Auto load archassistant with sudo permission

I want to auto load archassistant after startup as a superuser in my kdemod4 laptop.
Could someone tell me how to achieve it?

rc.local won't work because that's boot time and archassistant needs X.
what you do is run
sudo visudo
which will open a vim session. Hit 'i'
Add this to the bottom:
your_user_name_here ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/archassistant
Hit 'ESC' once
Hold 'Shift' and press 'Z' twice to save your changes
Then add "sudo archassistant" in your KDE4 control panel to startup applications. It may be under "Sessions" or something. I don't have KDE4 so I can't tell you exactly.

I use the HP8600 Officejet Pro Premium. The auto load tray is reliable anytime I use the scan or copy feature. There is about a 25% success rate with the same auto load tray with fax attempts. Any advice or support would be very much appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
Typically when you have issues with the tray or the hardware on the printer, it is usually a power issue or a lack there of.
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Try having it connected to a wall outlet for a few days and let me know if any change takes place. If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. [SOLVED] Don't have permission to turn off bluetooth, even with sudo!

I never use bluetooth on my laptop, but every time I boot arch the radio and light are both on. I tried unloading the bluetooth module, using bluez and other tools to shut off bluetooth, etc., but that radio just stays on. After searching the web for a while, I finally found the solution: cut off power to the device. I can do that with this command:
echo "0" > /sys/devices/platform/sony-laptop/bluetoothpower
And turn it back on by changing "0" to "255". The only problem is, I can't run this as a normal user, and I can't even run it with sudo! Here is the output:
$ echo "0" > /sys/devices/platform/sony-laptop/bluetoothpower
zsh: permission denied: /sys/devices/platform/sony-laptop/bluetoothpower
$ sudo echo "0" > /sys/devices/platform/sony-laptop/bluetoothpower
zsh: permission denied: /sys/devices/platform/sony-laptop/bluetoothpower
(I'm using zsh but this also happens with bash)
However, I can su to root and run this command successfully
$ su
Password:
# echo "0" > /sys/devices/platform/sony-laptop/bluetoothpower
And off goes the light. I would like to somehow turn off bluetooth at boot, but I don't know how to have Arch run a command as the root user at boot after loading the modules (to ensure the bluetooth radio is not started up again). It seems that bluetoothpower is created at each boot, because I tried changing the permissions to read & write for all, then adding the command to my .xinitrc. This worked, but only during that session. After rebooting I had the same problem.

Adobe has stopped auto loading when I choose " print " option on a website that provides me with a PDF format statement. Mozilla or Adobe setting?

Both mozilla and Adobe have been updated. Should I be looking into Adobe or Firefox for a setting change to enable adobe to be auto loaded when accessing a PDF format statement by a "print" button on a website?

This is on your Android device? Does Firefox show that it is downloading the PDF? Usually that will appear first and then the file will be launched in the Adobe app. If nothing happens after it is downloaded, does it appear on the Downloads list on the menu and, of so, can you open it normally from there or is that also not working?

I'm trying to share to Media Browser a 20 minute still slide show with music and text. I have tried several times to save at 1080 HD, but just before it's finished, a message box pops up saying "File already open with write permission." What's this mean?

What does this mean? All files are closed; this iMovie project is the only thing open. Does it mean one of the song files from iTunes? And should I just settle for saving it as a "large" file, which is what I'm trying right now?

PDFmaker addin will not auto-load to Word

Using Office 2013 and Acrobat Pro 11.0.08. Until this week, the PDFmaker add-In was always enabled in Word. Then there was an error doing a merge to PDF.
Now every time I start Word, PDFmaker shows as inactive ("load behavior: unloaded") until I go to File | Options | Add-Ins and check the box to load it. Then it works fine until I close Word and have to do it again.
How do I get it to auto-load?? I can't find a place to set that.

