"Attempting to copy to disk" error when syncing

I am having an issue with syncing my iPhone today. For some reason when I am syncing, when it gets to the point of the check "Finding Purchased Items", I get an error message stating "Attempting to copy to disk LAPTOP HARD DRIVE failed. You do not have enough access priviledges for this operation".
I checked the .xml files in iTunes and I do have all priviledges across the board, yet it is still coming up with the message.
It seems though that the sync is completing despite the error, it's just a bloody annoyance.
Any help would be appreciated.
Windows 7
iTunes 10.3.1.55
iOS 4.3.3

Never mind, problem solved... right click on iTunes, click run as admin. Problem solved!

Hard disk error when syncing

Hi Guys.
The other day the ipod had a hit on the floor, and since then im having problems with the hard drive when copying songs.
Im able to transfer some music to the ipod but when it reaches a bad sector, starts having issues copying the song.
When Itunes tries to sync, it takes a long time to copy a single song (ipod change status from Syncing/Connected) and it ends with a message error stating disk could not be read/written
I tried running the Diagnostic Mode. and the HD SMART Data shows
Realloc 9624 ( this number is growing after each sync)
Pending 216
Should I reformat the disk using HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool? Is this a valid way to fix the bad sectors?
What options do you suggest to fix the HD?

We have downloaded CD's to be downloaded to the IPOD, and have been successfull in the past. However, when this last download was done a windows message appeared stating, " Attempting to copy to the disk "(our file name)" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to. We have downloaded other CD's successfully, but got this message. Any help would be appreciated.

Never mind, problem solved... right click on iTunes, click run as admin. Problem solved!

No Disk error when syncing with iTunes

Whenever I sync my iPod Classic with iTunes, I get an error message saying "there is no disk in drive, please insert disk into drive E: (my dvd drive)". The sync succeeds, but I need to dismiss the message a few times. Has anyone seen this and know how to stop it?

the ipod works just fine and operates properly
it just does NOT whant to sync with itunes
I know I'm not the only one with this issue
there are many post in regard of this problem
I believe that this is a software issue and not a hardware

I had the same problem. And to think I actually HESITATED at installing the update. Oh wait... this happened AFTER the update. Funny how often that happens, eh? But I digress...
Anyway, I had two errors- initially the iPod stated my music library was somewhere else, and did I want to sync to that library. When I said yes, it reverted then to the "attempting to copy to disk"error. Further, iTunes showed that my iPod on the iTunes was EMPTY. However, my actual iPod hadn't lost any data. Confused yet? So am I.
*Last ditch effort- I went back in, and updated all my permissions, did a permission repair and then a permission verify.
* Also did a disk verify on the iPod to make sure it wasn't sick.
*I also drug a new song into my library.
*Changed from the USB plugin to the firewire. (Although I did this earlier in the day, and hadn't seen a noticeble change)
* Opened the bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. (should have done that a few hours ago)
When my first pop up asked about did I want to sync to the mystery persons library, I said yes. (At the worst, I have all my music and could reimport all 30G of it, if necessary.) And immediately, the sync began, and began appropriately. However, it IS re-syncing every single song I had on the iPod to begin with.
I suspect something nasty happened in the iTunes update, ever since the intel thing happened, the updates have been a bit sketchy. I really like Apple products, but I've gone through 3 iPods due to software meltdowns, and it's a bit frustrating.

I found the following information about that error message:
These messages occur if permissions are incorrect on your designated music folder or on a folder inside your designated music folder. Permissions are settings that determine who can read, write to, or execute a file or folder on your computer. Every file and folder on your hard disk has an associated set of permissions.

30gb Video error message "Attempting to copy to disk "Ipod" failed.

I have a 30gb ipod video and over the past day it is come up with this error message when I have tried to put songs from itunes into it. "Attempting to copy to disk "Ipod" failed. This disc could not be read from or written to". I've tried restarting it with no joy, I've evne tried resetting it back to it's factory settings now and nothing. I have a fire wire ipod.
I know the device is recognized by the PC because it shows up in "my computer" and I can see what is on the ipod.
When I try to update the songs in Itunes the Ipod is recognized but updates fail.
The error reads: "attempting to copy to disk "IPOD" Unknown error -69"
I try to run the IPOD update /restore software and that give an error also.
"IPOD Manager internal error" and then the window closes.
so after everything i went to check my ipod drive to see if there is any folders in it . this is all i got calander notes and contacts. tat is all i have and if i put files into my ipod folders. it can. but it jus cant transfer music over from itune. man im at my wit end

Right click the filename that won't download and selsct 'Get Info'. Look at the file path, does it have a //?// in it? That is a problem with Amazon downloads that prevent iTunes from finding the file. Use 'Add Folder' to add the album to your library and try syncing it again

Help with an Error "Attempting to copy to disk failed"

In the middle of udating my ipod, I receive an error message that states "Attempting to copy to disk failed. An unknown error occurred (-124)". I have tried the 5 R's and all I did was loose all the musice that was initially stored on the ipod....Does anyone have any idea how to fix this error....Any help would be appreciated.

I was using my iPod in cold weather the other night. The battery died and when it warmed back up the screen was in grayscale and it was in "disk mode". I have since restored it several times and am trying to sync it with iTunes. I keep getting an error message "Attempting to copy to disk failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation". The iPod was syncing just fine prior to the cold crash. I tried changing the permissions in my iTunes music library and xml file. Help?

First, reset the iPod
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320
and restart the Mac with the iPod connected; then try it again.
If that does not help, connect the iPod to the Mac. With iTunes not running, run Disk Utility. Does the iPod's hard drive appear in the Disk Utility sidebar? If so, select the iPod's DRIVE, not the volume indented under the drive, in the sidebar and go to the Erase tab. Set the format type to +Mac OS Extended (Journaled)+ and erase the iPod's drive.
If the erase completes successfully, quit Disk Utility and run iTunes. Immediately use the Restore button to install and initialize the iPod's software. You can then set it up and sync it as desired.
