Audio Track reverts to Default for 7.0 Theme Vintage Vinyl

I recently put together a slide show for my daughter's second birthday, and in iDVD I opted to use the Vintage Vinyl theme for layout and configuration.
For the Main Menu and all of my chapter menus I decided to apply my own music in place of the default music. You can do this simply enough by opening the info window and then dragging any selected song from iTunes to the Audio icon. The Menu Info window will then update and tell you the new duration, as well as the song author, song title and duration of the song.
I can then select another chapter listing and do the same thing.
What I have found though is that if I go back to a chapter or even the main menu after I have done this, my song is replaced once again by the default song. If I don't go back - but simply save and then burn, then I get the music I selected in all the right spots. It is as if in reloading the screen info for each menu or submenu, the template is stuck and replaces my selected music with the default music.
I was at my local Apple store for a one-to-one session this morning and showed them this in the hope that they would say "ah - you have to adjust this..." and then I would adjust something to stop this replacement. But instead I got a - Hmmm... that shouldn't happen.
It doesn't happen every time but almost every time. The slide show has some 560 slides in it, music that was put together in garageband and some 14 chapters. It takes an amazing time to refresh the screen and let a selection take place (apparently 2 Gigs are not enough).
I don't know if this same issue is present in other Themes or not - but it does happen with some regularity with the Vintage Vinyl theme.
Not sure how to fix it or even how to report it to Apple for a fix in the next set of updates, but thought this was at least a good place to start.

  • How can i use original audio track in video editing for iPad 2?

I am struggling to understand how the video editing apps work for iPad 2, and specifically, to understand why all the editing apps I have looked at explain how you can make these terrific video clips by ADDING audio tracks from iTunes, or. From the audio library. I just want to use the original audio on the tape?  Is that so strange? Today I took a video clip of my daughter singing with her guitar. I wanted to shorten the length a bit, so I downloaded a couple of Visio editing apps. When I pulled the clip out of my Camera Roll storage into the video editing screen, there was no sound at all, though there were ways to add other sounds ( for .99cents) most frustrating is that nowhere, does Apple explain this.  The tutorials just show someone editing a video of their friends ( with no sound) And adding text and music, as if it's normal not to include the actual sound that originally accompanied the video clip.  Seems like i wouldn't be the only customer who would prefer to hear my daughters own voice Ina video of her singing, and would like thisexplainedbefore I started downloading editing apps. If it can't be done, couldn't This be posted?

I am not understanding your question, or your complaint, if it is a complaint.
I movies takes a video clip, including its audio track.
You have the option of mutimg it, or of importing some other sound from your music library, or narrating.  What other option do you want?

In logic Pro, when I open up an audio track or software track and load an audio file/loop or software file loop, there is no sound. I will finally get a sound out of one of the audio or software tracks after opening at least 5 of them alternately. Is anyone familiar with this kind of bug? It's really frustrating as this takes much time to complete work.

I'm not sure I follow your words Fuzzynormal. You've helped by offering the insight that my issue in Logic Pro 9 is not a bug but a feature. But fell short of enlightenment by being a judge of character and of how one should interact in this forum. You insinuate that I haven't tried to solve the issue on my own when in fact I have. These forums are always my last resort. You further suggest that I am complaining. This is not a complaint. It is a genuine issue that I cannot figure out. Then you think that Brazeca is holding my hand and being a nice guy. Brazeca is helping people like me who might not be as adept at using Logic Pro as probably you are. This community forum was established to raise questions, answers and dicussion to help Apple's customers better undertand their operating systems and related issues. • Set default audio track for playback in Source monitor

So I'm an editor that is somewhat new to the profession and I am working on a project right now with close to 100 video clips in my project. Most of the clips have their audio recorded to track 2 but when I load the clips into the source window to find the footage asked for in my script there is no audio playback.
They play fine in the program monitor once placed in a timeline, because I have all the audio tracks are turned on until I do my mastering at the end of the project. To get audio playback in the source monitor I have to change the view option to audio waveform which shows a blank screen because there is no audio on track. I then go to the drop-down menu just below the video display and select track 2 at which point the audio waveform shows up and plays back fine. This isn't too arduous a process and isn't a great burden but it slows my workflow down considerably as I have to repeat the process for each new clip I load into the source monitor.
My question then is if there is anywhere in Premiere that I can set which audio track is the default audio playback track for clips loaded in the source monitor. I work on a lot of similar projects like this for the same client and they don't have the most rigorous standards for their shooters. This problem has come up before and will most assuredly arise again in the future so any tips/advice on how to fix this on my end would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

I'm not really sure.I don't do any shooting for the client and in fact don't have any contact with the shooters, we just do the post. They use a number of different freelance videographers all of whom have different equipment and procedures when it comes to formatting, orginization, etc.

