Assigning controllers on "selected track"

I want to automate the track equalitzers via a midi controller.
I move every parameter and command+L to learn assignments (in advanced view, just once command+L and then sequentially and alternating, the virtual eq parameter and then the midi slider). That works perfectly.
The captured parameters are assigned automatically to "Selected track" (what I want) but that assignment just work on that track (in this case, track 1), even if it is or not the selected one. ????? some help?
I've seen similar behavior assigning for example, the volume parameter, but I could solve it changing "selected track" by "index", I don't understand why it worked. That solution does not work for the EQs.

I change the subject to see if I can have some answer.

  • Problem: it bounces only the selected track

I'm having this problem when bouncing a project: it bounces only the selected track on the arange window, so I can't select the output 1-2 to get the bounce of the whole project because it does not appear in the arrange window, only in the environment or the mixer
So, first of all: anyone does know why is this happening? Is just an issue or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
And, if it's an issue, how could I create a track in the arrange window assigned to the output 1-2, so I can select it to bounce the whole project?
    Thanks in advance

You're mixing up something here. Outputs 1-2 don't have to appear in the Arrange window if you want to perform a bounce of your project and it doesn't matter which track is selected in your Arrange as long as you don't have Solo mode activated (either in the mixer or in the transport window).
Make sure solo mode is off - press the little bounce button at the bottom of Outputs 1-2 (or assign a Keycommand to the bouncing function) - set the locators for start and end point - select the file format and off you go.
If you want Outs 1-2 in your Arrange just right click on the Outs in your mixer - menue opens - select "create Arrange track".

  • When I try to map faders to the volume in audio tracks it only lets me map the "selected track"

LogicX user. I'm trying to map my mpd32's faders up with four audio tracks to control their volume. For the first three tracks, I can map the faders accordingly, and in the Controller Assignments window, in the "channel strip" section on the right, they all say "fader bank (1-3)", which is correct. When I get to the fourth audio track, and I go through the same steps as I have to map the first three audio tracks, the channel strip section says "selected track: 1" instead of what I thought it would say: "fader bank 4". When I try and manually change that to "fader bank 4", I move the control that I want it to be mapped to, it and the text automatically switches back to saying "selected track 1". I made sure that none of the tracks that I was trying to map were selected before I did this. I'm not new to logic by any means but I seriously need to be able to control these all at the same time for a performance I'm trying to do soon. It is driving me ******* crazy.

  • Why does my track volume on selected track suddenly spike?

Why does my track volume, on the SELECTED TRACK, suddenly spike to max as if I had volume automation set. It never did this before a few weeks ago. Very frustrating. It happens during playback and loop recording. It started around the same time I started using a new audio interface (steinberg UR22) but I don't think that is causing the issue because I wen't back and used my MBOX to be sure, and it did the same thing. I have never had any use for automation or a master volume track either. It doesn't matter if I have a guitar, bass or mic going direct or through a preamp. It seems to be internal to GB settings. The only change I've made to my macbook recently was I increased my RAM from 2 to 4gb.
It's like Garageband has a mind of it's own and it feels as though there isn't enough signal reach the track to it boosts it itself. What am I missing?
Please help I can't get anything done because it spike in the middle of a take and I have to start over.
    I'm using GB 11 version 6.0.5

  • Cannot select tracks on ipod classics through Itunes.

    Hi
Once I connect my new IPOD to my mac, the IPOD itself shows up and the list of music on the IPOD shows up in ITunes, but I edit/select tracks at all. Its as if they are locked. Any idea how to overcome this?

If the songs are "greyed out" it's because you have the iPod set to transfer songs automatically. That is also why the padlock icon appears at the bottom of iTunes next to the space used/available.
If you want the songs to be bold and selectable/editable, then you need to change to manage the content manually.
Please note that by editing/changing the songs on your iPod in this manner, the changes will not affect the songs in iTunes, only on your iPod.

  • How to view ALL selected tracks in iTunes

Simple question, I hope, but I've got more tracks on my iTunes than I can fit into my iPhone and I would like to be able to see how much memory my selected tracks take up, in total, not just by artist, before I try to sync.
Is there anyway of viewing all selected tracks in iTunes?

Create a new playlist using the command File > New Playlist. Drag the selected tracks into it. Open the playlist and look at the bottom to see the number of tracks, total size, and playing time.

  • Selecting Tracks via a Television

I know there have been a lot of posts about connecting an ipod to a television to enable you to view artwork and select tracks etc but does anyone know if this is actually possible at the moment or whether a firmware upgrade covering this problem is in the offing?

No, it's not possible. The iPod is connected to the TV with an S-Video cable - this cable send video in one direction (from iPod to the TV) and cannot be used to send navigation signals from the TV to the iPod).

