Audio to dolby digital surround AC3

Regards,
I have one test sequence in FCP,,, left channel is sound, and right is speech,, then exported separately to two mono channels,,, named SOUND and SPEECH,, I can hear each channel nice after that,,
But, when I make AC3 file with compressor, I have problem.
Can somebody tell me where I make mistake??
With compressor I make New Job With Surround sound group,, then select for every channel one mono channel, from FCP, specifically; L - speech, C-sound, R -speech, Ls -sound, Rs-sound ,,,
after select File format,, Dolby digital Professional,, Target sistem is DVD video,,,, Audio coding mode is 3/2,,, In Preprocessing, compression presset is NONE,, after submit this I have AC3 file, and when I make DVD and looking in my home dolby digital system I hear completely diferent disposition,, L - Sound, C-sound, R-speech (very quiet) Ls- sound, Rs-speech,
I was trying and different setup, but I cannot acquire adequate setup,, before I was using AC3 encoder (FCP 4.5), and everything was perfect,
Thanks,

  • KDL 55W800C Android TV apps not getting 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound

Just bought KDL-55W800C Android TV few days ago. Everything is great except the DD 5.1 surround. I am using optical audio out to a STR-KS360 receiver. I get 5.1 with Telus Cisco CIS430 PVR connected to TV no problem. But when I tried Netflix, Play Movies and USB test MP4 on the TV. They are coming through as 2.0 only. BD connected to TV also only come through as 2.0 only while BD connected to receiver gives 5.1. Is this a known problem? There seem to be similar threads on other models. E.g. https://community.sony.com/t5/4K-Ultra-HD-TV/XBR-75X850C-Netflix-Amazon-dolby-digital-5-1-channel-support/m-p/509054/highlight/true#M4168

That sounds more logical, however, Apple and Netflix are pointing at each other.
The player needs to be compatible with Dolby Digital Plus, so that would ultimately put the responsibility on Apple. However, DDP for streaming 5.1 surround sound from the Internet is relatively new, so it doesn't surprise me that the ATV doesn't currently support it, but I would expect Apple to release a software update for it at some point.

  • No DVD Dolby Digital surround sound in media player or media center in Windows 7

I mirrored my working config from my Vista 32 bit install into my Windows 7 64 bit install and a Windows 7 32 bit install, but can't get the Dolby Digital SPDIF coax output to work (just get static) in my Windows 7 install when playing a DVD.
    Notes:
    - Both Vista and Windows 7 are on the same PC, but on different partitions of the same hard drive.
    - standard stereo output works fine in Windows 7
    - Dolby Digital and DTS do work in Windows 7, but only in the Sound config window, not in any program.
I have the latest Creative Audigy 2 ZS Soundblaster Windows 7 drivers installed (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series driver 2.18.0011).
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the Dolby Digital / DTS output to work Windows 7 when playing a DVD?

  • Audio lag (dolby digital) and reciev

I'm noticing a very brief lag in the audio for my Audigy 2 Platinum Pro, and I'm just wondering, is this to be expected in all recievers? When I say recievers, I mean devices like the Platinum Pro and external recievers used in home theater systems. Do all Dolby Digital decoders have some sort of delay in any circumstance?

Well, in particular the problem that I have is related to playing the XBox with the optical audio support. But since the audio is streamed and there is no way really of 'preloading' a sound, it takes a second, for example, for the audio to kick in when I shoot a gun. My question is, is this to be expected on ALL home theater systems?

  • Dolby Digital Surround Sound dropping out with channel chang

Currently I have my cable box hooked up to my extrenal I/O box for my Audigy Platinum Pro ZS2 via my cable boxes SPDIF optical out to the I/O boxes optical in. With my initial set up I went to the AudioHQ and changed my Device Controls/Digital Input controls to SPDIF (Dolby Digital/DTS SPDIF-In Decode) and I had beautiful surround sound, but the only problem is that when I change the channel I lose all sound and I have to go back to the AudioHQ controls and change the Digital Input setting back to the (Default) setting and then change it back to the SPDIFDolby digital....etc, and then the sound comes back. So why is it that whenever I change the channel I lose my optical connection?and sound?and have to reset my Digital Input settings in order to get the sound back?Somebody please help...thanks. Jacob

