Are photos in iOS 8 stored on my iPad?

I thought that with iOS 8, I could store photos on iCloud but not on my iPad. I have a lot and I don't want to fil up the device. That's why I. Ready to spend the money for the 200 GBS.
Anyway, the questions is, how can I move the photos off of my iPad but keep them in iCloud?

I found my own answer. iCloud library isn't available yet. I just read the iMore iOS 8 review and they said that iCloud Library may not be available when iOS 8 launches. We're missing the iCloud Library button in the Settings.

You are not speaking to Apple here. So none of us can "fix it."
TRy try quitting the Photos app followed by a reset of the ipad. To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app. Then Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

  • Is there a limit to how many photos can be stored on an iPad using version 5.1.1?

I am having a devil of a time syncing my wife's original iPad with iTunes. I believe that there is a limit to how many photos can be stored on the iPad. It has 20GB of empty storage space, so it's not a space issue.
Certain albums refuse to sync. I cannot figure out why those albums, in particular, will not sync. If I delete albums, they disappear from the iPad Photo application, so some synchronizing is happening.
    Help.

First, thanks so much for taking the time to respond.
Let me be a little more specific in describing my problems.
I have about 8,000 images in iPhoto on an older iMac. All of the iPhoto functions appear to work correctly.
I have created about 50 albums in iPhoto, and about 20 of these are of interest to my wife, so she'd like to copy them to her early iPad.
ITunes shows the albums correctly when I select what I want to sync to her iPad. In other words, iTunes correctly represents what is in iPhoto. 1:1 correspondence in albums.
However, when I sync approximately 25 albums with her iPad, 3-5 albums refuse to copy over to the iPad. The total number of images that is available on her iPad is 1680. My first thought was that there might be a limit to the number of images. There is plenty of memory available on the iPad (over half).
Thank you so much for your time.
    Cheers,
    Chuck

  • Where are data and docs stored on an ipad if I choose not to backup to the cloud?

In my preferences I have notes, calendar, contacts, photos, etc. stored on the icloud.  However, I have apps such as Adobe pdf pro, Pages and Numbers loaded and I want to keep the docs generated from these programs on my ipad and no where else, so I've indicated this in my preferences (do not backup to the icloud.)  So where are the docs stored?  I've heard they are stored "in the apps themselves?"  What if I have fifty docs so stored? Will I ever lose any of them?

Yes, they should be assuming you have registered the iPad on the Kindle site.

  • Where are photo files physically stored on a Mac?

When using Photos, I have the option checked to Download Originals to this Mac.  Now, how do I find my photos in Finder?  I like to keep a physical backup as well as a copy in the cloud.  I have about 100 photos on my iPhone.  Plugged it in and told it to import new.  But, I can't find anywhere that will tell me where it is stored on my hard drive.

I like to keep a physical backup as well as a copy in the cloud.
    Two ways to do this;
    1. Back up the Photos library to external:
    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
    2. Just back up the Originals?
File -> Export -> Export Unmodified Originals will produce the images exactly as imported.

Where are radio program downloads stored on the iPad?

I am lost.  I don't even see the reply tab to answer I hope this continues the conversation..  I frequently listen to radio talk shows that have already been broadcast.  I have the option of listen or
download.  The first option doesn't work so I always click on download.  I assume the downloads are piling up so I wanted to delete them but I can't find them stored anywhere on my iPad. Where are they?

  • Are my iCloud photos stored? I lost phone abroad and want to access the photos and save them to my iPad.

are my iCloud photos stored? I lost phone abroad and want to access the photos and save them to my iPad.

Photo stream photos remain in iCloud for 30 days, and can be accessed by enabling my photo stream on another iOS device or computer.  Shared streams remain in iCloud indefinitely, and can be accessed by enabling Photo Sharing on an iOS device or computer.  Your camera roll photos are included in your device backup.  Restoring the backup to another iPhone or iPod touch should recover them (unfortunately, you can recover them by restoring an iPhone backup to your iPad).  If the backup is an iCloud backup be aware that Apple will delete it after 180 days of inactivity so you'll want to restore the backup prior to that.

  • HT4101 Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud.

Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.

  • Can I move photos around in iPad?  There are some photos in camera roll, are those the ones I took with iPad?  Then there are some that are imported-I guess those are the ones from my camera.  Can I combine them into different albums?  Thanks

Can I mover photos around in iPad?  There are photos on the camera roll-are those the ones I took with iPad?  Then there are the ones labeled as imported-I guess those are the ones I took with my camera?  Can I combine pictures from both into one album?  Thanks.

At the moment no, you cannot move photos between albums in the Photos app directly on the iPad - but with iOS 5 (which will be free to download) in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device.

Thanks lllaass, but I am not computer literate and do not understand exactly what it is I am supposed to do.  All of my photos were stored on Microsoft Windows Live Photo Gallery.  When I now access the gallery the only thing that is there are the folders with the title of the folders.  The pictures that were in those folders are now gone. I can no longer access them on my IPOD either.  My photo library on my IPOD is now empty.
    Thanks again for your help.

You'll have to transfer them from the pc to the mac.

  • HT201269 why can I not get my photos and videos stored on my iphone to import to my new Ipad Air?

Why can I not get my photos and videos stored on my iPhone to import onto my new iPad Air ?

We don't know how to answer because we don't know what you are doing.
I can tell you that you cannot connect the two devices together to transfer content. And videos do not work in Photo Stream, but it does work for photos. However, you can only stream photos to the device after you have enabled photo stream on the iPad. Any photos that were already on the phone - before you turned on Photo Stream -will not sync to the iPad.
Look at this app for the videos.

When I access Photo Stream on her iPad2, there is nothing there. Here's the really weird part: when I add a photo to iMessage on her iPad2, it lets me select Photo Stream and the photos are there!!! Any fixes besides a restore???
