Attach animated gif to signature

Is there a way to attach an animated gif to the signature on my verizon email

Yes there is a way. You have to go to the animated gif you want to use, right click, select copy. Then you have to go into your email account on verizon.net. Go into email settings, then to signature. In the blank box to type your signature, right click, then paste. If you need any additional assistance, please send me a private message.

  • Animated gif in signature

    Hey Guys
Is there any way of including a small animated gif in my signature?
I tried just copying and pasting but then only the first frame displays.
    Thanks in advance

I'm having this issue as well — I can no longer send animated gifs in Mail with Mavericks (10.9.0). The image retains its full image size and remains a gif format, but does not play, just sits static. This also affects forwarding animated gifs — which play fine in the mail window — they are static in the compose window and are sent static.

  • Animated Gifs in Email

I want to attach animated gifs to my email messages. When I do, the images stay static and aren't animated.
My PC friends use Outlook Express to compose their email, and the animations work fine. I checked the information for Entourage and found that it doesn't support animated gifs. Does anyone know how to do this on the Mac, using Tiger 10.4.11?

    Mulder,
I went to the site you mentioned, downloaded an animated GIF, and sent myself a test email. When it didn't work, I went back to that site's help menu and have copied what it said below:
"How to use animated GIF Images
For use in web pages: see Image Usage & Linking Policy
For use in Microsoft Outlook: In Outlook 2003 and earlier, an animated image can be incorporated into the email text, only when using the HTML format. Position the cursor at the point where the image is to appear and select Insert/Picture.
When using the Word editor for composing email messages, the image will not animate. Outlook 2007 does not support animation in any format.
For use in Microsoft PowerPoint: You should not have any issues inserting and viewing animated images."
I checked your response carefully and found that the only difference is that you have a signature set up for your emails, and I do not.
I went to the Eudora site and they support animated GIFs if you sign up for their "paid" program. I couldn't find out the cost anywhere and suspect that it shows up after you've downloaded the program. I'm not familiar with the Balzac client but will check it out. I don't compose my emails using HTML. I simply use the Mail program and format my text using the font and color menus. Is that how you do yours? (I'm still looking for that "extra ingredient" that you have [besides your brain] that makes yours work.)
    Thanks again.

  • Text messages with animated .gif files attachment

I recieved a text the other day with an animated gif file attached. I believe it was sent as a zip file. Anyway I tried to open it and all I got was a gray screen with an icon . No animation.. The second one I recieved was from a buddy. I watched and listened to it on his Droid 1. I had him send it to my phone text came through fine when I went to load and play the gif file it .had sound but no animation, just the gray screen again. I know the attachment is a zip file as I sent it to my email and opened it on my computer. Any thoughts maybe there's a setting I'm not finding? I'm using whatver text mesage program thats standard on the DX.
    Thanks
    MTY55.

Sounds like the issue you are having is that the files are zipped, MMS should be zipped because it has to access the files to display it.. I send and recieve anifated gif files and they play fine but also keep in mind that for some reason the stock email client does not play all files at same time, if there is a audio and photo, it will play audio and then the photo..

  • How do I add an animated GIF to my signature

I am trying to add an animated GIF to my out going email. For my signature. How can do this?

Don't worry! Don't worry everyone I worked it out. Actually I just read the Mail support page segment on adding a signature. You just add a signature as usual but when you add the text, you can drag and adrop a pic/logo into that box. Ah, duh!

  • Attaching hyperlink to animated gifs

Has anyone been successful with attaching a hyperlink to an animated gif? I'm new to all this and I'm not even sure if this is possible (but it seems reasonable to me). I can drag and drop the animated gif into iWeb, but then the option to make it a hyperlink is not available.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried converting a standard animated gif into a .swf file via GraphicConverter and inserting the .swf into iWeb. But that doesn't work. Also, iWeb adds the QT controller to the bottom of the image, which I don't want to see. Does anybody know how to turn that off too?
    Thanks.

