Apple ID Issue

I am a technician who helps people out everytime, but am disturbed with the way apple is doing there thing,  customer brings a macbook pro or anyother version you have to recover a dead os and sometimes you find that the customer does not even remember that there is something called an id when you u buy any apple item, so when you are trying to connect to apple store to recover his system you can't because the customer does not know or remember anything like that and why can't apple provide installation disks that the owner can use t re-install there systems incase of failures. what if u can't access internet where u are how can u recover your system, I know you have to buy again but again after buying still you need to connect to internet during installation why all these inconviniences please.
I think apple should simplify things for there customers because not everyone who buys apple products is a genious. let me hope you will do some thing about it because people bought there licenses why should they pay again.
why not sale applications with product keys like other companies.

Dependiing on the age of the systems you are working on there is an option for newer systems. Mac's that originally came with Lion or Mt Lion have the option to use the Online Internet Recovery system to reinstalll the Original version of OS X that came on it from the factory. To do that you do NOT need an Apple ID. That version, and the Online recovery system is TIED to the Machine and not to any individual Apple ID.
If the system is older and originally came with Snow Leopard or earlier version of OS X then you would need the original system disc. But these can be ordered from Apple at a small fee and it would be well worth your time and expense to have a set for each model year Mac you have worked on. You can use the same system discs with all of the same model year Mac computers of the same type. Being in the business of repairing Macs it would be best for you to have a set and just charge the client a nominal fee for you to use them for restoring the system after a repair.

  • More Apple Mail Issues

    We have been using Apple Mail at our school for some time with few problems. We use it as the link to an outside POP3 service. Recently, as with so many other users, we have begun to have serious issues with crashing, loss of messages and issues with both sending and receiving at times. A new one has developed now. Disk Warrior was run recently and seemed to have had decent results. Upon closer inspection, it has apparently altered the modification dates of many user files and folders, as well as mail files (all to the same date: April 1, 1976). Now with mail, users are finding the message: 'The message from <[email protected]> concerning "(subject") has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.' The account is already online. I'm not sure if this is a result of the Disk Warrior intervention, or if it is a continuation of Apple Mail issues, or both. Also, users click on one message, and another displays. If you scroll through your messages, continuous crashes occur, and sometimes all messages disappear. Fortunately, with our mail service (Gaggle), we can retrieve messages directly online.
    The issues do not occur in Entourage, and I am testing a couple of other mail applications as well. So it is definitely an Apple Mail problem. I have tried many of the fixes I have seen in other posts, but with no success. Running Disk Utility or Tech Tool has no effect. Our solution for now is to just not use Apple Mail - which our users are use to.
    I will be curious to see what solutions come out. This is a serious issue for many users.

    Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
    Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

    Event store UUIDs don't match  naming your internal HD or any other drive/partition being backed-up.  Time Machine can't be sure the OSX internal log of file changes that it normally uses is correct. 
    This happens in the following circumstances:
    •The first backup of a disk, or to a new location
    •After booting from your install disc, Recovery HD, or a different OSX volume (usually)
    •A full restore
    •Certain hardware repairs (e.g., new internal disk or logic board)
    •Removal of large exclusions
    •A very large volume of changes (especially an OSX update)
    •An improper shutdown of your Mac, or improper disconnection or power loss on the Time Machine drive
    •If it's an external HD, an improper shutdown or disconnection of the drive
    •A failed or cancelled backup
    •Many days without a backup
    It usually causes a lengthy deep scan/traversal (below), so if you see it frequently, you need to figure out why it's happening.

    Whatever the rep told you, it is complete nonsense. There is clearly a problem at your end, the Apple TV 3 is capable of more than the Apple TV 2, and you clearly have the Apple TV 2 working perfectly. Since the Apple TV 2 is able to download from the Internet properly, then my suspicion would be your problem lies on your local network. Interference is a common problem on local networks.
    Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

    As far as the flashing question mark and globe icons are concerned, your computer had lost track of its startup volume and was searching through the possibilities. The globe icon indicates that it is looking for a network to start from and the question mark indicates that it is looking for an OS X volume. To fix this, if you haven't already, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and reselect your internal HD as the startup volume.
    From what you have described, this issue does seem to have corrected itself, and the faster start up is what one would normally expect. I think that you have absolutely no reason to reinstall your system.

    Another reason may well be that, this is all Netflix do. If Apple had phone support for the iTunes Store, there would be all sorts of people calling up to find out what sort of lead they should get to connect their camera to their computer and other such completely unrelated questions.

  • ITunes Match 4010 Error - Apple Server Issue?

    I've been using iTunes Match since the day it was available, and have had no issues.  Late last week I started getting the 4010 error some others have been reporting. The library information is gathered and upload to Apple without any apparent issue.  It gets hung up at the point when the iTunes message "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..." has been up for about 30 seconds.  After that, the 4010 error appears.
    I've tried all the usual tricks and resets, including signing out, creating a new iTunes library, etc., with no success.  The error appears multiple computers under my account.
    I'm guessing this is an Apple server issue, but I'm not hearing a lot about it, so I'm beginning to wonder if it's happening to a small number of us.  Does anyone know if this is a widespread issue?

    Thanks.  I checked out those discussions before starting this one. Although they might be related, the other threads seem to mostly be about trouble initially setting up the match, trouble with uploading song information, or in one case, apparent duplicate charges from Apple.
    The problem I'm seeing is slightly different in that it happens during a download, when the server is attempting to send the match info back to iTunes.  The suggested fixes didn't work, nor did some others I tried.
    I thought the issue might be fixed with the last iTunes update, but it wasn't.  I had the same issue with 10.5.1 and 10.5.2.  It sounds like there are multiple problems on Apple's side.  It's been a week, but I guess we'll continue to wait and see.

