Archiving parameters?

Hi All,
We were trying to create archiving and deletion procedure for XI Message.
I had a query..
in Retention parameter setting there is option ..
XML Message without error Awaitin Deletion.
in Integration Engine Parameter settingn there is option..to set persist duration for deletion category..
what is the difference between the two entries...same is true for archive...

I am trying to archive an outgoing document from SAP i.e. an invoice to a content repository using archive link and getting the below error:
Maintain archiving parameter(s) for output type RD00 (appl. V3)
Message no. VN096
Diagnosis
At the time of output determination, the archiving parameters for output type RD00 (application V3) were incorrectly maintained in Customizing.

Kindly help as to from which transaction I can maintain archiving parameters for this transaction ???

Hi,
Which storage device are you using? I can only speculate the problem. Ok. So output type is configured properly. Can you check the object type for your document type in Transaction code OAC3. Check it should be VBRK. If it is not then change it to VBRK. Now go to transcation code OAD5 and check every thing is configured there or not. If it is all done then it should work. I presume that all basic customization is done in your system.

Archive parameters

Hi,
One final question on archiving.
When I was using a script to print an invoice through VF03
i could pass 4 parameters with my form routine through an output type:
subrc, preview, archive params, archive index.
But now when i use a smartform. the call to the form routine is allowing only 2 parameters,.
Is there a way i can change this so that the form routine can pass archive parameters as well.
I need the archive parameters from VF03 or VF31 to pass them to the smartform for archiving.
Any ideas?

Hi,
In smartforms u have to fill the interfacing paramer. For archiving declare one data ARCHIVE_PARAMETERS TYPE ARC_PARAMS.
Fill with relevant data in the structure ARCHIVE_PARAMETERS . Pass it in smartform interface parameter.

Set archiving parameters on physical standby

most respected forum members,
i have two databases both are oracle 9i release 2 on windows server 2003.
A (this is production database)
B (i want to make this standby )
on A (production machine ) i set parameters
alter system set log_archive_dest_1 = 'location =E:\oracle\archives'
alter system set log_archive_dest_2 = 'service (tnsnames entry from standby db)
standby_archive_dest = 'E:\oracle\archives'' (the location is same on standby as it on primary)
on B (standby db) how i set these parameters.

the link u told me , i m following the same doccument.
here it is chapter 3 creating physical standby db.
while enable archiving on standby db , here the parameters are
alter system set log_archive_dest_2 = 'service = (here the tnsnames entry will be from tns of primary db or standby) bcz in primary tnsnames entry is "REPEIMS" and in standby the tnsnames entry "REPSTDY".
Moreover when i will change my standby db to archivelog mode where i will set that destination
alter system set log_archive_dest_1 = 'Location (here like this) or some other parameter'

I have problems creating archive messages for ERS messages in ECC 6.0. I always get message "Maintain archiving parameter(s) for output type ERS (appl. MR)" even if I have done all steps as described in SAP note 391822:
NACE: application "MR", output type "ERS"
details: storage mode "2 Archive only", document type "ZUNSGUTHCD"
processing routine: medium "1 print", program "RM08NAST", form routine "ENTRY_ERS", form "MR_PRINT".
A condition record for message type ERS is existing with function "VN" and medium "1" and date/time "4".
OAC2: document type "ZUNSGUTHCD", document class "PDF", status "x".
OAC3: object type "BUS2081", Doc.type "ZUNSGUTHCD", L "x", Content rep. ID "K1", link "TOA01", retention period "0".
The archive "K1" is existing and working for other documents, but not for ERS.
Something is missing, but I don't find out what. Any help is greatly appreciated, point are given!

Archiving pdf document with a background job

Hi all,
I wrote an home made application to manage links between SAP and external systems. In this application I've a document number which corresponds to a pdf document I received on a windows file server.
I'm receiving hundreds of pdf documents per day from these external systems and I want to archive them in IXOS from an ABAP program.
I wrote a program to do this using these standard functions :
ARCHIV_CONNECTDEFINITION_GET to get the archive parameters
ALINK_DOCUMENTS_CREATE_DIALOG to upload and archive the PDF file
ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT to create the link in SAP
this works perfectly.... in forground.
The function ALINK_DOCUMENTS_CREATE_DIALOG does not work in background.
I absolutly need to create an abap program to run it as a job to do this archiving, because I get about 2000 - 3000 documents per day
Does somebody have a solution for this ?
I looked around in this forum and in SAP but I didn' find a solution at the moment

Hi,
As you experienced all DIALOG function modules will not work in Batch because the is no connection with a frontend (PC).
You have to get your PDF on a server so you can process them in Batch.
Maybe you can than use the FM: ALINK_DOCUMENTS_CREATE_FILE

Problem in passing parameters in FBL1N

Hi,
I am having my own selection screen, the parameters of this selection screen are passed to a selection screen of standard transaction FBL1N. This transaction gets data from logical database.
My problem is , when i pass my data to standard screen of FBL1N, & execute the program, it is not showing the same result as when the transaction is exectued with the same parameters.
I have checked in debug mode, & the parameters which i pass to the transaction are passed correctly.
Is it something related to logical database & i need to pass some data or activate the database through any parameter as in the FBL1N screen, this parameter has addition NO DATABASE SELECTION.
Anyone who has faced such a issue pls. reply as to what should be done to handle such problem.

Can you check what you have in the Storage System Tab in the fields Storage Mode and Document Type.
It should be Print Only and SDOINVOICE respectively.