  • Question about Tritton AX 720 Dolby Digital Surround Gaming Headset

Hello, I have a question about the AX 720 that I hope someone can answer. I emailed Tritton and I'm not sure they understood what I was asking, so Ill try here. Ok, my question is this, Will I get audio through the headset if my set up is this: My X-BOX 360, my PS3 , and my Direct TV box are all hooked up to my TV via HDMI. My TV has an optical audio output, so if I hook up the AX 720's amp to my TV with the optical cable will I get the audio that is coming from that output into my headset? I'm using the Tritton AX 180's now hooked up almost exactly the same, except instead of the optical out, I'm using the red and white out that is right next to the optical out, and it works perfect. I get full audio from all 3, and the only time I have to change any cables is when I want to chat, but thats rare. I'm looking to upgrade to the 720 because I'm on my 3rd set of broken AX 180's. Ive read several reviews about the 720's and a few of them said that if your TV has an optical output that you can use that, and I hope its true. I hope this question makes sense, and thanks in advance for the help.

@Rockadile: You are totally right about the AX 180's breaking, like I said Im on my 3rd set. Thankfully for the first break it was within the return period, then I made sure to buy the warranty when I got the second. Now that the 3rd has broken in the same exact place Im done with these. The problem is my heads big (wide), and because of this theres extra pressure on the plastic piece that connects to the ear piece. I had to make a custom metal bracket to fix it. What I did was take 2 pieces of flat metal and bent them into the shape and angle of the plastic that attaches the earpiece, then I electrical taped them VERY tight. So basically instead of the plastic getting the stress, the metal does. And it worked great up until now, its breaking just below the adjustable part where the plastic goes into top of the headset. I looked at the AX 720's and it seems like there alot wider and stronger in that area. But if I do get them I will be sure to buy the replacement warranty. Sucks having a big head!

  • G510 Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio doesnt work driver problem with Windows 8.1

    Hi,
    my Lenovo G510 has Windows 8.1 64-bit.
In the system menue of Hardware and Sound I can see two entries:
    1) Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio
    2) Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio (32-bit)
Clicking on the first entry a control panel appears. Does this mean that Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio is always running in the backround? There is no entry in the systray.
Clicking on the second entry this error message appears:
Your current installed version is 7.3.2.2 of the Dolby Digital Plus audio driver. The software needs the driver version 7.5.1.1. Installe a correct combination of driver and software.
What to do with this? I searched for a solution and drivers but couldn´t find anything.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Dolby Digital Settings

With my system, if Dolby Digital is set to "On" in settings, I don't get any sound at all from Rented or Purchased movies from iTunes - however, I do get sound from Netflix, Youtube, iTunes music, etc.
Sound works in iTunes material if Dolby Digital is set to "Off" or "Auto."
I'm worried, however, that if a Movie is Streaming with Dolby Digital, the sound should be working when the Audio Setting is "On."  Am I just getting stereo audio if the Dolby Digital setting is "Auto?"
Currently I am only running the HDMI Cable to the TV - no Optical Audio out or anything.
    John

I think it's probably similar to my issue here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17926593#17926593
Rentals generally have either 1 or 2 audio tracks.
The first is stereo (occasionally mono), the second is the dolby digital surround.
I connect to the TV via HDMI and to the surround processor via optical.
In the past I'm sure I've managed to have sound from the TV (HDMI) or surround processor (optical Dolby Digital simultaneously).
I think what currently happens is this:
AppleTV 'talks' to the HDMI device and ascertains what it can support.  Most TVs will not be able to decode Dolby Digital over HDMI.  Receivers/amps with DD capability will.
So when the TV is connected via HDMI, and DD is set to off or Auto the TV gets the stereo feed (Auto selecting stereo as TV can't handle DD).
If however DD is set to On this forces DD through HDMI but the TV doesn't know what to do with it.
So in my situation I can either have it set for stereo audio over HDMI (Off or Auto) and optical, or DD over both (DD set to On.
Clearly I want the stereo track to go to the TV over HDMI and DD over optical (falling back to stereo if no DD track) so I don't have to fiddle in Settings each time I choose to listen through TV vs surround system.

  • Dolby Digital Editing

OK-I have a project in which I am trying to take advatage of Dolby Digital in FCP 5; export the audio and video and put it on DVD. I have a 6 speaker bose system that is contected to my video deck to monitor sound. The video deck is conected to the MAC via firewire (It Works). In my FCP project I have added 12 output chanels assuming that they corespond as follows...(Please let me know if this in incorrect in any way)
    A1-A4: Left and Right Speakers
A5-A8: Left and Right Rear Speakers
    A9 & A10: Center Speaker
    A11 & 12: Sub Wooofer
According to the manual, I can export the audio to dolby digital using Compressor 2 thru FCP 5. The audio tracks are mono and according to Compresor 2 manual I am suppose to assign channel identifier codes. How can I do this hence I can not figure it out! Should I make my tracks stereo? If I do and export the project using Compressor 2, will the channels corespond to the output hardware (spearkers) automaticlly? Help...
        FCP Studio 5.1.2

