Automatic conversion from XDP file fo PDF file

Hello!
I have an application that creates an XDP file with a certain report.
I can open the XDP file in Designer 7.0 and then save it as PDF, but I would like to know, how can I automatically produce PDF file from XDP file.
Is it possible?

We have a similar requirement for our product.
We have existing XDP templates (for use with Form server), but we have a need for another Client using an older version of XML Forms - AcroForms (PDF Forms).
So, we need to convert these XML forms in XDP files into PDF Forms (AcroForms). We tried File->SaveAs (PDF Forms) from Adobe designer, but it looks like the hidden fields (in XDP files) get messed-up.
Did you guys find any solution for this? I would appreciate if you can share your experiences and insights in this regard.

Audio Recording - Conversion from .caf files to mp3 / flv

Hi,
Does anybody has done any dynamic audio conversion from .caf files to mp3 or flv format? Basically we have an Iphone app that is recording audio and it saves the data in a SQL Server Database but we want to share this audio in a website. The website need to be able to play the audio in Flash. Does this make sense? I've seen some libraries out there but the Services and Environment are running on Windows so the conversion may be need to be on that environment.

How to disable the automatic conversion from JPEG to TIFF?

I am using Keynote '09 and Safari 4 on OS X 10.6.8, and I often want to drag and drop a JPEG image from Safari to my slides. I would like to keep the image format as is, but Keynote automatically converts the image format from JPEG to TIFF, so the .key file size becomes large.
Does anyone know how to disable this automatic conversion? Any idea? I know that I can use the original format if I save the JPEG image at a temporary location, such as ~/Desktop. But I would prefer simpler way. Drag and drop is the best.

Indeed, having the same problem here. A simple PPT file that was 1 MB ballons often to more than 10 x the size as a KEY file. If you rename to zip and open, one notices lots of completely useless "PLACEHOLDER" and background files that occupy several MB in total, plus some small JPGs have been converted to very large PNGs. This is truly annoying.
A similar lack of "file size economy" is present in all applications apple produces for the ipad/iphone. Images I uplodaded to the photo app become very large (often 10 x bigger). WTH apple? Be more economical! Even my 64 GB ipad2 is starting to feel small with your waste.

How do you keep embedded documents during conversion from Word 2007 to PDF?

I have additional documents, spreadsheets etc embedded into a Microsoft Office Word document. When this document is converted to the PDF (using the Word PDF add-in interface) the embedded objects can no longer be opened and only appear as images.
Is there a way to retain the embedded document during the conversion so that they can be opened from within the resulting PDF?

I don't have Acrobat X installed at this time so am not able to create or edit PDFs (other than from Word). I understand that creating a PDF from Word may not be an Acobat issue per se, but thought that someone on this forum may have experienced a similar problem, hence thought I'd try my luck here

Even for JSF (Java Server Faces) application this would be a manual process.
Even both JSF and WD have a lot of similar concepts there are numerous differences in approaches used here and there, that cannot be automated. Or at least you'll spend more time for the tool then for the manual job.

Automatic conversion of TDMS files to *.mat procedure in Diadem

Hello to all,
I have a very large set of data aquired with a PXI chassis. The data is saved in TDMS files. Each TDMS file contains data from 10 acquisition channel. I have to convert this data into Matlab readable fiels, *.mat files. Unfortnately, there are a lot of files (900GB), each file is very large (17GB), and therefore manual conversion is very long and I cannot afford to waste so much time.
Does anybody know if I can develop an automatic procedure in Diadem that will take a TDMS file and output 10 *.mat files?
I have to mention that I have tried to convert the TDMS files using Matlab scripts found on Matlab Central, but with no success. I have also tried using some VIs I found on the NI Support forums, but all failed. I am left woth this third solution in Diadem that works, but takes a lot of time.
I am open to any suggestion.

File conversion, from .mpg files to useable files for iMovie on new MacBook

i wasnt really sure where to post this, but since my end goal is to be able to use all my videos for editing on iMovie it seemed like the best place, i have many .mpg files that i would like to simply convert to a file of equal quality that iMovie will recognize, theres pages and pages of converters on google but they either are trial versions that will leave water marks or there are websites that will only convert files up to 100mb, i just need a simple converter for the videos i have, i dont want to spend 50 bucks on software that ill only use once and i obviously dont want water marks or a decrease in quality, if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

Conversion from Word 2007 to PDF/X

Is there a monthly subscription service to Acrobat XI PRO so that I could convert a Word document with
text, graphs, and photos into PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-3? None of the subscription services that I saw expressly
state the type of conversion except to say its to PDF. Why is this so hard for sales and Customer Service
to figure this out?

