Aurora update repeating endlessly.

Same 8.0a2 update Aurora repeating endlessly. Automatic update has been applied several times and the Manual Update has even been downloaded applied once. I am still being asked to update Aurora with the same 8.0a2 update. Browser is currently showing version 8.0a2.

If the updates were working correctly, you would get updates every day or few or more days whenever there are checkins. Currently you are using a old September 5th build.
The more unstable Nightly updates works the same way also but because there is almost always checkins each day there are 1 update (sometimes a respin build) each day.
This forum tends to see posts more on the stable Firefox releases so if you want to do testing and get help with such builds then http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=23 may be better.

  • App Store updates repeating

I'm experiencing an issue where the App Store shows updates available for programs repeatedly, even if they just received the update that is available. These aren't new updates, it is running the update for the same version, over and over.
    For example:
I run the updates, and iMovie receives an update to v 10.0.3.
Afterwards I check the version of the program on the disk, and it is 10.0.3.
The following day, I receive the notification that "Application updates are available" including the same update for iMovie, 10.0.3.
I can run the updates repeatedly, one-after-the-other, and it will endlessly continue to download and install the same versions. Clearly the App Store isn't correctly checking that the programs on the disk match the version of the available updates.
Currently, this seems to only occur with Apple's programs (iMovie, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, GarageBand) but also Evernote. I have other programs installed via the App Store which don't have this problem. Also OS system updates do correctly install only once.
    I'm on Mavericks, OS X 10.9.2, MacBook Air 1.7 GHz i7.
Any ideas how to solve this problem? My guess is there is a local cache file that determines which program versions are installed, and this file is corrupt or has incorrect permissions. I wonder if my disabling Spotlight has caused this.
    Thanks,
    Quinn

I have this problem and it is not consistant. Some updates keep asking to be repeated and others perform normally.
In my case the cure is to boot the Mac into "Safe Boot" by holding down the shift key when turning on until the Apple logo appears, then release it. Be patient as safe boot can take a while. Select yourself as the "user".
When settled go into the App store and the items requiring update go away.
    Now restart the Mac normally.
All repeated updates have gone away.
In my case this has cured the problem for a while until more updates come along but not all cause the problem.
I know this is not a complete cure but it helps me.
I have been in contact with Apple (under my Apple care) several times but they have not been able to solve it.

  • Why is my Firefox Aurora seems to be located in Program Files (x86)\Aurora\updated\firefox.exe, but that directory doesn't exist on my computer?

I'm using FusionDisplay to get a taskbar for my second monitor, and the taskbar has worked well until now. Now when I open pinned Aurora, it opens a new application and doesn't merge with the pinned down application icon.
It seems to locate the Firefox.exe to Program Files (x86)\Aurora\updated\firefox.exe, which doesn't exist. Also windows task manager right click menu for firefox.exe won't open anything when I click Open File Location.

Hi. I'm having the same problem with Final versions of Mozilla applications (FF and TB) on Win7 x64 as well. I don't have Display Fusion or the likes.
This started around FF15, and happens about every other update since. This is Very frustrating. Restarting the computer fixes it though. I'd never believe I'd have to restart the computer after pretty much about every update, major or minor. Now this happened to me for both FF19->19.02, and TB 17.0.3->17.0.4 at the same time. No other software running meanwhile.
This happens for about the 3 or 4th time. It's frustrating to have to restart every now and then for a browser update.
I'll stick to a version for both (19.0.2 and 17.0.4) forever, thanks Mozilla! Couple that with the inability of most versions of TB to sustain a longer uptime than 10-15 days with no addons and just 4 pop accounts with 50-100 emails and just one with 1000.

  • Aurora updated to 35.0a2 (x86 en-US) and I lost all the passwords in Save Password Editor

The computer is used for my office and Mozilla was set to automatically update. Prior to the update earlier today, I looked into Save Password Editor 2.8.1. Later, after Aurora updated to 35.0a2, the add on (Save Password Editor) did not exist. I downloaded the add-on again and it is empty (as I thought it would be). Can I still access the passwords? They are on a computer that was used by my now deceased business partner. I was going to restore the computer to a previous date (earlier than today) but this computer was not set up for a system restore. Any help to either revert to an earlier Aurora edition or to access the passwords would be greatly appreciated!!