  • "MIDI thru" box for audio tracks... what is it for?

    Hi Guys
Sorry for this possibly quite obvious question... when I create audio tracks that have nothing to do with MIDI, why is it that the inspector column on the left still has a section for "MIDI thru"? Is this for use with control surfaces that use MIDI channels to control paramaters on an audio track, or... for something else?
And is there a way to get rid of these all together, so that each audio channel isn't paired to a MIDI channel?
Apologies if this is a silly question!
    Cheers,
    Mike

If you don't know the answer then it's not a silly question.
You're simply seeing a connection where none exists. The Region parameter box will display the parameters of any selected Region(s). When no region is selected the region parameter box displays the "MIDI Thru" parameters.
Now, if you create some more tracks (Midi, Audio or whatever) and haven't selected any region then the Region Parameter box will still show the (same) Midi Thru parameters. It has nothing to do with selected Tracks only selected Regions.
The Track Parameter box displays the parameters for the selected Track.
The region parameter box displays the parameters for the selected Region.

  • How do I create multiple audio tracks (commentaries) for a DVD? (new user)

I’m new to DVD Studio and Compressor (slightly less so to FCP), and have a very basic question.
I have set my FCP Project and it has 3 audio tracks.
What I am trying to figure out is how do I create a DVD (4:3) and keep these 3 audio tracks separate so the viewer can switch between the audio tracks on the fly while watching the DVD. Basically the same as creating 3 different director’s commentaries, or 3 different languages.
I believe when I Export my FCP Project using Compressor I need to somehow have Compressor keep the audio tracks separate, and then when I import them into DVD Studio Pro the project will still be synced correctly. I’m having some trouble figuring out how to do this however.
Any advice would be a big help.
    Thx

  • Audio tracks missing when doing automate to sequence.

Using PMW200 with 4 audio tracks. When dragging single file to timeline I get the 4 audio tracks. But when I do an automate to sequence, I only get 1 audio track, plus, the default audio transition is not going on.
I have all the tracks highlighted and have ticked apply audio and video transitions.
Any idea where I'm going wrong? Thanks
    Mike Ward

Hi Kevin.  I uploaded a clip onto you tube for you to try, but you tube mixed the audio tracks so it was useless.
Basically, drag any video clip with 4 audio tracks recorded from camera onto timeline in cs6, and all audio tracks appear on the timeline.  But automate several similar tracks to timeline and only one audio track gets added.  The other 3 do not appear.  Is there a work around for this, rather than dragging all on one at a time.
    Thanks

  • Is there a way to decipher what chords are being used in an audio track?

I use logic pro x software and I was looking at this piece of audio. It's a synth lead and I wanted to create a bass to go with it however it's hard to work out the chords used so I was wondering if there are any add ons or something that can tell me what chords are used in the audio track. Im looking for something kind of like the BMI counter but for chord recognition. Can anyone help me! if not would anyone be able to decipher them for me? thanks

Not that i am aware of.. Not for Audio tracks.. Midi tracks yes, Audio no....
However there are 3rd party apps/websites that might do the job....

  • Audio tracks - languages available

    Ladies and Gentlemen:
I suggest that Apple shows which audio tracks (languages) are available for a movie in Apple TV - like in iTunes.
When I buy a movie i would like to know if an OV version is available.
It would also be nice if the movies always have the OV Language Track available.
    Thank you very much.
    Kind regards

  • How to display the name of the audio tracks on a dvd player?

Hi, I use DVD studio pro to make a dvd with a video track and two audio tracks. One is for stereo and the other is for 5.1 surround, in the same language (A1 and A2) . Is it possible to set the stream language in the way that on the display of the dvd player appear the name of the audio stream: stereo or surround?
    Thanks in advance,
    m

Nope, not somehting authoring in DVD SP can do.
I have not heard of it, but maybe some players have a feature to show info there (?) would be cool to have that as a feature to show info there

  • Invisible audio tracks in timeline

I've been working on a music video, so I've got multiple video clips in my timeline, but I've unlinked them from their original audio files and subsequently deleted the audio tracks they were assigned to. The only audio track I've kept is the original mp3 I am using. This was inserted on the audio track named "Soundtrack". For some reason, this track is no longer visible on my timeline. My Video tracks 1-7 are visible, but no audio tracks whatsoever. I can hear it fine and adjust it in the audio mixer, but I can't see it. Any idea how to get it back?
NB: When I create a new sequence or project, the audio tracks are visible as usual. Just not in the sequence I'm working on. Also, if I add a new video clip with audio attached, I can preview the video and hear the audio, but again- the audio track isn't visible on the timeline. Please help! This is highly annoying...

