I'm using DVD Studio Pro 4 and as I try to burn a double layer DVD I get a message saying "The disc is the wrong type for the operation". I've tried several brands, but I get the same message. What can possibly be wrong?

If you are trying to do this on the internal Superdrive they have problems writing to Dual Layer DVD disks of any make and or type.
IMHO the DVD drive Apple uses is not very good.
If this is a fairly new Mac system I suggest you take it to an Apple store and show them that it can't write to Dual Layer DVD discs of any make and maybe they will replace it with on e that will.

Elements 9 saved file "cannot open because it is the wrong type of file"

I have Windows XP. I just purchased Photoshop Elements 9.
I open a raw, tiff or jpg image in Elements 9, make changes to it and then save it as a tiff or jpg.
About a third of the time the icon for the saved image appears as a file and not a thumbnail of the image in my saved folder.
When I try to re-open it in Elements 9 I get the message "Cannot open because it is the wrong type of file"
I never had this problem with Elements 7.

Every camera model has its own raw format, and Adobe can't update the camera raw plug-in until it gets the information from the manufacturer, and the process takes a while. You shouldn't have to wait more than a couple of months for this. In the meantime you can use the manufacturer's software, or try downloading the latest DNG converter to see if it can make DNG files from your camera that will work in ACR.
Incidentally, you're not talking to adobe here, just to other users like yourself.

.RW2 File "Cannot open because it is the wrong type of file" - P.E. 9

I just got the new Panesonic Lumix DMC-G3 and took some pictures with it today and found that Photoshop Elements couldn't open the pictures because they were the "wrong type of file". Now the file format is a Raw .RW2 and I have opened many of them before in the past and they have been just fine! I think it may be that Photoshop isn't updated yet, because I checked and I had no new updates but do any of you have any ideas as to how I could fix this?! (Besides switching to JPEG)

Nikon raw files would open up in Adobe Camera Raw and so should jpegs.
If you select one in Bridge and give the command "Ctrl r" (Windows), what happens?

It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?

Photos are automatically rated with one star upon import

Hi. I've noticed recently that everytime I connect my camera and import my photos into LR that all of the photos are automatically rated with one star. Even when I go to select all, set rating to zero, nothing changes. What am I missing here and how does all of my photos automatically get rated upon import? It's annoying that I have unrate each and every single photo. I have looked all over and I can't find anything that mentions photos being rated automatically. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Check your import presets to see if one is selected that contains the one star assignment.

MX 6.1: ARGUMENT values in the wrong place

Im having a very strange problem. I have a CF web service I
am invoking and sending it several arguments. In one web service
method it works fine and Im only sending 3 arguments. The other I
am sending 6 and when I dump the ARGUMENTS arrary the values are
with the wrong name. Below is some sample code and what my dump

Update: I renamed my Main.cfc and the problem stopped. It
doesnt really explain why it was happening but at least it works

I have had several iisues with my Apple ID accounts and spent many hours at the APPLE store in Richmond Va. getting them fixed. The technician was wonderful, patient and very knowlegeable, however he was not able to complete the task and said I needed to contact Apple support for the final step. During the process of fixing things I ended up with two APPLE ID accounts. my main accout is suelefriends (at) gmail (dot) com and the second account is "pra1949 (at) me (dot) com" I have most of my apps tied to the main account with only a few to the pra1949 account. I also have $25 worth of credit on the pra1949 account. Because of the two accounts it still makes updating apps very confusing and very cumbersome. I would like to have the two accounts merged so I end up with one account with all the money and APPS tied to it, that way I only need one password to update. I hope this is possible.

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here and they don't monitor these forums - I've asked the hosts to remove yout account ids from your post.
In terms of combining accounts it's not currently possible to do so, nor to copy/transfer content from account to another.

Sign out in System Preferences>iCloud and sign in with the correct ID.

My time capsule will allow only one machine to connect to the internet at a time. Connection sharing is "off" on the Airport Utility. When I try to share an IP address I get the message that "DHCP range that I entered conflicts with the WAN IP address" I

Suddenly, my time capsule will not allow more than one computer to connect to the internet at a time. On the Airport Utility on the internet tab, Connection Sharing is "Off (Bridge Mode)" When I try to change it to sharing an IP address, I get two messages that the beginning and ending DHCP addresses that the DHCP addresses I've entered conflict with the WAN address of my Apple wireless device."

I use a DSL to connect to the internet. The modem is a Westell C90-810030-06. Two things happened in connection with the fail. I upgraded the firmware in both my Time Capsule (connected to the DSL) and the Airport Extreme (connected to my printer--used to extend the network). I also upgraded my Colof Nook to the Android Faux Tablet version. I can't imagine that that is creating some sort of mismatch.
I have now downgraded the firmware on the Time Capsule to 7.4.1 which is what I had before. Fortunately, I found the trick to downloading the older airport utility to find the older firmware. All the older versions disappeared from my computers.
I still have the same problem. Wifi works fine. If a second device connects to the wifi, then it works fine, but the first no longer has a connection.
And my Airport Extreme is not working at all. It cannot be seen by the computer. I tried resetting it. I'm going to connect it by ethernet and downgrade the firmware on it.
I appreciate any help. This is so frustrating.
