Would it be possible to utilise the audigy 4's multi-channel outputs to run 2 stereo outputs running the same sound but different volume levels (low end monitoring one for the speakers, one for headphones) if anyone could clue me in on how to do this I'd be very greatful. Thanks everyone!:-)

  • Problem connecting Audigy to stereo recei

    Hi,
My system is a home built using XP home, SP2.
I'm trying to connect my Audigy sound car to my stereo receiver and also still have it connected to the desktop speakers. Bought a splitter and plugged it it into the line out jack and then plugged the desktop speaker wire into one output and the other into an rca splitter which I attached to the left and right wires from the receiver.
Problem is there is no sound on the right channel of the desktop speakers or the reciever.
Strange thing is if I unplug the wires leading to the receiver I get sound on both channels of the desktop speakers. If I plug the receiver back in I don't get sound on the right channel of either and if I unplug the desktop speakers I still don't get sound on the right channel of receiver.
Have tried different splitters and switching which side the speakers and receiver are plugged into with exactly the same results.
Any help appreciated. Have looked online and in the faqs and haven't found a solution.
    Francis

have you tried going directly from your soundcard directly into your reciever? if you're going stereo mini plug (tip/ring/sleeve, /8", stereo), out to dual rca directly into your reciever, you should be in good shape. give that a whirl and see what happens.

I also recieved a reply from medusa help and they said change the output channel in the software, any experts on creative audigy 2zs? clueless how t ochange output channels >,<

  • Vista 64-bit + Audigy = no spdif outp

    Hi,
Installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit yesterday and the drivers that autoupdate recommended, I can get my headphones to work but my surround system (that's digital only) cannot get a signal from my soundcard. Reading?on the forums I've come to understand there is no support for 64-bit Vista yet, when will we have a driver to enable SPDIF on this setup?J

Hi wap-90,?problem solved.:smileyvery-happy:?. download winrar2. unrar the complete driverpackage to an empty folder3. go to device manager and install the driver manually4. if you were ask where to find the drivers search in the folder where the packages has been unpacked. Takes a bit time to install the drivers, but it works fine for me?Thats it, works with my 64bit Vista system.brSoundser

  • Logic yet another complex issue?

    Hi all
I'm still struggling with the fact that Logic seems to be the exact opposite.
My Halion Player has multi stereo outputs yet they don't show up. Just one stereo output.
    What gives?
Any ideas?........I've trawled the manual (although it would be as useful if it were written in Chinese) and found nothing, this cannot be complicated, surely it can't, it has many outputs, where are they?
I'm giving myself a few more days of torture with this and then binning it in favour of going back to Cubase. Any ideas on this?
    G

Halion"s stereo output 1 is Halion's main out routed to the output of the channel strip that halion is on. On your aux channel, Halion 3-4 refers to Halion's stereo 2, Halion 5-6 refers to Halion's stereo 3, and so on.........
So for example, if you have piano, strings and guitar loaded in Halion and you want to route them to diff outputs.........
We'll route piano to Halions stereo 1 ( main out) In this case, do nothing.... the piano will be outputting on the channel strip that halion is inserted on, and you should see a signal on the level meters.
In Halion, route the strings to Halion's stereo 2.... On aux 1, select Halion 3-4 as the input. Dont change the output (leave it at output 1-2 for now). You should see the signal on meters of aux 1.
In Halion, route the guitar to Halion's stereo 3.... On aux 2, select Halion 5-6 as the input. Dont change the output (leave it at output 1-2 for now). You should see the signal on meters of aux 2.
You can of course change the outputs of all three channel strips also. So that you can route them to busses etc...
The output of the channel strip does NOT refer to Halion's own outputs.
The routing capabilities of logics internal mixer are very deep and complex. But once you get your head around it, many new possibilities open up and you'll begin to see the true power of this program.
    Cheers

