This would be wonderful but, the older firmware makes the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX, unresponsi've in -+ 5 minutes.
All Programs are unresponsi've after 5 minutes, if I unplug the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX my programs start to respond again. Resetting the firmware to factory default (v..05050), I get no problems, except that the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX response on a USB 2.0 port as if it'ss plug-in on a USB . Port.
I don?t have any problems with any other USB 2.0 hardware! They all work fine and I DON?T get any error telling me I would get High speed if the hardware was plug into a USB 2.0 plug. BECAUSE IT IS A USB 2.0 PORT!
The problem lies in the with in the firmware.
Would you please update the firmware.

The drivers Creative releases are based on the Extigy.
If I look at the drivers you write for the PCI range (Audigy, Audigy 2 and Audigy 4 Series) they are better.
The Sound Blaster USB Range, Especially the Audigy Range can do so much more with the right drivers.
I suggested, you create a driver for the USB Composite Device. That emulates a PCI slot. This would allow the External Sound Blaster USB range to install your new and very advance PCI drivers.

In Surround Sound Mixer under the Advance Button there should be a Balance/Fade window. Again there is no such window because you base it on the Extigy.

You can backup the bookmarks on the old computer and create a JSON or HTML backup and restore or import this file in the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks).
You can use an USB stick to transfer the saved bookmarks file to the new computer. 
You can also copy the places.sqlite file from that computer to have the bookmarks and the history.

Safe to install very old drive?

I have a very old (9-ish years) Maxtor 3.5-inch EIDE hard-drive kit. I need to back up its irreplaceable & valuable contents. But I'm nervous to install it in my Mac Pro (OS x v. 10.5.8). It's what I'm editing my film on, and the mac's already dodgy. Question: is it safe to install this drive? Or could doing so cause the mac to develop issues, or harm the drive's contents?

*I should note for anyone who is thinking of doing the same, the Protect-A-Drive (silicon sleeve for the hard drive) had to be pulled back a little in order for the cable to access the drive's port.

Leopard, now bad safari, and mutiple hard drives

So after i installed leopard everything except safari worked great. It just randomly decides it only wants to load half of the pictures, and if you hit refresh then it will say something about conection lost. most of my photos are just blue boxes with question marks. so i downloaded netscape navigator and it works great so i kinda resolved that problem. so today i start up my mac book, and i noticed that it was taking FOREVER! so it starts up, along with 2 extra HD's, named macintosh HD alias and alias 2. is it ok to delete these or is it gonna freak out and mess everything up? and another thing about the HD is sometimes when i start up my macbook, it will have randomly moved my HD icon to the other side or in the middle or somewhere and named it something weird like "N" or "/". whats up with that ? can anyone tell me whats going on?

I know this question has already been answered, but I'm having the same issue with the HD aliases and I know it shouldn't "freak out and mess everything up" but when I try to move either HD alias to the trash it asks for my admin password. This is rather alarming because it seems to suggest that deleting these aliases could cause some serious problem or something. Can anyone please explain to me that this is not a problem, and why it's not? That would be most helpful! Thanks!!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

I have an issu, every image i bring or change trough Photoshop CS6 and transfer to Indesign CS6 or Illustrator CS6 comes out in very bad quality and very pixelated whyle printed.
The original image in photoshop is 29x32 cm with 300 ppp.
When i transfer in Indesign, i have to reduce the site via the adjustment button and it comes in terrible quality.
It never happen before, its just recently, and i didn't change my way to save or the properties of my Photoshop, so if someone can help me to resolve this problem, i will be glad.

Before I should save the image as a PSD (without Clipping Mask and dont flatten the image). the print would come out different colours...not the same.
Are you saying the printer can't get a .PSD to output, or a PSD's color is unpredictable? Sounds like your printer can print .PSDs, but you have a color management problem. By different colors do you mean that the printed CMYK color values are different than what was in the placed PSD? If that's the case it may be that the PSD had a profile that conflicted with the InDesign document profile and you are getting unexpected color conversions somewhere in the workflow.

Mavericks and unmounting external drive issues upon sleep

Greetings fellow Mavericks users,
I'm hoping someone here can provide some insight as to how to correct the issue I'm experiencing.
Little background:
I was using 10.6.8 for years on a 2008 Mac Pro. I saw no reason to update the OS until I recently acquired a USB 3.0 PCI card and an external drive. In order to use my new hardware, I had no choice but to upgrade to a new version of OSX. Rather than spend money, I took advantage of the free 10.9.2 upgrade available for my machine. The upgrade went surprisingly well with no major hiccups or problems encountered. Yes, a few apps and programs I had running prior to the upgrade were no longer compatible but in the grand scheme of things, my Mac Pro was still alive and kicking along with my most important programs and data. In fact, the upgrade to 10.9.2 fixed a sleep issue I had with 10.6.8 which required the use of an app called PleaseSleep. I don't need that app anymore as the machine goes to sleep and wakes up fine.
Now, on to my dilemma. Prior to the upgrade, I was using an external USB 2.0 drive to house media that I'd share between multiple network devices around the house via SMB (AFP stinks in this regard, hence my refusal to use it); i.e. BoxeeBox. I had run out of space on the USB2 drive hence the need to move everything to my new external USB3 drive that's connected to an internal USB3 PCI controller. The first problem I ran into was that Mavericks now uses Apple's own iteration of Samba (SMB2). After a bit of head scratching and research, I used an application called SMBUp as a replacement to Apple's SMB implementation. That's one problem solved. The next thing that I kept running into was that whenever the machine would sleep then wake up again, I'd get an annoying "Disk was not properly ejected" error message. After more head scratching and research, I've discovered that this appears to be a bug in OSX and how the OS interfaces with 3rd party USB controllers. Fine. I purchased a small app called Jettison which for all intents and purposes unmounts any external drives automatically before allowing the system to sleep. This is where my long-winded (apologies) description above starts to come into play. Now that I have the SMB issue figured out and am using Jettison to eject this USB3 drive when the machine sleeps, I've discovered that I'll still get the "Disk did not properly eject" error message despite Jettison IF there are users connected to the USB3 media drive. Is there a work around this where I can either get Jettison or Mavericks to kill the network connection to the share drive before it's unmounted prior to the machine sleeping?
TL:DR?
Using Jettison with Mavericks, I'm still getting "Disk did not eject properly" when waking the machine from sleep mode. Any way to fix this?

