Hello...
Can anyone tell me where I can find the eTRM's for AR - Rel 12i?
I have looked at B53825-03, B53825-04, B53825-06 & B53825-08 and cannot find the eTRM's for AR in any of these doc libraries.

!!HELP!! Source for Technical Reference Material (ERD, API use, etc.)

To use the OracleApps terminology, is there a TRM for the 309 Portal? (TRM is Technical Reference Manual that shows an ERD, as well as documentation about all of the tables in the application).
Is there a listing somewhere of API's and documentation about how to use them?
Is there a listing of standard packages, their function, and input and output?

Ravi,
I guess you must have overlooked the rules of engagement. It is customary in these forums for questioners to first perform basic research before posting any questions.
SAP does not supply 'Technical Reference Manuals' and 'User Guides'. As implied by Mr Bo, there may be similar types of docs publicly available on the internet, both from SAP and also from third party sources.
SAPs main documentation can be found in their online help.

If your company is a customer or partner of SAP, you should have a DVD that came with your software, which contains all the help docs on one DVD. These docs can be installed from the DVD to a PC. Ask your Basis admin.

There are some freely downloadable PDF docs from R/3 version 4.6C (this was the forerunner of ECC, which contains the FI and CO modules). Although a bit dated, much of the data in these PDF docs is still applicable.

Where is the "technical reference" or "design specification" for firefox?

The only way to efficiently use any program is to read how works. What operations, functions, or tasks, it can preform and how it performs them. Eccentrically, this defines the user interface. Then the user read: the "user guide" for a quick overview: the user manual for a complete listing of functions: the technical reference to design interface software to the application.
An program that only lists random bits of information on how to do something based on user questions, FAQs, limits the programs usage to morons, and and is therefor a time wasting piece of shit. The best solution to to install it, delete it, and get your money.. Then find another program or buy a MAC and live a much happier life.
Only one program in a thousand is written by someone smart enough that the program can be used intuitively without much user documentation. .

EAM Asset Number Open Interface - Technical Reference docs required

Hello,
I'm developing a migration of EAM assets.
I have no issue by filling the interface tables MTL_EAM_ASSET_NUM_INTERFACE and MTL_EAM_ATTR_VAL_INTERFACE and then running the "Import Asset Number" standard functionallity.
But, I need to work with genealogy information. The table MTL_OBJECT_GENEALOGY_INTERFACE is used to relate parent and child assets .. but when I run "Import Asset Number" nothing happens .. I mean, if I query the asset in the application, I can see it without the parent asset association.
Now, I'm trying to use the API's for EAM, but until now without success ...
I saw that there exist a "Technical Reference" document for EAM .. but I can't find it ...
Do you know from where I can download it ? ...
or, if the mentioned document does not exist anymore
Do you know where I can find documents about eAM Open Interface, more detailed than the information of the "Implementation Guide" ?

Did the original poster ever find a resolution to this issue? I'm seeing the same behavior. I examined all of the documentation listed in the post already (though I can't find doc 256410.1).
In my example, my child asset is a rebuildable asset, but that won't always be the case. Even though I see that the Import Asset Genealogy request has run successfully, my record doesn't change. I should get an error as I'm deliberately trying to create a new parent-child relationship with a child that currently has a parent. This gives me an error message in the Maintenance Super User -> Asset -> Configuration History page.
Here's what I did to create the import record:

The only way I could get this to work was to set the MTL_OBJECT_GENEALOGY_INTERFACE.PROCESS_STATUS = 'R' and then call EAM_GENEALOGY_IMPORT_PUB.import_genealogy via PL/SQL. If I did that, I didn't get an error back from the PL/SQL call, but I did get a decent message in the ERROR_MESSAGE field of the interface table: "Child Battery1000 already has a parent FL1030 from 15-DEC-2006 10:43:50; the open period from 16-AUG-2013 15:55:52 overlaps with it."
The Parameters dialog for the Import Asset Genealogy request only works if PROCESS_STATUS = 'P' and the EAM API only works if PROCESS_STATUS = 'R'.
Is it me or does this seem poorly thought out or at the very least poorly documented?

Looking for a reference manual that actually describes in detail all attributes for a command

I am using CS5. I am teaching myself Photoshop using their book, "Classroom in a book".
Thought the lessons, they will suggest specific setting for command attributes without describing exacting what these values mean.. For example, on page 88 they give the student specific settings for the Refine Edge dialog bog under the Quick Selection tool. They say, "To prepare the edge for a drop shadow, set Smooth to 24, Feather to 0.5, Contrast to 12, and Shift Edge to -21". Note: I am calling things like Smooth, Feather, Contrast, etc command attributes.
My question is not about this specific example, but all these attribute values for all the commands. For example, what does Shift Edge really do when negative or positive. My question is: does a reference, either a book, pdf, or a non-Adobe product (probably a book) exist that actually explains when each attribute actually does for every command? Basically looking for a boring detailed reference guide so when I am using a specific command, I can read about the attributes for the specific command and understand what the values really mean and not guess my trial and error.

