Apple tv won't pair with macbook air

Apple TV 2 - trying to get it to pair with macbook air using bluetooth: The Apple TV continues to search with the spinning thing; the macbook air shows that it sees the apple tv, displays the 6 digit code that apple tv should then also display, but  the apple tv just continues to search.  After a few minutes, the macbook air returns a pairing failed statement.  I've tried several times.  I have rebooted both.  Macbook air is now running OS X 10.10 Yosemite.  Apple TV is showing version 7.0 (6897.5). Oh, I'm sitting 6 ft from the apple tv, but I moved to within 24 in and still same failure.  Any help would be welcome.  Thanks

As follow up, and for what it may be worth(likely not much), I talked to a staffer at an Apple Store the other day about this.  He said this capability is meant for, and can only be used with a dedicated bluetooth keyboard.  I tried this when I returned home, as my desktop iMac uses a bluetooth KB.  I "unconnected" the KB from the iMac, then took it to the other room in an attempt to establish the bluetooth connection to the ATV.  Still no success.  And as I was attempting this, I realized that, with using the KB only, that is, no "attached screen" as with the Macbook air, I could not see how I could make a connection, because when I had previously tried to connect my Macbook Air, the Air screen was showing that it was attempting to pair with the ATV, and it displayed a 6 digit code that then was supposed to also be displayed on the TV screen attached to the ATV. If I continued to attempt to pair the dedicated KB only, how would this dedicated KB "with no screen" display a 6 digit code?  So the mystery continues.

  • Apple keyboard won't pair with any devices

I just cleaned my niece's apple wireless keyboard using the mister clean magic eraser. I did not removed the batteries in doing so. What happened was the keyboard did not interact properly with the mac that it was connected to. Now I've tried replacing the battery with a new one. I tried pairing this keyboard to my iPad air and macbook pro. It won't pair with both devices. When I tried putting in the numbers that the computer gives me there's a delayed response. Is they keyboard broke. Apple should've placed a reset button on the keyboard. I don't know what to do.

i just used the mr. clean magic eraser. it's a sponge that you use to wipe out the dirt. it did a good. I just didn't remove the batteries or the KB was on at that time so the LED indicator was blinking. When I was done cleaning my niece notice that it wouldn't funciton properly. I tried pairing it again. I followed that step were you had to hold the power button for 6 seconds to reset it. It still did not pair. I tried pairing it to my mac and ipad air. It won't pair at all. Whenever I type in the code to pair it. It would stop pairing at the first number that I typed. So I don't know what to do next. Apple should've placed a small reset button to reset the whole KB.

  • IPhone 4 address book won't sync with MacBook Air

I've been Googlin' my butt off, and called support three times (in which they won't help me because they say it's an iPhone issue)... Anyway, just purchased a MacBook Air; and my iPhone contacts will not sync with the address book.
Any help would be amazing.  Thank you very much!

    Hey,
So I kept looking for another answer and found this answer in another thread:
"It is called "sync" for the reason it not called a transfer.  It wants and is designed to "sync" make each other match.  If it deleted all on the phone it is because you just had zero contacts in the address book on the computer (which on first sync is considered master copy).  If you put one dummy contact into address book on computer then try to sync it will see it needs to "merge" to get the sync process coordinated."
I tried it out and it worked.  I originally already had one contact in my address book, but it was me and apparently I don't count as a human being, so I added the dummy contact and it worked after I clicked 'Merge'. Hope it works for you too.

  • Reminders won't synch with Macbook Air

    Hi Folks:
I have an iPhone 5c running IOS 7.1.2, Macbook Air running 10.9.4
Reminders on the phone stopped synching with the Macbook.  Tuesday it didn't synch, I rebooted the phone, turned Reminders on /off in Settings>iCloud.  Didn't work.  Halh hour later it started working.
Now those actions do not work.  Any suggestions are appreciated!

Sometimes icloud site is not working if your network or computer firewall stops connecting to Apple server. However in your case it is necessary to figure out which device is not talking to icloud. The fun part of it we may have found your answer. If your computer is unable to communicate to website, it is unable to communicate to icloud either. Hence your reminders will not sync. If any of your friends can loan you a computer time on other network for five minutes, login to your icloud and if data is the same as on your phone - your computer is not syncing with icloud cause it is blocked by something.

  • Apple Cinema Display LED A1267 with macbook air 2011

    Hi
    i have a macbook air 11" 2011 Model A1370, with thundebolt port
    they are offering me a
    Apple Cinema Display LED (24-Inch)
    Identifiers: LED Cinema Display - MB382LL/A - A1267
it comes with the triple cable, magsafe, minidisplay y usb
the question is, minidisplay is the same port as thunderbolt?
i will be able to use it, with the macbook air opened and closed?
it will transmit video and audio or only video?
    thank you

If the USB cable is connected to the computer, you can use the display as an USB hub; FireWire works the same way, but you need a FireWire 400 to 800 adapter or a FireWire ExpressCard to use it.

  • Iphone 6 won't pair with ipad air on ios8

I want to use Continuity to be able to text non Apple phones (Android) from my iPad.  I learned that to do that you have to turn on Personal Hotspot and pair your devices via Bluetooth.  My devices won't pair.  They connect for a few seconds and drop or won't connect at all.