  • Using Kontakt 4 as a plug-in, Logic Express sounds strange

I use Kontakt Player 4.1 as a standalone for GalaxyPianos and the sound is luscious and natural the keyboard plays like a Grand. When I use the same instance in Logic Express 9, it sounds cheap. The sound is flanged, it changes in quality from one note to the next. Not a huge amount mind you. Someone who was not a muso might say it sounds no different but it is very different.
I load everything as a standard, default new project with a software instrument, all default values. I have also tried loading mono, stereo, multi stereo etc and still it just doesn't sound right. What is produced by Kontakt as a standalone is way better than I am getting when it plays as a plug-in.
There are no load or latency issues but if I play a note the velocity seems noticeably lower in Logic than the stand alone. It almost sounds as though Logic is adding something to the sample.
    Any ideas?
    Logic Express 9.1.1
    Kontakt Player 4.1
    Galaxy Pianos II
Roland RD700GX USB direct to iMac

Aaaahhh, i see you have the same keyboard as I - the Roland RD700SX
make sure you have only 1 Layer button activated (let's say: upper 1). If you have selected all 4 layers, the RD700SX will output 4 notes at once (one for each active layer), and this may lead to crazy effects with Logic. So, press the "External" button on the RD700SX and de-activate "upper 2", "lower 1&2" or set them to different zones.
If you need the layers to trigger different instances of software instruments in Logic, make sure you have "auto demix by channel" activated in the logic MIDI recording preferences.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and Stereo PCM

#Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and Stereo PCM? Hi,
Have an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum here and I'm having issues with having no audio when inputting Stereo PCM over Optical Toslink. I tried using both default and internal decoder, but no audio at all. It only works when using passthru/bypass mode. Tried a bunch of stereo inputs and had no audio at all. Is Stereo PCM not supported or what here? The test input streams were PCM two channel 48khz 6bit and 20bit. And Dolby Pro Logic is listed in the decoder tab with Auto, On, or Off. But maybe that isn't the same as Dolby Pro Logic II and that is why there is no audio. Only seems to work with Passthru mode only.

  • Automation not working in multi output stereo?

I changed my stereo outputs into multi output stereo and noticed that the volume automation is not being read any more. All the volume levels are still moving up and down but the sound itself stays at the same level. I tried out what would happen if I set them back to normal stereo and yes, the automation works again. Why is this?

Have you tried opening the file in your browser to see if the bookmarks are working?  To open the file in your browser you need to do this:
    1) Launch your favorite browser;
    2) File >> Open >> Select your pdf file
See this picture to see what I am talking about.  You might need to click on it to magnify it:
    Good luck.

  • "Sound Blaster Audigy Fx" and stereo mix availability

If I buy/install the "Sound Blaster Audigy Fx" will it add the stereo mix option to my sound properties, also
does this card work on windows 8?
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/creative...&skuId=3287009

Re: Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio missing Stereo MixK I think I'm having a similar problem with my Windows 7 Professional system.
I'm am getting sound out of my card.
When I right click on the "speaker" icon in the task bar I see the following list of 5 options
    Volume Mixer
    Playback Devices
    Recording Devices
    Sounds
    Volume Control Options
However when I click on "playback devices", "Recording Devices" and "sounds" nothing comes up.
What I did do is completely uninstall all traces of any installed Creative software and in the device manager did an uninstall for the SB Xtreme Audio Card.
My recording device is the integrated microphone in the Logitech Quickcam/IM that I have installed. If I go to accessories and click on "sound recorder" it doesn't start up either.
The other issue that I see is that when I go into Control Panel and click on Sounds, nothing happens.
Something is definitely going on but I can't seem to track down the cause.

  • Sending a DIGITAL -Stereo- Signal from Audigy to HomeCinemaReceiver - Adapter nee

    Hello everybody,
I want to connect my Audigy 2 ZS to my HomeCinemaRecei'ver.
Therefor, I wanna use the digital out of the card.
But I don't want any multichannel signal, just oldschool Stereo.
(I already read the FAQs and so on, they just didn't fit my case)
This connection is only meant to be used for music, which has only 2 channels anyway.
So my question now is what of adapter plug I need for this job.
There's already a one "channel" chinch cable that goes from the
receiver to my computer. It has both male endings. (one plug each end)
One end of the adapter plug has to be a female chinch,
but how about the other one? Would a simple small jack plug be sufficiant?`
I really hope you can help me,
for I've searched all the net for weeks now,
    without finding any helpful information.
    Thanks and Greetings,
    Matthias

There're two ways to connect it. One is through the digital output ( which is the same as the front line out on the Audigy and is a different jack on the Audigy 2 series ) or through the front line out.
In either case, you need a stereo mini-plug to phono x 2 connector adapter cable.
In the case of a digital connection, only one of the plugs will carry the signal. For analogue connections, simply plug the two phono outputs into the L/R phono inputs on yer receiver.

