Apple adapter MC522ZM/B

We now live in Portugal where, as you may know, because of use of an alternate satellite, we cannot now receive UK programmes direct to our TV.
Would you please confirm that this adapter will feed live BBC/ITV. etc from Apple ipad 3 to Samsung LCD television (model LE37R7).

Had the same issue with my Nissan Rogue 2011.
This listed below will fix it...
Go to General > Restrictions > CarPlay -- Make sure Carplay is DISABLED. (The new IOS 8 enables this on default)
Go to General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
The Nissan Rogue radio system was never designed to work with CarPlay. By default, CarPlay feature comes enabled when you install IOS 8. Suckz, right?

It's asking you for my apple id password. not going to give that out, sorry.
However I did try this projector on my mother in laws iphone 4 and on my old iphone 3. ipico software isn't needed. plug and play any video through standard movie player or camera saved video.
I tried on my girls iphone 5 with the adapter. The ipico software and projector doesn't work on this phone.
Hope this helped you. Better to buy a used iphone 3 or 4 and use it for video storage.
I also found that the battery on these projectors are a joke (30-60mins max). I rigged a longer lasting battery on the outside and keep it plugged in while using. This doesn't charge the phone though so I replaced the battery in the old iphone 3 and now get at least a full length movie from it. Great in bed projected onto the ceiling.

blackyam...thank you for the ipico software. When I try to authorize my computer for it it says that I need to fill in the password for *******@yahoo.com. I can't seem to get it to work with my email and password. Do you know anything about this or do you know *******@yahoo.com's password?thx, Chris

Apple Adapter Exchange

I currently reside in Calgary, Canada and I just came back from vacation in Honolulu, HI from where I purchased an adapter from the apple store for my apple macbook, unfortunately the sales person gave me the wrong one because now I realize it is not compatible with my Macbook. I still have the sales receipt and the product is in its original packaging. Is it possible to exchange the adapter for the correct one somewhere in calgary? the apple adapter in question is the Apple Video adapter (M9109G/A), instead I believe i need the Mini-DVI to Video adapter (M9319G/A). Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

You would need to call one of the apple stores and ask them. It would be up to the store to either do it or not.

Firewire Drive to Thunderbolt via Apple adapter speed issues.

My old MBP recently died (plastic at the back started to melt) while doing lots of editing so have bought a new MBP Retina display. As it only has USB3 and Thunderbolt ports, I purchased the apple Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt adpater to connect the powered G-Tech G Drive which contains my live FCPX project files. Anyway this drive is now really slow compared to how it used to run on the old MBP. Also it seems to be constantly spinning with multiple drive accessses. Sometime FCPX stalls as the drive is too busy. I contacted G-Tech and they say their drives do no support third party adapters and at present they have not come back with a solution. I have heard that unpowered FIrewire drives using the Apple adapter won't work as the Thunderbolt port does not supply enough power (only 7W).
Does anyone have a solution to how to get more speed out of the G-Drive (It has Firewire 800, eSATA and USB2 ports) b) why it's constantly active. G-Tech thought that "It is possible that this adapter is constantly sending a signal causing the drive to keep spinning." c) I have never used eSATA, has any one had any experience with eSATA to Thunderbolt / USB3 adpaters?
I don't really want to invest in a new and very expensive Thunderbolt drive having just outlayed the expense to make this emergency purchase of my new MBP but if there are no solutions then I'll have no choice. Any suggestions greatfully recieved.

I believe this issue is caused by bad ground coupling between the two devices, some of the induced charge can spark between connectors in the thunderbolt port causing computer to basicly freeze.
To solve this issue try touching the connectors outside metal part to your macbooks body first to discharge it, then while plugging int the connector do it at slight angle so the metal of the connector touches Mac's body.
This method has been working for me.

Yes, but only when using an app that supports video output. The first-gen iPad does not support mirroring the screen. If you haven't already, try launching the Videos app and playing something.

Having problems connecting iPad 4S to monitor with Apple adapter and HDMI cable.

Purchased an Apple adapter to connect to an HDMI cable. The connections were secure and the image on the iPad was duplicated on the monitor; however, there was a lot of "snow" on the monitor. I tried turning off the power to the iPad and then starting back up, but that didn't work. Once when checking the connections the image cleared for a few seconds, but then the "snow" came back. Any ideas?

sounds like either an issue with the HDMi cable, or the connection at the TV possibly.
Try another HDMI port on your TV if there is one, or a different cable.

I bought the apple adapter MD824ZM/A so I could hook it up to my Ipad Mini and my Phillips Dockings station DC29137 so I could listen to music out loud. It worked for a while - about 4 months. Now I get the message the accessory is not supported by this Ipad. It still lets me charge my Ipad mini. Is there something on the Ipad Mini settings that I have to do to let it play out loud?

New DVI-standard doesn't fit with old Apple adapter

I bought a new MBP i7 the last week and was very surprised when i noticed that the adapter i bought (Mini Display to DVI) doesn't fit with my old adapter (DVI to VGA). Apples new DVI-adapter us the DVI-D standard and that doesn't work well with teh DVI-I standard. The Apple Mini-Displayport-to-DVI adapter is DVI-D because there is no analog signal emitted from the Mini-Displayport. The contacts the adapter lacks are the ones that would carry an analog signal, if there were any. If you want to connect your MBP to a device with a VGA input port, get a mini-displayport-to-VGA adapter.

A 12 W will not charge the iPod any faster but will work fine. The 12 W is made for iPads
