Attaching a printer to TC?

Hi i have a wireless home network set up through my internet provider.. a netgear something or other... i have ordered my 2GB Time capsule, due to arrive next week.. id like to attach my printer to the TC but not use its wifi? or should i use the TC's wifi and not my netgear wifi? i have cable... if you need any more info just ask.

You can attach a printer to the USB port on the Time Capsule, but if you attach an all-in-one device, only the print function will work.
If you need the scan, fax, copy, maintenance, etc functions, you will need to connect the all-in-one directly to a USB port on your computer.
The Time Capsule will provide a simultaneous dual band wireless network. If your Netgear does not have this type of capability, you will probably want to take advantage of the faster speeds on the dual band Time Capsule and attach the device to your Netgear router using an Ethernet cable.
But, it's really your call.
If you only want the Time Capsule to backup using the Netgear wireless network, you can configure it to "join" the Netgear wireless network as Kappy mentions.

Yes, on the front of the printer: Setup > Wireless > Restore Defaults.
Now on your computer, in the HP folder, run the Printer Setup and Software to add the printer to your new network.

How can i print an email without the attached pictures printing as well?

I am trying to print an email that has pictures attached. I do not need the pictures to be printed.
The pictures are showing in the body of the email.
When I try to print it scales down the text to make two of the pictures fit on the first page.
How do I change this so I can print the text separately?

If the sender embedded the image instead of attaching it then you could try selecting only the text before printing That should print without the images. Thunderbird will only prints what is selected unless there is nothing selected. Then it prints all. You can test this with Print Preview.
If the image is truly an attachment, then go to the menu bar and select View and uncheck Display Attachments Inline.

This is a problem. The new layout for apple mail in iCloud shows the body of a mail or any attachments on the right half of the screen. But it won't print just the attachment, it prints the whole email page, cutting off the bottom of the attachment.

Even if I try to 'screen shot' just the attachment, the view won't move down as I enlarge the 'screen shot' to get all of the attachment. Previously, I could "SAVE" the attachment and only the attachment would be saved. Now the whole email page including the address info from the top is saved, so when I try to print what should be an 8.5x11 attachment the bottom of it won't print because the top 2" include the email address info.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

Mail does not print attachment name & prints small

When printing an email, if it has an attachment, it does not print the attachment name. It prints the icon of the attachment (excel, word, psd, etc.) but it doesn't print the name of the file under it. This started happening since upgrading to Mavericks.
Also, emails are printing much smaller. Is there a way to enlarge the font when printing?

The same here and quite a lot of other Mail bugs - and all since the new MacPro and Mavericks, no such problems with Mavericks on the MacBookPro 2011 though
Sometimes the file names are printed, sometimes not and there is no way to find out why - it happens on and off with own mails to be sent and mails received.
Workaround for own mails is put each file underneath the other with some distance from the last word. Workaround in case of customer mails received go to reply, edit signature on top, reduce to one page and hope .... sometimes it works.
Also: on and off, Preview will show and printer will print only header on the first page, then body text on the second - only workaround to date (and believe me, I've tried everything) is use Reply, eliminate your own signature and reduce the printed area to less than a page
Also: long mails with back-and-forth messages may print a line half on one page and lower half on second one .... no workaround here.
Seems Mail is going to A4 US instead of A4 small (Europe), though this is not what the printer and the system or Word etc. are set to.
And a sneaking suspicion, that it works ok with people sending me mails from a Mac, but not from a Windows box ... can't bother all my customers though and ask
So please Apple - lots of people have the same problems - will you finally do something about it ... and yes I used the Feedback function

Attach old printer to wireless network?

Hello, I have an older printer that does not have built-in wireless capability. This printer was attached to my home network via USB to my desktop...however, my desktop recently passed and I am now looking for suggestions on how to adapt this printer to my home network for accessibility via my wireless laptop. I would prefer to have the ability to locate the printer in a different room than the router if possible...so a wireless adapter solution would be ideal. Many thanks for any suggestions.

Which printer is it? Some are wireless capable if you purchase an adapter to make it so. You can get a wireless print bridge though they can be expensive to the point that it is usually more cost effective to buy a wireless printer, especially considering the ink costs and how much they have gone down.

PO attachment in print

Hi,
We have created a customized PO layout using smartforms.
While creating a PO in SRM 4 (extended classic scenario), we are attaching some documents to the PO. When we e-mail the PO, the attachments are mailed along with the PO.
However we would like that when the PO is printed the contents of the PO attachment also get printed. How do we achieve that?

Still using XP Pro, can I "print to file" (option) an online bank form, import to Adobe Reader XI, sign it and email it as attachment, without printing first?

I am told by my bank's customer service rep, who believes that "print to PDF" is available in Windows 7, there should be a way to import a form or document to Adobe Reader XI, sign it and save the result in order to email as attachment. I am trying to avoid using a fax machine or a scanner, not yet set up. In addition, Windows 7 is in process of being loaded on another laptop, but not yet complete.

