Apple keyboard won't pair with any devices

I just cleaned my niece's apple wireless keyboard using the mister clean magic eraser. I did not removed the batteries in doing so. What happened was the keyboard did not interact properly with the mac that it was connected to. Now I've tried replacing the battery with a new one. I tried pairing this keyboard to my iPad air and macbook pro. It won't pair with both devices. When I tried putting in the numbers that the computer gives me there's a delayed response. Is they keyboard broke. Apple should've placed a reset button on the keyboard. I don't know what to do.

i just used the mr. clean magic eraser. it's a sponge that you use to wipe out the dirt. it did a good. I just didn't remove the batteries or the KB was on at that time so the LED indicator was blinking. When I was done cleaning my niece notice that it wouldn't funciton properly. I tried pairing it again. I followed that step were you had to hold the power button for 6 seconds to reset it. It still did not pair. I tried pairing it to my mac and ipad air. It won't pair at all. Whenever I type in the code to pair it. It would stop pairing at the first number that I typed. So I don't know what to do next. Apple should've placed a small reset button to reset the whole KB.

  • HT204368 Iphone won't pair with any bluetooth devices

Iphone won't pair with any bluetooth speakers, earbuds or car stereo. The devices pair with other phones computers etc. Jawbone Jambox says it's paired with Iphone but Iphone still says not paired! what's wrong? Iphone also doesn't ring or signal text or reminders just vibrates.

did that already twice. no pairings listed until I turn on bluetooth device then it just say not paired and pairing not successful. Jambox says it's paired but Iphone says not paired. Plus the ringer problem. When I choose a ring tone or sound it plays but when the I get an incoming call or text it just vibrates. And sometimes Itunes and youtube has no sound. What's going on?

Apple Bluetooth keyboard won't pair with new iPad mini

I have same results. I have an ipad mini and it will not pair with my apple keyboard. I bought a mini keyboard with bluetooth 3.0 and it will not pair either.  Is my ipad defective?  Or do i need a keyboard with bluetooth 4.0?  Also - the mini keypad will pair with my ipad2 and my iphone 4.  Only difference I can find is the ipad mini has bluetooth 4.0.  Seems it should be downward compatible but maybe not.. I am not a blutooth expert!

  • My wireless keyboard won't pair with my computer

help, my wireless keyboard won't pair with my computer.  the green light blinks and it won't sync during the pairing process.

    Did it pair earlier??
I just lost my Wireless kbd Bluetooth connection twice recently. And found the following solution:
    1. Delete the kbd from Bluetooth system prefs.
    2. Shut down the kbd
    3. In system prefs, keyboard choose "Configure Bluetooth keyboard..." at the bottom
    4. Press the power button on the kbd until the green LED blinks, kbd gets detected
    5. Switch OFF the kbd
    6. Click "Continue"
    7. Power on the kbd as described in 4.
    8. Kbd gets paired, enter the digit code and Enter
    9. Go to system prefs, Bluetooth and add the kbd as a favorite
That did it for me. Hope it works for you, too.

  • My iPad 4 won't pair with any of my Bluetooth devices. What's up?

Just got my iPad 4 and I'm trying to share some things between it and my galaxy S3. My phone pairs with the pad, the pad won't pair with phone. After further investigation, the pad won't pair with my husbands iPhone 5 or our MAC. I feel like I've tried everything I could before asking for help... Any ideas?

I do appreciate the reply But, what would explain the inability to pair with anything else?

  • My iPod touch won't pair with other devices

While trying to pair with another iPod device using Bluetooth the device said " sherry's device not supported" how do I fix this problem so I can b able o pair with other devices.? Help please

An iPod can pair to an iPhone for tethering to the phones internet connection if the phone is subscribed to the optional tethering data plan. An iPod can also pair with another iPod (and iDevice) via app that allow peer-to-peer pairing.  That is mainly for gaming.  See the following for more information on BT:

  • Apple wireless keyboard won't pair with mac or ipad

Just bought an Apple Wireless Keyboard. When I turn it on it is in discovery mode but doesn't want to pair.
Ipad 4 ios 7 : small window appears asking for a four-digit code and return. When I press these buttons nothing happens until half a minute later an error message appears saying ipad wasn't able to pair with the keyboard.
Macbook pro 13 (2009) mavericks : system preferences -> keyboard. When i try to add it the windows with the 8 digit code appears. Sometimes although i pressed one key it's telling me i pressed two. And it NEVER takes the RETURN key. ://

I would call AppleCare or take it in to an Apple store.....it may be faulty.

  • Apple tv won't pair with macbook air

Apple TV 2 - trying to get it to pair with macbook air using bluetooth: The Apple TV continues to search with the spinning thing; the macbook air shows that it sees the apple tv, displays the 6 digit code that apple tv should then also display, but  the apple tv just continues to search.  After a few minutes, the macbook air returns a pairing failed statement.  I've tried several times.  I have rebooted both.  Macbook air is now running OS X 10.10 Yosemite.  Apple TV is showing version 7.0 (6897.5). Oh, I'm sitting 6 ft from the apple tv, but I moved to within 24 in and still same failure.  Any help would be welcome.  Thanks

As follow up, and for what it may be worth(likely not much), I talked to a staffer at an Apple Store the other day about this.  He said this capability is meant for, and can only be used with a dedicated bluetooth keyboard.  I tried this when I returned home, as my desktop iMac uses a bluetooth KB.  I "unconnected" the KB from the iMac, then took it to the other room in an attempt to establish the bluetooth connection to the ATV.  Still no success.  And as I was attempting this, I realized that, with using the KB only, that is, no "attached screen" as with the Macbook air, I could not see how I could make a connection, because when I had previously tried to connect my Macbook Air, the Air screen was showing that it was attempting to pair with the ATV, and it displayed a 6 digit code that then was supposed to also be displayed on the TV screen attached to the ATV. If I continued to attempt to pair the dedicated KB only, how would this dedicated KB "with no screen" display a 6 digit code?  So the mystery continues.

