Artwork Button Grayed-Out

I have some MP3s of an unknown sample rate and different bit depths. I would like to add artwork to these files, but iTunes has the artwork button grayed-out. I can convert the MP3s to AAC, but the quality will suffer, and I don't have the original uncompressed audio to start with.
Is there a solution to this?
Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Quad Xeon Mac OS X (10.4.7) 3 GB RAM

If you do a Get Info on the MP3 in iTunes and select the Artwork tab can you add there?
If you Ctrl Click the track in iTunes and Show in Finder then do another Get Info are the permissions set correctly?

Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro Save button grayed out

I have a user with Windows 7 with a fresh install of Adobe acrobat 8 pro and everytime you open a pdf and type in it the Save button is grayed out. You can go to Save file as but why is the Save button grayed out? I have ran updates and even removed it again and reinstalled still the Save button is grayed out? I even created a new pdf with just test word in it and saved it to desktop the button was still grayed out when i reopened it.

Only the fully updated Acrobat 9 and Acrobat X products support use under Windows 7.

Address Book "Edit" button grayed out...unable to edit

Had to edit a contact's info and was surprised to find the Edit button grayed out, not allowing me to click it. Repairing permissions has not helped.

V.K., thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, before I got to try it, I re-launched Address Book one more time and found it will no longer launch. Its Dock icon just keeps bouncing. Not only that, but I've also found that iCal and Mail will no longer launch, either. The iCal calendar pane and the Mail main window open, but the beach ball spins forever. I've never seen this before. Any ideas?
I tried a different account on the same computer. No problems there.

Join Button Grayed Out

My iPad connects with no problem at home on my Time Capsule and Airport Extreme Routers. At my office, I can't even find out if it will connect or not, because when I select the network to join it, as soon as I type in a password, the JOIN button grays out making it impossible to connect. On hold now with Apple for 20 minutes and they are scratching their heads. Not a good sign for a device I am otherwise crazy about. Anyone else got this issue? For what its worth, its a Linksys Router at the office.

Oh heck, nevermind. Turns out I was entering the wrong password. DOH! Nothing to see here, move along.

Data source active/inactive button grayed out in LBWE

When I was activating the Logistics datasource in LBWE, my data source status became red and the Active/Inactive button grayed out? how can I make this data source active again?

Hi Kumar,
The status will become Red and Active/Inactive is disable due to Extract structure activated but data source is not maintained. This happens once you change the extract structure to Include additional fields. Please do the below step:
in LBWE, Click on Data source (Technical name of your data source beside maintainance) and you will get maintainance screen, change if you want some thing or else leave as it is and save, Now the status for data source in LBWE will become yellow and activate/deactivate will enable.

Cannot Approve Journal Batch (Button grayed out in More Actions screen)

Cannot Approve Journal Batch (Button grayed out in More Actions screen)
The Journal Batch Approval notification goes to one or more approvers but when any approver opens the journal and tries to approve, the approve batch button is greyed out and nobody can approve the Journal batch. The approver has every authority amount and other wise.
Any idea what might be wrong? Do I need to setup something in Preference pages etc.,?

Are you looking at the Workflow Notifications page or GL page. Please give me the navigation used to reach the page. Typically in workflow notification details page, the Response buttons are either displayed or hidden based on whether the notification has a Result Type attached or not. I don't think they are greyed out based on any rule.
Workflow notifications does not check the approval authority by itself. Ann appropriate workflow notification with right content and result type should be sent based on the approval authority checked in a previous function activity.

There is an ignore EXIF setting Preferences. I can't remember if that is Bridge or Photoshop, but IIRC it is for DNG files.
Right. Check Photosho > Preferences > File handling and make sure 'Ignore EXIF tag, is not checked. I think that might do it, so long as it refers to sidecare files, because only RAW files would have one.

Why Are My Text Align Buttons Grayed Out?

My users are unable to center text when edited pages in CS3 and CS4. The standard paragraph alignment buttons are grayed out.
All the users of my site have Admin role, and I have set up the role to allow unrestricted editing. And "Allow Users to Apply Styles"... At screenshot of some of my settings is attached. I don't see why Contribute is not allowing this basic element to work.

I experienced the very same issue, but found an interesting quick-fix that worked for us.
Several of my webpage content managers reported that they could not change the text alignment in pages created using Dreamweaver nested templates. We use nested editable regions in order to restrict portions of the pages (i.e. banners and navigation menus) from being edited.
I found that Contribute CS4 could realign text in some parts of the affected pages, but not others.
Further exam revealed that Contribute could change the alignment on any text that was inside a table on those pages. If I inserted a table and then cut-n-pasted the problem text into the table, the text lost its style/formatting, but it could then have its alignment changed.
Any text not inside a table could not have the alignment changed by Contribute and changing its style/formatting made no difference.
One note though: It was interesting that after pasting the text into a table, if I selected a chunk of text, the alignment buttons grayed out again. However, if I simply clicked on the line of text (did not select it), the buttons remained active and the text alignment could be changed.
I don't know why it is happening. The nested regions were working fine, or so I thought, until recently.
The above is a quick-fix and got my page content managers back online, but I'm still searching for a long-term solution if anyone has one.

