Asset Selector initialization failed error when trying to create new site

I'm trying to create a new site in using the Site Administration functionality in ATG 10, and I get the UI error 'Asset Selector initialization failed, after selecting to Create a new site. In the log, I have the following error:

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Are you running both SiteAdmin and SiteAdmin.Versioned on your publishing server?
Also have you done any customization in SiteRepository?
Try getting merged XML for /atg/multisite/SiteRepository through Dyn Admin Component browser and make sure it comes up nicely for both production and publishing servers

Based on the error message, please check whether you have installed the spPowerPivot.msi add-in on each of your SharePoint server, and ran the configuration wizard, make sure that the powerpivotwebapplicationsolution.wsp
is deployed correctly.

Portal runtime error when trying to create new Iviews in EP

Require an Urgent help
getting portal runtime error when trying to create a new iView in portal. I am unable to create a single iView in portal.
It was working before please see this error message

logs can be read from nwa, if you hv the relevant access or get portal admin to pass the defaulttrace file to you. Login to nwa, navigate to Monitoring-Logs and traces and select (either default trace or last 24hrs) to view the logs. hope this helps

Or am I mixing things up here.
Well the problem isn't a problem it is SAP standard behaviour you simply can't configure customer tasks (type T in PFTC)
You can only configure Standard Tasks (TS) or workflow templates (WS)

Just had a look at the SAP help and indeed types T aren't allowed anymore SAP gives the solution to copy the customer task, this will automatically change it to a standard task

Excel as a data source - Error when trying to create new univerise

Hello,
Running BO 4 Server (On Server Machine) and Client tools 4 (on my local laptop) . I have tried the following..
Succesfully
1. With the information tool Created a project
2. Created a connection to a excel file on a network drive as a source
2. Published connection, created short cuts
3. Created data foundation
4. Creeated Business layers
5. Linked all tables inserted summary etc (data can be viewed in the viewer)
I publish everything above to the repository and everthing works perfectly.
I have created the ODBC links to the excel file both on my local laptop and server using the 32 bit admin tool (ODBC) in windows.
Current Issue
When i log into the BI Launch pad and open web intellgence, i try to create new and use the univerise i have published. I receieve the following error.

Go to : Control Panel - > Add / Remove Programs (or "Programs and Features" on win7)
looks for : SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.0 Client Tool   <- that's the base install
now look for an entry called   SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.0 Client Tools SP2 Patch2.8
these are not automatic updates, it would require an installer be launched on your PC.

Error when trying to create new single user

When I fill out the "basic", "groups", and "home" sections of single user in Workgroup Manager and then go to click "save" and error pops up ... actually 4 errors. They say:

It then saves the user as "Untitled1". And I have to quit WM and restart it before I can delete "Untitled 1". I have created many successful log-ins. This only happens to two (2) of the log-ins I have tried to create. I know I made some mistake (can't remember exactly what ... think I typed the user name wrong or something) on one of them, but the other was long ago and I don't remember if I did something and then it didn't work, or if it didn't work the first time I tried.
Any other info that would help I would be glad to offer, just let me know what info to gather. Thanks for your help in advance.

Error when trying to create new BP in MSA 5.0 SP08

We have currently an issue in MSA 5.0 SP08 when we are trying to create a new BP. We receive the message "Relationship (Employee) - Error handler in function EvalsfakvbeztpfromReltyp reached". Looking into the code we find this error handler in the BOINTBPEMP :
The error is triggered when the standard method CreateBusineesObject is invoked. Sfamitabt contains a guid but it's a string and as you can see, the method should wait an object. Not sure if it is the source of our problem:

Some more investigation we did : the object Err.Number equal 0 (no internal error) and i was not able to put a break point into the class constructor for BOEMPLOYEE because it is a protected event (CreateBusinessObject("BOEMPLOYEE" should be link to the class contructor of BOEMPLOYEE when a new object is created)
However, I can confirm that SFAMITABT contains a valid guid (i checked smomitabt) and i also tried during the debug session to change interactively the guid with an other valid one, but i still have this problem.
I started the sql profiler but i saw nothing relevant in there.
I modified the sensitivity for the debug in order to see if i will have more informations but without success and the MSIL (intermediate languaged) did not help me more.

