ata 4.01 Failed to resume link (SControl 0)
These are the starting 3 lines of my boot process. I am not facing any problems but want to know why is the link failing to resume. I understand that this is with respect to the SATA link. Can anyone explain?

Not a problem, it's just a warning.
I have that on my old dell when the SATA BIOS setting is set to IDE i.o. AHCI iirc (which I have to left unchanged due to the dual boot with windoze which doesn't boot in AHCI).
Anyway, it looks like a patch might come http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.linux.ide/49813

  • The server failed to resume the transaction. Desc:d200000003.

    Hi,
We recently migrated our application from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 and we also migrated from WAS5 to WAS6.
We are getting the following exception when we call any of the stored procedures.
The server failed to resume the transaction. Desc:d200000003.
I guess this is the problem with the drivers. We use JDBC 2005 driver Version 1.1.
But we didnt face this problems when we use JDBC 2000 driver when we used to connect to SQL Server 2000
The Microsoft says that it has fixed the date problems as well as the transaction problems in the version 1.1.But still are facing the issues.
Can anyone of you please help me in getting the solution for the same?

This appears to be an error message which has it roots in MS DTC, Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator.
This indicates that you somewhere manage to get a distributed transaction. This could be because of two things:
    1) There are triggers on the tables that accesses linked server.
    2) Your client code dabbles with some transaction class, like TransactionScope or similar.

I have found a fix after doing additional research through this forum. Tech Note #328730 addresses this problem and it works for Photoshop Album 3.2 even though it was written for release 1.0.
Here is a link that will take you directly to the Tech Note:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=328730
When using this fix the Tech Note indicates:
"Imported image data and tags are lost when you re-create the My Catalog.psa file, so you need to reimport images and reapply any tags"
however it did retain the captions (at least it did for me).

  • The SMB client failed to resume a handle on a file share with continuous availability

    Hi.
We have a 2-node WS2012 cluster that has a file server role with couple shares configured.
We're however constantly getting spammed by the following errors in the eventlog:
    1) event 1002, source: SmbServer, message: "RKF failure - SRV2 failed to get acknowledgement from Resume Key filter for persistent handle request."
    2) SCOM has an alert opened with this description: "SMB client failed to resume Continuously Available (CA) handle as Resume Key Filter is not acknowledging the handle." Per the alert knowledge, we've inspected ResumeKeyFilter eventlog, but it
contains only informational message and warnings and none of those are from the time the alert was created.

  • DAG Cluster Failed to Resume Primary Active Manager

    Hi there,
I ran the StartDagServerMaintenance.ps1 script on our SiteA Exchange server then updated it and rebooted. SiteB Exchange server now has active Mailbox Database and is doing Client Access etc. After reboot of SiteA Exchange we had network issues and in the
process of troubleshooting I deleted the network adapters from Device Manager, and ran netsh int ip reset, then reconfigured them with their static IP's, and static routes for the Replication network.
    Site A MAPI Network - 192.168.1.0/24
    Site B MAPI Network - 192.168.2.0/24
    Site A Replication Network - 10.10.1.0/24
    Site B Replication Network - 10.10.2.0/24
Each site has one Exchange Server running all Roles and is in DAC Mode, on Exchange 2010 SP2.
Right now I cannot run the StopDagServerMaintenance.ps1 script because it says
Failed to resume the ability of the server SiteA-EX1 to host the Primary Active Manager, 'cluster.exe /cluster:SiteA-EX1 node SiteA-EX1 /resume' returned 5050.
In the EMC, Organization-Mailbox-DAG Networks, DagNetwork03 and DagNetwork04 say subnet 192.168.1.0/24 and 10.10.1.0/24 are Down and Unavailable.
In Failover Cluster Manager, Cluster Network 3 and Cluster Network 4 are in Status: Down.
I can ping all the subnets and Exchange IP addresses from both Exchange server.
SiteA Database copy is Healthy and no copy count. SiteB is Mounted.
EDIT: Networks are all up, question now is how do I move the PAM to the SiteA?
    I tried this command:
    Cluster.exe DAG1 group "Cluster Group" /moveto:SiteA-EX1
I get System error 5012 has occurred
The cluster group cannot be found.
The AlternateWitnessShareInUse is the alternate in SiteB.
When I run the command "cluster group" I get this:
    Group Node
    Status
    Cluster Group SiteB-EX1
    Online
    Available Storage SiteB-EX1
    Offline
I dont see the Node for SiteB.

