Audio in .fla (flash 8)

For some reason, when I add audio to my timeline and go to
scrub it, I can't hear it, yet when I publish the .swf, it plays
just fine.
I've tried other piece of audio to no avail also.
Only thing I can think of, is to re-install Flash 8, but was
looking for other suggestions first.

If you'd checked your Flash Help files, you'd have found your
answer more quickly than posting on a forum. Anyway, here it is:
change the audio properties to "Stream". Then you'll be able to
scrub the sound.
Try the Help files for future problems first.

  • Recording video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http.

As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?
What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server. Afterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?
How can I redirect the http request to the files I was recorded into my applications/appName folder? Or I need to somehow moved the recorded files to the /webroot folder?
    Thanks!

I probably have asked a stupid question.
My recorded streams are still saved in the applications/appName/streams folder.
And I redirect the www.mydomain.com/streams to point to the applications/appName/streams folder.
And the rmtp recorded streams are abled to connect through http now.

  • The audio on my flash player no longer works; audio on non-flash applications still works.

Overnight, the audio on my flash player stopped working. I am not sure when this happened or what caused it. The audio on non-flash items works just fine. I have tried all the troubleshooting solutions and none have fixed the problem. I even uninstalled and re-installed flash player. Flash player seems to be working correctly in all other aspects. I have tried other browsers, but the problem exists there, too. Have any ideas about what the problem could be? Thanks.

    It won't going forward.

  • Embedded Audio not playing - Flash Player 10.0.45.2

    Hi
With the recent update of the Flash player I noticed that random *.swf files containing just embedded *.wav files will not play.
    The only things that seem to fix this problem are;
Change the audio publish settings and republish
Or createa new *.fla and republish
Can anyone explain why this is happening? Is this bug temporary?
    Thanks,
    Joseph

Hi, the Flash forum was down in my area. Here is a link that you may just bookmark as it most likely have everything FP, just something to keep handy:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_admin_guide.html
This is the FP Installer for Internet Explorer that you download to and run from your Desktop:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe   (Not the debugger version)
This is the FP Installer for Firefox(or other browsers that FP supports) Download to the Desktop & run from there.
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
When that Uninstaller was used for the 10.1, if I'm not mistaken it Uninstalls FP from all browsers.
I'm sure you are familiar with the ActiveX Settings and using the Administrator account to have the permissions to Install the ActiveX Control and write to the Windows Registry. Adblock in FF will need to be disabled if you use it and any pop up blocker software installed. You may want to refer to the Uninstall instructions for further info:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
You may also want to review the Troubleshooting guide to head off any issues before rather than after:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
Usually I cover the "prep" info but since we didn't discuss that, thot I'd post it, so if you need it you have it.
If you have any questions, just post. If you want the debugger version, I'll need to find the link.
    Thanks,

  • Audio problems in Flash Player and Firefox

    Hi everyone!
I have a problem that has been plagueing me for nearly a year now, all audio in all videos i play in Firefox goes out of synch, the video will start ok then at around the two minute mark the audio starts to lag until it's completely left the visual playback behind, the only solution is to keep clicking the video back a few seconds to re-align the audio, this is temp as the audio will slowly drop out of synch again!
This problem has been driving me crazy!
It doesn't happen in Chrome or IE only Firefox. I have posted thread after thread on tech forums but nobody has yet been been able to help, i'm using the latest Firefox. the latest Flash Player (uninstalled and re-installed properly) all my drivers are bang up to date, all caches cleared all....in fact you name it iv'e done it!
This was never an issue until about a year ago, nothing has been installed hardware wise and the only software installed has been updates for ongoing programmes!
Help me Adobey wan kenobi, your my only hope!

    Hi Chris,
Hardware acceleration on or off makes absolutely no difference, i recently tried watching videos in a 100% fresh install and new profile in firefox (no addons) and the problem still occurs albiet a little slower in the new install, ie it takes a little longer to drop out of synch.
There is a noticeable difference in framerate just before the problem occurs, like a very tiny hiccup, from that point on the audio gets left further and further behind, it's remedied by clicking back a few seconds on the video play bar but this is only temporary, lately i've even noticed it happening with live streams from the BBC, once again i must stress, this doesn't happen in Chrome or Opera or IE.

  • How to load a audio stream in flash lite 3.0

    var music:Sound = new Sound();
    music.loadSound("http://38.101.195.5:8000;Stream.mp3",true);
I am not able to load the stream.
Please help me to play the stream

    Hello kkc_mca.
As I know, unlike desktop PC player, there is no progressive load capability with Flash Lite.
May be there is one option for FL3 is to stream a mp3 from Flash media server or compatible server. You might also be able to use the FL2 video object to stream audio only 3gp or aac audio from RTSP server.
I can not say this is proper way but hope you will be succeed.

