Apple IDs in a Business for several iMACs

Can you purchase three Keynotes under one Apple ID?  This is for a business. Or do I need a Apple ID for each MAC?  I am trying to figure out what is the best method.

Your best bet is a company Apple ID for each Mac controled by your IT dept. The licese for business and institutions is different than for consumers.
You can have an Apple ID per Mac and allow multiple employees to share that Mac, or you can assign an Apple ID to an employee for mutiple Macs, such as a desktop and a laptop.

  • I'm a little confused as to how Apple ID works.  Do I need separate Apple IDs or email addresses for iMessage, iCloud, and Facetime?

Do I need separate Apple IDs or email addresses for iMessage, iCloud, and Facetime?
Everytime I attempt to use my Apple ID associated with iTunes with iMessage, iCloud, or Facetime, it tells me: 'Unable to verify email because it is already in use'.  I've been playing around with it and find when I enter another email address other then the one associated with my iTunes account, it'll work.  So it seems that my Apple ID will log me into the cloud (or whatever it may be), but I need another email address for the messages to be sent to?  Perhaps somebody can clarify for me.  Thanks in advance!

activation of imessage requires the ability to send an SMS message to a number commencing with +44.  Do you have the ability to send international text messageswhile  in Japan?

Update software. If that doesn't work try resetting.  Mine started working after the update.

  • HT204053 Can I use any of two Apple IDs to purchase apps for the same iPad?

    Hello,
I have two Apple IDs, one for the iTunes US store and the other for the UK store.  Can I purchase apps from either store for the same iPad (4th. Gen.)?

Yes, although it's best to associat your iPad with one Apple ID otherwise you will need to constantly switch.
Change iTunes Store Country on an iDevice
    1. Tap Settings;
    2. Tap iTunes & App Stores;

    6. Tap Change Country/Region;
    7. Select the region where you will be located;
    8. Tap Done.

  • I would like to upgrade my Imac 8,1 from 1 Gb to 4Gb RAM. Apple does not have memory for this Imac but recommended Crucial, Kingston or Ramjet. I have noticed a difference in pricing and would like to know if there are differences in their chips?

I would like to upgrade my Imac 8,1 (20 inch early 2008) from 1Gb RAM to 4 Gb. Apple no longer provides 800Mhz2DDR2 SDRAM but recommended Crucial, Kingston or RAMjet.
Are there any difference in these vendors chips as the price range is from $51-$99?
    Thanks, Johng

I'm coming late to this string because I now have the same issue as gillnfly and you have all solved virtually all of my questions - thanks!  My only other question to add to what you've already said is - I currently have 1 G of memory installed.  Can I ADD a 2G card to get to 3G (probably more than I need), or should cards match if you have more than 1 - i.e., 2 1G cards or replace existing 1G with a 2G, or even 2 2G cards (way more than I need).
Thanks for your spot-on comments!  I already found the OWC website and you've confirmed that's the best place to go.

  • Can I use two different Apple IDs on one device for music?, Can I use two different Apple IDs on one device for music?

I have a band's album but they are relasing a deluxe album on presale but only for UK.
I have a pen pal who could send me a UK iTunes card since those are region locked but if I make another Apple ID in the "UK," could I still download it (after switching iTunes store region) on my iPod with my USA songs?
Sorry if my explination was a little confusing, if you have any questions you can ask me in the comments.

This would be a violation of the terms of use of the itunes store and could result in the loss of your account.
You cannot use the U.K. itunes store unless you are in the U.K

  • Connect 2 iPhones with 2 different apple ids to the macbook for updates and backup through iTunes match and iCloud. How can i make that happen?

We have a mac book pro and 2 i phones 4S. We both have different Apple Id's. But we would like to connect both phones to the mac book in order to update photos and itunes match. I subscribed with my apple id to itunes match and it automatically updates apps, music, books etc. However the apple id of my husbands phone is not recognized so his music, apps etc are not automatically updated. The same happens with icloud.
How can we make the mac book recognize both phones?

