Assigning iViews to the Page through Program

Hi,
I have a page, which is already contains few iViews and set the layout. These all iViews are visible.
Now I have assigned one more iView and aligned but it is invisible.
Now I would like to change the property of this iView to make it visible and at the same time i have to make invisible for another iView.
This I need to implement through program. Please let me know how to achive this .

This page will be visible for all users and all users having this role.
The present requirement is that the content manager should able to decide which iView has to be displayed for the user.

How to reach a component which is in jsf page whithin another jsf page
programmaticaly so that i can modify its properties (mainly hide or show a commandbutton menu item ...) before displaying this page (page containing the component to modify) through the " return outcomename " statement.

Please try this: In Firefox '''History''' ('''Alt''' + '''S''') and check if it is listed in either '''Recently Closed Tabs''' or '''Recently Closed Windows''' or in the list below. If you cannot find it click '''Show All History''', on the left of the window click '''Today''' below '''History''' and on the right look for the site entry corresponding closely to the time when you lost it. If you cannot see the column heading named '''Visit Date''', you may have to enable it by right-clicking on the column header strip.
Also please note that the online course site may have redirected you to another site for the test, so it is also a good idea to look into site entries that may match the time.

You can create a display rule for a portal desktop depending upon the group. Through code you can add the required users to this group.

Essbase filter assignment while importing the security through LCM

Hi Experts,
My source server is Essbase standalone 11.1.2.1 and my destination is Essbase 11.1.2.4, obviously shared services security.
I just created some test users/ groups/ filters in 11.1.2.4 and did export through LCM and got the actual format of users/ groups/ roles CSV files. Then I just did edit all these CSV files with my source 11.1.2.1 users/ groups details with the respective roles and tried importing it in the same 11.1.2.4 server.
I was successfully able to create all the users groups and its roles assignment. But I got stuck up with the filter assignment for the groups... I mean my groups are assigned with the role 'Filter' at the 11.1.2.4 environment but I dont know how to get the actual filter assigned to these groups.
I know in Applications group we can assign filters manually using Assign access control but how to do it with the LCM import itself? is there any options/ tricks available or do we need to do it only by manually?

Not tried the maxl create group but it is deprecated in 11.1.2.4
Anyway there is nothing wrong with groups in EAS 11.1.2.4

Lock the Tcode through program

I has write a program for lock the tcode for that I am using FM:-RSAU_WRITE_SM01_LOG,When I pass Input for FM like below
Tcode and lock ,
It will run correct but the database updation is not takes place..
Can any one guide to resolve the Issue..

Hi,
If your ultimate motive is to update database,then why you are trying to lock a Tcode? You should lock the database table instead,then do your update work and then release the lock. That's it. I think it would be better if you create lock object from SE11 of your particular database table. Call ENQUEUE function module. Update DB table. Then call DEQUEUE function module and you are done.

Regarding the placing of iviews in a Page

Hi All
I have an issue. The issue is that i have two iviews which are document iviews and they contain jpg images in them. Now i am placing these iviews in a page .But i am getting space between these iviews when i veiw the page through a portal .Can anybody please tell me how to remove this white space as it looks very odd in my portal. itried in all ways by editing the size of the images - either it gives me a scroll bar around the image or the image comes too small .

Opening another iview from an iview in the same page ....

I need to open another iview from an existing one in the same page without overwriting the other existing iviews on the page. I am using EPCM.doNavigate() as given below
EPCM.doNavigate('ROLES://portal_content/com.hersheys.Hershey_Content/com.hersheys.Human_Resources/com.hersheys.hr.sap_mss_iviews/EmployeeExit?SCENARIO_PARAMS=PERNR='+person,0);
The iview does open in the same page, however i lose the other iviews on the top and bottom of the page ....

Hi Devina,
Try using IUrlGeneratorService to generate the URL to the required iView, instead of EPCM.doNavigate().
doNavigate sometimes refreshes the whole page while loading the required iView.

To include a link to an iview in a page.

Hi,
I want to include a link to several iviews in the same page (subscriptions, my tasks ...).
If I include the content of the iview in the page, it is difficult to see so much information.
I think it could be a good idea to include links to the different iviews instead of the content, so it could have a better aspect and it would be easy to see the information. I don't know how to do it, even I don't know if it's possible to do it without developing.

How do I change the page address?

I am trying to figure out how to change the address of specific pages in an ADF application. Specifically, adding a directory that the page is located in.
For example, if the page is currently located at "http://localhost:8000/context-root/faces/page.jspx";
I would like to instead have it be located at "http://localhost:8000/context-root/faces/directory/page.jspx";
I would also like to have the same behavior exist for task flows as well. (Eg: from "http://localhost:8000/context-root/faces/task-flow/page.jspx"; to "http://localhost:8000/context-root/faces/directory/task-flow/page.jspx";
I am unsure of how to go about doing this. If i move the page itself to a directory, the request URL still follows the first pattern and not the desired pattern. I had thought there might be somethign in web.xml that might allow me to perform this mapping, but I have thus far been unable to find anything that looks like it would work. Is there any way to acheive the desired pattern (or something similar)?
I am using JDeveloper version 11.1.1.6.0

Customize No-roles assigned iview

Hi all,
I have created a custom iview to replace "no-roles assigned iview" in the portal (which is displayed if a user without any roles logs in.
I have added this to the "standard user role (eu_role)" and intern added this role to the "everyone" group. This shows the iview for the new user, but also is there for all the old users.
How do we differntiate between the new users (who dont have any roles) and already existing users?? (is there any available group)??

Put some logic in the iView so that if the user has any other roles the message is not displayed...

A gap between iViews in a page

Hello all,
Usually the topLevelNavigation is in the framWorkPage as an iView.
We created a new page (wide:narrow)
in the wide column inserted the topLevelNavigation iView, in the narrow column: our company logo.
The problem: there is a gap around both iViews in the page.
<b>How can we get rid of this gap?</b>

By the way:
in the iViews and the page: the property 'Add padding inside tray' is checked as NO.
In the theme --> Portal body --> we changed all the paddings and margins to 0 px. we think it didn't help cause this page is not a part of the portal inner page and therefore not part of the body (?)

Hi Adi,
the reason you see the gap is the PageLayout you use. The standard PageLayout "wide:narrow" defines a gap between the two columsn. I think 2px.
To solve the problem download the par file, which contains the standard "wide:narrow" layout and make a copy. Use your own namespace for the copy of the par file.
Edit the layout and upload the edited copy.
In PCD you have to create the new layout in the portal layout folder (cannot remember the path). In the portal layout folder you will find all the standard layouts. Once you have created the new layout in the layout folder open the page object (in PCD), that contains the TopLevelNavigation iView and choose the new layout as the default layout.