  • HOW TO FIX NO AUDIO PROBLEM IN FLASH (4 SOLUTIONS)

This solution is for WINDOWS ONLY!!! Unfortunately I believe
it is a bug in flash itself as I have read more than one instance
of this same no audio problem occuring on MAC'S and LINUX based
systems as well. IF YOU KNOW OF SOLUTIONS TO THE MAC OR LINUX BASED
PROBLEMS, PLEASE POST THEM IN THIS THREAD.
Description of the problem: Video sites such as YouTube,
VideoSift, Break, Google Videos, Yahoo, and a plethora of others do
not stream embedded audio. Viewing a YouTube video, for example, on
VideoSift.com results in the video playing back with no audio.
However, by going directly to YouTube and playing back the same
    video, it appears to work.
    THERE ARE SEVERAL POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.
Problem: You may be missing your WAVEMAPPER driver.
Cause: Wavemapper driver was removed during installation or
updating of the Flash Player. It might not necessarily be Flash
that removes it but apparently something does.
Solution #1: Google "Flash No Audio WAVEMAPPER" for
directions, its been covered a bunch, but basically requires
running REGEDIT and readding the WAVEMAPPER key to the appropriate
location and value in the registry. Its not as difficult as it
    sounds.
    http://weyland.be/wrdprss/index.php/2006/08/22/no-sound-in-macromedia-flash-player-9/
if your wavemapper key is installed correctly...
Possible Cause: Corrupted or damaged flash content preventing
    audio streaming from working correctly.
Soltuion #2: Run CC Cleaner and delete only cached Flash
content. It is a free program, again just google "download CC
Cleaner". This particular solution worked for me.
If CC Cleaner also does not work, the description of your
problem may differ slightly. In my case on several computers, one
day it worked, the next day it didnt. If it never worked, this
would be a logical solution for you. One variation of this that I
have found is to create a new Windows User Account and log into it.
The reason the CC Cleaner method may work better is that the User
Accounts have their own separate cache folders so a corrupted cache
preventing audio playback on one profile will not be available on
the other User Account to cause the same problem. I wont explain
how to do this as the CC Cleaner will work better but if you are
curious, yet again google "create new windows user accounts". I
have also seen this method work on one of my affected computers but
it did not fix the issue on the account I was having problems with.
    http://www.ccleaner.com Install
and run it, use it only to remove Flash under the Applications Tab,
Multimedia, Adobe Flash Player. Check it and uncheck everything
else, then hit Analyze then Run Cleaner.
    Possible Cause: Missing Codec
Solution #2: Download and install the K-Lite Codec pack.
Again, google it. A CODEC stands for COmpressor DECompressor and is
a way to make audio and video files small enough to be transferred
on the internet. There are a lot of different codecs and if you
want to play back a video that was compressed using a particular
codec, you will need that same corresponding codec to decompress
your media source and view its content. Basically if you dont have
a codec, you cant observe the content of the media. If you have a
VCR and want to play back a DVD, you are out of luck unless you get
a DVD Player. DivX and XVid Codecs are some of the very popular
codecs used on the net, but to get those, I still suggest getting
    the K-Lite Codec Pack.
    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
Solution #4: Go back to Flash 7. If it aint broke dont fix
it. This Final alternative is only to be used as a last resort.
You'll have to get rid of Flash 9 and go back to Flash 7. The
really tricky part here is that you have to prevent Flash from auto
updating itself. If you install Flash 7, and hit up YouTube, you'll
immediately get Flash 9+ installed again with the same problems. So
AFTER you uninstall Flash 9 (use Macromedias / Adobes uninstaller,
yet again go google it) make a new text file and name it MMS.CFG,
in the file put this one line "AutoUpdateDisable=1" (without the
quotes) and put it in BOTH your c:\windows\system32 AND
c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash folders. This will prevent flash
from Auto Updating to 9+, then have to find some place to download
the old flash 7 installer. I found one here.
    http://www.intercomm.com/downloads/Flash7.
Only problem is that most sites will try to make you install Flash
9 and Flash 7 does not work on all sites, but it does on some like
YouTube. DO NOT UPDATE TO FLASH 9+ IF YOU USE THIS METHOD.
You will probably want to IMMEDIATELY go to
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager05.htm l
after installing Flash 7 and UNCHECK the update feature
I've tried to write this quick little guide at 3AM so Im not
going to take more time to research other ways to fix this problem.
If you have other solutions, such as for MAC and LINUX, or feel
like adding on to something else that I've written here (links
would be useful to the downloads I suggested) or correcting any
mistakes I probably have made, please say so.
One of these solutions is bound to help you. Theres multiple
causes for this no audio problem so there is obviously multiple
    fixes.

  • (2ndPost) Problems opening a .fla (flash) file.

I was sent a link via email to download an .fla file. When it was downloading it said that the file may contain an application. Then when I check the file info, it says open with flashplayer (but the icon is older looking). I have updated my flashplayer but it wont open it either....
I removed an older version of flash player from my computer and the file tried to open.
    this is what I saw:
*! You are opening the application "start" for the first time. Are you sure you want to open this application?*
The application is in a foler namer "ENU". To see the application in the finder without opening it, click Show Application.
-so I clicked show application and I saw a swf file and a flashplayer app named "start" version 7r14
    im so lost...
I just want to open it, add sound and resend it with my revisions
    can any one help?
also when I click "Open" instead of "Show Application", I see and the older flash icon and then my screen goes dark blue. The only way out is to commandoptionesc.

