Are they ever gonna make a version of Itunes for windows mobile devices
I bought the Moto Q, great phone/pda/mp3 player. Does all I need to do in just one piece of electronics that fits conveniently on my hip. No,I do not work for Motorola, but I like this phone. My issue is, I have purchases from the Itunes store that I would love to tranfer to this mobile device with out having to take it to the hospital for same day surgery. I know, I can rip multiple audio cds of my music then tranfer them to my laptop (which I use for syncing my mobile device), use software to convert them from audio files to mp3s or wma then copy and paste them to my Moto Q. WAY TOO MUCH HASSLE!
I like using Itunes as my place to purchase new music but I may have to go to a site that will sell me wma files i can play on my Q. My Q runs windows media center for mobile devices so it will play MP3, WMA and i think unprotected AAC files but the protected AAC files on my tower will not play after being copied to the memory card.
Just because they don't make a phone/pda/mp3 player for apple that rocks, do I have to STOP BUYING MY MUSIC AT THE ITUNES STORE, and start buying them thru microsoft????
How big is your library? I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
- Backup your library. Always a good idea before messing with things.
- Create a new library. Refer to this article for details: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589. This won't delete your old library, you're just creating a new empty one. Also refer to this article to get back to your old library later.
- Add a few albums into this new library. Not everything, just a small sampling, as a test.
- Activate Match on this new library. You shouldn't have to re-pay, it should just say "Add Computer" or similar.
- At this point, Match should run again. With just a few albums it should complete in just a few minutes.
If iTunes doesn't crash at this point, then likely there's something about your original library that Match doesn't like - what that is I don't know, but at least you'll know it's not your PC. If iTunes still crashes, then if could be a number of other things, but probably not your library. My next suggestion (if you haven't already done this) is to uninstall / reinstall iTunes. If that doesn't work, then my next ideas you won't like.

How can I make the newest version of iTunes for Windows run faster?
I know I'm not the only one when I say that iTunes is by far one of the slowest programs on my computer. I'm running Windows 7 and running the most recent version of iTunes for Windows. Does anyone have some tips to make it run faster and smoother? I have Genius and Ping disabled, but I'm not quite sure what else I can do.
The newest version of iTunes should install if you are runnig 10.7.
Do you get any error messages?

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes for Windows and now iTunes crashes everytime I launch it. I have tried re-downloading and selecting Repair with no luck. Any suggestions?

If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

I have installed the latest version of iTunes for Windows 8 but when I try to open it, it says Windows has an error and I simply can't open it any longer. Any help is appreciated!

Preveious versions of iTunes for Windows?
I was running previous versions of iTunes for Windows without problems. With the latest versions, I have tried everything without success (uninstalling Quicktime, resinstalling Quicktime etc)

Latest version of iTunes for Windows crashing
I've updated to latest version of iTunes for Windows today, and have up to date Windows 7. iTunes is closing down after about a minute, Windows just says iTunes has a problem. Never had a problem before. Is this a known error?

I just downloaded the newest version of iTunes (for windows) and all of my saved Genius playlists disappeared. In addition I can't start Genius at all right now. I tried updating it but it still won't start. Any thoughts?
With iTunes 11 on PCs the drop-down menus are hidden by default - control-B should get the menus to show

'm having a problem with downloading and installing the new version of itunes for windows (11.1.4) I have done everything the troubleshooting article has said and it is still not working properly. I have even done a repair to see if that works and it has not. Has anyone else found a new way to get it working?

"Unblocked and gave all permissions." Still, no go.
I see by reading the other posts on this forum that I am not alone. Any help?
Frustrated!Ok...This was very odd. I left the installation program, in what I considered a frozen state on screen. After about 30 mins, to my surprise, It installed! I'm not computer literate, so, I don't know what to say. But, to just WAIT for it to respond! Good Luck!

Add Folder to Library option is not available in the latest version of iTunes for Windows. I am using Windows 7 64 bit. Any suggestion ?
CTRL + B will bring up the menu bar, on which is File/Add Folder...

Latest version of iTunes for Windows freezes...
I'm using Windows 7, Lenovo laptop, iTunes has run with perfect stability forever. My default library view is podcasts. Since I installed the latest update to iTunes for Windows, my iTunes freezes in podcast mode (Automatic update), but if I open it in Music mode, it plays my music fine.
I followed the support point to open iTunes in safe mode (makes no difference) and deleted my iTunes preferences. This allowed me to select the library view rather than sticking in podcasts only and freezing. But still freezes as soon as I return to podcast view.
As I say everything was fine until the update.

