Hi,
If you are scrapping the part of asset, the T.code ABAVN.
In T.codes ABAON & ABAVN, you need to select is it related to "previous yr acquisition" or Current yr acquisition" in partial retirement tab page.

  • Incorrect posting in asset accounting after legacy asset transfer

I have an issue in Asset accounting.
The depreciation key used is LINA (with a base method 0009 and Dec. bal. method – 001 straight line depreciation)
    My question is:
An asset was acquired 02/01/2005. It has an expected useful life of 1/11.
    Under AS93.
I see the asset  ***. acquisition value 205,695.00
    Accu.ord. deprec  - 78,784.06
The asset was transferred to SAP  at 03/31/2007.
Now In aw01n  I see the following:
Legacy data transfer Per – 3 Ord. deprec – 10,143.87
    Posted Per – 4 – 13,364.13
    Posted 5 – 5877.00
    Posted 6. 5877
    Till 8th month posted 5877.
The posted values are wrong. Since it was transferred to SAP it has a useful life
of 1 year. At this rate it will go for 3 years.
What can I do to rectify this error?
    Why is it posting 5877?
    Thanks,

    Hi Roma,
The useful life has to be the Total Useful life of the asset.
Since your useful life is less than the expired usefull life the system is calculating depr. for after the end of useful life, which for base method 0009 is curbing.
    <i>Curb
With depreciation beyond the planned useful life, the depreciation percentage rate can be derived, not only from the planned useful life, but also from the actual useful life. This method produces a declining-balance effect instead of a straight-line effect (curb).
Use Base Method 0007, this does not curb.
    Kind regards
An asset that originally had a useful life of 10 years is depreciated in year 11 by 1/11 = 9.09 %, in year 12 by 8.33 % and in year n with 100/n %.
When you use below-zero depreciation with a curb, the system determines the percentage rate, after the end of planned life, to the exact period and not to the year.</i>

  • ERROR Message no. AU265 :While closing asset accounting year ------ URGENT

    Hi All,
THE ISSUE IS URGENT . Please help in resolving it.
One of our users have missed to do the repeat depreciation run for
Asset 4464 (Co. code 0006)in 12th period as she has raised a credit
    memo for this
Asset after she did normal depreciation run for period 12, 2007.
Than the financial year 2007 FI-GL was closed and when she was trying
to do Asset year closing for 2007 through t-code AJAB she got the error
that “depreciation not updated for asset 4464” and realized that she hasmissed a repeat depreciation run .
Than I replied back to her that there is no other way out to solve this
problem other than to get the last fiscal year opened and than do the
repeat run and not to do any posting for this year before closing the
    previous year.
But in the mean while she has already posted the depreciation for
Jan ’08 for all assets and also posted the value for 4464 Asset in
Period Jan’08 . Now when she is running AJAB she is getting error the
    following error.
AU265 : Documents from last posting run in 2007 are not yet updated.
The sequence which the user has followed is as follows:
First, I ran depreciation for all assets in period 1, 2008 with no errors.  But, the December depreciation for asset 4464 did not post in this run.
Then, I posted depreciation for asset 4464 in period 1 2008 (see document 300000881), with no errors by following the steps in the attached document.
    1.     T-code AFAB
    2.     Entered the criteria with repeat run for Asset 4464(I knew SAP would not allow me to post to 12/2007)
    3.     F9 – to process in background
    4.     T-code SM35 to process batch
    5.     Received error that period 12/2007 was not open for posting
    6.     Changed posting date to 01/2008 and processed the batch
    7.     Now, the remaining December 2007 depreciation for asset 4464 posted.  See document 300000881.
    8.     T-code AJAB (Year-End Closing Asset Accounting), again
    9.     Received message that the Close was not carried out because ‘Documents from last posting run in 2007 are not yet updated’.
Please tell what can be done now to resolve this error.
Points will be rewarded if your answer helped.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prachi

    Prachi,
I faced a similar situation from 2004, we transfered that portion of credit memo into a dummy company code / Asset and a manual adjustment in 2007 for the credit memo portion... ofcourse there will be a difference but explainable...
In your situation... check if you can open 2007 repost the depreciation for 12 and clear this issue?
    Hopefully this helps.

    Hi
There is perform which moves the values to VBAP field.
This PRCTR field is stored in VBAP (i.e., SO line item table)
    USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAP
    Hope it works.

  • Vat charge when we sale asset through asset accounting f-92

what configuration settings we need to be done to charge vat on asset sale through asset accounting f-92.

