Apple TV stuck on commercials?

When streaming content via the ABC Television application, the stream stops at the end of a commercial break and repeats the video and audio from the last 1 second. Fast forwarding past this point allows the show to continue, but this is very disruptive.
Apple TV has been rebooted. No additional OS updates are available. Your help is appreciated.

I had this same issue and what worked for me was power cycling my wireless network and the Apple TV. However, if the issue persists, here are a couple articles that will walk you through troubleshooting this issue.

It is now locked to the original carrier. Sounds like that was Orange. Only the carrier the phone is locked to can authorize the unlock of the phone. You may be able to use it again on Orange, or if they provide unlock services you may be able to get it unlocked, however I have read of many phones that have been hacked to unlock not accepting the factory unlock. I just went through this last night. (Aug 15, 2013)
What I did to get back up and running. This is not the first time I have lost the network connection with my Apple TV 3
Products effected: Apple TV 3 and Home Sharing (My Apple TV 1 was not effected)
Power down (unplug) the Apple TV and power down your router ( in my case, it is a FIOS router, flipping the on/off works fine).
Power both items back up.
At this point, I usually can reenter my Apple ID and PW. and reconnect Home Sharing. But for some reason I was unable to reconnect last night but was able to get it reconnected in the morning. I was jut to tired to deal with it last night.
A new issue that is was able to fix after a good nights sleep.
I did figure out, (after trying to reenter my ID and PW many times and having it tell me that my ID and PW was wrong), that when using the Apple TV on screen keypad to type in the user ID. DO NOT use the ".com" keypad button. Instead type out each character for .com. ( or what ever ending you use for your ID account.)
Once I typed out my full ID and PW. everything is back to 100%

I had the same problem. It appears that the servers chuck a hissy fit if you don't download your purchases in a timely fashion. I used the 'report a problem' feature in my iTunes account to contact customer support via email. They replied about 24 hours later, reset my download cue and the problem has now been resolved.

Maybe:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Then try restoring on another computer.
Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Apple mail stuck loading

Apple mail stuck on loading of any message.
Worked fine from my iPad or browser.

Options:
Restart computer
Restart Mail
Reindex Mail
How to reindex Mail
Go to your User's Library folder. (if you don't know how to find, see this link.)
Scroll to Mail folder.
Select the V2 > MailData folder.
Delete any files in MailData with envelope in the name. (should be 3)
When you open Mail it will re-index your files.
If you still have problems....
Go to Containers in the User's Library folder.
Delete the com.apple.mail folder.
Go to Preferences in the User's Library folder.
If you find any com.apple.mail.plist files, delete these.
Log out under the Apple in the Menu bar
Log in
Open Mail.

I'm stuck with similar problem.. I recently started using apple products and because I mostly use my macbook for writing, I didn't use iTunes. One day I managed to get FaceTime to chat with friends and therfore I had to create an apple id. Everything went smoothly until I tried to use iTunes Store with my iPod. iTunes asks me to review my account and although it is fully functional I cannot change any detail because I don't own a credit card, and therfore cannot get any free app!
What is funny, when it comes to creating an account through iTunes, there is an option 'None' in Credit Card section. When I try to do the same using my existing account it simply doesnt't let me do this.
I need a solution to set it properly or an option to permanently delete existing account and recreate it using iTunes. Using another email account is not an option e.g. creating another account must be done with the same email as the one I used for the current account.
I was looking for an answer but with no luck. Apple submitted great tutorials for creating accounts but didn't supply users with answers for problems like mine(which apparently is very common!).
If there is anyone from Apple reading such posts, I'd be happy to see a solution for this problem.

Apple TV stuck in Recovery Menu

My Apple TV had been working in an almost perfect fashion for almost six months with the exception that I could only stream content from my iTunes library and couldn;t sync content with the exception of photos. I proceeded to Restore to Factory Settings and since then I've been stuck in the Apple TV Recovery Menu.
I've searched the forum endlessly for other posts and I could only find one directing me to the following instructions:

