Automated Launching of an X11.app

Question

I have an application called StarTeam that runs under X11.
To get it launched I have to do the following:
launch X11
type "export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0{enter}
launch ~/starteam-en-10.4.7-java/starteam
I'm more of a GUI type of guy and was wondering if there was some kind of script or automation that I could create and link to an icon so that one click in the dock would do all this for me.
I've poked around a bit with AppleScript, but X11 isn't scriptable and I couldn't figure out how to do UI scripting to get the typing.
I've also tried a little bit of Automator, but I don't understand it at all and I'm not sure it is even appropriate for this type of thing.
Anybody have any ideas?

As etresoft says, you should not need to launch X11 on A Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard system (you did on Tiger, but not Leopard).
In addition, you should already have a DISPLAY environment variable defined. Of course if you are overriding DISPLAY before launching ~/starteam-en-10.4.7-java/starteam then this would explain why you have to manually start X11, as you have most likely broken the magic that causes X11 to start automagically.
If you want to have a double clickable launching of ~/starteam-en-10.4.7-java/starteam, then I would suggest creating an Automator Workflow.
Applications -> Automator
Custom
Run Shell Script
~/starteam-en-10.4.7-java/starteam
Save as...
Application
DO NOT set DISPLAY in the Automator workflow.
You should now have a double-clickable application that will launch your starteam X11 application.
I have tested everything I just suggested using /usr/X11/bin/xclock as my X11 application, and it worked as expected. This should work for you as well.