Bad sound and low subwoofer output on Audigy 2 zs with 5.1 5

Hi,
I am getting very very low subwoofer output on my Audigy2 ZS with 5. 5200.
To test furthter, i did the follownig
play mp3,
2 output is from front speakers
3 very very low subwoofer output
4 to confirm, removed green (front) black (read) cabled from sound card and can confirm a very very low subwoofer output
earlier with Li've! 5. every thing was working great.
what could be wrong?
i think Audigy 2 zs is a bad card and is a marketting hype.

I have tried all the thx console setup and bass levels.
Its not affecting the subwoofer output very much.
<Infact the subwoofer output is so low that i have to go and put my ears on the subwoofer to see if its producing sound.
Remember that with Li've! 5. (SB0220) which also i have with me is giving all the great results. so the problem is not with speakers but with the sound card and i want my costly card (zs) to work.
(i still believe the 5. 5200 3 pole cables (green, black, yellow) which we attached to the sound card and speakers are not compatible with Audigy2 zs as zs needs 4 pole cables - but i have not verified this still as it will be a long time consuming exercise - purchasing 4 pole pins and soldering here and there on cables and poles and testing testing)
Also, why the bass boost controls (level and cutoff frequency) in bass boost are disabled? how to bring them to enabled state?
Also, in thx console setup (calibration page) , its not SAVING the changes which i make to Distance, Level and Angle. Why is that so?
To help you further in understand my problem please note that i HAVE updated all the software to its latest versions by doing the software AutoUpdate from creative support site.
So i am having atleast 3 issues now

though the issue in that link is with audigy (2zs) and 5. digital, if you go through that whole thread, you will realise what we go through. THE SUBWOOFER OUTPUT IS A BAD PROBLEM WE ALL ARE FACING WITH AUDIGY AND RELATED.
I think i am hopeful of a solution as i was always an admirer of creative sound cards (the reason i purchased this costly audigy2 zs). but looking at the issues i am facing, it makes me feel it was a bad bad decision to purchase this costly card.

Have you downloaded everything that is on the camera? If so format the SD card on the camera (will erase everything on the card).
If you have not downloaded everything can you see stuff on the camera? If you have a card reader you could try putting the SD card in that and trying on the mini. If your mini has a SD card slot you could try that.
In any case format the card on the camera before taking more pics.
Next time be sure to eject the camera from the Mac properly and turn the camera off before disconnecting.
EDIT: You might also check the camera's USB Mode is set to PC.

ASIO with Audigy 2 NX not work

I am having trouble with this -
My Soundblaster 2 NX has too much latency when using the standard drivers. My midi triggers way before the audio plays from the soundblaster. After some research I realize that I could decrease this latency by using the ASIO drivers. I updated to the latest drivers and firmware and when I try chosing the "CREATIVE ASIO USB" from within Fruity Loops it says "ERROR WHILE CREATING THE ASIO DRIVER". Could you post a picture showing all those selectable device drivers showing on FL (you can use free imagshack for hosting http://www.imageshack.us/). Also, have you searched the system registry for possible ASIO keys --> pointing some DLL -file (the Device Driver name (i.e. Creative USB ASIO) maybe is showing there but is there a DLL linked)?
Did you try the Asio4All? It should work w/ under 0ms latency on FL.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

My 551L connection reliability was so bad I could not complete the firmware download so I took it to my local Verizon phone store. They did the latest (1.48 4/30/2012) upgrade. Do not expect any improvements. This thing remains an unstable piece of junk regardless of the firmware version.

Im so confused now (after reading thru these forums all day) as to what exactly I need to do to get my brand new USB Creative Audigy2 NX working with my Vista Ultimate 64bit OEM edition. Every other thing I have on my pc works just fine, except this stupid USB audigy2 NX. I just got rid of my XtremeMusic pci card as Im lacking space inside the PC, and spent big $$$ on this USB unit. But it doesnt work
!!! I can get all the control panels working (such as bass settings, eax etc) but I simply get NO sound whatsoever. I believe the latest July drivers dont work (well, they dont give me any sound), the february drivers dont seem to be working for me, do I use the XP64bit drivers? What do I need to do? Got print out upon print out from these forums here in front of me, spent 5hrs last night trying to get it working to no avail, and now I think Ive read to many different things and have no idea of where to start. Suggesstions plz? Whats the basic & easy answer ?cheers in advance.

9hours later and Ive given up. I cant get the Vista 64 Ultimate to work with the Audigy 2Nx usb sound card. Im very angry and very frustrated (not to mention very tired from the 2 late nights Ive spent trying to work it out). Im not a PC-noob, but am only 4days into my Vista ownership................... Im guessing now, after much research, that there will never be a driver that gets these units to work with Vista 64bit. thats pretty weak Creative. However, I dont want to use crappy onboard sound for my gaming.What is the suggestion?Should I be looking at returning this unit, and buying either the X-Fi Xtremegamer?Fatality Pro as?a highend device, or the X-Fi Xtremegamer for $00 less? Or should I be looking at another manufacturer. Would either of these x-fi gamers work with Vista 64bit Ultimate?suggestions please?