  • A Family Apple ID issue nobody seems to be talking about.

    I've read all the threads about multiple Apple ID's and sharing an iTunes account within a family in the new ios5 world with iCloud.  But there's another issue I don't think Apple is considering.
    Kids grow up.  And when they do, you want them to pay for their own iTunes, etc!  My younger son still uses my iTunes apple ID, but a couple years ago, my older one made a new one with a new ID as soon as he was able to have his own credit card.  That means he has TWO iTunes ID's, that together, with combined purchases, make up his music library.
    Pre-iOS5 it has not been an issue.  His computer is authorized to play songs from both accounts.  But what about when he goes to iOS5 and Lion and iCloud?  He will no longer be able to have his library all together in one place. This means burning thousands of songs, losing the name of the artist/song, in the process, or... I don't know what.
    Sooner or later, I want my younger son to have his own credit card and buy HIS own songs/apps.  But the only way his entire library can be together in the cloud is if I keep paying for them on MY account.
    Please make a fix for this, Apple. Let us have a family account and associated family member accounts that allow for kids growing up!  Am I missing something?

  • TS1702 Not sharing documents with photos in by email e.g. from pages or explain everything.....apple id issue?

    I've got a work ipad.  I have 3 or 4 different email accounts on my ipad.
    I have several documents in pages which email in to work easily.
    If I add any pictures into the document in pages ir refuses point blank to email them in to myself via any email adress on my ipad.  they sit in the outbox.  The documents are def not too large to send as i've checked the mailbox size limits etc.
    Interestingly if I use a colleagues ipad and put my email accounts into their ipad I can share documents from their ipad.  This issue also occured with my old ipad (updated about 8 weeks ago).
    The only common factor linking the 2 ipads and the diff email accounts appears to be apple id which was used to set up both my old and current ipad.
    I have tried a complete restore....no luck

    Driving me demented as I need the function for work.....
    I thought the issue might be email related........but as it works if my email is set up on someone elses ipad it seems not......

    I just spoke with a technician at Apple.  I hsven't been able to verify because the wife has the phone.  but he said all that you need to do is:
    1) Go to Settings --> iTunes Store and login with your Apple ID and pwd
    2) Go to Settings --> iCloud and login with your Apple ID and pwd
    seems that the phone requires you to login to the store first...

    I think I have two apple ID accounts.
    The account I am using right now is Alexiaann22. Im like 99.9999% possitive that before this was my origonal account(rosepetttals).
    When I am buying an app in the app store the apple id is already there and all you have to do is change the password. But the apple ID thaat is there is the Rosepetttals.
    I am no longer using that email so I cannot get the password sent to it. I also cannot retrieve the password for rosepetttals because it says that the birthday I am entering is incorrect. but im pretty sure I would know my own birthday.
    I know its alittle confusing but I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks you!

  • After updating to iOS 5.0.1 iPhone 4 having some Apple ID issues on apps

    I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 and when I went to log in with my Apple ID it told me that I needed to have an email instead of a name for my Apple ID. So I went online and updated my ID to my email but now my phone says that I have apps that need to update but it still has my previous ID before I moved it to my email. I have tried going into settings and logging out and back in to the iTunes store but there is no change on those apps. For new apps I'm not having any issues at all so it looks like previous downloads before I updated.

    Have you tried this? Did/does it work? My problem is that I can no longer access my "old account".  When I use the IForget utility, I get nowhere using either the security questions or email reset instructions route. I wonder if the account is the same, the user ID just changes, but the old ID is not retained i any practical way, and therefore cannot not be summoned when running a security/password check. Does that make sense? So frustrated Right now since I cannot download my purchased apps and music.

  • Multiple Apple TV issues. Please help!

    I've had this Apple TV for almost a year now... It has a mind of its own; it works when it wants to. Sometimes my TV shows show up and work, sometimes they don't. I have to reset the **** thing almost every time I use it. Sometimes there's no picture. Sometimes there's no sound. It stopped showing up on my iMac's iTunes Device list, so I did a factory restore, and downloaded the latest software. Been trying to sync my music, movies, shows, etc. via my wireless network... It worked for the first little while, but then I had to reset the Apple TV to get it to start syncing again. And again. Now it doesn't show up on my Devices list anymore at all. Not to mention iTunes Store is super slow on my Apple TV even though I have broadband wireless. What's up with this thing? I love all my Apple products and I'd really like to be able to use my Apple TV more frequently.

    If you have issues with it loading the store slowly and you know you have an adequate broadband connection, it would suggest you have a poor network connection, which may well account for the other problems you encounter.

    i've been advised by apple to back everything up and reload it, which gives me the heeby jeebies but shouldn't be too much of a biggy asides from it being a complete waste of my time
    but one thing i have done is load up my apple TV with loads of films, and then physically deleted them from my laptop - for obvious space issues
    so will this wipe the appleTV
    or can anyone think of a fix?
    as i haven't kept back ups of a lot of the films

    Hi everyone,
    Today I tried to use my TuneIn radio app. It wouldn't connect so I thought I'd delete and reinstall as I'd been experiencing buffering issues as well in the last few days.
    I deleted the app and went into the App Store to redownload it. The App Store won't load. It just has the loading message and the little loading symbol. I went on various forums, I've done a hard reset, turned phone off and on again, closed the app down on the open apps dock on the phone, I've reset my network connections etc. Also, I'm on the latest version of the iOS software 6.1.3. The last thing I tried was to sign my Apple ID out of the iTunes and App Stores and attempt to sign in again...
    Now I can't sign in using my Apple ID. It says that it can't connect to the iTunes store. FFS!
    Has anyone had this problem before? I frequently have issues where the update screen on the App Store either takes forever to load or doesn't but this is the whole app and everything Apple related not working.