"Package operation failed" error when trying to create ICAP file

Why is this happening? I create a new assignment and then select "Package for Incopy" and I get the error message "Package operation failed". What am I doing wrong? For draft 1 of my Mac Indesign CS5 file I created a new "assignment 1" and ICAP file and emailed to my PC Incopy CS4 client. They sent IDAP file back and all was well. I need to send draft 2 to client the same way but why am I unable to create a new ICAP file? I can't even replace the ICAP file from draft 1. Please help. Thank you! Lynn

Add the "Administrators" group under:
Control Panel
-> All Control Panel Items
   -> Administrative Tools
      -> Local Security Policy
         -> Local Policies
            -> User Rights Assignment
              -> Take ownership of files or other objects
You check you command and modify.

Someone sorted out this issue by installing API 1.2 and copying the dll files to the service manager server ,service folder and replacing it with API 2.0 dll files.

I get this error when trying to create a ringtone - iTunes could not connec

I get this error when trying to create a ringtone:
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store - an unknown error occurred (11556)"
But I CAN connect - if I click on the iTunes Store, it connects right away.
I want to make a ringtone from a song that I purchased, but all I get is the same error message.
iTunes 9.2.2, Ireland iTunes Store.

Solution to stop error when trying to create a portfolio

Hi all,
I finally found a way to make a portfolio in acrobat pro 9. The problems I was having were explained in the thread titled "Acrobat pro 9 has a stop error when trying to create a portfoloi"
It seems ther is another way to do this, by selecting 'combine' and then 'merge files into a single pdf' rather than 'assemble pdf portfolio'.
The merge option also gives the choice of making a pdf package and does not result in a stop error with authplay.dll.
So much for Adobe support who conuld not tell me this or respond to support requests.
All I have to do now is to remember to not click on 'assemble pdf portfolio' when I want to assemble a pdf portfolio but "merge files into a single pdf" when I want to assemble a pdf portfolio.
I would still like to hear from Adobe why acrobat pro 9 has a stop error with authplay.dll.
I feel a lot happier now.

I read through the pdf wth your emails to/from customer support. I'll have to defer to someone else because it seems you have tried what I would suggest.
If someone else does not respond with a better plan and you are willing to spend a bit more time before writing off Acrobat 9, I would try the process below one last time. (If you are using a CS suite, while authplay.dll is found in each of the directories, it does not appear that the issue extends to the other programs.)
1. Using Add/Remove Programs, uninstall all Adobe Acrobat and Reader software and uninstall the Adobe Flash Player Active X and Adobe Flash Player Plugin. If you have it, uninstall Adobe Air.
2. In C:\Documents and Settings\(your profile name)\Application Data\Adobe, delete the Acrobat and Adobe PDF folders if they still exist.
3. Reinstall only Acrobat 9.
4. From Acrobat, run the updater Help > Check for Updates and install all updates.
5. Verify Adobe Acrobat is now version 9.2: Help > About Adobe Acrobat Pro (If for any reason it is not 9.2, use the update on http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
6. Test

While searching for a solution, I just saw your post over at acrobatusers.com (http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/aucbb/viewtopic.php?id=15765). Looks like my advice was largely a duplicate, although your event log indicates Acrobat did not update properly.

500 internal server error when trying to create users

I am getting a 500 internal server error when trying to create users. What is the cause? We tried reinstalling the latest java jdk release and that didn't help.

Check whether your DBControl or ASControl service is still running or crashed. EM is not able to connect to the Management Server.
For instance in Windows, you may see that the Servise is not started. Then check for error logs in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/logs for any related error messages in the log files