ICloud email won't send (it tries to send and then freezes, send button grayed out)

I can recieve email just fine. I can draft an email just fine. But it won't send. When I hit the send button, the email window goes away and a message box appears and disappears so fast I can't read it. The email window reapears with the "send" button grayed out. Once this happens, I can't close the email window. I have to quit mail. When I open mail back up, the email will still be there and I can close it. The send button is no longer grayed out, but if I hit send, the same thing happens (i.e., screen flashes and the send button is grayed out).
I've tried deleting the acouunt and reforming it. Didn't help. I checked to see that my outgoing server is "iCloud" and that it send on port 993 and the SSL check box is checked.
Any ideas?

Cluster (sub menu) submit button grayed out

hello all
as of today my compressor has stopped allowing me to submit the batch i set up.
having sent an item from FCP to compressor, i get to set the options for settings and destination and then when i hit the submit button a second menu pops down regarding cluster options of which i have none. i add a name to this box yet no mater what other options i change the *submit button in this sub menu remains grayed out!*

i have tried reinstalling compressor, and eventually the whole suit. i have removed the various prefs and qmaster stuff. i have used the fix compressor utility from digital rebel, repaired permissions and cleared out cache, but still *grayed out submit*.
what thoughts cloud genii?

I'm having the same problem.
This comes after suffering persistent crashing of Compressor 3.5 on launch and finally having to reinstall to at least fix the crashing problem. But now I can't submit any processes - the button is greyed out.
Can't remember setting this up originally, but it use to say "This Computer" for processing - do I need to add my computer to a list of available processors?

Address Book Does Not Link to Faces, Button Grayed Out

The import face from iPhoto button is grayed out and not active on my computer, is this new Lion feature not working or not yet acitved within Lion? Here's a description of how the feature was supposed to work (see bold text description). I can only browse for a photo or use the camera button.
If you like to match faces with names, the new Address Book can now pull pictures of your contacts from your iPhoto library. Double-click on the picture box on a card, then click on the Import Face From iPhoto button in the lower left corner. You’ll be presented with a grid showing up to eight faces associated with that name in iPhoto—complete with dates those shots were taken—with the current contact photo (if any) in the middle. If you have more than eight photos of a contact, you can use arrows at the bottom of the photo pop-up window to scroll through the others.

I have the same problem but only with a couple of my contacts.
matt.sheppard is right about having to have matching names in both applications but I still have a couple of contacts, with matching names, that it won't let me access their "face" in iPhoto.

Artwork button greyed out on imported CD.

I just imported AC/DC's Black Ice off CD. When I attempted to add the album cover (from a picture I snagged online), the Artwork button is greyed out. I don't have this issue with other songs on iTunes. Does anyone know if this is an issue with iTunes (and how to fix it) or with some copyright protection on the CD.

You probably ripped the CD using the wrong file format. MP3 and AAC support album artwork, but some other formats do not. You can change your Import Settings under Preferences->General.

Edit-flash button grayed out

No, PSE 6 and later never displays an icon for a sub-category. If you accidentally created a sub-category where a leaf keyword tag will do, change the sub-category to a keyword tag by right-clicking it, and then you'll be able to assign an icon. But if you change the keyword tag back to a sub-category, the icon will disappear.
None of that design seems very well thought out.

Edit button grayed out

I'm using Acrobat 10.1.13 on Mac OS X 10.9.5.
I have a form I created in Acrobat seven or eight years ago and have been using successfully since. I have edited it several times in the past. Today, I went to edit it and the Form Edit button is grayed out, for no apparent reason I can see. It is the only form option that is grayed out.
I searched the forum for similar reports; I examined the security and advanced security panels (nothing found, but I unchecked even the basic security that was there); I checked the document PDF/A setting (set it to "Never"), and it hasn't helped. I tried to "Save a copy" as recommended by another posting -- I found only "Save as... PDF," and when I tried that I was told "The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (14)."
I can still edit the document and i can still print it (though I have to use Preview to print, because since I upgraded to Acrobat 10 I always get "The document count not be printed / There were no page selected to print" when I try to print from Acrobat, and have been unable to resolve that, either).
The form does pretty intricate inter-field computations, so it would be a serious effort to recreate from scratch.
Is there any way I can get this working again?

Forward button grayed out in TB v31

Customized the toolbars in TB v31 to add a few buttons, including Forward on the toolbar on the screen that's open when reading a specific message. Forward is grayed out and doesn't work, but the other buttons I added to this toolbar all work. I've removed Forward and put it back but it still doesn't work.
The pre-existing Forward button that's over on the right side beneath the toolbar in the group of buttons Reply-Forward-Junk-Delete does work.
I also added Forward to the toolbar visible when viewing the Inbox, Drafts, Sent, and Trash tabs. That Forward button works as expected.
Not a critical bug and an oddity in v31 since this wasn't a problem in the previous version. Using Win 7 Pro, SP1.

i do have 9.2, but i just found out from a coworker that certain features on itunes have been blocked for security reasons. dangit, i'll have to wait another 2 hours until i get home.