Sorry to bother y'all.  I found the answer.
The iPad also gains the ability with iOS 8 to send traditional SMS text messages via a connected iPhone. Previously, users could only said iMessages to Apple devices. While SMS messaging was available to test in iOS 8 beta releases, it is not included in the final release, and Apple has said it will become active in October.
All of this same functionality will be coming to newer Bluetooth Low Energy capable Macs later this year with the launch of OS X Yosemite, which will also be a free update.

  • IPhone 6 won't pair with macbook

I just purchased a new macbook pro with retina display. Upon getting it home and setting it up, I tried to pair it with my iPhone 6. Both devices recognize each other, but when I try to pair them it doesn't work. I've tried restarting both devices and "forgetting" the devices via bluetooth but nothing has worked. Is this a problem with my specific device? Or is this a problem that everyone is having? Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

  • Actatel 871 cellphone won't pair with Macbook Pro using system 10.0/4

I have a 3 month old Macbook Pro that came with Maverick on it (10.9.4) and I am unable to pair it successfully with my Actatel 871 phone which works perfectly with my iMac using system 10.6.8.  It will look like it's pairing, then when I send a picture from my Actatel 871, it says "unfinished" And when I try to connect with bluetooth, it says "connection failed". Yet I can send a file from my computer to the phone using bluetooth.
My husband's Pantech Swift would not send a photo either but I figured a way around that which does work on the Actatel 871. If I open my bluetooth file exchange, do to the "file" menu, I can pick "Browse device" and that way I can get photos off his phone. When I try doing that with my phone, it says that my device is not set up for that. Using the iMac with system 10.6.8 is so easy to use, you just send the files from both phones and they arrive on my computer.
Does anyone know if the Maverick is not compatible with some phones that were compatible with 10.6.8? Or perhaps I'm doing it incorrectly? Has anyone else had a similar problem?
    Thank you, Martha

    Hi mflembeck!
    Thanks for posting!
I would like for you to check over a few things that will help me determine what is causing this.
What specific version of EOS Utility are you using?
Are you using the old configuration on the camera or have you tried forgetting those settings and starting a completely new setup?
Also, just to be sure, do you have an ethernet connection to the Macbook at the same time as you have the wireless connection?

  • Pair apple remote with macbook air, pair apple remote with macbook air

can any one please tell me how to pair apple remote control with macbook Air ????

now, I had the same issue
solved it by transforming my phone (Nokia 2700 c ) into a bluetooth remote
    see this pages:

    http://torrentsmd.com/forum.php?action=viewtopic&topicid=87892828&page=p11032817 #11032817
search in the list if the phone you have is compatible, then install the little program and you may even have a remote MOUSE by just clicking it on your phone
PS. even if it yoru phone is not in the list there is a big chance that it will work, (mine wasnt in the list and it works like a charm) it is based on java if I understand corectly and most of the phones understand that programing language.

  • TS1569 My Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (2003, White) won't pair with my MacBook Pro

My Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (2003, White) won't pair with my MacBook Pro anymore.  It seems just randomly became unresponsive.  I took them both to the genius bar and everything worked fine.  When I got home, NOTHING worked! Any Ideas??
The batteries are fine, and it will not pair with my wife's MacBook either.

iPhones and Macbooks cannot pair to each other except for internet sharing.
Most Bluetooth operations between them (like Airdrop) do not require they be paired.
What exactly are you attempting to do by pairing them?

  • How do I pair my macbook air 2010 with apple tv 2

    -

    Sorry, that is not possible.
As you can see here, that MacBook Air is too old to use AirPlay Mirroring:
About AirPlay Mirroring in OS X - Apple Support
You also cannot use an HDMI cable to "pair" your MacBook Air.  The reason is your model has a mini-display port (that looks like a Thunderbolt port, but is not).  Therefore, it cannot send audio to the Apple TV.

  • How do i pair my macbook air with my iPad??

How do I pair my macbook air with my iPad???

What do you mean by "pair"? If you're asking about Bluetooth pairing, the only thing you could do if you paired them would be to share the iPad's internet connection. iOS doesn't have the BT profiles for file sharing or syncing.
If you're asking about something different, please provide some details.
    Best of luck.

  • Bluetooth in MacBook Pro won't pair with anything

Hello all.  I have two MacBook Pros, each about 6 months old.  They are both running the latest version of Lion.  Neither one will pair with any bluetooth device.  I always get an error message saying "this device does not have the necessary services".  What does this mean, and how can I fix it?
I have a Canon printer that won't pair, and I thougth it was just a compatibility issue until I tried to pair a Jawbone Jambox (which used to pair), and a brand new Bose portable speaker.  I get the same message every time.
Bluetooth on the computer finds the device,  but can't go through with the pairing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jadrb

I just got a Creative D100 bluetooth speaker and am having the exact same problem you had. Speaker pairs just fine with my ipad, but won't work with MacBook giving me same "This device does not have the necessary services" error message. Have you found a solution yet?

  • Cannot pair iPhone4 (iOS 7.1) with Macbook air (iOS 10 yosemite); they do see each other but will not connect via bluetooth

cannot pair iPhone4 (iOS 7.1) with Macbook air (iOS 10 yosemite); they do see each other but will not connect via bluetooth

That is because they do not generally pair. What is it that you are trying to do by connecting them via Bluetooth? If you are referring to AirDrop or continuity, then all you need to do is have Bluetooth turned on, they do not pair.
