I'm trying to update my apps using the creative cloud desktop app. I can't see any apps in the app tab, the wheel just spins round and round and nothing happens. Has anyone got any ideas? I've tried uninstalling the desktop app and reinstalling but it still has the same problem.

  • How to launch an Air desktop app from a second Air desktop app?

    Hi,
Is there a way to launch an Air desktop app from a second Air desktop app?
I'm using Air 4 with Flash CS 6 on Windows.
    Thanks

According to Adobe documentation, AIR doesn't allow you to launch one application using another on desktop. The best bet that I could find at the moment would be to use the File.openWithDefaultAppilcation() function and open a file(like a .doc or .txt file) that has an AIR app set as the default application to use for X filetype. Unfortunately, launching app(.exe, .app, etc) files directly is not allowed. Probably for safety/security reasons. You might be able to get around that with a Native Extension though. Below is a link to the File.openWithDefaultApplication() method which includes a table of all the filetypes not allowed. Tried messing around with some ways around it, but the best I could do was open a new Finder window(testing on a Mac) and highlight the file. The code below assumes that both AIR apps are installed in the same app directory. Not sure how it would work on Windows but the result might be the same. For Mac, no special characters or anything was needed even though the app I was trying to open had spaces in the filename.
    var filePath:String = "file://" + File.applicationDirectory.nativePath + "/App to highlight.app";
    navigateToURL(new URLRequest(filePath));

  • How to have a Metro app tile instead of a Desktop app tile.

Hello , i saw that when you create an app with Project Siena the tile looks like a Desktop app tile.
Is there any possibility to create a real Metro Tile ( i mean in "full screen" , and not like a desktop app ) thanks.

The current version does not support Live tiles--I assume that's what you're requesting. Thank you for the feedback. Another user has kindly captured the feature request on
    this thread.

  • Installed apps have disappeard from CC Desktop app

I've run into some trouble with the last CC Desktop app update (thanks a lot Adobe) and have been attempting to trouble-shoot the issue. One part of this exercise has involved me uninstalling and then re-installing the CC Desktop app. In doing so, it has apparently lost track of the fact that I have four Adobe apps installed - it now lists just the one. I've tried logging out and back in again and also junking the OOBE folder to force it to rebuild my user preference & cache: no dice. I'm on Win7 x64.
Any suggestions on how to get my installed apps to re-appear in the CC app? Starting to wonder if re-installing them is the only way, but it seems overkill to have to do so.
Alternatively: just how useful is this CC desktop app really? I can use the Adobe apps without it, and can access the cloud storage via my browser. Do I really need this bug ridden application running in Windows all the time? Anyone getting by withoth it?

  • Using Creative Cloud 2014 apps, but Creative Cloud 2014 desktop app never installed.

I have been trying to solve this issue for months now. When I installed the 2014 update for Creative Cloud, my CC desktop app disappeared (the app that shows you updates and is a shortcut to all apps, etc). Now, applying updates and getting fonts is a real pain. Also, when I installed the 2014 update, instead of overwriting my current apps like it always had, it installed the 2014 ones and kept the old versions. This caused many issues when I uninstalled the old versions. However, I never uninstalled the desktop app, it just disappeared during the install of 2014. Is there any way to solve this issue besides uninstalled and re-installing all the apps? If that is the only solution, will is cause any issues with documents I am currently working on?

    Hi Srezler,
Adobe CC-2014 is not an update but new version of the products that we offer to our customers that is the reason why it never deleted the older versions for you. While doing the update, Creative Cloud Desktop was never supposed to be removed from the machine and it seems like that it got removed may be because of corrupt installation ( Could be because of download corruption).
I suggest lets follow the below steps and suggest if this worked for you or not and accordingly we can proceed further.
    1) Perform an uninstallation fo CC Desktop application if it is available in the Control Panel ( Utilities > Adobe Installers for MAC).
    2) Navigate to the following locations and Rename OOBE to OOBE_old.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE   ( /Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE for MAC )
    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE (~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE for MAC).
Post doing the above steps, please use the below link for installation of Creative Cloud Desktop application.

  • App for Calendar display on desktop

I'd like to see the Outlook 2010 calendar on my PC desktop, akin to an Android tablet widget.  Desired view would maybe be the month overall with small text in the cells, and then a more detailed view at bottom for either the current day or the next
few scheduled appointments.  Can someone recommend a good (preferably free) app for this functionality?  Thanks!

