Audigy 2 front I/O is

Hi guys, new guy here.
I am having an issue with my front I/O.
I have a SB Audigy 2 card (driver version?5.2.496) I connected the front I/O?to it, plugged my headphones in and no sound. I can hear a slight hum through the headphones so i am assuming the I/O is getting power. What have i done wrong? Am?I using the right drivers? Do i need other sofware? (i ran the auto update on the creative site and it showed me as being up-to-date).
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated as i am a n00b when it comes to these matters.
Thanks.

Hello, is this the place for an argument? Oh wait, that's a Monty Python skit, not real life. *ahem*
So what I'm hearing is that we're basically on our own. Is it that hard to answer a simple question like, "How do I completely uninstall ALL my SB Fatalty drivers and install brand new fresh ones from the internet, and in doing so, hopefully reset my I/O dri've?"
That's my question.
Cheers,
Phoenix

  • Audigy 2 card with Audigy Front Panel not worki

I've just bought a used audigy 2 card with an audigy front panel. I have installed everything and have sound from the card to my speakers.
The front panel has a blinking light on the optical out and when I plug headphones into the panel, I can hear static and control the volume of the static from the knob on the panel.
I can't hear anything else through the headphone jack and can't get any input signal using the line 2 input on the front panel.
Connections and drivers appear to be OK, am I missing something......
    Thanks,Dave.

    David,
If you go into the surround mixer or Windows mixer do you see a listing for the front panel inputs (line in2/mic in2, Aux 2, etc)? If so, are any of them muted? If you go to start/programs/Creative/SB Audigy/Audio HQ/Device Settings, do you show a headphone tab? If so what options are enabled in there?
Double check your ribbon cable connection and maybe even swap sides of the cable.

They should be compatible, but it wouldn't be officially supported. Should work the same as the other dri've though.

  • Audigy front panel (SB0010) driver.

    Hello
My current PC has an old SB0090 card that is working perfect under Windows 7 64 bits, but now i need to find the? .
    i hope someone can help..

    Flatline,
They are compatible with each other; however this is not an officially supported connection. This means that technical support will not be able to assist you directly (over email or phone) if you encounter problems. Best to get the retail version instead of those OEM since OEM card may have different revision.Message Edited by Jason-CL on 05-6-2005 02:2 PM

  • [Front FireWire Port] Audigy 2 SB1394 correct pinout nee

    Hello all,
I have a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 card (not ZS, not Platinum, just the original Audigy 2) with the IEEE394 internal port (SB394). There are 9 pins on it ( row of 5 and of 4) and I'm pretty sure I can connect the front FireWire port of my Antec SX040BII case to it. The Antec SX040BII FireWire cable consists of 6 individual connectors :
    VP = PowerVG = GroundTPA+ = Twisted Pair A Channel Positi'veTPA- = Twisted Pair A Channel Negati'veTPB+ = Twisted Pair B Channel Positi'veTPB- = Twisted Pair B Channel Negati've
Creative told me it was not possible and not intended for that purpose and suggested me to buy an expensi've Audigy front panel... Yeah right.
I know many users reported to have it hooked up successfully. But I've found so many different and contradictory layouts for that card in these forums and others that I don't know what to do now. Users with an Audigy 2 and an Antec case (preferrably the SX040BII) or Creative techs, could you please indicate me the EXACT pinout so I can hookup this front FireWire port to it ?
    As follow :
    Audigy 2 internal SB394
    [ 2 3 4 5]
    [6 7 8 9 ]

  • Audigy 1 to Audigy 2 - Cheapskate Quest

    Hi
I currently have an Audigy Platinum system in my PC replete with the 5.25 inch front panel.
Having looked at the front panel that comes with some of the Audigy 2 cards I see little difference between them. Can I just buy an Audigy 2 card and then plug my Audigy front panel into the new card?
This will save me some ?50 if I can.
    The Dark Side

    TheDarkSide,
Unfortunately the Audigy dri've is not compatible with the Audigy 2. There were changes made to the way that the dri've communicates and this requires the updated dri've.

