Attaching document to task assigned to equipment

We have documents saved in our DMS by equipment number.  How do we attach a particular document to a task defined in the planned orders?

Hi Karen,
to be able to link tasks to DMS documents you have to customized the specific object under transaction SPRO
- Cross-Applications Components
  - Document Management
    - General Settings
      - Define Screen for object links
Here you can set all needed SAP standard objects which you would like to link to a document. To grant that always the latest dynpros and authorizations are used, please see note 375452 and set the mentioned value "1" in the column "Auth..".
You may find a listing of all standard SAP objects in transaction SE80 under function group CV130 --> "Dynpros".
After doing this, you can add the specific objects to a document type in transaction DC10. Here choose the needed objects for a specific document type and enter them under "Define object links".
Afterwards it should be possible to link a document to another SAP object by
transaction CV02N under tab "object link".  From the object side, you can link a document by going to menu "Environment". There should be a subpoint like
"Documents", where a pop-up appears and there you can add the specific document info record.
Relevant notes regarding object link behavior are:

Hope this information is useful for you.

  • Attaching documents using object services

    Hello,
Are there any performance/sizing guidelines for utilizing the object services function to attach documents to service orders, notification, equipment, etc?
Our users would like to do this, and I am concerned about performance.
    chris

    Hi Chris,
from the document point of view I do not know any restrictions which lead to a loss in performance if you attach more documents to a service order or something else.

  • Dispute Case:UDM_Dispute Attach document

    Dear All
We want to attach document to dispute case. We know attachment function available when someone open the dispute case from inbox but in this way only a person who is assigned as processor can assign the document to dispute case. But if someone other than processor wants to assign any document from UDM_Dispute.
    Thanks and Best Regards

Are you asking how to add an excel spreadsheet into a dispute or something like that?
    It is fairly simple,
This is done via linked objects.
In the other folder, you can add attachments.
There is config to be defined for the file type i.e. pdf, or xls.
Document types for Attachments for Dispute cases is the config task.

I need the tables to link the document attached in functional location, equipment with work order / functional location / equipmemnt.

    Hi,
The table which contains the document assignment is DRAD table. Where you have to pass your equipment number or Functional location in Object Key field DRAD-OBJKY along with this object as DRAD-DOKOB. In case of equipment the entry in *DRAD-DOKOB as EQUI and in case functional location it will be IFLOT.
This is how you can find out attached documents based on document type per equipment or Functional location.
    Hope it is help ful.

  • Error while attaching document to report on Portal - Invalid selection valu

    Hello All,
We are running our reports on Portal and as per the business requirement the users have to create comments or attach documents to certain amounts in certain columns and once they create the comment a document icon shows up near that amount (for example there are 3 columns Budget, actual, balance then the user have to create comment for some amounts which needs explanation) they do that from context menu  Documents -> Create new Comment.
Now we want those documents to be saved on Infoprovider level and not on master data for any particular object. We have activated the flag "Characteristic is document property" on related infoobjects. We have the flag to display document icon on Infoprovider active in the web template. Now when I run the report I am able to create new comments on first two columns and when the report refreshes it shows me icon near that amount but it gives me errors on third column after the report refreshes itself. Now when I go in portal KM repository where documents are stored I do see the document that I created for the third column as well so looks like the document is getting created and being stored but the issue is when it tries to display the icon on that third column.
The error I get is this:
The initial exception that caused the request to fail was:

Please give some inputs if anyone is facing same problem or is anyone has worked previously with this kinda of stuff.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kiran

    Hi!
Have you solved this problem? I have the same problem after a SPS implementation (SPS 17). The message appears when we select a single value in a DP (hierarchical filter item) that filters another one, but when I select a node it doesn't.
Before the patch implementation the apliccation worked ok.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Cannot attach documents at order operation level in PM order.

    Hi,
We have recently upgraded to EHP6 and I have activated the EAM business functions including LOG_EAM_CI_6. In my PM work order, on the Additional Data tab, I can see the "Document Assignment" section at the bottom. Here I attach an existing document and choose Assign to Order. Then I attach another existing document and choose Assign to Operation (0010). After saving the order if I go back into it (IW32/IW33). the document assigned to order header is still there but the document attached to the operation disappears.
I have defined the document type that I am assigning at header level and operation level in Customizing for Cross-Application Components under Document Management --> Control Data --> Define Document Types. I have also specified in Customizing that the assignment to objects PMAUFK (order) and/or PMAFVC (operation) is allowed for the document type of those documents.
Can someone please advise what's wrong here ? I have to attach/assign docs to operations.
    Thanks,
    Sandy

    Hi Sandy
Can you please make sure two things:
    1) IMG --> DMS --> Control Data --> Define Document Types --> Select Doc Type ---> Define Object Links. It must be something similar to this one. Without entering CREATE DOCUMENT settings, you may not be allowed to attach a document. That might be causing the issue. If you do not want from within IW31, someone is creating documents then make sure this setting has value =2.
One more possible reason for this is 1:n field in this same setting. If 1:n is not selected, please read the help for that field and make sure the uniqueness of your document attachment to objects.
    2) IMG --> DMS --> Control Data --> Maintain Screen for Object Link
For this one make sure that you have a screen entry for PMAUFK and PMAFVC.
Now if attachment does not work, try creating a document and let us know what is the error message.
And do you know that there is another way of attaching documents to the operation which is attaching them as PRT. Just select the operation, click on PRT button and select document and attach it.
    I hope this will help.

  • Workflow - Retrieve attached document on the container

    Hello All!!
I have configured a decision task to e included a rejection text on the UWL.
When I add this text, I can see on the Container I have attached an Office Document with my text, on the BOR SOFM.
How can I read the text included on this document?
    Is very very urgent, please.
    Thanks and regards,
    Manuel Míguez.