Hi, This won't work even, as mentioned by Pedro even if we set the Defer Reqd. Enforcement property to YES, since there are couple more fields in the same record which are set to be Required TRUE. The reason behind this is the navigation is moved to a new block (Calendar block) hence Record level validation will fire and prompt to enter other required fields before displaying the calendar popup which are actually null.
Same holds good for IPSA solution, if we have just one Item in a record which is Mandatory then we can go with IPSA's solution.

    Hi,
I want to display the demo calendar on a date field which is mandatory i.e., Required property is set to TRUE, also there are couple more items in the same record which are Mandatory as well.
My problem is when I press F9 for Calendar on the date field, it prompts me "Field must be entered", I came with alternate solution when the Required property is set to TRUE and value is NULL, I copy the SYSDATE to the current item before calling the calendar and when I press F9 it takes me to the next mandatory item in the record as the record validation fires.
Is there any way I can solve this problem?
    Any help much appreciated.

  • Apps don't respect assigned desktops

Mission Control doesn't work any better than Spaces did in respecting the assignment of apps.
I have Pages, for example, assigned to only Desktop 4. But if I'm in Desktop 1 and double-click a Pages document that's on the (actual) desktop, it will open there, not in Desktop 4. If I'm in Desktop 2, where I'm running Mail, and double click on a Pages document attached to an email I've received, it will open there, not in Desktop 4. In either case I have to go into Mission Control and move the documents to where I want them.
So what good are the desktop assignments?

    1. I have a simlar problem with my new iPhone.
    2. Settings configured to be "Last, First" (both sort&display).
2a. The Contacts app does not following this setting, but...
2b. The Phone app contact list correctly follows the setting.
    3. In Settings app, configured to be "First, Last" (both sort& display).
3a. The Contacts app follows this setting
3b. The Phone app contact list follows this setting.
    4. Could be that the Contacts app does not depend on the Settings (hard-coded?).

  • My CC apps don't work. Uninstall apps missing. CC Desktop is blank.

All my CC apps were working fine until after the latest PS CC upgrade. PS wouldn't open and I got an error.
I followed instructions found in a forum (but can't remember what I did), and that must have really messed things up because then nothing would work. I got that dialog on everything.
I followed more instructions (found in a search) and downloaded Adobe Creative Cloud Cleane. I think I followed the wrong instructions and cleaned things that should not have been cleaned. Now my CC Desktop is blank and all my Uninstall apps are missing. Clicking on the stortcuts brings up a dialog: "The alias “Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CC” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found."
Is there a way to start all over again? I'm in a real bind because I have two projects!
    I'm an idiot.
    PLEASE HELLLLLLP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Smart Albums don't display in Photos App, only when edit Contacts Photo

I created a Smart Photo Album on my Macbook Pro and synced it to my iPhone4. When I open the Photos App, the smart album isn't listed but when I edit a Contact's photo by clicking on the Choose Photo button, the Smart Album is listed along with all the other albums.
But when I just go to the Photos App on it's own, the Smart Album is still not there.
    Anyone have a similar problem?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. That sounds like an iPhoto or iPhone issue and not an iWeb one. Post your question in the Installing and using iPhoto '09 or iPhone forum.

  • TS3274 Pictures don't display on video apps

I am trying to watch video on Sky go and bbc iplayer, but with both apps the sound plays, but the video screen is blank. Any ideas how to rectify?

Try this. Close all apps and reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • IPod touch apps don't appear in iTunes app

My iTunes account used to purchase apps (I always do this on the iPod itself) does not show my apps when I am in iTunes on my computer (using same acct; I double-checked). I have nine pages of apps on the iPod, so I do not want to have to download them again to my computer from the apps store as suggested by people who updated to newer version and lost their apps. Any suggestions? When I connect my iPod to my computer, does the sync apps only work in one direction--computer to iPod? I am afraid to sync for fear of losing all my apps. Thank you for any help you can give me. bjfritz

Any applications downloaded directly to iPod touch are automatically backed up to your iTunes library when you sync.
If you don't trust the automatic system, open iTunes, press and hold Command+Option while connecting your iPod touch to your computer until you see iPod touch appear in the iTunes sidebar. This will prevent automatic syncing. Then use the iTunes File menu -> Transfer Purchases from XXX's iPod Touch.