To the top
Altitude For the Bevel and Emboss effect, sets the height of the light source. A setting of 0 is equivalent to ground level, 90 is directly above the layer. Angle Determines the lighting angle at which the effect is applied to the layer. You can drag in the document window to adjust the angle of a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, or Satin effect.
Anti-alias Blends the edge pixels of a contour or gloss contour. This option is most useful on small shadows with complicated contours. Blend Mode Determines how the layer style blends with the underlying layers, which may or may not include the active layer. For example, an inner shadow blends with the active layer because the effect is drawn on top of that layer, but a drop shadow blends only with the layers beneath the active layer. In beveling and embossing, Contour allows you to sculpt the ridges, valleys, and bumps that are shaded in the embossing process. With shadows, Contour allows you to specify the fade. For more information, see Modify layer effects with contours. Distance Specifies the offset distance for a shadow or satin effect. You can drag in the document window to adjust the offset distance. Depth Specifies the depth of a bevel. It also specifies the depth of a pattern. Use Global Light This setting allows you to set one “master” lighting angle that is then available in all the layer effects that use shading: Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, and Bevel and Emboss. In any of these effects, if Use Global Light is selected and you set a lighting angle, that angle becomes the global lighting angle. Any other effect that has Use Global Light selected automatically inherits the same angle setting. If Use Global Light is deselected, the lighting angle you set is “local” and applies only to that effect. You can also set the global lighting angle by choosing Layer Style > Global Light. Gloss Contour Creates a glossy, metallic appearance. Gloss Contour is applied after shading a bevel or emboss. Gradient Specifies the gradient of a layer effect. Click the gradient to display the Gradient Editor, or click the inverted arrow and choose a gradient from the pop-up panel. You can edit a gradient or create a new gradient using the Gradient Editor. You can edit the color or opacity in the Gradient Overlay panel the same way you edit them in the Gradient Editor. For some effects, you can specify additional gradient options. Reverse flips the orientation of the gradient, Align With Layer uses the bounding box of the layer to calculate the gradient fill, and Scale scales the application of the gradient. You can also move the center of the gradient by clicking and dragging in the image window. Style specifies the shape of the gradient. Highlight or Shadow Mode Specifies the blending mode of a bevel or emboss highlight or shadow. Jitter Varies the application of a gradient’s color and opacity. Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow Controls the drop shadow’s visibility in a semitransparent layer. Noise Specifies the number of random elements in the opacity of a glow or shadow. Enter a value or drag the slider. Opacity Sets the opacity of the layer effect. Enter a value or drag the slider. Pattern Specifies the pattern of a layer effect. Click the pop-up panel and choose a pattern. Click the New Preset button to create a new preset pattern based on the current settings. Click Snap To Origin to make the origin of the pattern the same as the origin of the document (when Link With Layer is selected), or to place the origin at the upper-left corner of the layer (if Link With Layer is deselected). Select Link With Layer if you want the pattern to move along with the layer as the layer moves. Drag the Scale slider or enter a value to specify the size of the pattern. Drag a pattern to position it in the layer; reset the position by using the Snap To Origin button. The Pattern option is not available if no patterns are loaded. Position Specifies the position of a stroke effect as Outside, Inside, or Center. Range Controls which portion or range of the glow is targeted for the contour. Size Specifies the radius and size of blur or the size of the shadow. Soften Blurs the results of shading to reduce unwanted artifacts. Source Specifies the source for an inner glow. Choose Center to apply a glow that emanates from the center of the layer’s content, or Edge toapply a glow that emanates from the inside edges of the layer’s content. Spread Expands the boundaries of the matte prior to blurring.
Style Specifies the style of a bevel: Inner Bevel creates a bevel on the inside edges of the layer contents; Outer Bevel creates a bevel on the outside edges of the layer contents; Emboss simulates the effect of embossing the layer contents against the underlying layers; Pillow Emboss simulates the effect of stamping the edges of the layer contents into the underlying layers; and Stroke Emboss confines embossing to the boundaries of a stroke effect applied to the layer. (The Stroke Emboss effect is not visible if no stroke is applied to the layer.)
Technique Smooth, Chisel Hard, and Chisel Soft are available for bevel and emboss effects; Softer and Precise apply to Inner Glow and Outer Glow effects.
Smooth Blurs the edges of a matte slightly and is useful for all types of mattes, whether their edges are soft or hard. It does not preserve detailed features at larger sizes. Chisel Hard Uses a distance measurement technique and is primarily useful on hard-edged mattes from anti-aliased shapes such as type. It preserves detailed features better than the Smooth technique.
Chisel Soft Uses a modified distance measurement technique and, although not as accurate as Chisel Hard, is more useful on a larger range of mattes. It preserves features better than the Smooth technique. Softer Applies a blur and is useful on all types of mattes, whether their edges are soft or hard. At larger sizes, Softer does not preserve detailed features.
Precise Uses a distance measurement technique to create a glow and is primarily useful on hard-edged mattes from anti-aliased shapes
such as type. It preserves features better than the Softer technique. Texture Applies a texture. Use Scale to scale the size of the texture. Select Link With Layer if you want the texture to move along with the layer as the layer moves. Invert inverts the texture. Depth varies the degree and direction (up/down) to which the texturing is applied. Snap To Origin makes the origin of the pattern the same as the origin of the document (if Link With Layer is deselected) or places the origin in the upper-left corner of the layer (if Link With Layer is selected). Drag the texture to position it in the layer.

