Asset Scenario for R/3 4.6 and ECC 6

Hi Everyone,
My client was using all Asset Transaction in SAP 4.6 version like Asset purchase, Depn. Calculation, Retirement and other upto 2004. After that they haven't use the asset transaction....
Now they want to use all the asset transaction in SAP ECC6. But, the asset master which they had used in SAP 4.6, has moved to ECC 6 and they would like to add new asset list which had purchased after 2004.
Now i want to know, how to treat the Previous Asset and New Asset list in Ecc 6....
Is there any configuration wise we have to change?
Thanks and Regards,
M.Mohan.
Edited by: Mohan on Feb 1, 2010 2:01 PM

The only change is The depreciation run (numberange from the FI document is internal, the depreciation run post only online)
New transaction with depreciation log
periodical postings post only online.
In config there are some changes.
Only when you are  activate EA-FIN there are functional changes

  • Transaction type to dispose the asset only for the depn areas 01 and 02

One of the Company codes XXXX plant XXXX has an isuue for asset # XXXXXXXXXX-0 this asset was partially retired in Nov.2008 and now its acquisition value is JPY312,428
which should not be an asset under US GAAP but qualify for asset under Tax book . So it needs be removed from US and JCC book(01 and 02 area) but keep the record on the Tax book(area 15).
Is there any transaction type to dispose this asset only for the 01 and 02 area but keep the historical data for 15 area?
    Thanks for helping in advance

Can I suggest you a way to handle this? Just give a try and see whether  it works for you or not.
Post a Credit entry to the Asset only to the area 01 and 02. Please follow the below steps before you do this.
    1. Go to main SAP screen => System => User profile => Own data => Parameters
Add parameter ID FAA_FB01_AREA_SWITCH (Turn On Value Entry at Area Level for FB01) and mark "x" against it in Parameter value. Save this changes.
    2. Go to F-02, Enter the Asset number (posting key 75 and transaction type 105, which ever you feel like) and then in the next screen, enter the amount. Here in this screen, you will find a tab named area values. Click that tab and change the values Area 01 & 02 to $0.01 and leave the Area 15 as it is. Enter the appropriate dr line item and save the document.
3.Go to AW01N and see tha values against each of the areas.
please revert in case you have any questions.

  • Query for SAP NW 7.0 and ECC

    Dear ALL ,
We  have purchased SAP NW 7.0  License .We have installed it with 2 components WAS ABAP and WAS as JAVA.
Now my question is: this SAP NW 7.0 installation does not contain any functional module like SAP HR.MM,FI  etc...
for this requirement do we need to take a separate license of SAP  ECC or do we need to install some contentson this SAP NW 7.0 server  so that we can run  functional code on this server????
    Please suggest....
    Thanks
    sandeep

    Hi Sandeep.
The problem is not only the license, but also the application itself. If you have installed NW, your system don't have the tables and programs needed to execute business modules like FI, SD, MM, etc.
If you need those modules, you have to install an ERP 6.0 from scratch.

  • Scenarios for routines

    Hi,
can any one send scenarios for writing routines in TR and in UR amd xplain of hoe to write the routines.
points will be rewarded for your replies.

    Hi,
    Start Routine
Start routines are executed prior to applying the other transfer rules. They have access
to all the records in the data package (not the extracted data set!). The most practical
use of start routines is to preload tables into memory for efficient nontrivial table
lookups or to apply complex record filters to the data package. However, you must
take care not break the memory limits of the application server, especially having in
mind that multiple data packages executed at the same time will each require the same
    amount of memory.
    InfoObject Transfer Routines
InfoObject transfer routines are transfer routines directly tied to an InfoObject. In whatever set of transfer rules this InfoObject is used, the specified routine will be executed.
InfoObject transfer routines are used to warrant consistent systemwide transformations
for a specific InfoObject. They are maintained in the InfoObject maintenance
    transaction .

    Update Rules
Having applied the transformation rules, SAP BW is now ready to apply applicationspecific
transformations in the update rules that are independent of the source system.
The logic behind the update rules is more complex than the one behind the transfer
rules: Data integration transformations are still supported, but the main focus is on
application logic transformations such as normalization, denormalization, and aggregation.
Analogous to the transfer rules, we present a highly simplified update rules
algorithm at the end of this section. To understand the following discussion you just
need to know that the update rules handle key figures (data fields) and characteristics
(key fields) differently when updating InfoCubes (ODS objects, master data tables):
Every characteristic (key field) update rule is executed for each of the key figures (data
fields) of the InfoCube (ODS object, master data table). Each of the key figure (data
field) update rules generates an in-memory result record with all characteristics (key
fields) values and the key figure (data field) value filled.
    Start Routine
Start routines, in update rules are essentially the same as in transfer rules.

  • NW2004s portal password and ECC 6.0 password synchronisation

    Hi,
We have implemented NW2004s SR2 SPS 12 portal and also configured SSO
between Netweaver portal and ECC 6.0 system using SAP logon tickets.
As per client's requirement, is there any standard mechanism available
for synchronizing Netweaver portal password and ECC 6.0 system
password? (i.e when we change password in EP the same is reflected in
    ECC also).
    Appreciate your inputs.
    Regards,
    Lakshmi.

    Hi Lakshmi,
I am not sure of this, but yes one can use central user administration (CUA), for synchronising userid/pwd from a single system.
The CUA box will hold all the user ID.

  • Business scenarios for daily, weekly and nightly loads!!

Can any body tell some Business scenarios for daily, weekly and nightly loads where we monitor the loads in Production support.
    Regards
    srikanth.ch

    Hi,
It all depends on your business needs. In general on daily basis you will load the SD and MM which will cover all the stock and sales done for day. Generally most of the clients use Lo Cockpit extraction for both the modules. FI chains will run on month end for example the AP(Accounts Payable),AR(Accounts Receivable) chains will be run on the month end.
Some SD datasources : 2lis_13_vdhdr, 2lis_13_vditm, 2lis_13_vdkon - all these to pull billing related data
    Some MM Datasource : 2lis_03_bx and 2lis_03_bf.

  • Scenario for interface between a non sap system and a SAP erp

    Hello,
I need some help in order to elaborate a interface between a SAP ERP and a non-sap system with the help of a XI system.
       -  At first regarding the interface from the non sap system and a SAP ERP :
the non sap system sends a flat file to the XI system. The flat file contains a row with header data and rows with item data. We were thinking when the file arrives to the XI system, to save the data in a header database and in a items database in XI. is it possible ?
And then to have like a job that reads the database and creates idoc and sends them to the SAP erp and updates the xi header and items database  with a flag that means that the records have been sent to the SAP erp.
       -   Regarding the interface SAP erp to non SAP system:
the SAP erp sends idoc to XI. Then the idocs are transformed into flat file.
    Is this scenario possible ?
Do we need any adaptator between the non sap system and the XI ?
    Thank you for your help
    Christophe

    Hi Bontron,
Idoc doesnot support synchronous call. So you can use either proxy or function module and inturn call the idoc from them and send response back to xi. You need to have two scenarios for your design.
Scenario1:   Source File (file adapter) -- xi -- Dump into database tables (Jdbc Adapter)
Scenrio2:  Pickup form Database tables  (Jdbc Adapter) -- xi -- RFC Adapter  ---> This is synchronous call.
Regarding the interface SAP erp to non SAP system
You can send idoc to xi and from there use File adapter to send to the receiving system.
These blogs may help you to some extent:
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/06/01/file-to-jdbc-adapter-using-sap-xi-30
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/step%2bby%2bstep%2bRFC%2bto%2bJDBC%2bscenario   (your scenario will be opposite to this)