  • My CC Desktop App (Mac) Home Panel is Hanging with a Spinning Gear Wheel

I'm running Adobe CC Suite on a MacBook Pro (OSX 10.7.5). Everything was working fine until I shut off and unplugged my laptop for a weekend. When I started it up, the CC Desktop App launched and complained that it couldn't find an Internet connection (even though my browser and Apple Mail apps were working fine.) I closed the CC Desktop App, reopened it, and ever since then, the CC Desktop App Home panel hangs with a spinning gear wheel. The Apps panel in the CC Desktop app seems fine.
I tried deleteing the opm.db file inside the OOBE folder  in my User Library. This caused the CC Desktop App to ask to to login upon launch. But, once I logged in, the spinning gear wheel started up again.
Anyone know what might be going on here or how to fix this problem?

    Abhijit,
I'm afraid that my problem with the CC Desktop App Home panel is NOT a disk permissions issue...
Per your suggestion, I verified my hard drive, repaired permissions, and rebooted my laptop. However, when I click on the Creative Cloud icon in the Finder's menu bar, the Home panel still displays a continually spinning gear wheel, as it did previously. The Apps panel is properly displayed, and the Files and Fonts panels display "coming attractions" messages; I don't have any projects in the Behance panel.
Prior to visiting this forum, I did a Google search on the problem of "CC Desktop App Home Panel Hangs," and I found a couple posts suggesting that the only way to cure this problem is to uninstall all CC/CS6 apps, use Adobe Cleaner to clean up the CS6/CC installation, and then reinstall all the apps via CC...and that doing all this does not necessarily prevent the problem for recurring.
I must say that I'm finding certain aspects of the Creative Cloud implementation to be surprisingly buggy. I've already lost a couple day's work to dealing with Creative Cloud installation and functionality issues--which is very frustrating, to say the least.
That being said, if you have any other suggestions, I'm willing to try them, as I would like to get my Creative Cloud installation working properly.

  • CC desktop app (windows) doesn't show latest versions of CC apps for installation. How do I fix it?

I've been a CC member since the start; about 6 months ago the CC desktop app on my main desktop PC stopped showing the latest versions of most applications (for example Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., only showed the 'CS' version), and stopped giving me alerts of updates. It still works fine on my (much lower spec) laptop.
I tried the various fixes (e.g. deleting the opm.db file in 'AppData/Local/adobe/OODB) but it didn't resolve the problem; I had a work around (downloading installation files from the Adobe website, and using the 'check updates' function in all of the apps).
With the recent up update, and the release of the '(2014)' versions, these work arounds no longer work. The CC Desktop app still does not show most current applications, and trying to download apps from the Adobe website sends me to the CC Desktop app, which then doesn't download the new application.
I foolishly thought a completely clean installation might help, so I uninstalled all my Adobe apps, ran the 'cleaner' app, & tried over ... things have gone from bad to worse, because I can't even get the old (pre-'2014') versions of the desktop applications to download in order to install.
My immediate problem is not having a working version of Photoshop on my main PC - the 'CS' version is available to me through the CC Desktop app, but not the 'CC' or 'CC (2014)' versions.
The spec of the PC is above the minimum spec for the 'CC' apps, so I don't think that is the problem.
    - Win 7 Pro SP 1, 64-bit
    - Intel i7-3770K (3.5Ghz quad core)
    - 16GB RAM
    - 650GB free disk space
    - etc.
Any ideas welcomed as to how to resolve this; I'm at my wits end ...
    Ian

Thanks for the reply Rave, but unfortunately that does not address my problem - my PC comfortably exceeds the minimum spec for the applications.
Of the three onward links from that page -
    (1) "For additional information please see Creative Cloud Help | Missing CC apps from my Creative Cloud Desktop app" is a dead link (>"Sorry, this page is not available")
    (2) "If you have confirmed that your computer meets and exceeds all of the listed System requirements then please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed." I had already worked through the 'solutions' on that page, culminating in the (bad) advice in 'Solution 4' which is what has got me into this current mess;
    (3) "If you have already have Download Adobe Creative Cloud application you can use Download Center : Adobe Creative Cloud for your Product Download." isn't helpful as the download links send me back to the CC Desktop app, & it still won't allow me to download the 'CC' or 'CC (2014)' applications.
Thanks again, but do you have any other suggestions?
    Ian
