Asset report with master data fields

It seems like that all standard asset reports can not display fields from the master record of the asset like room, user fields, etc. But those fields are there in the selection screen of standard reports. Is there standard report that can show me the asset values and fields from the asset master record?

A comment from my side, for fixed asset related data like the fields you mentioned are available in asset history sheet report and all available fields are easily exported into Excel sheet if only the 'Use ALV grid' indicator under the 'Display options' is activated. Alternatively building a separate report using the query tool as mentioned.
However from end user perspective, the former may be readily accessible and with minimum maintenance when compared to the later as it requires the knowledge of database table relationship and query creation.

Asset report with vendor number and vendor desc wise

Hi Gurus
The requirement is to generate asset reports with the below fields:
Asset class, Asset number & desc, vendor number & desc
Suppose say all asset balances should be reported by vendor name and desc.
I couldn't get the right results using an existing or a custom sort version. Do not want to go with a custom report or a SAP query.
Any pointers in this regard would be helpful.

You can use table ANLA.
Populate the asset field then go to settings tab and choose fields.
Check the following fields given below:
BUKRS
ANLN1
ANLKL
LIFNR
TXT50
then execute.

You can export a report with saved data and then change the filtering without hitting the DB again. If you are asking if using a flat file as the data source there are multiple ways to do this. Define an ODBC data source to the file and specify the sturcture, or using ADO.NET and a record set, or using XML as the data source. Lots of ways in newer versions of CR. 8.5 was limited so the ODBC example is your best option.
Or if you are asking how to get the data from the report you can use REadRecords. Not sure if 8.5 has this functionality though. It's way past it's end of life so I can't look.

Not supported, 8.5 has no .net assemblies and no RDC, only option would be to use RAS to make changes or reading records so you need to upgrade.

Display Title in BEX query for Master Data Field

Hi All,
Appreciate if someone can assist me in this.
When we display query result, we will have results of master data field for as master data and Text, e.g Customer and customer text.
BEX display:
Header Line : Customer
Display Line : 90002011 Mary Kay
90002023 John Smith
For the header Line, we have title 'customer', can we have the title for 'Customer Description' instead of having it as a blank field.
Appreciate if someone can assist me in this, I cant find this issue posted by anyone.

Hi,
For one object you can not have seperate description for key and text.
Either you need to have seperate object. Check if your Customer object is having some name attribute then display cutomer key with name attribute so that there will be two object and you may change the description in report display.
If this is not possible then you may not have dirctly in reporting. You need to stage one more object in staging area with same cutomer field then one you may use as text the other one as key.

If your case is "Order-related" Billing,you can use the T.Code "VF04" for this purpose.
One more way is to go for a custom report.
Make a copy of code of the T.Code "VA05n"(Program Name is "SD_SALES_ORDERS_VIEW").
Change the code as per your requirement to display the field "Billing Date" in the report.
Check with your ABAPer if you wish to go for a custom report.

Hi,
Once we make the MAster infoobject as the data target, then we can create the report on the master data. to make the IO as Data target , you just need to mention the tick mark for Infoprovide check box in the MAster data /Texts tab page of the IO.

InfoProvider:
This indicator specifies whether the characteristic is an InfoProvider.
If you want to use a characteristic as an InfoProvider, you have to assign an InfoArea to the characteristic. The system displays the characteristic in the InfoProvider tree in the Data Warehousing Workbench. You can use the characteristic as an InfoProvider in reporting and analysis.
You can only use a characteristic as an InfoProvider if the characteristic contains texts or attributes.
You can define queries for the characteristic (more precisely, for the master data of the characteristic) if you are using a characteristic as an InfoProvider. In this case, on the Attributes tabstrip, you are able to switch-on dual-level navigation attributes (navigation attributes for navigation attributes) for this characteristic in its role as InfoProvider.