You need to recover the logins.json (or possibly signons.sqlite) and key3.db files to restore the passwords.
    *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and later Window 7+ versions and the "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K are hidden folders.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Firefox 32 and later builds store the passwords in the logins.json file in the profile folder and no longer use the signons.sqlite file that has been used before (the matching key3.db file is still needed).
If you still have the signons.sqlite file used in previous Firefox versions then you can try to force Firefox to migrate the passwords saved in that file (you will lose passwords saved in Firefox 32+ versions).
You can force Firefox to reimport the passwords from the signons.sqlite file and rebuild the logins.json file with these steps:
    * reset the <b>signon.importedFromSqlite</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page to the default value via the right-click context menu
    * delete the <b>logins.json</b> file in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed
When you restart Firefox then you should have the signon.importedFromSqlite pref with the value set to true and you should have the passwords imported in the Password Manager unless there may have been errors.

  • Windows 7 updater repeats its updates

windows 7 updater repeats its updates
    walter shebib

    Hi Daniel
I have done an RSOP on a VM I am testing and only have the user policy :
Remove Access To All Windows Update Features which is set to
0 - Do not show any notifications.
    And the machine policy :
Specify intranet Microsoft update service location which is set to
Enabled The GPO Name is Local Group Policy
    The policies look OK.
As a test I have deployed some updates and set the user experience to
Display all notifications and set the Suppress restarts
for both Servers and Workstations.  When I deploy the updates, I get notifications that the updates are installing (when the deadline is met) and then I get a prompt telling me that a restart is required.  I also get a windo letting me restart now
or I can ask to be reminded in x number of hours.  This seems like expected behaviour.  It does not force a restart.  However if I leave the VM on over night I come in the following day and can see it has restarted.  looking at the WindowsUpdate.log I
can see that at 3:15am the line AUInvoking reboot system.  It looks like Windows Updates and not SCCM is forcing the restart.
    Thanks

  • Windows Update in Endless Loop of 'Installing updates" and "Undoing changes" on New Windows 8.1 Pro Install

I am setting new Windows 8.1 Pro computers, and am installing Windows 8.1 Pro to bare drives.  Everything goes fine until Windows Update starts installing updates, and then the computer goes for hours installing updates, and then "We
could not complete the updates Undoing changes".   It's an endless loop. It seems to be the same 38 updates.  This is a recent phenomenon.  I have not run into this until the last week or two on several new computer installs.
Again these are brand new installs, so something is clearly wrong with the Windows updates.
If anyone can please tell me how to avoid this, it would be much appreciated.
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
"  This is a recent phenomenon"
Have you made any modifications to the machines ?
To resolve this issue ,running the built-in troubleshoot tool is a very good beginning .It will automatically diagnostic the windows update components and check the configurations for us .
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Fix problems with Windows Update
If there are antivirus software installed in these machines, please turn off them temporarily to have a check.
The command line included in the link as S.Sengupta posted is very useful and convenient to repair the windows corrupted files .We can have a try .
    "sfc /scannow" ,"DISM.EXE /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth "
We also can check the windowsupdate.log for more information to troubleshoot this issue .
     Run "windowsupdate.log"
If you have trouble in analyzing the log ,please upload them to the OneDrive and paste the link here .
    Best regards

  • Aurora update wont install

Aurora is trying to install update 30.0a2. It downloads a 3.4 mB file but the install fails. It then downloads the 36mb file which still wont install.
If I try and download from scratch I run the file firefox-30.0a2.en_US.win32.installer-stub.exe. When that runs I get a message in 7 -zip "cannot create temp archive folder"
    where next

    Hi,
Have you tried running the install file as Administrator? Right click > Run as administrator
Also, try downloading the full version instead of the compressed installer
    *http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-aurora/
You want the ''firefox-30.0a2.en-US.win32.installer.exe'' located near the bottom.
P.S. This error message comes from the stub file that tries to unpack the archive to start the installation and creates a folder in the temp folder to do this and seems to fail to complete this operation.

  • My addon bar is not showing up in the new Aurora update.

Firefox Aurora force updated last night and the addon bar is missing. It doesn't come up with Ctrl+/, it's not on the customize page, it's not listed under toolbars.

    Ridiculous!
I was a little heated when I noticed the Add-on bar was removed. Not hidden but completely removed! Thank you to the developers who have created the add-ons to get my features back to the way I want them.

  • HT1338 App Store updates:  Repeated Error message saying I must sign in, though I already did.  , I click on update, Error message that I need to sign in to the same account I already signed in.

App Store updates:  I sign in, my password is accepted, I click on update, and still get the error message that I need to sign in to the same account I already signed in at.  What do I have to do to get my app updates?

