Assign Multiple equipments to WBS element

Hi all,
Can anybody tell me how to assign mutilple equipment to single WBS elements. As far as i know we can assign only one equipment to WBS element.
My requirements is to assign more than one equipment to particular WBS elements. How should i do?

Hi to the best of my knowledge you can not assign more than one equipment to a WBS in standard SAP
It would all depend on how you structure your project in the past I have seen
Project with first level WBS and then folliowing on from there you can have multiple WBS elements below this one for each equipment. This would then allow for reporting etc at both levels of the WBS.
If you can supply a little more information I will try and help further.

    Hi Tanya,
    I think, you want to ensure that you need to allow only specific GL codes to be posted to WBS. If yes, then this can be achieved by using validation functionaliy (t code OPSI). In validation you can specify a set of cost elements, which are allowed for postings to WBS.
    Normally all GL codes, which have been created as cost element in controlling can be posted to WBS.

    Thanks for your information. I have created customer Project with one network and multiple WBS.
    But another issue related to project RBB & DIP profile. I have a scenario it like quantity should be updated from DIP profile in quotation and billing price should take from sales condition record.
    After booking activity base cost directly from KB21N and it is showing in line item. Still when I am trying to run transaction with DP82 to update sales base price system is giving me a message "No expenditure item found" although in WBS level showing all the cost/quantity.
    Can any one tell why I am getting message and how to correct it?

    Work Center is an Organisational unit that specifies where and by whom an operation is to be executed
    In SAP PS work centers used for workforce / resource / capacity planning /scheduling a work . That all is possible in activities and process.
    So we  need activity to assing work center not the WBS.

    Hi Raj,
    Documents can be created/checkin  from WBS/activity without going to CV01N. For this, you need to have the DMS configured.
    Another way, Create document using transaction CV01N and attach manually in WBS/activity from Project Builder.

  • Problem in loading multiple lev1 and multiple lev2 WBS elements in projects

    Hi guys,
    I've a requirement to load (from file) projects with multiple level 1 and multiple level 2 WBS elements. I'm using CJ01 recording to load projects in step 1 and it loads all the projects successfully.
    Next I need to load WBS elements of level 1 & level 2 under each projects and also level 1 & level 2 must be linked correctly. Now in this step what I'm doing is that am doing the CJ02 recording to load WBS elements (irrespective of levels) under each projects. But as in the data file, the sequence of WBS records are not guarranteed to be in the exact sequence of hierarchy of WBS elements, what's happening is that though WBS elements are getting loaded successfully, but level 1 & 2 are not getting linked to each other correctly. So the hierarchy is broken. Please help how to resolve this issue like how to design the LSMW correctly.
    Alternatively we can use CJ20N for loading the correct hierarchy but here we need to select correct project/level 1/leve2 etc which is difficult in case if a project doesn't have level 2 or level 1.
    Please suggest the easiest design.

    You have to use levels in recording.
    I think using CJ01 only you can upload all the projects with hierarchy.
    Just arrange the file records accordingly;

    Level 2----
    WBSE 1.1
    Level 2----
    WBSE 1.2
    Level 2----
    WBSE 1.3
    Level 1----
    WBSE 2
    Level 2----
    WBSE 2.1
    Level 2----
    WBSE 2.2

    WBSE 2.3
    Now, hierarchy will be correct.

    i would just like to ask if its possible for a standard network to be assigned to several WBS elements? this is because i have a Standard WBS structure with elements having similar activities, i wonder if i could just create a single network then assign them to SEVERAL WBS elements and not just one.

    To assign the standard network Activities to multiple standard WBS elements please follow the procedure below:
    1. Go to Tcode :CN02 (If the network is already created with CN01 or else create with Tcode CN01)
    2. Select the Network in question.
    3. hit F5, this will take you to the standard network Header.
    Assign the WBS Element where this network header should be asisgned.
    4. Hit Shift+F1, this will take you to the screen where internal, external activities can be entered. Please select the relevent tab. And enter all the activities.
    5. By default all the activities are assigned to the WBS element mentioned in the Network header, this can  be seen by scrolling little right in the same screen under the column standard WBS Element.
    6. Pick the column Standard WBS element and drop it next to Operation short text.
    7. Now identify the activities to which the different WBS elements need to be assigned. Either select them from the list or you may refer to Tcode. CJ93.

