Apple problems in general any help
Please stay with me!
For 2 years I have run a Macbook Pro connected to a large Apple monitor. This system has been fairly bullet proof an has given me no problem. I am an amateur photographer and only use a computer for editing (Photoshop) and storing photos and music.The Macbook comes home with me in the evenings and is plugged into the monitor when I get to work, it is plugged into the office network and has the choice of 4 different printers including 2 large Canon and an A3 Epsom. This system has proved very successful. The 2 screens gave me the chance to do both business and private work at the same time by keeping an eye on both at the same time!
My problems stared when iphoto couldn't be opened, I tried for several weeks on and off but didn't worry too much because I don't actually use it much anyway. I decided to buy iLife 11 and hoped that the upgrade would resolve the problem. ILife wouldn't load because it told me to upgrade to Snow Leopard. I ordered it and installed it when it arrived. Not only did it not cure my iPhoto problems it also knocked out all my drivers for printers and scanner.I asked our computer service company to come in and have a look, they spent 4 hrs before I got back to somewhere near where I was to begin with. The problem is computer companies seem to be less geared up to solve Mac issues, they seem to lean toward PC.s. The problem is our company has all PC's, mine is the only Mac!
This took place about 3 weeks before Christmas. Knowing that my Macbook was bulging at the seems my wife bought me an iMac 27" for Christmas (after months of hints). The service guy came in to install between Christmas an New Year. He struggled with the print setup but when he left everything seemed ok. I produce A3 calendars at this time of year, but when I tried to print on one of the Canon A3 printers, as I have done hundreds of times, it kept coming up with "out of paper" even though it was full. Today I have had the printer service guy in today who has loaded more drivers etc. He never solved the problem, and left saying that the new IMac to too sophisticated for the Canon printers!!!
I have, with a struggle, managed to print some A4 pages but the A3 seem to print only the top quarter of the page.
I realise that this is probably one of the longest things ever put on here but short of having a fire in the back garden, I am struggling!

P.s The monitor that I was hoping to run along side my iMac, as I did with the Macbook has completely different connections, I haven't even looked at that issue yet.

Have you tried booting with the install disc that came with your computer?
Find it and then run Disk Utility to verify your hard drive. If errors are found, try to repair the disk.
It sounds as if the hard drive might be failing.

Besides setting the iTunes store to the US, you will also need
a credit card issued in the US with billing address in the US;
you also are supposed to be located in the US when using the
US store, and there are periodic software checks to verify that.
Simply changing the iTunes store to the US iTunes store will
not allow you to make purchases/download free apps without
meeting the other requirements. Do you meet them? -

ThankssThank you for responding to my question so promptly! My Apple ID for my iCloud account on my MacBook is the correct (i.e. my @mac.com) email address. Do I need to sign out and then sign back in after I have changed/updated my details on my iPad?
When I look at the 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' details on my iPad under the heading 'Accounts' it first shows my @me.com account and the items under that account are 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Find My iPad' - when I expand the account details it shows that my iCloud Account is actually my @mac.com email adddress.
The second entry is iCloud which is currently my @gmail.com account. Under this account are 'Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, Reminders, PhotoStream, Documents & Data, Backup.
The third account is headed Gmail and is, indeed, my @gmail.com account, too. Under this account it shows 'Mail, Calendars, Notes'.
Am I correct in suspecting that the reason for my having multiple occurrences of both events in Calendars and people in Contacts is because more than one account is syncing Contacts and Calendars?

Ipod Nano Problem sync/playing - Any help greatly appreciated
I've looked through the forum for others with problems but none seem to match mine. I am here on behalf of my girlfriend who has had a nano for christmas and up to now been using it fine, but this morning she tried connecting it to the computer and when she plugged the cable in it gave the "synchronising" message with the rotating arrows but then after a few seconds just gives the "safe to disconnect" message and goes back to the main screen, without even appearing on itunes. on top of that, the ipod will not play any songs, when you push play the icon changes in the corner to say its playing but the time bar stays in the same position and no music can be heard.
I have tried resetting the ipod, going into disk mode, using diagnostics mode. restarting the computer, using another usb port, reinstalling itunes. nothing is shifting it. cant format it or restore as it doesnt get to connect to itunes in the first place. any help would be amazing as i dont want to have to send it back to apple. thankyou.I've looked through the forum for others with problems but none seem to match mine. I have an iPhone 4S and use the group texting feature ALL THE TIME. I recently updated my iPad to the latest software and made the colossal mistake of continuing my group messaging from my iPad while connected to wifi. Doing this has successfully screwed but every group text thread I am in, to the point where its very hard for those involved in the thread to keep up. When I initially messaged those I was already engaged in text threads with it created a new thread in their phones replacing my name in their phones with my email. At first this was not a big deal but ever since then the people I am messaging have become increasingly frustrated with how my messages come through. If I am messaged in a group text and respond to it, sometimes when I respond it will create an entirely different thread in my recipients phones. So at that point they have to switch threads in order to read what I wrote. The new thread that my phone creates will send the message under my email not my name (related to the contact they have me saved as in their phones). The worst part about it is that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to why or when my phone will send the message as normal or under my email like it did with my iPad. I haven’t messaged from my iPad since these problems immediately began a month ago but the issues still continue. I have tried everything to get this to stop, I’ve turned off my wifi, I’ve had my friends delete the threads that my messages create in their phones. I’ve had them delete my email in their contact lists and nothing has worked. Can you help me? Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Note: My phone message no different whatsoever. All the threads have remained the same. The issue is what it is doing to the people that I am messaging.

Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was using my mac as normal and then my resultion on mr screen changed which i have fixed using the normal methods but i still continue on getting a horizontal line whereever my cursor is even after i have restarted and shut down. The line is a white colour but my other screens seem dulled wherever this line is not following it is not a solid white. It looks like its in a diagnostic mode or somthing. Any help would be appriciated, thanks.
It is possible there is a problem with the computer's graphics, but try a simple fix. viz. reset the NVRAM / PRAM.
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys. -
Iphone Restore Problem (Error 1011) Any Help?
I am (was?) the proud owner of a 25 day old iPhone. Yesterday I got the "unable to make calls need repair" message. I've been trying for hours to get my phone to recover using itunes. It downloads all the all the firmware (version 1.1.4) but just as it is about to finish I get a message
The iPhone could not be restored, error 1011.
Any help/suggestions?
Thanks!we might not be thinking of the same notification. when your fone is in sleep mode and you press the sleep/wake button on top, do u always see a message that says something along "Your iPhone cannot make/recieve call. Please visit www.apple.com/support" (Emphasis on that last part.) have you contacted apple? have you reset your iphone. have you tried restarting your iphone (probably) have you tried to restore ion a different computer? i would try all of these before calling apple bc most likely that is what they will have you do.

How did you originally install iWork on the Mac Pro? was it preinstalled? The machine seems old enough that you should have an original install DVD that came with the mac pro.

To move tables between sheets you can select the table, copy, then paste after activating (by clicking) the destination sheet. If you really mean move, then use the cut command (rather than copy).
To copy... use the menu item "Edit > Copy"
To cut... use the menu item "Edit > Cut"
Then paste in the destination -

Thats the flat battery screen.
- Try another cable
- Try another wall adaptor
- Check the iPhone charging port to see if there is any damage or debris
If the iPhone does not charge with known working cables/adaptors I would suggest to take the iPhone into an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider for evaluation and if need be service. -

Have had Infinity for around a month now and it was absolutely mega until about a week ago when it completely stopped working and the DSL light began flashing on the Openreach Modem. I called support and they arranged for an engineer to call two days later. After testing my installation he decided that the Openreach Modem was faulty and so replaced it like for like.
My problem is that before it broke I was averaging 37 Mbps and since it was repaired the best that I have been able to get is 27 Mbps, a drop of 10 Mbps. Why has this happened and is there anything I can do to restore my original speed? Any advice or help offered will be greatly appreciated!

first of all I want to tell u that my English is not perfect but I try to explain exactly what I want.
So, I bought C3 about 4 days ago, then I saw there's a lot of problems with WLAN in C3 but I try to make my own settings in Configuration and then it work and always phone asks me what I want to use: WLAN or GPRS. It was great because I get what I want. But yesterday I want to update my software, because my was from June I think 2010.. Nevermind.. So.. I go to Main Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Update Phone (or something like that.. you know what I mean) > Download update. And then phone should ask me which connection I want to use but it won't. It's just started to connecting to GPRS.
What I can do to work it out? Because it's really annoying..

Greetings, Spindender!i newly purchased a Nokia c 3-00 with the firmware version 4.65. My WLAN does not work. It detects WLAN connections available but when i try to connect the phone to the network it shows "Connection Failed". The WEP key is Right and i am near the Router and there is no problem with the router as other Nokia Phones connect with no problems. The Nokia Website is showing a firmware update of 7.20 but when i enter my phone product code it shows that the firmware 4.65 is the latest available for my phone. I have checked the C 3-00 phones of my friends on various routers and all those phones seem to have the same problem.
Please Help Me out...
If i need to update my phone to 7.20 how do i do it ? Nokia software updater shows my firmware is the latest. -
