Apple will not let me install ITunes - Help
ITunes would not start - error Quicktime needs to be reinstalled. So I removed quicktime through the control panel and then went on the Apple site to reinstall Quicktime. Website kept saying "Thank you for installing....". So, I uninstalled ITunes too thinking that would help. Went back to Apple website and tried installing ITunes. Same thing, "Thank you for installing..." My computer does not have either program in it and the website will not let me install it. I do not know how to get it back on my computer. Please help
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 80070002, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

I had the same problem.I tried every solutions on the net but nothing worked.Luckily on that very day my free avast antivirus date expired(I dont currently have a paid antivirus) and I uninstalled it.Then I tried to install itunes and did it on the first go.But I am using a windows 7 32 bit so it might not work for you as you are on the 64 bit.Actually the antivrus was the culprit.Hope it helps.Thanks

Everytime i tried to update my i tunes to 1.6.1 it wouldn't let me and came up with this error.

It says, "You must be an Administrator to remove this application. To remove this application, you can log on as an Administrator, or contact your technical support group for assistance.". I am logged in as the administrator! What do I do? This is driving me nuts. HELP please and thank you! XD

My Computer will not let me open itunes at all. It tells me that the itunes libary can not be read because it was created by a newer version.
If you still have an issue you may have to see about using the iTunes version (application) included with Snow Leopard 10.6 from the installer or an another one if available online, and see if that will install.
Sometimes you may have uninstall the bits left in your system by the earlier (or later) iTunes installers; as they all leave a trace and these can stop a different version of iTunes from being installed.

How in the world would I pay my outstanding balance of 40 dollars If apple will not let me? I had already voiced my concerns to apple via email and the only means I could pay my outstanding balance as per their instruction is through itunes gift card. I am unable to use credit cards or debit cards as my apple id account is associated with too many cards (Yeah Right) so in effect I am compelled to purchase an itunes gift card which I did from an online store. HOWEVER, I am unable to use the said gift card as it is only for the US itunes store as I found out in my attempt and my account is set on the Philippine itunes store which renders the gift card absolutely useless; furthermore I cannot switch countries due to the RESTRICTION. I went to support AGAIN and still got the intstruction that I need to use itunes gift cards to pay the balance. I went to other retail stores and told me itunes gift cards are readily available for purchase but it is for the US store only and NEVER for the Philippine store. I went back to the Power Mac center, told them this and they did confirm with the fact that there is no such thing as an itunes gift card for the Itunes Philippine store and they even suggested that I need to make a new account. ***? I emailed apple about this and up to this moment no reply. Now, how am I supposed to pay my outstanding balance? Try this.
Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.
