App Window size freezes & can't be changed

This has happened in both Pages and in Finder: The window locks into its current size and cannot be resized. When the pointer is placed at the edge of the window the double arrow appears, but the window cannot be changed. The app must be quit and restarted before the window size can be adjusted again.

Is there Any Terminal Command to Bring Icon, Doc, App & Window Size to Default

Is there a kind of universal restore to default (as if it was freshly or cleanly installed) everything in the OS (icon size, dock size, placement or position, app window size default, etc.) either in terminal or some hidden restore to default button in Lion and Leopard? You could delete the plists for the things that control those options. The system will then recreate the default plists. plists are preference list files stored in you user/Library/Preferences folder or in the main /Library/Preferences folders. Most can just be deleted without problems; however, some contain setup information (like Mail's) that is difficult to recreate, so moving the plist first so you can restore it if everything goes wonky.
For Finder windows, there is a hidden .DS_Store file that keeps the window settings for each folder. I'm sure I've seen a command to hunt down and delete all of those files.

Software to restore apps window size and position after change in screen resolution

I use a 27' iMac'10 with SL 10.6.8, running it at 2560x1440 screen resolution.
Whenever I have to attend meetings via GoToMeeting or Webex and need to present, the resolution is too high, since most participants are on 15' laptops or even iPad's these days. Therefore, I reset the screen resolution to 1600x900 for the time of the presentation.
After the meeting is over, I reset the resolution back to 2560x1440.
Problem: After the reset, all my apps are scaled and out of place, so I need to manually reset them to their original sizes and positions. I use Divvy to make this a bit less painful, but still it's a manual chore.
Is there any software out there that let's me restore my windows to the exact settings they were the last time before I changed screen resolution?

I agree, the ability to remember window sizes and positions when switching between laptop and using the Thunderbolt display would be very useful. It's like your Mac remembering the volume level depending on whether you have headphones plugged in or not.

You need a Mac, to reformat the iPod to Mac format. Windows machines cant do that.
Connect you iPod to the Mac, if iTunes pop up, Restore the iPod
or
Open Disk Utility-> Erase-> filesystem ->HFS+(journaled) may take about 3-4 hours depending on the size of your iPod HD.
Note that Windows machines don't recognise Mac formatted iPod, however Mac machines recognised Windows formatted iPod.

After upgrading, I cannot log in to windows as administrator. Only user accounts can log into windows. I can make no changes or restor, because I cannot gain administrator access.

I don't suspect Malware yet, Id guess Disk corruption or failing Hard Drive with Files not found.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

CC Desktop Application Window Size

I am running CC on Windows 8.1 and the CC Desktop App window size is too small, such that only the CC icon is visible and I cannot resize it.

If you want to make the itunes tab so you can see the dock
you press the
esc
button if your in full screen mode
if you want to get into full screen mode you press the arrows facing away from eachother in the top right corner
there is another way to get to the normal tab if your in full screen
make the curser go right up to the top of the screen and it will show the apple tab
it will have two arrows facing together highlited in blue
if u tap that it will take you to the normal tab

Can't use letter A - it changes window size

Whenever I use the letter A, upper or lower case, it changes the window size - first small and then big. Its driving me nuts. I can't type a word using "a", and my windows keep changing size whenever I use it. I'm obviously typing this on another computer.
I've rebooted, and I checked preferences and there is not a keyboard shortcut accidentally assigned to "a".

you could try another account; see if it has the same issue. (if it still happens its not settings)
you could enable the keyboard viewer; and see if pressing a is being registered as pressing another key
(apple menu, system preferences, language, input source, check keyboard & character viewer, click on thhe us flag on the menu bar, chose show keyboard viewer)

How can I change the default window size of a new message permanently?

The mail window opens up very small and every time I must increase the size manually. I want to be able to set it so it opens larger or at least opens to the saem size as a previous mail window, which is what Mail used to do.
Also, can anyone tell me how to stop that new mail window from opening on the bottom left of my screen? I need to move it in orde to increase the window size. So, 2 default actions that are a psin to constantly deal with.

I'm using OSX for a long time. Now I bought a new MBA 10' with Mavericks 10.9.2. I'm really tired about ever changing window sizes after restarting my MBA, espacialy the sidebar is skipping to a wider size, then the window, I used before turning the mac of. No window opens, in exact that size I used before. Of course, I used to fix it, but never menaged to do so.
Have you any idea to solve my problem?

Do you uncheck the "Reopen windows when logging back in?" box? If so, does the issue occur when you leave the box checked?
That might be the culprit.

Hi,
I would think that, generally speaking, users would print from a Printer Friendly page. This is a page template that has most of the top and bottom (that is, the tabs and footers) of a normal page removed. You can switch a page to a Printer Friendly one fairly easily - see: Re: Print Report without Template for an example. As this is a separate page template, you can use printer-only styling. The downside is that you can only have one Printer Friendly page in your application, so you have to be careful to make any styling generic.
