Apple Forgot to Replace Screw's

When apple replaced my MacBook cover they forgot to out the two screws back in on the left hand side of my MacBook where all the ports are... I have only just noticed this even tho they replaced my uppercase after the magnets dug the lid of the LCD straight through the plastic... I was just wondering what i should do...?
thx for any help

Yes, well i have the same problem as u... cause i was going to take mine back because the uppercase had started to split due to the magneticlock (this happened a few months ago), but i think they will say the same thing to me as they did to u...
But don't get me wrong, i (l) apple, but they're not always as goo as they say they are....

Hello, your best bet would be to clone your drive to an external drive, which will be bootable.

You're not likely to see any updates show up for 10.5.x
The very first MacBook 1,1s can actually run 10.6, which is updatable to 10.6.8, but will only run in 32 bit mode on yours.

Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement screws for the bottom of my 2011 17" MBP? I am missing one at the bottom left. I saw one site but they only sell screws in bulk, and another that doesn't have them for the newer 2011 models. Any help would be appreciated! There is no apple store near me, I'm in eastern Canada.

You can have Apple replace the logic board, but it will be at your expense.  The free replacement program has ended.
As a band aid you may try the following:

This will allow you to run on only the integrated GPU.

  • Replacement screws for hard drives

Anyone know where I can get replacement screws--the ones that secure internal hard drives to the sleds? OWC sells the sleds, but I just need the screws.

I don't know of any place specifically for MP parts other than Apple. OWC sells the sleds as you know, so you might ask if they have the screws available for separate sale. There surely are other vendors of the sleds you may find on Google who have the part. You could try Shreve Systems who used to vend parts for all Apple computers, but I don't know if they still do.

  • Apple's Adapter Replacement Program

    Hello,
Im having trouble with my charger works sometimes and sometimes does not. I saw this article about Apple's Adapter Replacement Program (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4127).
I have an L type charger and bought my MBP in 2010. Am I eligible for this replacement?
    Thanks

    It's pretty clear here:
    Resolution
Whether your product is in or out of warranty, you can take your adapter to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement if necessary. Pending the results of evaluation, you may or may not be eligible for a replacement adapter free of charge. Signs of accidental damage would negate any coverage. Be sure to bring in the computer used with the adapter; it is required to process potential adapter replacements.
Apple Authorized Service Provider. Find one here.
Apple Technical Support. Contact us for local service options.
Apple Retail Store. Set up an appointment with a Genius.
For information about the cash payment for replacement adapters referred to in the notice, go to www.AdapterSettlement.com or call 1-888-332-0277.  You will be provided with a detailed notice and claim form package that contains everything you need.

  • A family member has given me her iPhone. How do I delete her Apple ID and replace it with my own

A family member has given me her iPhone. How do I delete her Apple ID and replace it with my own ?

Any Apps that have been downloaded with her Apple ID will remain Tied to that ID...
You should consider doing a Restore as New and start over with your ID...
Connect the Device to the iTunes library on your Computer, click on the Device tab that appears in iTunes and click Restore.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:

  • I backed up my broken ipad, returned it to Apple got it replaced and have now accidently backup'd on my computer over the top of my original Ipad Back up.  how do I get previous copy of my back up??

i backed up my broken ipad to my computer yesterday, returned it to Apple & got it replaced today and have now accidently backup'd on my computer over the top of my original Ipad Back up from yesterday.  Can anyone advise how do I get previous copy of my back up??

Look at this knowledge base article on iOS backups to iTunes, note where the backups are kept for your type of computer, Windows or Mac, go to that Library location and see if there are any other files with the same name as the current backup but with a different extension and date/time stamp.  If so you can edit the extension of the current backup and then change the extension of the previous backup so it looks like what was on the current and the do a restore.  iTunes will think the older backup is now new and use it to restore.
If there are no such files then you over-wrote the backup and it is gone.