Latest version of iTunes for Windows causes problems on office network
I have recently updated my version of iTunes on my office computer to the latest available (7.3.1.3). Since doing this, I have been unable to connect my iPod video (5th gen) to itunes properly.
When I try and connect my ipod, itunes recognises it but it comes up as "James' iPod" - one of my colleagues. When I use itunes to look at the music on my ipod, it lists all James' tunes. However, upon disconnecting and checking the ipod, it definitely still has my own tunes on there. To makes matters even stranger, when the ipod is connected, itunes seems to think the ipod has 3000GB total memory, with about 1700GB used by "other" (i.e. the bar is orange for 1700GB).
If I try and play any of the songs that show up on the ipod it doesn't let me, i get the exclamation mark in the left hand column. I have tried rebooting, and I have tried connecting ipod first then opening itunes and vice versa. I have tried connecting when James' computer is off and when it is on. Another colleague of mine has had exactly the same problem, when connecting his ipod on his computer it comes up as James' iPod. I think that he too has recently updated to the latest version of itunes.

With the exception of your iPod, keyboard and mouse, disconnect all other USB devices including printers, scanners, external hard drives, thumb drives, hair curlers, flash memory readers, etc. before changing the drive letter. Also, be sure to plug the iPod into a rear USB port on the computer and if you are on a network, disconnect from it. -
I uninstalled my newest version of iTunes for Windows
Hello my name is Wendy Reddy, and I got my iPod nano Model No. A1320 a couple years ago. My computer crashed and I backed up the entire iTunes library and was able to restore it to my computer after I got it running again. However i had to reinstal iTunes due to the system being wiped & reprogramed. However when I tried to upload the disc I got with my original iPod bout 4 years back cause its the only version I really liked, I was asked to update my version of iTunes to the latest 10.1 or what ever it is.. So I did and I didnt have any of my playlists backed up & since the computer crashed I had recorded some pretty important videos on my iPod that I wsn't able to sync with my computer. So when I tried to sync my iPod it said that my entire content on my iPod would be erased and replaced with the updated library which was no longer organized in the playlists I created, as well as all my games pictures and new down loaded songs. But most importantly was the videos I have on my iPod which I CAN NOT LOSE it may very likely have to be used in court for a law suit. So when I uninstalled the newest version of iTunes and uploaded my older version, I couldn't even open itunes anymore cause it gae an error message saying that all the libraries content was upgraded and synced to a newer version and was no longer accessible. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!! This is so messed up and I am absolutely infuriated with your company and its shady and sneaky attempts to force people to use the newest versions and then have it destroy lose or corrupt our entire library or force us to lose whatever we have recorded on our iPods! This is absolutely outrageous and fraudulant as well as just negligent & shady business practices. You guys do this so that we ae forced to buy your newer products and in this economy most people CAN'T F'n AFFORD TO DO THAT!!! I feel so cheated and heart broken cause i can't save my video content on my iPod which is dire for my law suit against a corrupt Surgeon who lied to me and misled me about my amputation and butchered me and i am now forced to have a SECOND AMPUTATION and endure this trauma all over agian.
How can I install my older version of iTunes and have it recognize my original library without conflict from the new version which has reformatted my library so I can only view it with the new version. I HATE the new version and want to be able to access my 3000 plus songs and created playlists and sync my iPod with out losing everything I have recorded on it. How can I fix this? This so important and urgent and I if I cant present this video in court I may lose my case against this cruel heartless and greedy ****** up surgeon who took advantage of me when I was already at my worst. i've suffered more than I can even begin to explain without completely losing my mind and I can not afford to lose my record of her negligent actions, it's all I have to prove my case.
Please please help me, I beg of you, please. I thank you for you time and wish you a great holiday season and a wonderful New years... I only hope this new year will be a far better one for me than thie past 7 years, especially this one. Thank you kindly.

I recently updated my ITines software to version10 and since the update it doesn't recognise my Iphone/ It also takes 2 - 3 minutes from clicking the icon to firing up the software.

ThanksActually, Chris, I found that page yesterday on my own doing a search, before I wrote my post. After your instructions didn't work, I found that page and tried deleting the iAdcore.dll and that did not work. When I tried to open it said it didn't have the iAdcore and could not be opened. There was no QTMovieWin there to delete. I again uninstalled everything in the order listed on this new page, because there were 7 things to uninstall (not 5 as your last page suggested). I found that I had iCloud so that was deleted in the proper order. Did not have MobileMe on the computer. Also deleted Apple Application support, which wasn't on your list either. I restarted the computer. I looked for any files on drive C program files as indicated, and did not find any of those files. I went to the iTunes page and downloaded the latest version yet again (maybe the 5th time?). And I got the same notice:
"The iTunes Library.itl cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the iTunes folder in the music folder."
I went to that iTunes folder in the music folder there are a number of iTunes library folders and none of the open except one. The ones that don't open give me the same dialogue box as above. The last folder opens to a page of codes, I guess that's what it is. Gobbeldy gook to me. But that folder is listed at the top in the URL as itTunes Library.xml. I don't see any .itl. Is that the folder I need? And how do I get that??
I don't know if that last paragraph is significant, but I thought I'd include just in case it is.
BTW, can I just download an older version of iTunes? And how can I find it? I still have the old version on my old computer which is at home. Not sure how to get it from that to this one.
