what he/she is doing, would you?

  • Old FP-1000 app developed with LabVIEW 5.1.1, not running correctly since updating to MAX 4.5/FP6.0.2

I have an old application built under LabVIEW 5.1.1 which opens an .iak file (the file path is embedded in the app) and reads/writes to modules attached to an FP-1000.  Recently I was forced to move the setup onto a new PC and now I'm unable to get the app to communicate with the FP hardware.  The new PC has recent drivers installed (MAX 4.5, FP drivers 6.0.2).  From MAX, I can open the .iak file and communicate with the FP hardware, so I'm unsure of where the problem lies.  Are there version limitations with such old LabVIEW code and new FieldPoint drivers?  Sorry, I haven't visited this setup for  a long time (nor did I create it originally), so I'm a bit rusty on FieldPoint setups.  Any guidance would be much appreciated - I'm trying to avoid having to redevelop the app.

    Thanks, Chris, for replying.
I have every version of LabVIEW from 5.0 through 2009 beta available, though not presently installed.  I was trying to avoid having to bring this app back into the development environment.
Since I posted last, I experimented and fixed the issue.  I took a current copy of FPLVMgr.dll (version 6.0.0) and dropped it into the support directory for the app, replacing the old (3.0.0) DLL which was there.  So, the answer to my question seems to be, an old LV executable can use a new FP DLL, and apparently must do so if the MAX/FP driver installation is updated.
Hope this info is useful to others.

  • Android development with Air 2.5 with Flash CS4 is this possible?

Can anyone point me where or fill me in on if this is possible which I think it is... I need to figure out how to set up flash cs4 with the AIR 2.5 SDK  Because I think it is possible to still build the air app in cs4 and then package it for android using the sdk adt.bat??? Any tutorials or info on this would be great I'm struggling to find any real clear answers everything really mentions cs5 or flash builder... Thanks answers greatly appreciated!!!

This was part of the AIR 2.0 beta release note, but I used this for 2.5 and it works nice.
You can try it too an make sure you use 2.5 wherever the not says 2.0beta2.
    Goodluck.
How to Update Flash CS4 to Use the AIR 2 Beta SDK
If you use Flash CS4 Professional to build Adobe AIR applications, please follow the instructions below to manually update the version of the AIR SDK to use version 2.0.
Update Flash CS4 Professional to version 10.0.2 at http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html or select "Help > Updates... " from within Flash CS4.
Quit Flash CS4 Professional if it is open.
Navigate to the Flash CS4 installation folder. The default location on Windows is "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\" and on Mac OS "/Applications/Adobe Flash CS4/"
Within the "Adobe Flash CS4" folder you should see a folder called "AIK1.5". If this folder is not present repeat step #1.
Rename the folder "AIK1.5" to "AIK1.5 OLD" or delete it if you do not need to save a copy of it.
Make a new folder called "AIK1.5"
Download the Adobe AIR 2 SDK from the labs website and uncompress the contents of the folder to the new "AIK1.5" folder you just created.
Copy the "airglobal.swc" file located within the "Adobe Flash CS4/AIK1.5/frameworks/libs/air/" folder into the "Adobe Flash CS4/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/AIR1.5/" folder.
Flash CS4 is now configured to use the AIR 2 beta 2 SDK.
In order to take advantage of the new AIR 2 beta 2 features, you will need to update your application descriptor file to use the "2.0beta2" namespace.

  • Tools for Mobile App Development with HTML5/CSS

    Hi --
I am interested in learning to develop cross platform mobile apps using HTML5 and CSS.
Which Adobe product(s) (and other tools) are best for this?
I'm guessing that Apache Cordova and Adobe PhoneGap Build are places to start but I'm looking for input from others.
I'm also guessing the Adobe Edge products are appropriate "IDEs" for this kind of thing?
What does Cordova bring to the table that isn't available in native HTML5/CSS?
I apologize if this is not the correct forum for this question but upon reviewing the list of available forums this seemed like the best fit.
    Thanks
    Rich

    Rich,
There are few routs you could go to create a Mobile App using Adobe tools.
    1. Adobe Muse then export from Muse and visit build.adobe.com as Brad pointed out here:
Can I make a Mobile site with Muse and then go through PhoneGap?
"Export as HTML and the create a zip file with the contents. Go to Phonegap,s website and submit the app directly from there instead of through Dreamweaver."
    2. Dreamweaver and Phonegap build access inside Dreamweaver. Read other users experiences on this community form before you rely solely on Dreamweaver to upload your app to build.adobe.com
    3. Manually coding and uploading your html, js, css, assets (images, audio etc) files coded either in new adobe Edge Code or Dreamweaver to build.phonegap.com
For easier graphic editing for media devices use Adobe's Fireworks graphics software instead of Adobe Photoshop for graphics. Once you start on your project there are various workflows you can use depending on what you are trying to make.

  • OSX App development with finder integration

I want to develop an app which will works like Dropbox,GoogleDrive with the integration of finder. I have a server which stores metadata of files and folders and I want to show the same files/folders structure in finder without downloading the files locally. I want to show all files and folders structure in finder. If anyone did like this then please suggest me some links or any sample code.
    Thanks in Advance

If you expose a WebDAV interface on your server, you don't need to do anything on the client. Finder has a WebDAV client. You connect to a WebDAV server using Finder's Go > Connect to Server menu item.
I suggest you do some research on WebDAV to understand how it works, then determine whether it meets your requirements. Start here.
