Apple configurator - Passcode Restriction saving on one ipad but won't save on the others

I have read a few different posts about the ipad restrictions passcode not transferring to the rest of my ipads but can’t understand why it saves on one of them ?
I have 2 cabinets with 10 ipads in each both linked up to an imac using Apple Configurator.
On iPad One I’ve set up the available restrictions within profile, added apps, changed wallpaper/background etc and the enabled restrictions using a passcode on the actual device and backed up.
I then apply the backup and profile to the remainder 19 ipads and everything looks fine except enable restrictions is set to off on all of the 19 ipads.
So I think this can’t be a setting that’s transferable. I then un-tick Automatic Refresh in Preferences and go through all 19 ipads and enable restrictions manually choosing the exact same passcode for all devices.
I plug them back in and refresh the devices. All 19 loose their passcode except for ipad one ?
Why does ipad one save this setting yet all other 19 devices cant save theirs ?
I intend of giving out the 20 ipads for public use but can restrict users from going in to settings, then reset and erase the device back to factory settings.
This seems like a basic requirement for anyone deploying ipads for public, business or education use.
Is there a smarter way to do this that I a missing?

Hopefully this will be an update within Apple Configurator soon. The configurator has the potentail to be a great tool but lacks soem really basic features.
I'll take a look at making an encrypted backup in iTunes, although none of my iPads are showing up as devices within iTunes. Maybe becasue they are in supervise mode ?
Also just noticed that iPad 20 is not appearing in the Configurator even though its conected and lit up in the sync cab. I've change leads and ports in the cab but getting nothing.

We have 2 iPhones and two iPads, we what to sync one phone and one iPad to an iTunes account and the other iPad and iPhone to a different iTunes account, but it keeps trying to sync the first accounts music, apps etc. We are using the one (only) computer.

My wife and I have an iPhone 3GS and and new iPad 2 each and we also have separate iTunes accounts.
We have only one computer and whilst I have no problem syncing the computer and my iPhone and iPad, I now need to sync my wife's phone and iPad but for some reason even when we sign into her iTunes account iTunes wants to sync my content to her devices.
Please could someone confirm how we can avoid this and ensure our content is kept separate and distinct

You can't buy more storage on an iPad. You are referring to space on iCloud and that probably won't accomplish what you are trying to do.

Check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on both your iPhone and your iPad to make sure that the following are all true:
(1) you have selected the same Apple ID on both devices,
(2) you have the same entries checked under "You can be reached by iMessage at:" on both devices,
(3) you have the same entry checked under "Start new conversations from:" on both devices,
and
(4) that the entry checked in #3 is one of those checked in #2 on both devices.

The profile on the MAC server has been deleted and the iPad has been erased and reset to default. I need to be able to get Configurator to recognize this device to prepare it for deployment and issue Apps to it. Please help!!

Run the application 'Terminal.app' which you will find in '/Applications/Utilities' on your Macintosh.
Type this into it: defaults delete com.apple.configurator PreprationSavedPolicyDefaultsKey
Hit the return key.
If you get no error message, it worked, and you can quit the app.

My Ipad was left on a plane - bought a new one and in setting it up, I checkd to set up from a previous Ipad but when it puled up the lastest Icloudata,it would't work as one was 6.1.0 and the other was 6.1.2. Soooo, how do I retrieve data??

I am trying to retrieve what was on a lost Ipad. I THOUGHT when I signed into APple it would just BE there. All my photos, program apps installed and etc but apparently there were not compatible - one was a 6.1.0 and the other was 6.1.2. Soooo, I went ahead and set it up as an New Ipad thinking that once I signed int o Apple, it would all be there I understand they are different serial numbers but thought it would update on this new one.
ANy suggestions - is it possible to get all the purchased music and downloads and aps that I had on the other one I Hope????

The problem is that the new device has a slightly older version of iOS than the device that did the back up. All you have to do is connect to itunes and in the Summary tab, check for the latest version to install. After that you can perform a restore.

Allan was somewhat incomplete in his statement. While technically it would be possible, from a licensing standpoint you need one license for each iPad unless those iPads were all going to be used by the same person (which I think unlikely given your described use). Here are the relevant terms of the iTunes Store agreement (emphasis mine):
"(ii) If you are a commercial enterprise or educational institution, you may download and sync an App Store Product for use by either (a) a single individual on one or more iOS Devices used by that individual that you own or control or (b) multiple individuals, on a single shared iOS Device you own or control. For example, a single employee may use an App Store Product on both the employee's iPhone and iPad, or multiple students may serially use an App Store Product on a single iPad located at a resource center or library. For the sake of clarity, each iOS Device used serially by multiple users requires a separate license."
So you would legally need to purchase one copy of the app for each iPad, something which would require an iTunes Store account for each iPad. For normal purchases, each iTunes Store account would need an associated credit card or prepaid iTunes card.
The Volume Purchase Plan works similarly - you still need one license and one iTunes Store account for each iPad - but the purchasing is centralized so you don't get billed multiple times. You get one recemption code for each license you purchase. See:

I had the same problem last month.
The only fix was to call Apple Support. Basically, the history of the account could be followed and the hacker had changed the email address and no doubt the password of my apple id. The account also showed purchases in £ so I suspect the associated country been changed as well? Apple support blocked his associated credit card, restored the account back to a date where I had last used it and we then changed the Apple ID to a new email address. I could have used the old Apple ID, effectively regaining control of it, but I wasn't attached to it and it enhanced security by changing it.
Scared myself last night as my daughetrs iphone had been associated with the old ID and she couldn't access the icloud acocunt. I'd manged to restore her iphone, although it was asking for the passowrd of the hacked Apple ID, I used the password for the 'new' ID (just the old one with a changed email) and it worked. Even after restoring the iphone, I still had to change my 'new' apple id back to the 'old' email so she could sign out of the 'old' icloud account on her phone after the restore and disable 'find my iphone'. Only then could she add her own personal icloud account and I changed my apple id back to the new email. Confused?
Point is, you will need apple support to regain control of your apple id. If you're not attched to it and want a new or modified apple id, make sure you sign out of all assoicted devices first!

I have 2 iPads both the sane except for case color. One connects to my home wifi fine, the other will not "join". It finds the wifi name and the little circle turning wheel just spins.

Unplugged wifi on and on for about an hour.
I have compared settings between the two and cannot see any difference.
Both iPads worked fine last week. One made a trip to MI and used cellular access just fine. Now that one still uses cellular OK, but refuses to "join" the wifi.
Too bad I can't attach a picture.
Anyone care to offer a unique workable solution I have not tried?

Have you tried renewing the lease in the WiFi settings? Settings>WiFi>Your network name>Tap the blue arrow>Renew Lease. If you haven't tried that - try it first before reading the information about restoring the iOS software.
Follow the instructions in here. If you are unsure about anything - do not proceed. Post back with questions first.

Make sure that you transfer all purchases, backup the iPad and sync with iTunes first. When you restore to factory settings, iTunes should ask if you want to backup first, but it will not hurt to initiate a backup on your won before you even start the restore process.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

On the iPad you bought is running on iOS 5.o , 5.1 or 5.1.1
if both of the iPads are on 5.x.x then try using the same id on both iPads and go in setting on your daughters iPad then scroll down to app store
tap it
sign out the other id and put the same id as yours in the feild and turn on the apps download and books download also try staying near wifi (both the iPADS)
then delete your magazine on the iPad you just downloaded and try downloading it again so icloud can transfer it to the other iPad as the accounts will be same and the music app and book store will be enabled.....for some further assisstance reply