    Hi Arghadip,
I see the attached document is on the Container, but is stored on a folder.
I have the data of the folder.
My doubt is how I can retrieve this data on a method of a task. The element is based on the BO SOFM and I can´t find the name of the fields.
    I´m using the statements
DATA attach            TYPE SWC_OBJECT OCCURS 0.
    swc_get_table   container  '_ATTACH_OBJECTS' attach.

  • Attach Document Object Services to a custom WD application(GOS)

    Hello Experts,
    Background:
We are developing a custom Web Dynpro application which would provide similar functionalities of SAP native transactions IE01/IE02/IE03.
In the SAP native transaction on the top left corner there is a button 'Service for Object'. In other terms it is called as GOS application through which user can attach multiple documents/notes related to that Equipment.
    Requirement:
My customer wants similar type of functionality to be included to the custom WD screens (IE01/IE02 and IE03).
The list of documents which user would attach through WD should display through SAP native tcodes (IE01/02/03) and vice versa.
Is there any SAP delivered WD component through which I can achive those functionalities by just having a UI development.
Or any other tips to achieve it ?
I try to find through existing blogs but unfortunately I could not find anything related to my requirement. As a last option I might go by a custom development with the help of CL_GOS* API's.
    Appreciate your <removed> response <removed by moderator>.
    Thanks
    RamKishore.

    Hi,
Did you try this FM SO_DOCUMENT_REPOSITORY_MANAGER, in WD? IF you have the Business Object for IE01, then you can make use of this FM.

  • OIM - Task Assignment Adapter - How to get the object instance key?

    Hello experts,
I'm trying to use a task assignment adapter to assign an approval task dynamically. Basically, the user can request a resource like "CustomApp Profiles" and we create an object form to let them choose the profile that he needs. Each profile has an owner, which is populate in a Lookup (Owner is the code and Profile is the decode).
So, in the approval task, I need to get the profile selected by user in the object form and search into the lookup who is the owner of that profile. But I don't know how can I get the object instance key using the parameters that can be mapped to a task assignment adapter.
Looking into the OIM documents, I believe that the easier way is using the request key, because the REQ_KEY is a foreign key in OBI table.
Did anyone knows how can I get the object instance key using the request key? Can I use some API or should I execute a SQL statement directly in OIM database?
    Best Regards,
    Nitto

To retry a task that is in a rejected state, you use the SCH_KEY which is the task key.  In OIM, all rejected tasks are listed in the OTI table.  It contains all the important information about a rejected or pending task.
You can use the APIs found in the tcProvisioningOperationsIntf class to retrieve open tasks.

  • PA30, attaching documents through the employee personal master dat

    Dear freinds,
We are attaching documents through the employee personal master data
PA30, Our client wants to know where exactly these attachments are
getting saved; Our SAP environment is ECC6.0 on AIX 5.3. so i exactly would like to know what is the exact path where these documents are getting saved on AIX machine.
I would appreciate if you can tell us where exactly these documents are
getting saved at OS level, any particular file system you think,
because I probed in but couldnu2019t find where exactly there are on the
    OS..
    Regards
    ayush

    hello,
SAP generally recommends that you store employee documents with a bar code. You can find the documentation to 'Storage Within Personnel Administration' using the following path:
=> Help => SAP Library => Human Resources => Personnel Management (PA)=> Personnel Administration (PA-PA) => Storage Within Personnel Administration (PA-PA)
In the SAP Standard it is not possible to tie original documents to specific personnel numbers in the PA30 transaction. The only exceptions are two specific scenarios where you can tie original documents in the PA30 transaction:
    1. late storing with bar code
    2. late storing without bar code
During both scenarios you start out in the Trx PA30. If the bar code entry is deactivated the actual key data will have to be transferred to the document in any case, otherwise you will be asked to enter a barcode again. Therefore the document would be transferred to the scanning location and then assigned to a specific business object.
Unfortunately it is NOT possible to upload a document directly into archive in the PA30 any other way.
Let me emphasize once more that PA30 can not be used for storing infotype specific documents. Via the special scenarios mentioned already by my colleague you are able to assign documents to the specific infotypes but the storing has to be completed outside of PA30.
Using the option Extras -> Assign facsimile in PA30 will be interpreted by the system as start for late scanning with barcode thus the error message.
    Hope this help
    Sarah

  • Confirmation by the external vendor: attaching document?

    Dear experts,
We are on an SRM 5.0 classic scenario.
We want to use the vendor role SAP_EC_BBP_VENDOR to give the external vendors the opportunity to confirm goods. One of the requirements is that they need to be able to attach documents. However, when using the transaction for the confirmation BBPCF01, we do not see any 'documents' tab. Is it possible to make this available?
    Regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
It's already there i can see in my system.
Hope you have done role assignment for your vendor user" SAP_EC_BBP_VENDOR" once you login with vendor id then left hand side you can see"  enter delivery/service" click that now you can click details button thee you find document button. if you couldn't find then let me know.
if it is solved  then points please

  • Attach document to KM Discussion

    Hi!
I would like to know if there is a way to attach documents to KM Discussions.
I'm migrating an application from MS Sharepoint Portal Server to SAP EP and this is a very strong requirement.
    Thanks in advance,
    Fede

    Hi Praveen,
First of all, thanks for your answer!
I've read the URL you gave and i've found something that worried me. It says "The repository attachment service is used by Collaboration to store attachments (documents) <b>for tasks.</b> ".
Is it only for Tasks? I need it for discussions...
I've navigated in my portal to System Administration => System Configuration => KM => CM => Repository Services
The only service I see there is "feedback". Do I have to create a new one?
I couldn't find any information at help.sap.com. Do you have more information about this?
    Tank you very much!!!
