At PC boot NiPal Service Mgr fails and exits
When the PC boots the operating system complains that NiPal Service Mgr needs to shut down.
This occured after I had run a LwCVI program that locked up the computer so I cycled the power to get it back.
I corrected this once by reinstalling LwCVI.
Is this a problem that NiPal Sevice Mgr is not running?
Is there a simple fix short of reinstalling LwCVI?

Boot camp services setup failed - Boot camp 3.3 update
Running Windows 7 Ultimate on a 2008 iMac with boot camp 3.2. When running apple update to install boot camp 3.3, after a reboot I get the following message from the installer: Boot Camp Services Setup Failed.
Sorry, After I posted I found the answer. I also had a logmein display driver and once uninstalled boot camp 3.3 installed just fine.The BC Service is installed for any individual login (whether local or domain-based), which happens only the first time. The BC Driver Installer has no option to install the services for 'All Users'. This is expected behavior.

I have Win7 64 bit running iTunes 10.5. When I import a CD and click on the "Get Info" context menu item for the CD drive item on the left side of the window, the expected context menu and input boxes appear. When I type anything into any of the available input boxes, iTunes immediately throws a fail exit to Windows. Here are relevant screen shots:

Key in "A" in Artist input box, get immediate failure:
So far Microsoft hasn't notified me of any solutions to this failure.
This info needs to get to Apple, but I am not paying to give them information to fix their problems!

PS: As a work around, I can highlight the entire CD worth of tracks and edit the common information in the Get Info function at that level... Still, iTunes should not be throwing program failure exceptions in any case. It is especially annoying on such common functions. One might have expected a more thorough testing program prior to general release.
DVHThanks for your response. I attempted to do that, but I couldn't find any way to access the configuration for the Zhone router. Typing the IP address into my web browser's address bar only resulted in "page could not be found" or "page timed out", etc. I called tech support at Northstate, who likewise suggested that the Zhone router should be set to bridge mode and the AEBS set to router mode since it would be easier for me to configure the AirPort. After wrangling a bit with them over my inability to change any settings for the Zhone, they sent a technician over. He messed around with the Zhone, apparently putting it in bridge mode, and we managed to get the AirPort to work without any double NAT errors. I reset the AirPort and created a new configuration file. Unfortunately, when I went to the Advanced/Port Mapping menu and repeated the original steps to forward port 7777, tests at www.whatsmyip.org still returned "timed out". The technician said he wasn't knowledgable enough about Apple products to assist me any further and suggested I call their tech support or visit the nearest Genius Bar. So that's about it. Any other ideas?

I get a dialog box from Xmarks that "Firefox service initalization failed". Please advise.
The Xmarks icon shows a question mark and a shows "Xmarks has encountered an error''. On clicking the icon the Xmarks settings dialog box shows the current status as PROBLEMS SYNCING "Firefox service initialization failed" and that "Firefox reports that some services are unavailable".
Please advise action to take.Yoono. I uninstalled Yoono and the problem went away. However, it does seem like a nice application since it brings all your social networks together in a column on the left side of the screen that are active while you can be doing something else like searching the web or reading your e-mail. When I'm in e-mail however, I want a fuller screen and when I try to collapse the Yoono column, I get that warning message and it won't allow me to.

I have a new issue with all DPs.
When I pxe boot, it will boot into WinPE but then it will fail and reboot after the step: “Preparing network connections”
I have tried reinstalling the DP and MP. Also redistributing the boot image.
When I press F8 to go into debug mode, ipconfig show me an IP address and I am able to ping my Management point, my DHCP server and also my Distribution point.
I have attached the smsts.log file.

This has nothing to do with your MP or DP though so reinstalling them won't make any difference.
This error is indicative of network issues -- basically, the "client" is not getting a response back in a timely manner (and probably not at all). Assuming the MP is healthy though, then only other piece of the puzzle is the network.
You can try setting the SMSTSAssignmentsDownloadRetry and SMSTSAssignmentsDownloadInterval task sequence variables in the boot image to increase the client's tolerance for latency or other weirdness in the network. This has worked for many.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to break out a sniffer and watch the traffic to see what's going on at a network level.

[SOLVED][systemd 210] systemd-backlight@.service gets loaded and fails

I just updated to 210 and rebooted as soon as possible as advised. The first thing I noticed is the red [Failed] message during startup. After looking at systemctl I noticed that systemd-backlight@backlight:eeepc-wmi.service fails. There are 3 things wrong with this 1) I don't have a backlight this is on a desktop 2) It's not an eeePC 3) I never had any failed services before the update. I tried to disable this service, but the service still tries to start and fails on every boot. I read about systemd-backlight here: http://www.freedesktop.org/software/sys … rvice.html but it doesn't really help much to explain why it tries to load this service in the firstplace. I have not tried masking it, but this would not fix the underlying problem anyway.
The systemctl status doesn't provide any usful information.

Service Partition - Rescue and Recovery installation fails (not enough free space)
Im am aware about former posts to this subject on this forum, but they didn't answer all my questions, so I reopened the subject.
I tried to install "Rescue and Recovery" on T60 with win XP Pro and got the following message:
'There is not enough free space in the boot sector to install the Rescue and Recovery boot manager'
I followed the solution in "Rescue and Recovery installation fails") from 08-09-2008 03:03 AM
and created a hidden partition with Parted Magic but the rescue and recovery still fails with the same message.
Somewhere in the forum I read that the original service partition has a special format and not ntfs.
Could somebody tell me is it true or not ?
How can I rebuild this service partition ?
Do I need special setting, flags there ?
Is it possible to rebuild this partition without recovery CDs at all ?
Actually I'm wondering to, about the error message. It is saying '"..There is not enough free space in the boot sector ..." .
Is it possible that the boot sector is the problem and not the service partition ?
How can I fix that ?