Archive inspection lot:-LTIN STIC STUP

Hi there
Issue: The system is not considering the inspection lots for archiving if i changed the status from "LTIN STIC STUP" to "UD ICCO STUP" .
When i ran in test mode RQRQAB00, I can see that the system is able to read the inspection lot, usage decision but its not considering to select for archiving.
Some Notes regarding the above
Status of "LTIN STIC STUP" inspection lot is Green
I have checked the Archiving parameters, these details are all good.
All the pre reqs are met,
Can any one guide me, what i am missing here, is there anything else i should be doing to archive these inspection lots
I have archived the inspection lots with UD with out any issues
Please guide me

Please check the following requirementes to archive an inspection lot:
- The inspection lot has been cancelled, or if a usage decision has been made. (OK for you)
- The last change to the usage decision was made before the retention duration.
- All stock has been posted for a stock-relevant inspection lot. (OK for you)
- If the inspection lot is not used in any of the following data records:
Production order header
Delivery note item
Transfer requirement item without a “delivery completed” indicator.
Quality level

As i understand with your question - You have to archive the incoming documents which are in PDF format and link it with SAP business document.
If so, then you can achieve by using OpenText Document Pipeline functionality.
Below are the steps need to be performed:
1. For each incoming document there should be control files which is essential for the IXOS job to archive and send the updates to the SAP
- You can refer to OpenText Document Pipeline for the attributes of control file
2. Schedule EXR3 job - agument the exchange directory - where your incoming document with control file are located
Pre-requisites are - ArchiveLink configuration should be defined in SAP.
In this way you can archive the incoming documents to link to SAP transaction data.
You can see the archived information in table TOA0* and also in respective SAP transaction data using GOS service you can display the document.

No archive information found for object type and document type

When i try to view the print preview for a perticular doc type, system is giving the error as "No archive information found for object type and document type"
Diagnosis
    No information was found about optical archiving. This may be due to
    either of the following reasons:
    1. No valid archiving parameters were passed
    2. Your system is not configured for optical archiving
System Response
    Processing is cancelled.
Procedure
    Specify valid archiving parameters or check whether your system is configured for optical archiving

Hello,
You are trying to Print & also archive by selecting the option Print & Archive.
You have to do archivelink configurations and then create document type and assign to the object type with content repository with archivelink table.
If you want to archive the spool or output then you have to use object type as DRAW. If you are archiving invoice document or letters or so on then you have to know the object type/Business object of the transaction.
Please note that for archivelink configuration, attachment will be either stored in archive server or in SAP database table based on business requirement.
Hope this will give you some understanding on archiving area.

Archiving invoice using smartform

Hi All
I am trying to archive invoices using smartform.
In the program I am directly calling the smartform by passing the archiving parameters to the function module of smartform which is determined using CALL FUNCTION 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'.
I am passing the parameter to the archive_index and archive_parameters in CALL FUNCTION lf_fm_name.
If from the same program I am calling driver program of sap script then the document is getting archived.
Is there any problem with archiving using smartform.
Please guide.

How to archive an adobe form?

I created an adobe form. I set the archive parameters as follows:
fp_outputparams-arcmode    = p_arch. " (2 or 3.)
      IF p_arch = 2 OR p_arch = 3. " Archive only / Print and archive
        CLEAR: gs_dara,
               fp_docparams-daratab.
        gs_dara-function   = 'DARA'.
        gs_dara-mandant    = sy-mandt.
        gs_dara-sap_object = SAP_OBJECT.
        gs_dara-ar_object = AR_OBJECT_NAME.
        gs_dara-object_id =ID.
         gs_dara-FORMARCHIV =
        gs_dara-notiz      = 'Adobe Form'.
        APPEND gs_dara TO fp_docparams-daratab.
      ENDIF.
I create a print preview. There I can see the button "Archive". When I push it something happens in the background. I haven't debugged it yet.
I thought that after pushing this button, the document can be found using transaction OAAD --> Technical Search. But it is not there.
Is there a step I have to include? Call a function module to create something? Customize something?
Anyone an idea?

Hi,
I created an adobe form using the adobe live cycle designer integrated in transaction SFP.
I created a report to call the form. To archive a form you have to set some additional parameters as mentioned in my messages.

Or check example programs in package SFPT . You can find several programs where a adobe form is processed.
E.g. report FP_TEST_02.

Archive synchronous messages

Hello Experts,
As successfully processed synchronous messages cannot be archived in PI and I have gone through the various documents and threads(mentioned below) in SDN which also confirm this point.
XI: synchronous messages can be archived?
Can synchronous messages (EO) be archived in XI?
But if the requirement is to archive the successfully processed synchronous messages,what can be the other possible ways and what are the points needs to be considered for performance.Kindly suggest me the best and easy way of doing this.
Also ,as we can persist synchronous error and without error messages awaiting deletion for some time by specifying RETENTION PERIOD using SXMB_ADM but what should be the appropriate values for this retention period keeping performance in view and how can we decide these values.My scenario is RFC-SOAP.

Actually sync messages can't be archived. According to the note #872388, there's no archiving parameters for SYNC messages. See:
"Per default only asynchronous messages (EO and EOIO) will be persisted on the ABAP and Java side. Synchronous messages (Best Effort) will only be persisted if an error occurs during processing or if the parameter LOGGING_SYNC (ABAP only) is set. Setting LOGGING_SYNC is not recommended to reduce processing overhead. Note: Also on applications systems
connected to XI via ABAP proxies the messages will get persisted and archiving/deletion has to be configured. Performance data on the other hand are persisted for both, synchronous and asynchronous, messages (tables SXMSPFRAWH)."

How can I change the values for print parameters

Hi all,
There is a program which prints the documents every time the t.code is executed. I want the output to be stored in spool and NEVER wants it to be printed.
A spreadsheet which has the details of articles is uploaded and a background job is created through ABAP SUBMIT statement to upload the article numbers to the table.
GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS function module is used. Is there any way to pass the print parameters so that output will not be printed and only stored in the spool?
Help me out and points will be rewarded.