  • Importing .GIF into Fc will not play the animated gif in output

I imported a animated .gif  (attached video.gif) into Fc (of a sequence of pics I took saved as an animated .gif)
It inported as a "bitmap image" and upon export to swf it did NOT show the .gif as an animated .gif but just shows the first frame..
(It did not put this file into an assests folder...)
So I converted the "bitmap image" into an optimaized graphic...and NOW it DOES put the original animated gif into the "assets" folder with a Graphic1.fxg and video.gif in that folder.. and If I open the gif in the assest folder it plays it as the animated .gif it is..
BUT SADLY upon export to SWF it still DOES not play the gif as an animated gif.. just the first frame...
Can I do anything in the code to tell the swf file that is exported to play the gif in the assest folder as an animated gif not just show the frame?
I did the animated gif approach becasue I setup a photoshop cs4 file with a quicktime video as a layer and Fc only brought in the first frame of the quicktime layer..
Could the next beta of Fc include the ability to import and play animated gifs as artwork as well AND/or to import Ps Cs4 video layers as videos
So I would have to created a video page in flash pro and import that as a object? into a state?
(no experience with flash pro but just bought cs4 and will try to learn FlashPro overweekend)

Interesting. I don't think this is somethign you can do in Flash Catalyst. We have .GIF support in the Flash Player but I don't think you can use a GIF asset inside Catalyst. If you need that GIF to play you'll have to embed it using Flash Builder.
But Flash Catalyst will support video version 1.0. I don't think you can turn arbitrary layers into "video" layers but you can bring in video files (like .FLV) and then attach components to behaviors (like play, stop, etc).

  • Animated .gif not moving

I've been intrigued by the new animated "postcards" or cinemagraphs (for example, see http://fromme-toyou.tumblr.com/tagged/gif). I found a great tutorial about how to do this using Photoshop Extended and the animation panel. I created my own, and then followed the instructions for saving the file:
    1. "Save for Web and Devices"
    2. make sure to save as GIF, looped "forever"
When I previewed the gif (from the "save for web and devices" dialog box), it worked great.
But when I save the gif, it doesn't move. It is just one frame of the animation, as a static photo. When I click the file, I get a "Preview" that shows all the frames, but I can't ever get it to move.
Is there a step I'm missing? Or is there some operating system setting I need to change? I've never created an animated gif before, but I can see other people's animated gifs in my email. (I'm attaching my gif in case you can figure it out from that.)
OKAY...I looked at the attachment, and it moves (my dog's eyes). This is the only time it has worked. I've tried to email it, post it on Tumblr, open it in my browser, but it never worked. Now, I post it here, and--at least as I look at the attachment--it works here. How can I get it to move when I post it online or try to send it via email?
I'm running Mac OSX 10.6, Photoshop CS 5.1.
    Thank you!
    Carol

Some email clients disable animated GIFs.
Web sites like Tumblr that have image upload functions may further process your file during upload by removing its animated features. You could control this by hosting images on your own web site.
In general, animated GIF files are not ideal for emails because of their large size. GIF is an inefficient format for photorealistic animation/video.

  • Animated gif in mail are not visible after upgrade to mavericks

    Hi,
I use a animated gif in my signature in mail. This gif was playing normally (like a animated gif) in mountain lion when I writes a new message. After upgrading to mavericks I can't see the animated gif playing. I just see the first frame. However when I send a mail to my iPad using iOS 7 the animated gif is playing normally.
    Thanx for every answer!

  • Animated GIF problem saving for web in CS6

I made an animated gif in CS6 and trying to save it for the web. The duration of the animation is pretty long, about 44 seconds. After 17 seconds the animation stops while the saving was completed. How can I solve this problem? The file is too large to attach (725 x 225 px) unfortunately.
    Please give me some advice;-)

Yopu probably exceed the GIF specs and generate too many frames.
    How many frames are possible?

  • Creating animated gif with transparency

I have created an animated gif that fades in from nothing (transparent) using the opacity tool.
when i save as optimised in Imageready the image fades in in a kind of grainy unatractive way.
is there any way i can adjust the optimisation settings so it doesn't do this? or any way of using tween to overcome it?
when veiwed in 'original' view it fades in beautifully with no grainyness
i have attached the image here as a demo (you might need to refresh the page to see it reload)
    any help greatly appreciated!

The GIF format only offers 1-bit transparency so you either have pixels there at 100% or at 0%. A pattern or diffusion dither is used to fake partial transparency. This is where you see the grain.
You're trying to do something that the GIF format does not support. You need to approach this differently. Web page elements that fade in are done with javascript or Flash/SWF.

  • [PLEASE HELP!] Converting Flash (fla) to Animated Gif (gif) becomes pixelated!!!!

    Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone can urgently help me please.
I've got a FLA file making an animated banner.
When I export it as an animated GIF, the background (which
originally is a solid color) has either dots or crosses making up
    the color.
I've tried different settings such as dithering, changing the
palette but have had no luck. And I'm using one of the 256 colors.
Using a FLA that did have a good solid bg converted animated
GIF, I tried to export that one as well and it comes up with the
    same problem.
So that means it's not the color/fla that is wrong, but is my
exporting to animated gif method. Any help please?
Attached is how the background turns out:
    http://img403.imageshack.us/my.php?image=86993715ss7.gif
    http://img140.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bg2wf9.png

And also when I try the publish method, the text either
produces some whacked up image or just see a sort of white box
    shape around the original text.