Are you using PrElements? PrPro does not have a "Soundtrack," but PrE does.
My guess is that you need to scroll up/down in your Timeline, and you will find the phantom Audio Clip(s).
Also, here is the Premiere Elements Forum. Maybe the MODs will move this post to that forum, if you ARE on PrE.
Last, some users of PrE have had problems with both Soundtrack and Narration, the two fixed Audio Tracks. When this happens, I recommend that those Clips get moved to a free, regular Audio Track.
Well, one more: I always convert any MP3 files to PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit, before Import. Many MP3 files can cause issues. I use Adobe Audition, but the great, free utility, Audacity, can do this too.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] The word "Sequence" indicates PrPro, and NOT PrE, so I was wrong about the program. In either program, look for the scroll bars to the far right of the Timeline Panel, and just scroll.
To control the placement of Audio Assets, one thing to think about is that your source footage will determine which Audio Tracks will be available. The channel-count MUST match. A 1-channel source can ONLY go onto a 1-channel Audio Track. If you have Audio, that you do not want disturbed, just Lock that Track (note: ONLY in PrPro, as PrE does not have Track Locks).

  • Cannot find alternate audio tracks

I have some m4v files created with 2 audio tracks - 1 Dolby Surround for watching on my imac and one AC3 for watching on my Apple TV
In itunes i can select either track, but cannot select them on my Apple TV
When I hold down play/pause, all I get is a list of chapters.......nothing else
I am running software version 3.0.1

i have many m4v files like this also - 2 audio tracks (dolby surround track 1 and ac3 track 2).
appletv does not give the option to change audio tracks and uses just the ac3 track.

  • How do I send audio tracks to an Aux channel

I want to send 3 channels of back up vocal to an Aux channel.
An Aux channel has Sends, which a Bus does not. I EQ and set the levles on each channel. Then after I have a good blending mix, I would like to send them to an Aux channel and use a compressor & limiter.
The point is to send the processed vocals from the Aux to a Bus that has a good reverb and then turn the send knob depending on how much of the backup vocals I want to send to the reverb on the Bus channel, and also that I can assign other channels to that bus too. When I click under the I/O on one of the channels, there are only Bus options.
How can I get vocals in to an Aux channel and control the volume, compression, and limiting and then send them to a Bus?

Route your audio track to bus 1 (for example) . . . now on an Aux object, set it's input as Bus 1. Now you are free to use the Sends on Aux 1 (to a different Bus) as you see fit.

  • Q about Audio tracks in PProCC

I've created a PProCC project, using AVCHD footage from a Panasonic DSLR. The original audio came in as a stereo track. I converted it to dual mono, because I read somewhere that would be a good idea, I don't remember exactly why!
Anyway,I've got my project put together, but when I go to edit audio in Audition, I notice that there is only 1 channel. And now looking back at the project, I see that both mono tracks are listed as Channel 1. When I edit in Audition, I'm only editing one channel. So what I need to know is, does the editing of that channel in Audition result in changes to both of my mono tracks in the original PProCC project, or just one? Thanks for your help! ~Bond

Well, that was a good and simple idea.
Exported mono track to Audition, added 5 sec silence at the beginning of the track. Saved in Audition.
Went back to PProCC, and sure enough only one track was affected.
I'm all about workflow, but I'm so mew at this I'm not at all surprised that it's an unusual workflow.
There's a lot of noise in these audio tracks - live theater recording, boomy room (which I know I can't do much about) but also several periods of obnoxious industrial noise - refrigeration unit going on next door, and whatever else - and I do think I can do something about that. But I'd like noise reduction to happen on both tracks in Audition, and it appears that I can't do that with the two mono tracks set up the way they are. So it appears that I've spent a ton of time trying to edit noise out of the audio, only to now discover that I've only been affecting one of the tracks, which is why, I guess, the noise isn't going away. Oy!!! Do I have any options for being able to edit both audio tracks simultaneously? Thanks for the help.