Please try each of the following steps you haven't already taken, until the issue is resolved. After each step, relaunch the App Store and try again.
    1. Follow the instructions in the Apple Support article linked below:
Mac App Store: Cannot update App Store purchases or updates do not seem available
    2. If any App Store purchases were made under a different Apple ID, or if the bundled iLife applications were accepted under a different ID, sign in to the App Store with that ID to update.
    3. Alternatively, delete the probem applications and re-download them with the ID you're using now. If you haven't already purchased them with that ID, you'll have to do that first, because purchases can't be transferred from one account to another.
    4. Select the Purchased tab in the App Store window. If you see an item in the list marked "You have 3 apps to accept," click Accept.
    5. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/adoption.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window may open with a file selected. If it does, delete the selected file. You may be prompted for your login password.
    Then repeat step 4.
    6. Select
    Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. If you're trying to update any hidden purchases, unhide them.
    7. Launch iTunes and select
    Store ▹ Authorize This Computer
    from the menu bar.
    8. If you've moved any App Store apps out of the applications folder, or into a subfolder, put them back. Never move or copy those applications.

  • System Update Repeats Driver Download

Hi, I've searched on the Boards for a solution to this problem and haven't been able to find it.
    I hope someone can help.
I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit on an ancient 3000 N100. Model number 0768-E5U. System Update version 3.14.0024.
My problem is that I recently had to wipe my system and start over. System update is repeatedly telling me that I need to update the driver for my Intel PROWireless 3945ABG connection ver: 12.4.3.9. Even if I accept the download and install, when I restart, it still brings it up.
I already have that driver installed.
Did I miss a driver for System Update ?
    Please help!

  • Why did I lose all my bookmarks, settings and add ons in the recent Aurora update?

When I was using Aurora it happened to crash so I restarted as i normally would when this happens, but when it restarted it was a new version (Firefox Developer Edition) and not a single bookmark, folder, add on etc had remained (not to mention my previous session that had quite a few tabs some trivial but some a bit more important and ALL of my history was gone). When I tried to go to Sync and see if that would restore anything the option to put in my recovery key was nowhere to be found although in the Sync FAQ it mentioned this older way of using sync could still be used. So I made an account with email and password and still could not find a way to sync anything I lost. I searched around the FAQs and could not find a resource to help with my issue.
I've been a loyal user of Firefox (since 2005) and I will continue to be but this really caught me off guard as even in previous updates I never had an issue like this.
Any help with what to do would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

hello mmendo18, the firefox aurora release channel has been converted into the firefox developer edition. by default it starts with a freshly created profile. in order to get back to your old data, please refer to [[Recover lost bookmarks on Firefox Developer Edition]]

  • Why do my updates repeat?

It seems that I'll do an update successfully, then a couple of days later the same update comes up. WTH? I thought the Appstore kept track of my stuff.
I have a rather slow 'net connection, so these repeated downloads are a pain.

Carolyn Samit, Thanks for letting me know that it is a "known issue" -- (I would have expected Apple to make that known---   ).
I will verify "release date" in the future and abort.
My slow connection is DSL at the far limits of servicability, as far as wire length from the telco equipment station goes.

  • Updates repeated error: 1303

Error 1303 in spite of uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe.  Also OSX 10.8.3 does not let me complete edit root when I jumped through all the hoops.  The last step cannot be completed because root does not show in window where 'root enable' should be.  Maybe when I am uninstalling Adobe I am not totally into the trash with Adobe Reader and/or Adobe Flash Player?  Not withstanding that, still the Mac solution is not available since last step is not observable in selection window.  Kindly advise.  Thank you

  • Songs keep repeating endlessly

I have an iPhone 3G. After I updated to the 5.01 I noticed that when I select a music playlist and start playing. It just plays the first song, over and over again. This also happens when I select shuffle.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Start the song in question, tap the cover art, near the top on the left side (under the position slider) you will see a double arrow, tap it until it turns white (this is the repeat button).

  • Premiere Pro CC2014.2 update repeated fail

I have tried to update Premiere to CC2014.2 via the CC updater on my iMac (OSX 10.8.5), which gets to 100% in the progress bar and then says update failed. I have also downloaded the updater from ProDesignTools, which also failed. Please could anyone advise on how to proceed.

    Hi,
In that case i would suggest you to use the CC cleaner tool to uninstall Adobe programs and reinstall.