  • Failed to resume automatic updates error 0x8024afff

I am running SCCM 2012 R2 with only one primary site. Windows updates seem to synchronize ok and i can manually push out updates and they install correctly. My issue happens when i try to deployed Automatic Updates for the first time. When i check the
ruleengine.log on the site server. i see that the rule doesn't find a single update to install even when i pick very simple parameters for the ADR to pick up. When i look at the updatehandler.log on the client side all i get is "Failed to resume automatic
updates error 0x8024afff" and it is unable to resume. our site only has 150 devices including servers. I'm only trying to configure an ADR for workstations. I have WSUS installed locally on the SCCM server and I am using a Remote Distribution point on
a Windows Server 2012 R2. I haven't been able to find much on this error code other than "0x8024AFFF WU_E_AU_UNEXPECTED An Automatic
Updates error not covered by another WU_E_AU * code." and no forums have been very helpful. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Here's what i get in the ruleengine.log when i start an ADR. The parameters i have set have been simple. such as choosing "security" updates when there are a few security updates that are required. I have tried to choose almost every single category minus
    products.

  • X301 - Fail to resume from hibernation

    Hello,
this failure to resume from hibernation mode is actually the only problem I have encountered so far but it does actually annoy me. The BIOS-Update or this (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70477.html) update did not help either.
Do you need any more specifications?
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your effort!

I have the same problem too. Almost the system fails to resume from sleep mode everytime. I changed my power setting, when I close lid, it will go to hibenation mode, but the situation does not become much better. It is really annoying. I lost my current session, if I forget to shut down my system, before I close the lid.
This problem did not happen so frequently, until I updated the audio driver and turbo memory driver on aug. 30. The dear Thinkpad team, could you take a deeper investigation and make a solution for us?
In windows event logger, I find the following error message:
Description: The last sleep transition was unsuccessful. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, failed, or lost power during the sleep transition.
    Source: Kernel Power
    Level: Critical
If you need further information, I will be cooperated.

  • Task sequence fails to resume after first reboot - Post Installation Task Sequence

    Hi everyone,
I am unable to deploy a Post Installation Task Sequence whenever I add an application to the "custom tasks" folder in the task sequence.  If I create a blank Post Installation Task Sequence w/o making any changes, it deploys fine and gives
me a summary page w/ no errors. Just to be clear, Litetouch runs fine when I kick off "cscript litetouch.vbs" from an elevated cmd prompt when logged in as administrator, but after reboot it boots to windows and does nothing.
I know it's not deploying because it's leaving around a mapped drive to the share, a SMSTaskSequence folder and MININT folder on the target machine.   My understanding is that those are supposed to get cleaned up by LTIcleanup.wsf at the end of the
    task sequence.
The BDD.log doesn't seem to be of much use.  The last line of the log says "sms task sequencer already found on c:\minint\tools\x64" and then it does nothing.
FWIW, I'm able to deploy using the standard task sequence and also able to sysprep and capture. The application that I am trying to install is just a batch file that adds the reg key to hide the start menu, then reboot.  I am not rebooting in the script,
I'm telling the application to do the reboot in MDT.
I know to a certainty that the target machine (a VM) has been sysprepped and am able to establish a connection to the deployment share so I'm kind of at a loss.  Also looked over Keith's FAQ on the subject and couldn't find any similarities to my issue.
Any help is appreciated.  I can provide logs if necessary.  Thanks!

Well, I created a fresh deploymentshare on a fresh windows server 2012 VM and am still having the same problem.  If I create a blank Post OS Installation Task and make no changes, it deploys fine to the target vm (win8.1).  If I have an app (chrome)
that I have set to reboot after installation, it always (tested this 30+times) fails to resume the task sequence.  I get no final confirmation page and a big mess that I clean up with LTIcleanup.wsf.
The deployment share has full (everyone) permissions to the share and I have full perms set to domain admin group for ntfs.  It seems like something goes wrong with the reboot cycle, but autologin seems to work fine with the admin pw so I'm really confused.
Like I said, the bdd.log in c:\windows\temp\deploymentshare doesn't have any errors.  I've tested this both on joined and unjoined (workgroup) machines and it makes no difference.
I should note that I can deploy Chrome and other apps sequentially as long as reboots are not involved.  So far, I've only had this problem if the reboot occurs with the first application.  Haven't yet tested on reboots w/ other apps in the sequence.
FWIW, this is starting to look like this:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/2db5f184-8332-4f63-b1ad-385a6d893f8c/mdt-2013-windows-81-application-install-with-reboot-problem?forum=mdt
Can someone tell me why this might be happening?  Is this a bug with this task sequence? Would someone mind testing this to see if there's just something wrong in my environment?
    I'd appreciate it.  Thanks.

I'm finding this error happening on my 12" PowerBook G4. It started happening just a day or so ago and the machine has been running Leopard since Sunday.
I've run the ADT program and that has found no issues with the machine (ran the long and short test) so far.
The machine was an Erase/Install and a Migration Assistant from a SuperDuper Image to restore apps and accounts. My other machine is the PMac G5 and it has had no issues like this so far (fingers crossed).
I'm taking the PB back to Tiger to see if the issue is OS related or not. If it's HW - I would expect it will show it's head again.
Apple is advertising a sale tomorrow for Black Friday - maybe it's time to upgrade to a MBPro...
My KP is pasted below in case the fact that my PB is suffering the same issue and my KP data helps.