  • 5.1 Not Working Audigy Plati

Two weeks ago, "5. / AC3" was working perfectly for my DVDs playing on computer. Now it doesn't and the Creative's "speaker test" pushes front speaker sound out the rear speakers and center and rear speaker sounds are greatly diminished (barely hear them).
The only things I changed were installed new Logitech Web Cam and hooking up a small mike mixer (battery / DC aux powered). Then, hooked up dynamic mike and acoustic guitar pickup to this mixer and then mixer "out" to Audigy Platinum mick jack on front of computer. Before I just had dynamic mike hooked to front Audigy front panel.
Did the 5. / AC3 stuff get zapped or something? Is there a way to better check. I tried the "6 channel" test file that Microsoft provides on their web site. Same results - front speakers pushed out rear and barely audible center and rear line out.
    Thanks for any help.

    Cat,
I followed the cleansweep uninstall and then did the full install from the CD. The install has frozen at 97%. It also looks like it has failed to write the uninstall files.
I have NOT quit the install yet. But, it has been three has since it has frozen. I'm afraid if I quit, then there will not be any listings in the ADD/REMOVE for me to uninstall and then start over.
    Help!

    Thanks.

    Hi
Beware of that addon Catherina pointed, since your card is OEM. If you ask Creative Technical Support, they might say, they don't know, if it works with your card!
I just got reply from Creative support and they statet they have nothing to do with OEM produts (see below).
If I were you, I would ask this matter from OEM card supplier, and not here.

    P.S.
I was asking from support if my Audigy 2 OEM card would be ASIO 24/96 compatible.
After several nonsense replies, they finally statet something I would not like to read eg. "Not all Creative cards are Creative cards"?
Here is the message I got from Creative Technical Support

  • Headphone and mic jacks do not work

I disabled the onboard audio drivers to install an Audigy 2ZS board in my new Dimension 900. Now the Dell factory installed mic and headphone jacks on the front of the computer do not work. I'm assuming thats because I disabled the onboard drivers? Any way to get them working with the 2ZS card? I understand that the mic and headphone jacks have cables that can be hooked to a card. Does the 2ZS support this kind of hookup?
    Thanks

    Hey everyone
It's very possible to connect your front jacks to Audigy. I'm currently using my headphones that way.
    Here is what you do:
. On top you audigy card
    <IMG src="http://images0.fotki.com/v203/photos//2786/2503093/CreativeAudigy2ZS-vi.jpg">
    2. Audigy pin assignments (connect you front panel cable to things marked in red)
    AUDIGY FRONT PANEL CONNECTIONS======================================= =========================
    - Analog Ground< 2 - Headphone Out (Left) 3 - Audio Backpanel Mute -- mute (ground) the backpanel when using headphones< 4 - Headphone Out (Right) 5 - same as #3< 6 - Mic Input 7 - key pin (shouldn't be there) 8 - VREF out -- voltage reference for Mic 9 - MIC IN MUTE -- ground when mic isn't plugged in, +2VDC when mic is plugged in0 - Audio cable detect -- will be ground when headphones are plugged in (not used)
I'm still working out the kinks. For instance, if you've ever had an Audigy Dri've (comes with Platinum and Pro version of Audigy), you know that when you plug in headphones, sound to speakers mutes and Creative Speaker Settings panel automatically switches to "Headphones". That was nice. I don't know if it's possible this way.
    Enjoy,
    Igor

  • Front panel of my Audigy 2 won't w

My front panel on my Audigy 2 won't work. I recently had to replace my motherboard and it won't work since then. It worked fine before. The mixer panel won't even give me the option of Line 2 and Auxilliary in, and my headphone jack won't work either. I don't think they're even getting power, though I'm not sure. I took the optical plug out to see if there was a red light showing, and there wasn't. The inputs and outputs from the back are operational.
I've read other threads on this and none of the solutions there have worked. I've re-connected cables, uninstalled and reinstalled hardware, and software. Still nothing. Only inputs from the back work. I recently had to replace my motherboard. I've tried updating drivers - nothing.
My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-K8NSC-939 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 250Gb ATX AMD Motherboard. My processor is AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice GHz FSB 52KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor. I run Windows XP with both service packs installed (same as with my old motherboard).
    Is my card broken?