  • My iPhone will not pair with any devices on bluetooth, help?

I can't seem to pair my iPhone 4 with any other phones or devices.

    PAISLEYSAINT
I have a THB Bury car phone cradle specific to the iPhone 4 which was working fine until I updated to iOS 5.1.1 - my phone will no longer pair with it or recognise it or any other Bluetooth device !
I carried out a full reset and relaunched the phone as if it were new - no success
I took the phone to the appple store and one of the Geniuses looked at it for me. He told me it was not designed to 'discover' other BT devices after he paired it with his MacBook but could not pair the devices in the opposite direction - i.e my phone to the MacBook. I thought this strange that the premier smart phone on the market should not have this function especially when it previously worked well.
He also carried out a full reset which is deeper than the one you can do at home - no success.
The genius would not accept that this was a fault and claimed not to be aware of any issues but offered to have it repaired for around £116 !!!
Incidentally my phone is just outside its  warranty and his phone would not pair up either when I asked him to check.
THis is useless to me !! I understand Apple don't want to support BT function that allows it customers to send files between devices but come on ! My £90 BT car cradle kit is now useless and cannot be paired via my iPhone.
I now really have to consider using a smart phone that will work.
I love apple stuff and currently own no less than four different devices and was considering a new mac but not now. I feel let down by apple.
    DIssapointed !:-(
    iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1
I have this question too (0)

  • Bluetooth Dongle Stopped Working - Now Keyboard Won't Pair With New Dongles

    Hi All,
If anyone can shed some light on this I would be massively grateful.
I've been using an old dlink usb bluetooth adapter with my 2007 8 core Mac Pro running OS X 10.6.2. This had been working with my old style bluetooth mac keyboard (the white one with the number panel).
Recently the dongle stopped working (the lights went out and it wouldn't come back to life). I've bought 2 new dongles (HK-760 USB 2.0 & Belkin Mini Bluetooth Adapter) and neither of these seem to connect to the keyboard in Bluetooth Setup Assistant. I get this message: 'The pairing attempt was unsuccesful. This configuraton of Mac OS X and Bluetooth software could be invalid or unsupported.'
I took the keyboard to the Mac Store and it connected to an iMac there, so figure it's not the keyboard.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Update: I tried to link the keyboard to my old G3 which it used to work with no problems an it took ages to link up and then on restart wouldn't link up. I'm thinking it might be a faulty old keyboard that died of a broken heart when the bluetooth dongle passed away. Poor thing

  • How to fix wireless apple keyboard that ceased pairing with imac at the same time the keyboard on my ipad2 disappeared right after I updated osx vs. 10.8.5 sent out by Apple

I updated to OSX vs. 10.8.5 sent out by Apple on Oct 4,2013. My wireless
Apple keyboard is no longer paired to my imac and at the same time I noted that the keyboard on my ipad2 no longer exists. At first I thought it was an icloud issue but am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

I downloaded 10.8.5 Supplementary and this time there was a picture of my keyboard with the suggestion that I power it on, which I did many times. Finally re-booted my imac and shut down BlueTooth on my ipad. I now have a keyboard back on the ipad and my wireless keyboard on the imac is working.

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard won't pair with iMac...

I just bought a new 27" iMac and had customized and shipped from Apple (didn't buy it off the shelf in the Apple Store).
When the new iMac got here today, I connected it to my aftermarket (wired USB) keyboard and trackball. It works fine.
My problem is that I need to use my old iMac for several days while I get files off of it, etc. (don't want to use migration assistant). My old iMac is last year's 24" model.
When I start my old iMac, it comes on and brings up a "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" window and starts automatically searching for a bluetooth keyboard. I read the instructions online, and powered-on the Apple Wireless Keyboard that came with my new iMac. I powered on this new keyboard, and my old iMac starts to recognize it (it says "Attempting to connect to keyboard"), but then says there has been an error, and doesn't recognize it.
The instructions online say that when I power on my Apple Wireless Keyboard, the green light on it should start blinking. It doesn't. It just comes on for about three seconds and goes off.
What's wrong? I need to get my old iMac to recognize this keyboard. I can't even safely shut if off if it doesn't. Could it be that it was already paired to the iMac it came with? I've replaced the batteries, and still it doesn't work. Please help!
    Thanks!

Well, of course that had occurred to me. But I need to use both computers at once for a while, and I only have one wired, USB keyboard.
Anyway, I eventually got it to work. I still don't know what the problem was.

  • I cannot get my iPhone 5s to Bluetooth pair with any device - it is continually searching for devices

I want to pair my iPhone 5s with the Mini Boombox I was using with my iPhone 3Gs.
Once the iPhone Bluetooth setting has been switched on the 5s just continually searches for devices and finds nothing - although the Boombox is beside it on my table (yes, and switched on).
