Auto Fix in LR4

Does LR4 have a similar function as PSE10 Auto Quick Fix?

Presets do store absolute numerical values for adjustments, still so in LR4?
Given the image-adaptive nature of the ranges in LR4 absolute presets can hardly achieve what they did in LR3?
For auto it is worth while to test shift+doubleclick on individual sliders. You do not need to always apply the full auto mode (strg u).
I find exposure often best set manually by myself, and use the auto on some or all other basic sliders.

Can someone tell me what the "Auto Fix MRDVR" will do?

Verizon techs have given me different answers on this. One said I will lose recordings on the DVR. He also said that it effectively reformats the DVR so it will not recognize my external drive after running the auto fix. Another said it is basically just a reboot and doesn't do anything. Has anyone with an external eSata actually used the auto fix recently (with the latest version if that will make a difference) and can tell me what it does and doesn't do? Will I lose recordings, settings, series programming, etc?
My DVR is rebooting itself every day at exactly the same time. If I reboot manually, it will automatically reboot 24 hours from that time. Since it is always exactly 24 hours from the previous reboot, it seems to be a programming problem not a bad box (which is always Verizon's answer). Sleep timer is set to Never. Verizon says there is no programming on their end, so Auto Fix is the only thing left to try. Thanks

It does not reformat the DVR and you will not lose your recordings. I've used the tool many times when the thing started acting weird and have never lost a recording or had the DVR "reformatted." (And yes, I have an external HD attached.)

Auto fix controls?

I had problems with elements 11 auto fix tools? Are these issues improved in "Photoshop Elements 12"?

Your question is too wide to answer by anybody using PSE12 but you can download a free trial of the software and try it out. You get 30 days to try it out before you buy it.
When you like it, all you need to do is to buy the boxed version and use the serial number from it to activate your trial version. You don't need to install the software again.
I don't use PSE12 so I won't comment further here.

Daylight savings problem - Fixed in LR4?

Hi all,
I'm using LR3 and recently discovered a problem where the program automatically adjusts the 'Time Taken' field in the photo's EXIF data to match Daylight Savings time. Obviously this is extremely stupid becasue I want to know what time the photo was taken at at the time, not what it corresponds to now.
It seems the problem has been around since LR1.0, and there's a lot of threads about this dating back to 2007, such as this one: http://forums.adobe.com/message/1383951#1383951
What I really want to know is this: Is the problem finally fixed in LR4? If so I'll be upgrading as quickly as possible.

Why don't you try it out for yourself. Download the LR4 trial and see if it works properly for your circumstances using a test library. Obviously, be sure to you don't upgrade your only copy of your LR3 library in the process.

Photo Editing, auto fix does not work for brightness and contrast or shadows and darkness editing.

I can manually move the sliders and change appearance of photos, but when I click on auto fix nothing happens anymore. It worked fine until today. Any suggestions?

Auto-Blacks in LR4?

In LR3 and previous there was a little trick, commonly used, to only auto-tone the blacks slider. Is there any way to get that in LR4 (2012 process)? I've been trying...
For LR3 and previous you would open a preset file with a text editor and delete the "shadows= " line and change the "AutoShadows= False" to true. It's the only auto setting I used in LR3, and it did a really great job.

Auto Sync adjusts them all to the same value, not values tuned to each individual image like was capable in LR3.
I have tried a number of different things in text editing, including performing the same modifications to AutoShadows2012, no luck.
The only method I've found so far is to apply an auto-tone preset that auto-tones all the basic panel tone sliders, then apply a preset that has fixed values assigned for all those sliders except blacks, which leaves only blacks auto-toned. I'll do that for now, but it's certainly a hinderance to workflow compared with one preset that did it all.

PSE12 Organizer auto fix failure

Whenever I use the "auto photo fix" feature in PSE12 Organizer on a large size image, I receive an error message "AutoXX Fix Failed"????? Even when I try to use the quick crop! However, if I use this feature on a small size image file, it works! I can edit the large image files in "editor" just fine. I'm using jpg files, appears all other functions are working properly. Tried restarting PSE12, restarted WIN7 Pro....no change.
It seems there may a problem with large jpg image files in using the Photo Fix features from the Organizer . any ideas? Suggestions?

Similar stuff happens if you "undo" a quick fix.
Zoom level in organizer is reset, and although your pic is still selected, the display scrolls all the way back to the top of the window.
This is a .0 glitch, hopefully it will get sorted.

If that fixes things, then suspect a visitor is changing the hidden attribute.

Auto Fix Red-Eye in Aperture?

Hello,
I'm a newbie to Aperture and I was just trying to figure out where in Aperture can I fix red-eye automatically [similar to how it is done in iPhoto 11]? I realize that I can fix the red eyes manually, but is there a simple button that I can push that will automatically fix the red eyes in a photograph? This feature is really nice in iPhoto 11 as it will fix 99% of the red-eyes, etc. Just hoping there is a similar feature in Aperture.

Had the workdays alarm bug. The alarm would sound 3 minutes late.
But after the daylight saving automatic update the bug has disappeared.
My Date and time settings:
Time zone: Local Time
Automatic time update: On

It is in fact pretty random. The change back to GMT didn't cure the problem for me and the alarm still goes off late. The phone also switches late out of a programmed profile and the scheduled backup sometimes doesn't happen at all.
The update to V31 is reputed to fix this issue - if ever we get it for our UK CV handsets.

Is there a way I can auto fix the red eye in all photos in my library, rather than fixing each individual photo seperately?

I have lightroom 5 which I use to edit photos taken using a ringflash around my canon 60D. The ringflash causes subjects in the photos to have red eye. Is there a way you can auto correct the red eye over all the photos you import rather than using the tool to edit each individual photo separately?

SDIMA - Auto fixing of discripencies

Hi,
We have found via SDIMA that there are a few BP's that were not replicated to R/3. Is there a way to schedule a job from SDIMA to fix this. I beleive behind the scenes a synchronization request (R3AR4) is made. Any ideas/suggestions?

Canon iPF printers No Color Correction fix for LR4

Once again because of Canon's use of a special casing file to identify applications that when choosing application manages color printing, set No Color Correction instead of Color in the printer driver, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 needs to be added to the AppColorMatchingInfo.xml file.
This file includes all previous updates and Photoshop CS6

Lightroom 3.2 final release has the internal name of Lightroom 3 so it is already listed in the AppColorMatchingInfo.xml. That is if you have installed the x300 drivers or have replaced the AppColorMatchingInfo.xml file with my version.