There should be a light from the optical output as long as there is power to the dri've. Perhaps switch the power cable on that dri've with the cable that goes to your floppy, to see if that helps (in case the cable is faulty). It's possible otherwise that the dri've itself is broken.

  • Audigy 2 zs diagnostics: only front left & right sound on megaworks 550

When I test the speakers with creative thx console, creative diagnostics or spekaers settings, I can hear front left and right sound on my 5. system for EVERY channel that is tested. All the software is updated and speakers are connected in the right way.
If i try playing games, it's impossible to select eax sound.
Problems started when I've uninstalled drivers of my old SB PCI28 sound card after the installation of new audigy drivers. Before uninstalling pci28 drivers everything was working ok.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall all the software but nothing changed. HELP!!

You said you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, did you uninstall the drivers aswell then? Try a cleansweep, more details are in the FAQ.
If it's not letting you select EAX then it sounds like the card isn't installed correctly, or isn't recognised correctly. Check in Device Manager and see if there is any mention of the card there, and if there are any error messages/error codes.

  • Audigy 2 front panel: Aux-in 2 no longer wo

This is odd to me. I updated to Windows SP3 and it insisted on updating my realtek HD audio drivers which I had disabled. Upon restart they were reinitalized. I quickly turned them off, disabled, then uninstalled them.
I switched back to my Audigy 2 but my AUX-IN 2 no longer works, and no it's not muted. It's really frustrating since I have some multimedia streaming through those RCA's and I really need it.
I've tried to rip every audio driver out. I've reinstalled about 4 times. And it still doesn't work. I've tried old drivers, new drivers. No luck.
Do you think there could be some conflict inflicted by when both drivers were installed? Are there any apps to purge Realtek from my system? Does SP3 have something to do with it's? Please help!
Quick Edit: Everything else on the front panel works and the my cables are new. I bought them because I thought they were shot.
Message Edited by Spooty on 0-25-2008 02:3 PM

Thanks for the response. I've tried the program and it does work for the intended purpose; however, now I'm experiencing a new issue. Sometimes when Muvixer "kicks in" and changes the input back to my selection the computer will lock up. I'd say this occurs out of 25 times -- enough to make this a severe pain. The sound will freeze with repititous noises coming from the speakers and the computer will be completely non-responsi've. The only solution is to hard restart. I've got a fairly decent dual core rig @ 3.9ghz with a week-old reformat and clean Windows install, so I can only imagine this is an issue with the audigy.
    Any suggestions?

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro to front case ja

    Hello everybody!
Joined the forum to see if I could get this here question figured out. I've done a whole bunch of searching for the issue, stared at my card and manuals for... a long time... and cannot seem to come up with a solution.
I love Creative Labs, have just ordered an X-Fi Elite Pro and Gigaworks S750 to use on my new PC... and am turning my old PC into a lanparty machine of sorts, so I'd like to be able to use the front headphone/mic jacks without logging around the external I/O device.
I wish to simply connect my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro to the stereo headphone and mic jacks built into my case. The pins from the case are arranged in AC'97 form (a rectangle,) but are also split away from eachother, for use in whichever arrangement I need (this is what I assume I'll need to use.)
I have seen on many forums a white "J" port which can be customized and connected to... however, my Aud2 ZS PlatPro does not have this magical white connector. In fact, I see no connectors that would even appear to be helpful. All I have is a 5pin "Joystick" header, 4pin power connector, 4pin "AUX_IN", and 2pin "CD_SPDIF"
...Another option I thought might work for me would be to somehow connect the case pins into the 3.5 stereo jacks on the back of the soundcard... where the speakers would normally go! But how would I go about connecting those dangly female pins to the stereo jack? Simple wire soldering? Would I need fancier electronics?
Worst case scenario, I'd either have to A) use my mobo's onboard audio... B) get unlazy and reach around my case to plug in.
Thanks in advance for any light that can be shed on this subject!
    Ross Adam Baker

Well - apparantly, nobody know how to fix this...
Well, I did find a solution... custom made a cable that went from the rear 3.5mm stereo jack into the pin block from the side of the case. Works like a charm, both headphones and mic!
Just thought I'd give you all an update!