    Hi Abhi
What I have seen clients doing is this:
They post F-92 to remove the assets from the assets register...Either with or without tax
Then they post VF01 with 100 discount so that VF01 posts only the Tax amount incase its not posted in F-92
Later on you can print the invoice from SD and pass it on to the customer

  • Assets accounting :: urgent::

    all
we have some assets in my company... there is no grn, po we could not by from anyone that assets
is there any chance book that assets in sap( giveing assets number) without making any payment( without po , grn)
    could you explaine me??
    regards
    ss

    Hi Supriya,
If your are not buying an asset for cash, then there is obviously a vendor.
Then If there is no GRN etc. and if you cannot define the vendor under the normal purchases vendor (vendor for materials), then go ahead and define a different vendor account group say for eg: Vendor - assets (name it what ever way you want after confirming), defined this particular vendor under the aforesaid vendor account group.
    Then define asset using AS01.
Take the asset number generated, go to f-90, give the vendor number(P Key 31), along with transaction type and then go ahead and give 70 P Key, along with the asset number generated.
hope this is going to help you

  • Accd dep is not coming as a line item in Sale of Asset.

    Hi Fi Experts,
The issue related to Asset a/cing.
I have configured everything in Asset a/cing, while doing the Sale of Asset (F-92), i suppose to see all the 6 Line items, but i am not getting the Accumulated dep one, cud u pls help me out, whts the mistake i have done or if i have missed any settings..
    rgds
    Raj.

    Hi
In Asset Accounting Configuration , Assign GL Accounts-- AO90 , you must assign Accumulated Depreciation A/C for Ordinary Deprecaition and Expense A/C for Ordinary Depreciation.
If you double click on Depreciation you will get these fields which GL Accounts to be entered.
    This will solve your problem.

  • Error - Asset Accounting

    Hi All,
I have an Issue in Asset Accounting.Details are mentioned bellow. Pls help me with your advices to resolve this.
Fiscal year assigned for our Company Code is Z1 and it starts from April 2007 till March 2008. We have run the depreciation for 8 periods (i.e., from April 2007 to Dec 2007). After posting the depreciation for December 2008, Management has decided to change the fiscal year to April 2007 to Dec 2007. So that we will have the Calendar year as the Fiscal year from 2008 (jan 2008 to Dec 2008). So that i have change the posting periods by shortened the fiscal year.
As System calculates the depreciation for 12 months and it distributes into 12 periods in that year, postings are done for the first 9 months (Apr 2007 to Dec 2007). And there is balance of 3 months depreciation not posted in the system according to the system initial calculation. So while running the depreciation for 1st Posting Period of 2008 (jan 2008) system has shown error. And so that i have test run the depreciation (AFAB) for the December 2007 with selection of Repeat Run. Results of the test run shows as Amount Posted in Dec 2003 is with correct figures and amount to be posted is with the amount of the 3 months depreciation. So system is expected to post the 3 months Depreciation. Only then we could able to run the depreciation for January 2008.
But we are not required to post those 3 months depreciation in Dec 2007 as that is the last posting period in 2007 and we have already posted the depreciation for this month.
Pls help me to provide the solution to change the amounts which are shown in Amount to be posted column if i repeat run for Dec 2007.
    Thanks in advance

  • Asset accounting and Inventory management.

Hi gurus, I need your advice.
We want to control our inventory and our fixed assets in order to be able to match the amounts between both modules. The main difficulty is that not all the items we register into the inventory module generate a fixed asset (we have sixty thousand inventory items and seven thousand fixed assets).
The way I have thought to solve it is the next: currently we have and asset class per Fixed Asset GL Account. I want to create two asset classes per GL Account, one for the fixed assets that are into the Inventory Module and other for the Fixed Assets that aren´t in the Inventory Module.
Do you think it is ok or do you have a better/easier solution??
    Many thanks in advance.
    BR//Alberto.

Since you mention there is an inventory module, and there is a fixed assets module - consider that the two are very different.
Inventory is merchandise for sale.  When its costs are recognized, those costs are recorded as costs of sale or costs of goods sold.  Inventory can be purchased or it can be constructed, but when we sell the items to customers we recognize both the revenue and the costs at the same time.  The gross margin is the net gross profit or loss.  Inventory has no depreciation.
Fixed assets are capital assets used by the organization to do the things the firm is in the business of doing.  The tools used to build/construct inventory are capital assets (used in more than one year).  Fixed assets will not be sold as a main purpose of the organization.  Only inventory is sold as a main purpose of the organization to earn a profit.  Since fixed assets benefit the organization for more than one year, we spread the costs over all those years in which revenue is generated by the fixed asset use.  This is the matching principle to recognize costs when the revenue is recognized.  To achieve this, we use the AFAR and AFAB depreciation process to spread that APC value across all periods that will benefit from the "tools."
I think you are already using MM for your inventory module.  There can be different classes of inventory just as there can be different classes of fixed assets in SAP.  Each class has its own reconciling account.  Each is its own subsidiary ledger/listing of items that sum to the balance in the reconciling account.  Subledger transactions will automatically update the reconciling account balances for the class - whether we are talking fixed assets or inventory.
I hope this can help, since it sounded like the terminology was confusing.  Neither SAP or accounting is simple.  Regards