  • Fan Control fails after resume from pm-suspend

    Hi,
i recently upgraded to 2.6.37 (on a hp nx6325 laptop) and noticed the following behaviour after a resume from pm-suspend:
The fan control stops working until cpu reaches a temperature of 60°. As soon as the temperatur passes this threshold the fan starts rotating at max. speed. Below 60°, the fan is turned off immediately.
    pm-suspend.log:

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC Fails To Dynamically Link Embedded AE Comps Within PR.

When launching a PR project in Media Encoder to kick off a render.  The dynamic link engine loads the PR sequence just fine but during the render it fails to read any clips that were "relaced with AE comp", instead inserting an "offline media" plate.  Launching the PR project and reviewing as well as rendering from within PR works fine.  Please note that this worked fine in Adobe Media Encoder CS6.
    *****Edit
In doing some tests to consistently replicate the problem, it turns out that AE CC has to be open WITH the replaced clip comps loaded at the time PR OR Media Encoder is running with projects that contain the "replaced with AE comps" footage.  Repeating the test with AE CC closed at the time yields the "offline media" result.  This is definitely a bug I'd say.  AE should not have to be launched with the project files loaded up in order for any dynamically linked comps to work.
    ****Edit
Please note the entire product chain is CC.  Thank you.

    Update.....
    Problem solved.
It turns out that any dynamically linked CC apps must be run by the same user on the same machine in order to work properly.  In this case, PR and AME were being run as a standard user on the workstation while AE was being run as administrator via the shortcut launch properties.  The latter being necessary to have certain plugins function properly in AE CC.  Modifying the AE shortcut to not run as administrator resolves dynamic linking issues.
Although it can be argued that logically all Adobe apps should be run by the "same user" on the workstation, it would be nice for the dynamic link engine to be more "real world" about linking projects on the same workstation in the case where a particular resource needs to be launched as an administrator.  Security considerations in towe, this ain't top secret government or banking data risk management folks.  Lighten up.  Maybe a little warning box that pops up and says "such and such needs to be run as administrator....do you allow?".....after all this is EXACTLY what the OS does anyway when you launch as anyone other than the administrator from a shortcut.  Quite reasonable for you (Adobe) to simply cascade the behavior.

  • Failed to open links on the Intranet.

    Hello!
In the technical support page for my company there are several links that allow access to files stored in folders on the server, however when the user gives a click on a link, the browser can not open the corresponding file.
    Example:
    Link: Technical Support.
    Path: ... <a href="file://\\srvbvmg2\support"> ... </ a> ...
At first, I noticed that in the status bar is showing the following information: "http://intranet\\srvbvmg2\support". How do I make Firefox read the path of the shared network folder without displaying the words "http://intranet"?
NOTE: The procedure that was posted in the forum (Firefox fails to open Locan based intranet server files) did not solve my problem.

    usbiksc,
Give the steps outlined in this article a shot and let us know if it helps. Best of Luck!

  • Fails to resume after pm-suspend after changing graphics card.

Hello, i earlir had an ATI card, but it broke a few days ago. I got my hands on a very cheap second-hand nvidia card, and put it in my machine. After installing the correct driver, everything worked smooth until i tried to wake my computer from suspend. The screen is black and i can hear system beeps when pressing buttons causing system beeps, and can reboot with the help of my magical sysrq key.
The card is a Geforce FX 5950 and i fail to find a single complain about suspend not working with it.

This is my pm-suspend log after a failed awakening.

  • Backup failed: can't link file

    Hi,
Somehow one hard disk went south, one that I luckily used to backup with Time Machine, so no harm done there, and now after bringing a drive up again, using the very same volume name, restoring with Time Machine was a piece a cake.
But, on the other hand, now whenever I try to have this new "old" volume being backed up with Time Machine, the latter reports a failure due to not being able to link files (something about UUIDs or similar).
How can I resolve this and get everything working as smoothly and neatly as before without loosing any of my backups or having to use another disk for the backup?
    - MMHein

    Hi,
    Well my environment consists of:
    *) Mac Mini (internal HD, 120GB, 42GB free, name "S" = System)
*) USB HD (external HD, Maxtor OneTouch 750GB, 408GB free, name "B" = Backup)
*) USB HD (external HD, Maxtor 250GB, 61GB free, name "D" = Data)
When volume/drive "D" got corrupted and couldn't be repaired or recovered, I had to sweep the partition, re-partition the drive and format it again, using the very same name for the volume as before ("D").
Next step was to perform a restore of the previously backed up contents of the former volume "D". As all my Time Machine backups are done exclusively to volume "B" it was rather a piece of cake, only a bit time-comsuming as I had something around 120GB to restore.
Having successfully accomplished this I now wanted to configure Time Machine to backup volume "D" again (which I have disabled for the duration of the restore). At first it seem to work just as intended (and it actually took quite a long time), but in the end Time Machine quit with an error message, saying it couldn't complete the backup ("...can't link files..."; so unfortunately an error message not found under the link you posted ).