  • Animated Gif showing OK in Mac Email Body but not the PC

    Hello,
Not sure where to post this (MAC or PC Photoshop forum), but I will try here first.
I have an animated gif that is placed in a Microsoft Word Document and then Sent from there, as an HTML e-mail.
This guarantees that the animated gif shows up in the body, not as an attachment.
All is well on the mac side, but the PC just shows the first frame...The animation doesn't work.
    Does anyone know why?
I have checked on Outlook 2003 and 2010...no animation.
    Thanks
    babs

    Hi Marian,
I agree 100%...Unfortunately, We want to add a little bit of animations to our evites..nothing extravagant, but many of our in-house folks and clients use Outlook. We initially started to use the Word option, because we didn't want the emails to be just background images, as there were other issues.... but we couldn't send them as attachments either, as we wanted the evite to be in the body when they opened the e-mail, not an attachment. If you have any other suggestions about how we could use an animated gif in the body of an e-mail to show up in outlook, I am all ears!!! Of course, like Jeffery points out, if Outlook won't play them anyway, then we simply can't do it. I just have to believe there is some way to do this that will work for outlook as well???
Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks!

  • Animated Gif files in Captivate

I have created an animated GIF file in Photoshop that i want to use in my captivate file.
The file wont preview in any of the preview modes other than the HTML5 output preview. All other previews just show the first frame of the GIF file.
If i chose to SWAP the animation with another GIF from the library the preview shows the animation playing.. see attached
Is there something im doing wrong here.
I guess i could upload my final file to the LMS with HTML5 output as this preview shows the animation but i also read there are limitations with this output as some transitions / effects dont work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Darren

    Hi Darren,
Yes, you can verify whether your GIF would fucntion correctly on HTML5 platform by Window--HTML5 Tracker Pod.
I am not an expert on Photoshop, but still would like to make a recommendation.
Set the 'delay' value for each of your Frame to 0.01 or some value if it shows as 0, this can be done using the animation frame Window. Save it as GIF again for Web Devices and import in Captivate, see, if you are abale to preview this time.
    Thanks,

  • Suggestion to Apple: Animated GIF's in mail.

[Note: I would prefer to not hear one response from an apple user stating "animated gifs are ugly I'm glad it doesn't work." I too hate them, but read on...]
I recently helped a family of PC users switch to a Pentium iMac. I do their tech support and this has made my life SO much easier
The wife loves sending stupid little animated gifs back and forth to her friends... it's not for us to judge if they're ugly or annoying, they like them. Period.
I am so ashamed to have to go to her when I return her computer today and say "I'm sorry, this awesome and capable computer I have set you up with is unable to play back simple Animated GIF's.
I trust in Apple... playing back an animated gif should NOT be a major security threat. Make it work. Of course I could switch her back to Thunderbird but then that breaks her Address Book as well.
    --Dan Dawson

If her friends are using Outlook Express, then it should work. Here is an excerpt from:
    http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-19275.html
    a) Apple Mail can embed animated Gifs in Mime Format Mails, but it doesn't show them animated itself! This means if you send such a Mail to a user with e. g. Outlook Express, he will see the Gif with it's animation, although Apple Mail didn't show it!
    b) Even more interesting is this: when a user with Outlook Express sends you an Mail with embeded animated Gif, Apple Mail also shows the animation! Why is this, you may ask? It's because Outlook Express sends the Mail as HTML with MIME Attachment and also does a URL "CID:" reference in the HTML code to the actual embeded animated Gif! Quite nifty!
    --- End Quote ---
You can read the site for more information.
The other option is to just use MS-Entourage.
Entourage can synchronize with Apple's Address Book. And, it's naturally going to have support built-in for Microsoft's methods.
As for making suggestions to Apple, you'll get better results by making the request to Apple directly.
They don't comb this discussion forum for ideas. And, tend to ignore what we say here.
So, go to their actual feedback page, and submit your request there:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/
At least then you know someone at Apple will actually read it.
There's no guarantee that they'll implement your request. But, you'll have a better chance if you submit your requests there.
Like all requests, the more people that want it, the more likely it will be added. So, get all your friends to request the feature if you want it.
Obviously, if the request comes repeatedly from the same person, they'll probably grow tired of it, and quit reading your requests. But, if several distinctively different people ask for something, they are very likely to consider it.
    Hope this helps.