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered
    Go here > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
Manage your Apple ID and see if that does the trick
    Hope that helps

  • 2 Apple IDs on my iPhone for the AppStore

The Apple ID within my iPhone's Settings for App Store is different than that Apple ID that is brought up with trying to Update appls.  How do I make them consistent?  I have tried turning the power off.
This is also happening on my iPad1.  I can't get an old Apple ID to be disassociated from my AppStore despite changing it in Settings.

Did you change the account info in iTunes/Store menu on your computer as well?

  • Using different Apple IDs, but the same for Find My Phone

In my family, we have 4 iPhones and an iPad. I want to allow each member of the family to have a separate Apple ID for iCloud. But I want to be able to find all the phones from the iPad. I understand that, to do that, you need to use the same Apple ID for "Find my Phone". But after researching it, it appears that Find my Phone requires you log in to iCloud. I know you can use a common Apple ID for Apple Store, but how do I do this for Find my Phone? I want each family member to have their own iCloud account.
    Thanks in advance.

I have read a little about that, but I need it to actually send a signal to the phone like how "Find my Phone" does it.
I have 2 kids, they are constantly misplacing their phones in the house. It comes in handy to send it a signal to make a noise, especially since they always leave the phone on vibrate, so calling it doesn't work. Right now everyone uses my Apple ID, so it works great. But I would like it if each of them would get their own Apple ID.
So let me ask this: When they set up their new phone, can the use a different (their own) Apple id to set up the phone. Not setup iCloud to start. Then go back later and setup iCloud but specify "my" Apple ID (like they must be doing today). And then enable "Find my Phone".
What does it buy them to use their own Apple ID when setting up a new device? Does it matter? The reason we use the same ID now is so everyone can get the same apps when I buy them. If iCloud and Find my Phone could use separate ID, this wouldn't be an issue.
    Thanks for the suggestion!
UPDATE: Let me just add, we never backup to iCloud, we always use iTunes on our Macs.

  • Deploy app from iTunes Store to multiple iPads. Without Apple IDs/iTunes Accounts for iPads.

I can't find a simple answer to this question from Apples flashy "documentation" or from any online straighforward guides.
There is an app called "Articulate Mobile Player" that we want to deploy to our fleet of iPads. These iPads do not have Apple IDs/iTunes Accounts configured for them to access the iTunes store.
We have access to the Apple Configurator for Windows and Trend Micro MDM (Mobile Security and App Management for BYOD).
From what I can ascertain perhaps we need to create VPP account, "purchase" the free app required to gain access to the .IPA file, then either use our MDM solution or Configurator to place the app on devices.
Will we then need an Apple ID/iTunes Account to use the App?
Is there further requirements such as certificates and such? The iPads are configured to use the Trend MDM for app deployment as far as I am aware.
Thanks for the help and hopefully prompt response on exactly what is required for what is a really simple requirement and should not be this complicated.

That was quick!! So to double check on the statement:
"If both the Dutch apps + the newly downloaded HK app are visible (ON THE DEVICE), then I should be able (ON THE DEVICE) to switch back to my Dutch Apple ID, to keep receiving updates on my Dutch apps (including, and not limited to, newspapers, magazines, etc), Accepting that I would not be able to receive updates of the HK app."
    This is a valid statement?

  • Too late to exchange for Intel iMac?

I've had my iMac G5 for roughly a month, and it's been great! However, I find myself wishing that I had gone ahead and bought the Intel iMac. Does anyone know if Apple will accept a return for no reason other than that? I bought directly from the Apple Store...
    iMac G5 iSight 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

