As of the Yosemite upgrade, I can't watch movies or tv shows using iTunes or Safari.

As of Yosemite upgrade, I can't watch any movies or tv shows using iTunes or Safari.  I have not previously had this problem before, and I have not changed anything with the monitor.  Here is what I get...  (This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP)  However, I can still watch Netflix using Firefox and Google Chrome browsers, but not with Safari.   (Using a Mini Mac with an LG Monitor Display)  Using HDMI to DVI Apple adapter.  I also tried a straight HDMI cable connection, which made no difference. My Apple TV plays just fine on this monitor.  LG Monitor Model #DM2350D

Never mind i guess. The iTunes parental controls changed randomly to restricted certain ratings even though i've never touched those in my life. fix your **** apple.

The airplay icon has disappeared from my MAC desktop. It was there two weeks ago when I successfully used it to 'flick a movie i had purchased from iTunes over to my tv. Also, if I rent the movie through iTunes, why (because of the above issue) when I go to 'Purchased' it doesn't display as an option when actually using Apple TV, it doesn't display but when I go to rent it again a message comes up saying "you have already rented this movie, do you want to rent it again"? Frustrated!!

Ok Fellas, let me give you a clue:  Games, particularly those that make heavy use of graphics and sound are notoriously power hungry.  In fact, when I was in the Navy many years ago, the folks working on the NTDS (Navy Tactical Data System)  computers used a version of Space Invaders to load test the AN/UYK-43 computers.
I have also noticed that all of my laptops (I have a brand new Toshiba dual core, an older Toshiba single core, plus 2 Dell dual core machines) have significantly shorter battery life when I play Company of Heroes than when I am just reading e-mail or surfing the 'Net.  I have also noticed the same behavior when I play games on my 4th gen Touch and my iPhone 4.
The fact is, iOS 5 did make some major improvements as well as adding some nice functionality like iMessage, wireless synch, and such, but the down side is that depending on how you use the device battery life can be shorter that what you may have experienced with pervious versions of iOS.  Its just the nature of the beast...

  • Can not transfer Movies or TV Shows from iTunes to Apple TV any more

    Hi,
I've been having syncing problems lately, but this latest one I can't solve. My iMac is running 10.6.3 with iTunes 9.1.1 (11). When I sync between the Mac and the Apple TV, everything (music, photos, podcasts, playlists) gets copied except movies and TV shows I've purchased through iTunes.
I've tried automatic sync, custom sync with the movies and TV shows selected. I've tried 'Transfer Purchases', but all I ever get is the "Syncing Apple TV" message with the 'busy' bar, and no actual progress.
Can anyone suggest anything else I can try? I've been through the solutions in this forum already, and nothing has worked

the current version is 9.1.1 (12). get the installer from here http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and run it over your existing installation.

  • I paused the download of the Yosemite upgrade.  Now, for the last hour, I have a "waiting" message and can't un-pause.

I paused the Yosemite upgrade download (my home DSL was going to take 9 hours plus).  Now, I cannot un-pause and have a "waiting" message next to the pause icon.

My machine paused or froze at 3.6 GB.  Upt to then it was downloading.  I made random keystrokes and changed PREFS - ENERGY SAVER to Never Sleep.

Hello I formatted my iMac today and wanted to download iphoto again but after i press the button to install it in the app store nothing happens! same with the yosemite upgrade.. In the iPhoto ratings there are alot of other people facing this problem I hope somebody can help me. thank you in advance

If you have OS X 10.6.8 as you state you can not get iphoto form the App store - you must have Yosemite OS X 10.10. installed to download iphoto 9.6 from the App store
If Nothing happens then you need to contact App store support - link is on the right of the App store window

  • How do I uninstall the Yosemite upgrade?

I installed The Yosemite upgrade a few weeks ago and my OS is significantly slower even after I upgraded the memory from 2GB to 8. The mouse is sluggish and screen turnover is also slow. The initial OS was Mountain Lion. How do I remove this upgrade? I purchased the MAC Mini on 12/23/2011.
    Thanks,...John

To downgrade OS X you will need to erase the disk drive before the older version of OS X can be installed. This is a significant undertaking to accomplish. Before doing that you might want to trouble shoot to see if you can find the cause for the sluggishness.
I suggest you download and install EtreCheck from http://etresoft.com/etrecheck
Run EtreCheck and publish report here. This report will help us to help you.

  • After the latest upgrade, I can't transfer my library audiobook cd's from my computer to my iPod so I can listen to the book. The book shows up on my computer, but not on my iPod.

After the last upgrade, I can't transfer my library audiobook cd's from my computer to my iPod so that I can listen to the book. It seems to be transferring but
doesn't show up on my iPod. How do I find the transferred files on my iPod Classic 60GB? Help! I've done this thousands of times before, and this is the 1st
time I've had a problem, so I'm suspecting the upgrade.

For non-purchased music like CD ripped songs, you need some third party software like sharepod, yamipod or iPod file manager to copy them from iPod back to computer. if you need details, here is a guide about how to copy iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • Since the Yosemite upgrade on my macbook pro I have not been able to sync with my Nokia Lumia

Since the Yosemite upgrade on my macbook pro I have not been able to sync with my Nokia Lumia and assume that this is an Apple issue?

    Two immediate questions:
    1. Why is this posted in Servers and Enterprise Software?
    2. What has this to do with Apple Remote Desktop?
If you have posted incorrectly, then you should try posting this in the proper forum.

  • I can't get Illustrator to work in the Yosemite Beta. Can anyone help?

    Hi there,
I can't get Illustrator to work in the Yosemite Beta. Can anyone help?
    Much appreciated,
    Jon

Thanks so much for reaching out!!!!
Here’s what I am experiencing more specifically:
    1. Illustrator is not showing up in my Application folder.
    2. My creative cloud app manager says that Illustrator is installed.
    3. I try to download it from Adobe.com and it never initiates the download.
    Does that ring any bells?
Thanks so much for your help!
    Grateful,

  • QuickTime on Yosemite wants but can't convert .mov files

I have upgraded to Yosemite and wanted to watch a .mov file that worked fine on Snow Leopard but on Yosemite I get that QT wants to convert the file but then can't. An Error message gives me the opportunity to learn more. I don't learn any more. Does anyone know why QT on Yosemite can't read and play .move files??

Does anyone know why QT on Yosemite can't read and play .move files??
Under Yosemite and Mavericks, the QT X player is not allowed to access proprietary/third-party codecs installed by the user for playback. If you have not removed any codecs during the Yosemite upgrade, and assuming the codecs are QT 7 playback compatible, you can install and use the QT Player 7 for Mac OS X 10.6.3 or Later app (if not already installed on your system). This QT 7 player is compatible with Mac OS X v10.6.3 thru Yosemite and allows access to codecs for which a user has configured his or her system—assuming those codecs are compatible with the QT 7 player. (I.e., since the file played under Snow Leopard, chances are good that QT 7 can play it also under Yosemite.) Other possible options would be to play the file using a free third-party media player like VLC or use an app like HandBrake to convert your file to a QT X v10.4 player compatible file. (Oops! Once again too slow in typing a response.)

  • Can't watch movies on yosemite

i usually watch movies and tv shows on nowvideo and novamov using google chrome. since i downloaded yosemite i can no longer use nowvideo or novamov. it says that i have to download adobe flash player but i already have this and it's still not working.  help me please.

If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
              When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
              Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
              Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
              Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 9
    Select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