I performed all the steps in that link (detailed below) and I'm still stuck in the Apple TV Recovery Menu.
Has anyone run into the similar issues? Any ideas on how to fix this will be GREATLY appreciated.
1. Hold down the Menu and Menu down/scroll buttons on the remote for approximately 3 to 5 seconds, until the LED on Apple TV flashes yellow. (OK I DID THIS)
2. After Apple TV restarts, a screen appears asking you to pick a language. Select the language you wish to use. (OK I CHOOSE ENGLISH)
3. The Apple TV Recovery screen appears with 3 selections:
* Restart
* Run Diagnostics
* Factory Restore
If the Apple TV intro movie plays instead, repeat the first step. (OK THIS FAR)
4. Select Run Diagnostics. The screen displays "Running diagnostics" and a spinning disc cursor appears. (OK THIS FAR)
5. Upon successful completion of the diagnostics, the screen displays "Your Apple TV is working correctly." Select Done to return to the Apple TV Recovery screen and then select Restart to return your Apple TV to normal operation. (I GET A WORKING CORRECTLY MESSAGE AND THEN RETURN TO THE RECOVERY SCREEN AND SELECT RESTART BUT INSTEAD OF APPLE TV GOING INTO NORMAL OPERATION I GET THROWN BACK TO THE "CHOOSE LANGUAGE" SCREEN AND THEN "CHOOSE RESOLUTION" AND THEN BACK TO THE APPLE TV RECOVERY MENU
6. If the Apple TV Recovery screen reappears, unplug the power cable from your Apple TV and plug it back in. Your Apple TV should restart normally. (I TRIED THIS BUT I END UP IN THE SAME SPOT AS BEOFRE UNPLUGGING)

I too am having this problem. I've got a ton of stuff synched to it, including some rented videos, and dread having to reload it, but I eventually tried the restore option. It gave me an error and refused to to that.
For the past two weeks I've been having more and more problems with the unit. Each time I run the diagnostics it says there is nothing wrong.
I've made an appointment with an Apple genius tomorrow to try to get some answers.

Apple icon stuck on screen

I have had my ipod mini for a while, but like two days after the warranty ran out it quit working. When i plug it up to my computer it comes up on the ipod mini screen as if its charging, but after awhile the apple icon comes up and stays there! Also my computer doesnt recognize it when i plug it up. Ive tried all the reseting options, etc but the apple icon is still stuck on the screen! can anyone help? PLEASE!

Settings> General> Accessibility> turn AssistiveTouch off.
OR is it the Apple logo on a black screen that you are referring to?

Ipad's in Apple Configurator stuck at downloading iOS

Trying update 21 Ipads through Apple Configurator. However they are now all stuck on the downloading iOS. Have tried disconnecting and reconnecting, but it does not let my do anything to them and starts downloading as soon as they connect.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

Help Apple..Stuck in Italy with 3.0

Was in London and 3G phone worked perfectly. Downloaded 3.0 and since then have had impossible time connecting to server for mail. Both in London and Italy I constantly receive message "Could not activate cellular data network" even though the 3G icon shows. I've turned off 3G and it didn't make any difference.
Tried turning on and off phone numerous times. Turning airplane on and off numerous times.
Nothing works and I'm stuck overseas without out any cell phone email.
FYI, cell phone and text messages seems to be working fine.
Also, in Italy I don't have a wireless connection in my room. Plugged in using eithernet adapter to my Macbook air. So, I realized that even if I was going to reinstall 3.0 I couldn't do it without having a wireless connection.
Would sure appreciate some suggestions.

Apple tv3 stuck on apple logo

Hello,
Yesterday (conveniently the day Apple upgraded the firmware to version 6.2, but I don't know if this is related to my problem) my Apple TV3 (A1463) got stuck while watching some program. It became unresponsive to the remote so I reset it by disconnecting and reconnecting to the power outlet.
It then showed the Apple logo on a black background for a while.
Since there was no changes I reset again and then the screen on my TV stayed plain black.
Hooking it to my PC and running iTunes didn't help either.
No reaction whatsoever. Not from iTunes and not from the PC (USB ports, Device manager, etc...)
Hooking it back to the TV and while the TV screen was still black I used my remote to reset the unit (pressed Menu and down button for a few seconds).
The LED blinked rapidly for a few seconds then the Apple logo on a black screen background reappeared and that's it, nothing more. Still stuck.
What else can I do?

Did you follow the steps exactly when attempting to restore? Unplug all cables, connect to computer via micro usb, connect power.

Make sure to connect directly to computer, not a keyboard port or usb hub. Try a different cable

Hello having major issue with Apple TV, have searched the forums over the last week but can't find a solution that works.
My ATV is not working when I had it plugged into TV so I thought I would plug it in and restore it via iTunes. I have tried three different micro-USB (all of which work on other devices). So in iTunes I had downloaded the latest ATV software and it starts to restore the ATV (extracts/prepares/verifies) but the restore gets stuck on the part of "waiting for Apple TV" and then nothing happens, as in overnight nothing happens. I have tried using the remote to reset the ATV but nothing. The flashing light is constant.
Anyone got an ideas on what to do when the restore doesn't work?