Because I was getting intermittent boot-up error messages--"Rescue and Recovery has encountered a problem and needs to close"--with ver. 4.0, I tried to upgrade to ver. 4.2. Per instructions, I first removed ver. 4.0 using Windows Control Panel. Then each attempt to install 4.2 failed with the message: "Error 25025. There is not enough free space on the computer to install or upgrade the Rescue and Recovery environment." Just before that error message popped up in center-screen, I got a Windows message at lower right saying "You are running out of space on SERVICEV001 (Z:}" Of course, there was no way I could view partition Z (that I knew of).
Thanks to the helpful messages above, I downloaded Parted Magic (http://partedmagic.com), burned a boot CD per its instructions, and re-booted with that CD. Using GParted, I saw that my SERVICEV001 partition was merely 590 MB, and 587 MB was in use. So I reduced my C partition by 500 MB and added 500 MB to the Z partition, raising it to 1090 MB. Then I was able to re-boot into Windows and the installation of Rescue and Recovery 4.2 was error-free.
Out of curiosity, I again re-booted with the Parted Magic CD to see how much space on the Z partition was taken by the RnR ver. 4.2 installation. To my surprise, it showed that still only 587 MB was in use, and 503 MB remained unused.
I thank those in this forum whose messages gave me the needed guidance. And I thanked the author of Parted Magic with a $10 donation, as I hope other users of his open source program will do.

I have a brand new iphone 4s unlocked version from singapore and I am experiencing constant network fluctuations on my iphone , no service, call failed, invalid sim, sim failure, bars fluctuating from 5 - 3 - 2 - 1, no signal/bars searching etc... Ifeel miserable after trying out all the options changed multiple sims, tried multiple carriers, restored the phone back and have set-up as new device but the problem does not get solved... its is so frustrating that after investing on a world's most expensive phone you cannot enjoy the calling features which the phone offers which is the main thing you own the phone for.. Rest of the things are working.. The funniest part I am not able to make calls or receive calls but can access the internet.. I have tried every possible thing and really very frustrated with this iphone of mine...I hope the problem gets solved.. would anyone have any solutions to this problem.. Does it mean one should never update software as I hear that after updating to IOS.5.1 the problem has started coming and same has been with there.... Apple says its a hardware failure which is very difficult to digest as sometimes I get 5 bars and able to make and receive calls but 95% of the time I am unable to. If anyone has any solution I will be very happy if he or share can share the same. Many thanks. its so disgusting to experience this on top of this apple does not support global warranty for the phone as you need to go to the country from where you bought the phone for replacement.. Truly sad state of affairs.. very very very dissappointing.

I am having issues with my Window 7 on boot camp. My hardware is Macbook Pro Mid 2010 model and working on OS X 10.9.5. Recently I went to windows 7 to do a system upgrade but failed and was told to update the bootcamp drivers. I installed boot camp5 but seem to be the wrong version and change to boot camp 4 which was updated okay. However I still cannot do the updates. Can someone advice me please? Thank you!

Please help. My ipod classic could not be recognised by itunes when I connect my ipod to PC. Previously it has been recognised before I updated. This was a while ago now and so I removed all apple files and re installed the latest itunes but am having the same problem.
When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run?Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:

Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint. -

Could you please guide us how we can get those Odate services for application ,what are the activities we have to perform.

I just tried to print off some itunes advice but my computer froze. I re-booted it and ran the ipod diagnostic test again to get back to the screen I was on. This time "Secure Link to i tunes store failed" AND "i tunes helper not running" both appeared. Please help, all I can see is "Appears in Windows but not iTunes" at the top of the screen. Even though I only vaguely know what that means, I don't think that's the help I need.

Phone said call failed and lost service now has barley any service
I was on the phone and the call failed and then told me I had no service and now has barley any service and im in a normally high sevice area.

I have SQL Server 2008 R2 with two main services - SQL Server and SQL Agent.
I'll try to describe my situation. It happens very occasionally, but sometimes SQL Server service terminates unexpectedly. It's my log:

As you can see, SQL Server service terminates unexpectedly. Then SQL Agent service tries to start SQL Server service. After unsuccessfully attempts to start SQL Server service, SQL Agent service stops itself. I have the option setting in SQL Server
service to start itself after unexpectedly stop within 2 minutes and it is works well. But I have to start my SQL Agent service after this manually. Unfortunately, I can't investigate the reason of my SQL Server stops unexpectedly and in this case I just want
to make the settings to start both of my services SQL Server and SQL Agent automatically after this. How can I set up this? How can I make my SQL Agent service starts after SQL Server service?Hello,
SQL server agent service depends on SQL server service so unless SQL server service comes online agent will not come online so agent is depended on SQL server not the other wise.
Now is your server 2008 R2 patched to latest service pack (SP2).If not please upgrade it to latest SP.Some fixes are there in Sp which will subside this issue.Can you paste output of
select @@version

Did you checked sql server errorlog and windows event log completely.Please do so and paste if you find some more info