"print to PDF" from what? If the form is already a fillable PDF, then just fill it, save it, and send it via email (or share via Files at https://cloud.acrobat.com/).

Attach specific printer to output device

I have created an output device in SPAD tcode .Its name is YSEA. Now i want to attach a specific printer to this output device. Like whenever i use this output device and give a print command, the print should come on this specific printer only. Now how do i give this specific printer so that it fulfills this requirement.

I need to attach a printer command (PCL) to all jobs from a print queue

We're running NW5.1 SP1a, and I want to send a PCL command to the
printer before all print jobs come from a certain queue. The purpose of
this is so that the DOS-based program that prints to LPT3 will print
from tray 2 of our networked laser printer. I have the PCL command I
need, and if I put it at the beginning of a doucment and then print it
from the DOS program, it will come from the correct tray.
BTW, this program is run from machines running DOS 6.22, Windows 98,
and XP. Some of the DOS boxes do a network boot from floppy, so doing
something with printer drivers on each machine is not an option. Since
they all capture the same print queues, all it would take is to be able
to send the PCL command to the printer with every job. Surely this is
possible?

Thank you for your help. I finally figured out what the problem was.
None of the printer definitions were visible to me when creating print
job configurations. I finally figured out what you do to import them.
Now I can attach them to my print job configuration. Yay!
I must have had some problem with the search queries I was using,
because I never could find out how to create print device definitions.
I have a couple of books here, but all they say is useless stuff like
"Print device definitions are created using the Administrator Console."
Thanks to the page of the documentation you linked to (and searching
from that section of the documentation and then following the
resulting links), I found out exactly what to do with the Administrator
Console to create/define print configurations. Now I can create a
complete print job. Yee-haw!
BTW, I have no problem RTFM-ing as long as I have the right FM to R.

P.S--For what it's worth, although initially a bit counterintuitive for
someone whose primary background is Microsoft-based, the more I delve
into Netware, the better I like it. It makes the MS methodology seem
like a bunch of ugly hacks held together with the software equivalents
of bailing wire and duct tape.

I have a peculear requirement for the inhouse application.
I generate a standard Purchase order report with normal requirements using d2k reports. This report is being printed as soon as the transaction commits and goes to the printer.
The Purchase order comes in 2 pages dependsing on the items and terms and conditions.
I have a standard Pdf doc comp_prof.pdf (which changes regular intervals conists of various comp. info and not related any database activity).
Currently this information is being printed manually after the Purchaae order is being printed.
I tried to incorporated in after report trigger. I was not succesful.
Pl. help what are the various options I have to solve this.
If I convert a PO to mail this doc also should go.

the pdf need to print is not from oracle d2k report. That is pdf is a particular location. The pdf is not getting generated form oracle or any d2k component.
It is a standard any pdf doc consists of 3 page information.

Attachment list printing problem

I am using the Entourage mail program. How does one get the box that lists the file names of attachments to a message to print out as part of the message? I just want to have a printed copy of the list--not the contents of the attachments called out in the list.
For instance, I send out a message with a series of attachments listed in the box below the subject line, but when I print out the message I have sent, the attachments are available when the paper clip is clicked, but are not listed when a copy of the sent message is printed.

Recognizing a printer attached to an Airport Extreme Base Station

I have attached a printer to the usb port of my airport extreme base station. The printer is recognized by two of my MacBook Pros running Mac OS X version 10.4.11. However, it is not recognized by my latest MacBook Pro running 10.5.2. Is this a problem with the new system, or is there another reason? I have, of course, made sure that the printer drivers are installed, and the printer attached to the Airport works with the new MacBook Pro when connected directly through a usb port on the laptop. Any help will be gratefully received!!

Sending/Printing Mail to Avoid Printing Attachment in Body of E mail?

When I send an email using Apple's Mail program and the other party receives it, the attachment is printed in the body of the email. How can I (or can I) suppress this so only the attachment is just that, an attachment, and not included in the body of the email?

Just a quick note on a couple of things. When I got a new 8110 with OS 4.3 and BES migrated over all my settings and data, I had the colored lines show up because they were set on my old 8100. However, when I went into the Security->General settings enterprise and other were set to "none". Very strange. So I set them to different colors and saved the settings. Then went back in and set them to "none", saved the settings, and they were gone.
Also, I have been using Empower Email viewer for a while and it let's you set the headercolor differently for each email account. It doesn't use those hideous stripes at all and I have the header colors set to be just subtly different between each email account. The background color is the same for all messages and I have it set to a soft complimentary color. All very nice on the eyes. I have the Empower Pro version, which isn't very cheap, but I love being able to add a task or appointment from an email and it also cleans up long URL's, so the colors were a nice added touch to all that.

How can iMail be setup so that when an email is printed, the attachments to the email are listed with filename and size.. as opposed to a quickview of the attachment being printed out??

no, don't know. it may depend on the attachment as right now I have an emial with 5 word documents attached and when printed, each icon shows up with its name and size below it.