  • Multi-Channel (more than stereo) Audio Editing

Hi, is there a way of setting Audition, to when opening multi-channel WAVs, to open them all in one display?
Currently, if you open a stereo WAV, you get both channels visible so you can edit both channels as one.
However, if you open a 5.1 WAV, you get six separate mono WAV files listed.
This is a bit of a serious challenge to me as I'm trying to edit some surround SFX!

I'm afraid that currently, Audition is two channels per track max. I have no idea whether this will change in the future - a lot of other DAWs these days can certainly cope with more than two channels per track - I think Reaper does, for instance.

  • Audigy 4 and standard stereo speakers... how

I have an Audigy 4 card and I'd like to get my pc sound to go through my standard home stereo speakers. What do I have to do to get this to work? I'm a sound system newbie. Is there a particular jack on my stereo that I should be looking for that would connect to the sound card?

    Cable:
(stereo) Mini jack plug to 2 RCA (L/R) cable.
    Connection:
Soundcard:Line-Out # --> (depending on stereo system but) Stereo:Aux-In should be OK.

  • GD580 + Audigy 2 ZS + Digital Out 5.1 = only stereo

Alright, I didn't think this would be so complicated, but maybe it is. I just purchased a Creative Inspire GD580 5.1 surround speaker setup. I have an Audigy 2 ZS PCI sound card. I want to connect the digitial out to my speaker setup using the digital out on my Audigy 2 ZS. My main reason for the surround setup is for gaming. So far I have only been able to get stereo sound with both gaming AND DVD movies.
Anyone who can enlighten me on how to do this, I would be very grateful.
    Thanks!

Optical and digital coax connections can't carry multichannel audio, only stereo. The only way to get multichannel via digital is if it is an AC3 bitstream. Creative also use a 4-pole connector that can carry multichannel digital but your speakers must have a digital DIN connection to use this feature. Otherwise for games, you must use the analogue connections. For your movies, you can use your digital connection, but you must select SPDIF output in the DVD software and select SPDIF pass through in the soundcard options. This way your speakers will decode the AC3 bitstream.
You might want to look at this: http://us.creative.com/support/kb/ar...p?l=2&sid=5035
A suggestion to Creative moderators: I think it would be a good idea for Creative to supply a guide with the sound cards and speakers on the various types of connections. Stuff like the capabilities/limitations of each connection and details on AC3 and the way games output audio. There seems to be so many people confused by the multitude of connection possibilities (I was at first).

  • The quickest way to create multi clips?? for stereo test

I'm on location. Want to test a stereo camera setup. I've never worked with multi-clips before. I don't have the time to study the manual till I figure out how multi clips work.
Is there an 'easy' way for me to create a multi-clip setup using the two (already captured) Quicktime clips (eye A, eye B).
I'm thinking that if I can expand the viewer window I'll get a big enough view of both images 'eyes' for the director to be able to see the stereo effect. The director is an expert at 'eye-crossing' to see how the different variations on the paralax or 'toe-in' might be working (or not).
So I'd be most appreciative of a 1,2,3 description of how I could set up the multi-clips to be able to do this.
    Ben

I assume you already have the clips in a format that Final Cut can use.
File:Import to bring in the two clips. Double click each one to bring into the viewer ( one at a time), and set In point ( assuming that they both are time synced).
They command click each clip and once they are selected, ctl click brings up a menu where you can select multiclip.
You have a setup window, choose align by In.
You now have a multiclip item, drag to the viewer to see both.