You can solve this problem by editing the "LoadBehavior" registry entry. The value needs to be 3 (load at startup).
With Office 2013, that registry key is at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins\PDFMaker.OfficeAddin
One note - the Add-In was loading when I ran as the administrator but not when I just opened a Word doc. I checked this same registry key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and it was set to 3. I am guessing that is why it worked when run as administrator. For some reason the LoadBehavior key had been revised to 0 on my HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry key.
Nevertheless, the fix above will work because I just tried it out on my machine and another here in the office which had the same issue.

Tape Auto-loader Recommendations

I have an Xserve RAID that has grown to about 1 TB of data. Currently I am backing up to single SDLT drive. A full back up, which I do weekly, takes about 4 or 5 tapes. I'm thinking it is time for an auto-loader (tape library). I'm looking at the Exabyte VXA-320 PacketLoader mostly because of its $2,300 price tag.
Has anyone had any experience with this device? Are there any other devices that I should be looking at?

I'm a little surprised at the media costs of SDLT vs.
VXA, although I've not spent much time looking at VXA
so you're undoubtedly correct.
I was looking at the media prices for SDLT 600 ($100) vs VXA ($60). Currently, we use SDLT 320. I was enticed by the SDLT 600's backwards read compatibly. But the SDLT 600 has the highest tape cost.
I think I'm going have to flip a coin to choose between the LTO-2 and LTO-3. The LTO-3 tapes cost twice as much as the LTO-2. However the LTO-3's hold twice as much as the LTO-2's, so the tape cost is a wash. The LTO-3 drive is $1000 more than the LTO-2.

Safari will not Auto load username password

This is very strange,
All my websites will load my username and Passwords except for my website with Scottrade.com
I double checked to ensure that my username password is in profile and it certainly is.
What can I do to fix my username and password auto load for my trading account, please

[SOLVED] Cannot open x apps with sudo

Hi all,
I just did a fresh install of kde in Arch, and I cannot open any x server apps, like kwrite, using "sudo kwrite". I tried xhost +localhost and my user name, but that didn't work. Then I tried tweaking the $DISPLAY... I couldn't get anything to happen either. Can anyone give me a few helpful pointers? Thanks!

try with "sudo -E gedit"
from sudo manual:
-E The -E (preserve environment) option indicates to the

MupdfPage: an add-on for mupdf for auto-loading/saving page numbers

I love MuPDF, but it doesn't store page number before you exit as other viewers do. I wrote a new header 'pdfpage.h' under the 'apps' directory and hacked 'pdfapps.c' a bit so that now it auto-saves and loads page numbers. The hack is based on a svn version, which keeps changing and makes patching hard, so I put my hacks in the README.txt.

To use, clone latest source:
git clone git://git.ghostscript.com/mupdf.git
drop 'pdfpage.h' into apps directory, and apply the 4 changes in 'pdfapps.c'.

Check out llpp and zathura. The former uses mupdf to render PDFs, the latter can (with a plugin). Both are very fast (llpp just FLIES), and have that auto-loading/saving page numbers. And, zathura has genious keybindings.

I've successfully auto-loaded my tabs, but is there a way to auto-load "Top Sites" also into a new tab? (I know I can set any newly opened tabs to load "Top Sites"). I am so lazy that I can hardly bring myself to type command-T. Any good way to do this?
In other words, I want the browser to open with tabs for site A, site B, site C, as well as "Top Sites". I can do A, B, and C, but Top Sites doesn't seem to have a conventional URL.

While running WLBA analysis tool for load building i am getting green message stating that no issues in automatic tool loading.
while working in WLB13 tcode for automatic load buliding i am getting the red mesages as a result inturn it wont create the automatic PO in WLB4.
whare is the error / mistake?

After executing in WLB13 results were shown
if it is error free system will give messgae in green color, now it is red color and telling that " result lists : no entry is appearing in REd color.
the next stage of the is WLB4 whare the matl selected for auto load building along with PO no will appear.
this is not happening?