"The question I would ask is...why did Apple go with Intel?"
Apple chose Intel over AMD for several big reasons. First, they wanted to have the best power to watt ratio for their laptops and Intel has that over AMD. The Pentium Ms run cooler and give better battery life than the Turion 64s.
Second, Apple wanted to be able to use Intel's motherboard R&D. AMD does not make MoBos, but Intel does and they are good ones.
AMD also laggs behind Intel when looking at the projected roadmaps. Yes, we all know AMD beats the pants off Intel right now, but Intel's roadmap is clearer and better than AMDs. That could change of course, but Apple needed to switch to Intel quickly and efficiently, and having a solid plan ahead of them was the better way to go.
Now that OS X and Apple apps are on schedule to go native x86, later iterations of the Mac line could indeed go AMD if they wanted to. Intel probably cut Apple a sweetheart deal to use there chips exclusively for a while, but Apple has shown the kind of adaptivity and flexibility that many PC manufacturers would love, but haven't been able to achieve.
BTW, I think Apple has dropped the ball on Boot Camp. Virtualization is the way to go, not dual booting. I hope that Boot Camp is a precursor to something more like Parallel's http://www.parallels.com/en/products/workstation/mac/A>Workstation that allows you to run Windows apps side by side without rebooting.
Running Windows natively might be a boon for gamers, but for professionals that rely on Windows only software, it would be a huge pain to reboot several times a day just to switch applications.

  • I Need To Make More Apple iDs

I work at a business that needs to make more than 3 Apple iDs a day, i say 3 because it seems after  we make 3 accounts through the iTunes Store it gives a "Your Session has timed out" Error. Is there any way around this? thanks.

  • 2 Apple ids and can't connect

I have 2 apple ids and one is for iCloud through my new Macbook Air. I don't remember the password for that id and whenever I try to change it it reverts to the other id. Any ideas on how to fix? Get rid of the second id? I can't connect to anything, icloud, ical, etc.

OK, so the Apple ID on your iCloud is what your current Apple ID used to be, or it is a different ID altogether?

  • How to fix out of sync devices which have used 2 apple Ids?

I have been working with the iCloud help desk over the last couple days on this but let me explain the situation:
I have 2 apple IDs.  one I use for iTunes access/purchases, etc. it happens to be my day to day email.  the other ID happens to be associated with my mac.com email which I use for separate email purposes.
I use an ipadair, iPhone 4, mac. all are updated with most current IOS release.
The issue is the lack of synchronization between the devices.  I primarily enter my contacts, calendars, reminders via my desktop mac/apple apps, i.e. ical, contacts and reminders.  However when I am away from my desktop i enter via my ipadair typically. The help desk did help and we were able to sync all of them via the Mail/Contacts/Calendars setups for new entries, rather than iCloud settings and any activated syncing via iTunes.  I know that there is a way to get this sorted/combined without losing any data.
What I have discovered during my discussions with the help desk, if we take the contact lists as an example, is that I have a set of contacts entered separately and perhaps synced on my iPad that are not showing up anywhere else, for example the name Mia on my iPad does not show up on my iPhone or Mac contact list.
the record counts are different, Mac contacts have 1459, iCloud apple ID 1 has 1386 and iCloud apple ID2 has 1434(each essentially are named after an email address; 1 of which is connected to my iTunes account, and although I cannot tell how many records are on my ipadair in contacts, I know that some of those contacts are different and have not synced across to my iPhone or Mac apps.
So the question is how to get them all synced(iCloud apple ID 1(primary), iCloud apple ID 2, iPad contacts, Mac contacts without losing any contacts....i'm less concerned about duplicates, because I can manually delete dupes if they occur.  Just trying to get to one method of syncing....noting that when I set these up originally i used iTunes syncing and it seemed to add duplicates never was in sync and all contact list were messed up...i am sure that is because of the 2 iCloud IDs, but I do not know how to fix it so I do not lose any contacts/can clean from one source and also of course utilize syncing for calendar, reminders, etc. retaining my separate apple ID for ITunes and the other for all this synchronization.
    thanks.

    You need to:
    1) Go to appleID.apple.com, log in with [email protected], and then change the AppleID/Primary Email back to [email protected] Sign out.
    2)  Delete the icloud account on the iphone. Enter the password when prompted.
    3) Go back to appleID.apple.com, log in with [email protected], then change the AppleID/primary email back to [email protected]