  • How to " display selected track 's automation" ????

    Hello
In former versions of logic ( prior to lp8) , there was an option "display selected track's automation " now there is only " display automation " wich means every time i click on this , it will zoom all my tracks automatically wich can be pretty confusing . Id like to be able to see automation only for the selected track in the arrangement .
Is this option still available ??
If yes where did it go ??
    Thanx in advance.

If you use auto track zoom and make your arrangement tracks small enough heigtwise, any track chosen will therefore display its automation.

  • How to Export OMF or AAF of selected tracks in PPro CC2014

From a larger sequence with (e.g.) 20 audiotracks, how can I create OMFs (or AAFs) from just a few selected tracks (e.g. in order to keep size of embedded OMFs below 2Gb)

  • Selected Track Getting More Processing Power?

    Hello,
If I understand correctly, Logic 9 allocates more resources to a selected track than other tracks (if you have more than one). Could anyone elaborate on how this is implemented? Can I choose to turn off this feature and give the same processing power to all tracks/plugins?
The reason I ask this is because my Korg M3 plug-in is not playing nice with Logic when the VI track with that particular plugin is not selected. If i select another track, the playback becomes out of sync with the rest of the project. However, if I select that track, everything is played back in time.

It's never been a problem for me before either. It's just with this one plug-in. Like the delay compensation isn't working on it,
that perhaps it's an issue with logic and this particular implementation of 'virtualized' hardware.
Ok, well it's true that Logic functions differently than most (if not all) other DAWS regarding it's handling of buffers. Most DAWs keep a Plugin or VI partially active when the sequencer is stopped. Logic does not, this is how Logic gets it's high efficiency rating, you can load up a project template with all of the plugins & VIs you would need to start a large project and there will be virtually no CPU resources used, as long as you have enough memory you're good to go.
When you keep a plugin track selected... it is active or partially active, this allows the plug-in to initialize and clear it's buffers.
It sounds like the Korg plugin is built on an older AU spec, since Logic does not keep plugins active it's now up to the plugin to initialize and clear it's own buffers when the sequencer is stopped, this means that they have to remain active for a time after Logic is stopped.
A couple of developers I beta tested for cried foul because they learned about this after the plugins had been developed and tested as the original AU spec did not contain this information.
Anyway, it sounds like it will be up to Korg to update the plugin to be compatible with Logic. The scenario you've described sounds like the Korg's buffers have not emptied or the plugin doesn't initialize unless the track is selected.

  • Selective Track Import: "Replace" mode deosn't work here with AUXes tracks

I wonder why, using Selective Track Import, if I select an instrument track in arrange, and I select the instrument of the source song I want to import from, I get the chance to use "Replace" mode. On the contrary, with AUXes this option doesn't work: "Replace" mode is always disabled..... only "Add" mode.... (even putting aux track in arrange and selecting it...)

Hey RevDave, it's David, not sure if you remember me?
We went to your studio once with Curt Bisquera....
Of course I do - Glad to hear from you again!
    Anyway:
The MIDI preferences do work correctly, however they
should have no impact on the Audio behavior. The fact
that 'Merge new recordings...' messes with the
    replace mode is a bug.
Another funny fact: the recording settings are
    divided into two categories:
General and MIDI. That's misleading: they all only
deal with MIDI recording behavior. Audio recording
doesn't have such settings as 'Auto create tracks' or
'Auto mute tracks' since it always behaves like that
    anyway.
Thanks for explaining that - and glad to hear that it's a bug.

  • "Delete Selected Track Files" Applescript script fails for iTunes 7

The Delete Selected Track Files script, which is found on the Apple site http://www.apple.com/applescript/itunes/, fails with a error message of "iTunes got an error: file track id 42130 of user playlist id 30791 of source id 40 doesn't understand the delete message." The message is the same regardless of which song(s) I try to delete. Does anyone know how to update the script or know of a workaround?

Found my mistake. I was testing the script by playing a track from a shared iTunes library across my local net. As soon as I played a track residing on the local machine itself the script worked in iTunes 8.0 as it worked before on iTunes 7.x
Apparently I'll need to code for the case of a shared track in order to correctly resolve the alias to the file track on the remote machine.
    Thanks Niel!

  • Mulitple controllers and multiple tracks at the same time

I have multiple keyboard controllers and rack modules. I would like to have each of them individually control their own midi tracks(connected to external rack modules) at the same time, so I can record live performances. Right now I create a track set the port and channel and I can play the desired external module one track at a time, but the second I try to use more than one controller they all play the same module.
I come from Pro Tools.... and in that program for each channel I am able to select an input port/channel and an output port/channel and it works fine, but in logic I can't seem to select an Input port/channel for the individual tracks, they all seem to be the same. Where or how would I do this so I can streamline my setup?