  • Beware apple store iPhone replacement program

Beware apple store iPhone replacement program:
We took my daughters broken iphone 4 into an apple store and was told that the damage was not covered under warrany but for only £120 we could get a replacement iphone 4
the problem being when they helped her set  up the replacement Iphone 4 they installed os7 as the opperating system rendering the phone useless as it now runs slow, freezes & cannot use messaging at all etc
we went back to the store hoping they could HELP  &  were told that the iphone should not have these problems & to do a full restore; as it turns out the processing chip cant handle os7 which becomes Very apparent & now the store staff are suggesting that they will upgrade the phone to something newer & give us a £60 discout towards a new phone for something we paid them £120 48hr earlier.
Its not the Apple experience we have all come to love can anyone suggest how we might restore the phone to an earlier opperating system

That's nonsense. I have 2 iPhone fours and both work just fine with iOS 7. As mentioned take ti back.

  • Apple iPod Nano replacement program - question

    Hello, Apple community,
I have a question about the new replacement program of the iPod nano 1st gen.
The program doesn't state whether or not you get a refund or a new iPod nano (the small squared once with touch screen).
The program says that you'll get a replacement iPod Nano, but isn't very specific if it is the new generation.
I apologise for any spelling mistakes and such.
    Thank you for any answer,
    Pool313

    Hi lindsayfromspencerport,
I can say it is not a scam - Apple is definitely replacing the iPods.  Once I read the article and went to apple.com, that proved it.  Apple.com would never risk another class action lawsuit over this iPod.
My First Generation iPod was given to me at work for being the winner of a give-away drawing and about a year or so ago it overheated and erased all the info on the iPod.  Now it will only charge and drain the battery.  It no longer allows me to store any thing on it.
I am glad that Apple is doing this exchange.  I thought I was just out of luck and was glad I had not paid full price for it.  I love my Nano and used it constantly!!!
Just send your's in using the box and label they send you and give them 6 weeks like the apple.com website says, Apple will make good on their product.  Millions of people don't stand in line and wait weeks/months for their new products to arrive for no reason, trust me.  Oh, by the way, I know this for sure.....I work for a wireless phone service that has been dealing with Apple for Yearsssssssssssss.....and every year the same thing.  People will give anything to get a product with that apple on it.

  • Apple iPod Battery Replacement Program Experiences.

Hello, as you all know apple offers the battery replacement program for 99 dollars (now sixty something dollars). For any of you that have tried it, can you please tell us all a little about how was your experience? did you get a better ipod or a worse one? a refurbished, used or new? scratched or perfect?
please leave a comment on how your experience was with Apple's battery replacement program even if it is a very small one.

I just received my refurbished iPod back yesterday. It looked like new! The engraving was on the back, just like the unit I sent in.
However, the reason I am on the forums today is that when I plugged it in to charge the new battery before synching, I received the familiar "battery with exclamation point" screen. So now I seem to have a clean, new or refurbished unit with the same old problem. Frustrating to say the least.

  • Ipod nano 2nd gen, 5 years old, has short battery life. Can the battery be replaced? If not, does apple have a replacement program? how much?

    Details:
5 year old 2nd Gen Ipod nano only works for an hour the most. Battery may be approaching end of life.
Can this still be replaced? if not, what are my options? Does apple have a replacement program?

Just would like to share with you, my experience with a friend's Nano with a smiliar problem
The battery level could be too low to boot up the OS of the iPod, which even may corrupted (if you see a folder icon).
The best way to fix it, is to connect it with different device other than your PC as it is likely not get charge at all, e.g.
    1. car charger
    2. ac charger
    3. ipod speaker dock system
    4. using firewire cable
    5. with a Mac computer
The key is to charge the battery level up to the minimum for you to put your Nano into disk mode
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
once you see the "tick" mark, connect it with a computer, and try to do a Restore for your iPod. In case you still do not manage to get your iPod to be recognized by a PC, I am afraid you have to connect it with a Mac, very likely it will allow you to do a Restore as I did last night

  • Where can I get replacement screws for the bottom of my MacBook Pro?

I have a late 2011 13 inch MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded it from the stock 500 gigabyte 5400 RPM hard drive to a 750 gigabyte 7200 RPM Seagate Momentus XT Solid State Hybrd drive. When I was putting the screws back in the bottom case  I lost one of the small screws. Now the bottom case of my MacBook is little loose due to the missing screw. Where can I get a replacement screw?