A reference manual for Photoshop?

There is a huge number of how to tutorials and books on the web in the books etc. What I really want is a reference manual where each command/feature is explained and options defined in the way manuals used to be written. I have some Scott Kelby books and others, but they all tell you how top do this and that, but I would really like to understand better what I am doing and then I will not need so much the how to books. Is there nothing like that available? Please tell me there is. Pavel

Thank you very much J Maloney. I really got into the Adobe reference that you gave me a link for. It is great! I finally understand what is the difffernce between objects and adjustment layers and masks. I think I get the concept of channels as well. Suddenly Kelby's books are not just inexplicable sequence of buttons pressed. I actually at least in part understand (I think) on a conceptual level what is happening. This is an important breakthrough for me - the biggest since I have been able to calibrate my system and being able to sofproof the photos, so that in strong Solux (white) lighting I get images in print that are very similar to those on my monitor, when I put the two next to each other. I now beleive I will be able to learn to use PS reasonably effectively over time. I appreciate your help.
I also appreciate your most recent suggestion and your endorsement Jerome as well. I purchased the CS3 version of the Bible. I will see how well this will serve me. If I find that I need more or if I will not be able to breach the gap between CS 3 and 4 (I suspect I will be able to), I will get the reference you two suggest.

Looking for Java Reference Manual, Not User Manual

I'm a mainframe programmer learning Java. I'm going thru "The Complete Reference Java" by Schildt. In the mainframe world, manuals are usually broken into reference manuals (shows just the syntax) and user manuals (shows how to do things). I'm looking for a pure Java reference manual that strips away all of the verbose explanation of how to do things and just lists in an organized way the pure syntax of Java. Does anyone know of such a manual? Everything I've found so far falls more into the user manual category that perhaps contains the syntax somewhere (if you look for it), but is overburdened with tons of explanations. Thanks.

Thanks. What you provided is a bit like a reference manual and user manual combined into one. It has the complete syntax along with plenty of explanations. BTW, I think I know where Schildt got most of his material for his Complete Java Reference book. It's almost like he took the Java Language Specification book and reorganized it into a tutorial format.

Good reference manual/tutorial for CS6

Does anyone know of a good Encore CS6 reference manual and/or tutorial? I've searched the Internet and can't seem to find any book of any kind that's relevant to Encore.
An Adobe "Classroom In A Book" for Encore would have been useful, but there doesn't appear to be anything forthcoming from Adobe or anyone else.
I've got the Adobe Encore CS6 Help And Tutorial, but I find it lacking any depth and detail.
Suggestions would be appreciated!

Technical reference about the apple system preferences files

I'm confused because after this experience I found a lot of tutorials, documentations and forum discussions which describes the loginwindow.plist as the responsible plist for the login items. My suspicion was that the loginitems.plist rebuild process take notice about the content of loginwindow.plist, which is in the root of the matter the same as in loginitems.plist.
But I couldn't answer this question competent and that's the reason why I'm searching for detailed informations about this "forgotten" loginitems.plist. Forgotten? Try to search for it. Its unbeleavable, 99% of the hits you get belongs to the loginwindow.plist and the description sounds very similar to the functionality of loginitems.plist. But maybe you're right and the applications try to put themselves back into the startup item list. But this doesn't answer the relation between this two plists.