Telling me to go to wiki is kinda rude. Although Wiki has some valuable info, it is sometime incorrect and therefore unreliable and unusable just as you answer was.
I don't know that Wikipedia is any more unreliable than your asking on a discussion list populated by total strangers and anybody can post here... (though I must say that both Wikipedia and this discussion forum have a fairly high level of commitment and quality considering both are conducted by self-assigned volunteers). If you're desperate to get your own paid employment assignment done by the weekend and are worried about reliability then consider hiring a Flash programmer.

  • Playing streamed MP4 audio in a Flash movie

Is anyone aware of an xtra/extension for Flash that would
enable a flash movie to play files save in the mpeg-4 audio (mpa4,
mp4) format? I'm looking at flash-based podcast players, and one I
found said that it can't play podcasts published in mp4 format
because flash player 8 doesn't support it.
I thought though that maybe there would be a 3rd party
xtension or something that would enable it to play those
    podcasts.

Flash does not have any extension or plugins, never had.

  • Streaming live audio in a flash movie

Hi, I'm working on a website for a local radio station, and I
want to be able to stream a live audio feed of the radio station to
a flash movie. Right now all I really know is that the URL to get
    this live feed is
    http://kpacradio.pacific.edu:8000
    - if you put that into Windows Media Player it will start the radio
broadcast. Is it possible to play this through flash so that the
user can just stream it from a website rather than having to
introduce windows media player into it? Thanks a lot.
    David

No. The Flashplayer can't connect to a windows media
serverYou'd need to capture the stream and republish to FMS, or
broadcast directly to FMS instead of WMS.

  • How best to boost the audio in a Flash file?

I haev a Flash file where the audio is low volume. I would
like to boost the volume level in the file.
    1. Is there an editor that would allow me to do this? The
only guidance I have found so far from Adobe is to create a new
file and adjust the scripting characteristics, which I'd prefer not
    to do.
    2. I have several good sound editors. Would one option be to
export the sound track, improve its volume, and then import the
improved sound track back into Flash?
    3. Is it better to export the Flash file to some other format
in order to get better audio editing capability?
    Thank you,
    Joyce

I'd opt for 2: fix up the audio track in an external sound
editor and then reimport it into Flash.

  • Streaming audio problems with flash 11

Win XP Pro, 32 bit, IE 8 and Chrome 19: Flash 10 would stop (iheart radio) 4-5 times with a "streaming error".  Iheart suggested upgrading flash to version 11.  Since then, audio quality has gone down - echos, reverbs, slows, skips - sounds like an old 8 track tape!  Attempts to remove flash 11 have failed - it just comes back.  I followed the steps at adobe help, it still comes back.  Tried updating audio drivers (intel 82801AA) - no change.  Tried installing archived version 10 - flash still reports version 11.  This thing is stickier than peanut butter on a hot day in a glue factory!  Can anyone help - this is driving me craaazzzzyyyy.

I'm sorry you've run into this audio bug.  Please see this FAQ for instructions on reverting to a previous version of Flash Player.
How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player?

  • Importing audio into Adobe Flash Pro CS5.5

Every time I try to import any audio into Flash an error appears, I've tried any kind of file, mp3, WAV, M4A, nothing happens. I've seen some of the same questions here and everyone says I just have to put it through Audacity, but I made the files in Audacity and I've tried putting other files in Audacity but nothing helps. If you have any answer I would very much appreciate it.

that's usually a bitrate problem.  change the bitrate to 44.1

When the video plays, down where the time counter displays, it shows the words NO AUDIO. I need audio for my school presentations. Ive even contacted tech support at my school n they see no problems on their end. Other students are having no audio issues. • Audio Player in Flash

Hi, I'm very new to flash and am using CS3 and actionscript
    3.
My knowledge of actionscript and flash in very basic (making
FLV players and getting video to stream is all I know how to do at
this stage). I know how to make flv players in flash using
components or how to alter skin files to change how a player looks.
What I want to do now is make an MP3 player in flash also but
I am finding it really frustrating to find information on how to do
this with components or actionscript 3. I would have thought the
process was similar to getting streaming video to work and that you
just bring your mp3 file the stage and then use FLV video componets
to link to it but i can't seem to work out a way to do this as the
mp3 doesn't physically appear on the stage (like the FLV files do)
but goes into the timeline and this gets me confused.
Is it not possible to make an MP3 player in flash along those
    lines?
I want my player to play one MP3 file (needs to stream
somehow as long/big files) and I want it to have a play/pause
button, stop button and a seek bar so listeners know where they are
at in the track and can jump or go back to different parts
easily.... [having the seek bar to have a progress line (so you
know how much of the audio has streamed though to) would be even
better -but I don't want to confuse myself too much just yet)
Is someone able to help me by maybe pointing me towards a
good tutorial or info online I cud access or possibly a book I cud
use? (I have Flash CS3 The Missing Manual & Flash CS3 but have
not found them very useful in this regard). Is what I am wanting to
    do actually possible?
Any help or feedback would be appreciated.

If I'm in the wrong place asking this question can anyone direct me to the proper place to ask where I will encounter someone with a solution? Thank you.