firewire will only pass two channels of audio to a deck for monitoring.
Your computer/deck/bose setup lacks any encoding/decoding. It won't do it. If you expect to get the bose to monitor surround when only fed a two channel input, it has to be pre-encoded into dolby prologic.
What you need is to mix down your A1-A4 to two separate mono tracks for L & R. Mix down A5-A8 to two separate mono tracks for LS & RS. Mix A9 & A10 to a single mono track for Center, and mix A11 & A12 to a single mono track for the sub.
Compressor is not a mixing utility. You can feed it 6 tracks and it will compress them to a Dolby Digital file. It can't mix levels and mix 4 files together into one. It compresses them, sews them together, and gives you a file.
That file can't be edited anymore. It's a delivery format.
If you want to do 5.1, you need to mix your audio into 6 separate tracks somewhere other than Compressor. FCP doesn't really do it either. STP could, by using busses. ProTools is better at it. Cubase will do it. Deck will do it.

  • Dolby Digital Auto Setting Doesn't Work w/4.4.2?

I have a bunch of old movies that were recorded in stereo, pre-Dolby, and of course, a bunch of newer in Dolby Digital.  After upgrading to Apple TV iOS 4.4.2 yesterday, I now find that the Settings/Audio & Video/Dolby Digital/Auto setting no longer works.
I just started a new iTunes downloaded movie with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and noticed that it was playing in PCM stereo-only mode for some reason.  I then tried a couple of other older iTunes downloaded movies with 5.1 sound, and they all were playing in the same old PCM stereo mode, as well.  To get the new movie to play in 5.1 sound, I had to manually change the above Dolby Digital setting to ON.
A similar issue applies to older movies in pre-Dolby stereo.  If the above setting is set to Dolby Digital ON, those older movies switch from normal stereo to Dolby Digital 1.0/Center channel only sound, so I have to either switch the Dolby Digital setting to OFF or back to Auto, which defaults to PCM stereo for everything now.
Is anyone else experiencing this change?  The Auto function worked perfectly for me before this upgrade.
I'm using an Apple TV 2 with an optical connection to my audio amplifier.  The movie is streaming over my wired gigabit Ethernet home network from my iMac.

Seems to be an issue for some of us since 4.4; see other thread.

  • Dolby digital through HDMI

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro with retina display. I'm trying to get Dolby digital through the hdmi port and after comparing some media attached to my receiver the same movie was Dolby digital on my WDTV and using the same cable was stereo connected to my MacBook Pro.
I'm not sure if its a setting or an atypical apple thing like they did with the digital stereo connection in headphone jack using a mini fiber optic cable (phoslink).
I suppose if I want to hear Dolby digital out of my Mac,  I wondering if I need a thunderbolt to hdmi to get what I want. Dolby digital through HDMI is an industry standard!

After talking to three levels of support, I finally was told the new Macbook Pros (with Retina display) are NOT capable of producing Dolby digital through the HDMI port.  They only do digital stereo.
In order to produce up to 8 channels of Dolby digital surround sound you must use an additional toslink cable, which is a mini fiber optic, found cheap at Monoprice!
Just for the record, the expensive Thundebolt to HDMI or mini Display port to HDMI only do stereo too.  Not a big deal for most, but upsetting if you're expecting a HDMI to function as it does in any other piece of equiptment!!

  • Clipping with dolby digital through sp

whenever i use DD though spdif either from an outside source (xbox 360) or from the pc itself (software dvd player) i get clipping. it's as if the DD stream is too loud. is there a way to lower the volume for the DD stream? i've tried lowering the "spdif in" volume control but it becomes frozen when ever an?outside?spdif source (360) is being used and it has no effect on the spdif source?from the pc (software dvd player). when the volume control is frozen the must button is activated but obviously the?volume is not muted.

  • What GAMES Are Encoded With Dolby Digital Surrou

I'm trying to find some games to play which have Dolby Digital Surround encoded in their code.

There are NO games encoded with Dolby Digital Surround. At least none that I am aware of. You need a sound card that performs Dolby Digital Encoding, and Creative Labs does not producr such a sound card, although they ave just release an external device that has 5. analog inputs and will encode that into Dolby Digital Surround format. Why they did that instead of putting on the sound card, I do not know or understand.