The following are the steps to import and create "Prospects" via ELM
1. Prepare .csv file (keep stored on local machine)
2. Activate Customizing Workflow (follow C22 building block)
3. Use BADI - CRM_MKT_LIST to enhance the custom fields (via eewb) for filter criterion = Person. This BADI is filter dependent BADI (Mapping Format dependent)
4. Implement SAP Note# 915015 for importing into "Prospect" business role
5. Define List Type(s) and List Origin(s) in SPRO -> CRM -> MKT -> ELM
6. Create Mapping Format - Web UI (log on as MKT_Prof or Power_User -> MKT -> Create: Mapping Format)
7. Add Mapping Format to BADI: CRM_MKT_LIST - Attributes -> Define Filters -> Select you Mapping Format
8. Create External List (Web UI (log on as MKT_Prof or Power_User -> MKT -> Create: External List)- use the Mapping Format

Performance: How to manage large reports with high data volume

Hi everybody,
we actually make some tests on our BO server system, to define limitations and oppertunities. Among other things we constructed a large report with a high data volume (about 250.000 data records).
When executing the query in SAP Query Designer it takes about 10 minutes to display it. In Crystal Reports we rebult the row and column structure of the query. The data retrieval in Crystal Reports Designer last about 9 minutes - even faster as in the query.
Unfortunately in BO InfoView the report is not displayed. After 30 minutes of loading time we get a timeout error RCIRAS0244.
com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.managedreports.ras.internal.ManagedRASException:
Cannot open report document. ---
The request timed out because there has been no reply from the server for 600.000 milliseconds.
Also a refresh of an report with saved data is not possible.
Now we are asking us some questions:
1. Where can we set the timeout for InfoView to a value larger than 30 minutes?
2. Why is InfoView so slow compared to Crystal Designer? Where is the bottleneck?
3. Whats the impact of SAP single sign-on compared to Enterprise logon on the performance?

I will check the servers and maybe change the time limits.
Unfortunately we have a quite slow server system that probably cause this timeout. In CR Designer we have no problems, its really quick. Is it to expect that CR Designer and InfoView have almost the same performance?
Another nice point: When we execute the query in SAP BEx Query Designer it takes about 10 minutes to open it, in Crystal Designer it needs just about 5-6 minutes. We integrated exactly the same fields in the report, which exist in die SAP BEx query.
What may cause the difference?
- Exceptions and conditions in the query?
- Free characteristics in the query?
- anything else?

Reporting on Master data Infoobject

We have a scenario, where we need to report on top of infoobject because the data is available only on that infoobject.
The infoobject is serial number details has attributes like customer and status etc.. we need to report how many serial numbers are active and non active. We have more data with with serial number, but there is no filtering option like period, profit cenetr etc.
Can you pls provide us nice solution to report this scenorio.

Loading data to Master Data fields

Can't understand how to load data from DataSource to Master Data of InfoCube. I create Transformation but don't see there how to choose Master Data fields of InfoCube - I don't see these fields there.

Hi,
Eg: If you have 0MATERIAL in cube, then all the attributes data will load to 0MATERIAL InfoObject, so in Cube you can find only 0MATERIAL and then in report you can find the Navigational attributes of the 0MATERIAL. So all the master data won't store into Cube.
That is the reason why we are calling Materdata Reusabilty in BW. So all master data will store sperately in Master data InfoObjaetcs.

HR standard reports on Master data

Hi,
Could anyone help me to list all the HR reports on master data. I mean a tool to absorb all the data in the infotypes I used to make an excel file. For example, I list personnel area/company code as selection criteria, then personnel number, name, address, basic pay...information will be listed.
I know one T code PAR1, but not so sure how to use it. Could any one help?

Transction data loading with master data as key?

I am trying to load the transction data with master data as a key.ZEMPID is my masterdata which having attributes ZEMPNAM and ZEMPDES .My transction data contains ZEMPID.ZEMPSAL and ZEMPAGE.I could create the master data and also load it successfully.But when I tried to create the infosource for trasctional data I should get all the attributes whatever I have given it for the ZEMPID.This I am not getting.Also While creating the cube if I select the infosource then in chraracterstic tab I am not getting my characterstics(master data+attribute).Please any one help me.

You are talkin abt transactional data and saying that not created cube/Ods ..
Let me put the things again
1. When you load master data you create infosource ( direct or indirect), All the attribute will be automatically comes in the infosource...when you define application component in master data tab in infoobject maintenance it is ready for data to be loaded. Search for application component in infosource..u will get the flow
2. When you load data in infocube only transactional data goes in it.....master data presents in master data tables...In infosource you define what are the field which need to be present in cube.......so you will be able to include only these objects which are present in cube dimensions + attribute which are defined navigational in the cube....
Master data attribute will never be pushed automatically....only componding object are pushed automatically.....
If you want to load attribute of ZEMPID then make them navigational in cube or add them in one of cubes dimension...