  • Issue on distribution of quantity to WBS elements in invoice

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    I have an issue with the distribution of quantity to WBS elemements in SAP.
    There is a purchase order with 6 line items. For the first line item a quantity of 3 is ordered and the same quantity of 3 is assigned to 7 WBS elements in the account assignment tab. There were 3 invoices created for this line item. For a particular WBS element a quantity of 1.050 was assigned and when we drilled down through the 3 invoices we found only a quantity of 1.028 is assigned to this Particular WBS element. Can someone please tell me as to why this mismatch has happened.

    I am sorry but this is not the case . There are 7 WBS elements used for this PO. The quantity is distributed to 7 wbs elements as follows.

    3rd WBS element                  18.2                            0.546
    4th WBS element                  8.8                             0.264
    5th WBS element                   6.4                             0.192
    6th WBS element                   5.5                             0.165
    7th WBS element                   35                              1.050
    This is the assigned structure in the PO for all the 7 WBS elements. But when you look into the 3 invoices a quantity of 1.028 has been distributed to 7th WBS element and a quantity of 0.214 has been assigned to 5th WBS element which is causing the mismatch
    Also in the 2nd and 3rd invoices only 6 wbs elements are used. Can you please tell me as to why there is a WBS element missing in the 2nd and 3rd invoices if the splitting is happening automatically.

  • Cost assignment-Multiple cost objects being selected by default from the EP

    Hi,
    I have created an expense report from the Portal and entered the cost object - a WBS element and saved the report. Now, when I check in table: PTRV_SCOS, it shows me the cost object assigned are - both - the WBS Element as well as the Cost center. This is incorrect as there should be only one cost object - either the cost center or the WBS element. However, when I book the expenses from the backend, it works fine. Only the WBS or cost center is displayed in the table mentioned above. Anyone has any idea as to why this is happening?

    First of all, thanks for your responses..
    Right, about the issue, what I explained here was that I am indeed assigning only one cost object: the WBS element. The issue was that even though I am assigning only the WBS element, it was also assigning the cost to the cost center by default. I did some R&D and found the solution to the issue (I was also asked to look for OSS notes but was not satisfied that this issue needs an OSS note to be applied so tried my solution). The issue was in table: T788M (allocate costs to variable account assignment). Here, I created an entry and called it USERGROUP_2 (just a random name) and assigned the variable cost objects (only the WBS and the Cost center) to be displayed. In the next step, I assigned this usergroup to the country in quesion feature (TRVCO). By doing this, I tell the system that only these cost objects are to be considered when an employee wants to assign the cost object. If the system sees that there is no value from the drop down to choose from, it picks up the default cost object (cost center). This was a simple issue that I had to rattle my brains on... but the solution I mention above worked like a hot knife going through butter...

  • Problem while assigning service activity to WBS

    when i assign service activity to WBS element without filling any fields (like Purchase groupand Material group) it is going straight to Service Specifications.
    if we fill the service specifications and save the project we can save the project with out any errors
    i require entry of PurchaseGroup and Material Group is mandatory
    and then system should go to Service specifications
    Please advice

    Hi,
    Just check in Network profile, on Activity tab (TC: OPUU). You must have maintained required details like Material group, Purchasing group etc in Service activity section. Whenever you create a service activity these values get defaulted in activty. Let me know if it solves your problem.

  • We want to post actual cost through statistical WBS elements.

    when we do the posting on Costcenter assigned to a Statistical WBS element (2nd level), I was in the opinion that, the actual cost posted on the Costcenter of statistical WBS (2nd level) will reflect to the top WBS element (which is non-statistical in 1st level).
    But, I cannot able to see the actual cost in the 1st level WBS which also a Billing element (with this, finally we want to  do the Resource Related Billing).
    So expalin me how to bring actual cost posted on the costcenter of a Statistical WBS, to top WBS element which is non-statistical.

    U can book the actual cost from Procurement Cycle or by direct Invoice posting using FI transaction.
    Procurement Cycle:
    When you create PR or PO user Account Assignment Q or P and maintain WBS element. When u do GR or service entry actual cost is captured on the Project (WBS element).
    Using FI Transaction:
    When there is no PO and to book the cost u can use  F-43  to post actual cost (via Invoice) and mention WBS element.
    U can check the Actual Cost using Line item report CJI3 or S_ALR_87013532.