ITunes will no longer play nor add to the library any mp3 files which I have created by conversion from a wav file.

I am running iTunes 10 on XP Pro and it will no longer play those mp3 files which I have created by conversion from wav files. I tried to delete some from the library and then re-add them but iTunes will not add them back to the library.
Can anyone help solve this, please?

Back up your purchased music before you upgrade, I've read at least 5 cases where purchased music has just gone.....missing.
That is not supposed to happen, didn't happen to me or thousnds of other iTunes users, but you don't want to be the 6th person, do you?

Import of Records in LC XDP file causes Acrobat Reader to crash

I have a 2 page form I've created in LiveCycle Designer 8.2. Tried to do the whole import XML button but since we have several employees with just the reader version it would not allow them to import a file. So option 2 was that I created a button in our Visual Basic application that automatically creates an XDP file so that all our employee has to do is run it and it has all the client's info in the binded fields. Everything works fine on my end because I have a Dual Core 2 machine with 2 gigs of ram and a 256MB video card. I tried running the file on a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz machine with 512 memory and although it was trying to run, it would constantly crash. I tried running it on a local Pentium 4 machine with 512 ram and although it ran it did take at least 5 minutes to process and I'm only biding 2 fields but since it's a 2 page form, it doubles the PDF to 1200 pages since it will be a back and front form to be printed. So just wondering if there's any other solutions I can try without having Reader crash or hang. The form is saved as a Dynamic PD, no embedded font is saved and there are no graphic images. Thank you.

The programmer create an button in his visual basic application that
extracts client information into a XDP file. He then had to do something in
Acrobat Pro to re-save the XDP file according to the PDF file. He then told
me to have employees just click on the XDP file which loads up the PDF form
and puts in the data. The bindings are using XML format. Because we have
about 600 clients it takes about 3 minutes to add their names to the two
binded fields. I was just surprised that I had to add 2 gigs of memory to
get it work. Unfortunately he told me that they cannot save the form
because it messes up some unique id number in the XDP file.

FFT of waveform (lvm file converted from mat file) - how do I overcome dt error =0?

I am using an lvm file after conversion from mat file. I wanted to get the fft spectrum.I keep getting this error that waveform dt<=0.
How do I overcome it?

The Forum is somewhat particular about the files which may be attached. Often creating a zip file works. Sometimes you can change the extension to .txt. If you change the extension, please indicate in your post what the orignal extension was.
It appears that the data in the file has a time column and an amplitude column. The LabVIEW waveform datatype is a cluster of an array of amplitudes (Y), sampling interval (dt), starting time (t0), and optional attributes. This is what the Power Spectrum VI requires as an input. The t0 values is not used so the defualt is fine. the dt value can be calculated from the difference of any two adjacent values in the time column. Since the first value is zero, the second value is equal to dt. Use the Build Waveform primitive from the Waveform palette. Expand it to show the dt element.
In the attached VI all rows is an indicator which contains the data from your file saved as default. XY Graph plots that data. After subtracting the mean to get rid of a DC component, the data is converted to a waveform. The power spectrum is calculated and displayed using the same VI as in your program. It also uses Extract Multiple Tone Information.vi to get the frequency and amplitude of the major peaks in the data.
Interestingly the low frequency part of the spectrum has strong harmonics of 60 Hz while the peaks near 4 kHz are space ~100 Hz apart. The broad peak near 2.1 kHz does not seem to have noticeable components at either 60 or 100 Hz.
How do you avoid the Dynamic Data Type (DDT)? Stop using Express VIs! For reasons only known to NI, Express VIs deliver their outputs via DDT. Except by opening the block diagram of the express VI, there is no way to tell what the underlying data structure on a DDT wire is.

Automatic conversions...A Bug? or just a feature(How to turn it off?)

I Using TS 3.0(.0.12373) I seem to have stubbled over a annoying 'feature' which I can't turn off...Any one got ant ideas.......
Every sequence file I load(eg from the \examples\) when When loaded the '*' appears next to the file name indicating a change has happend. When closing the file TS asked "......file modified due to automatic conversions TestStand performed when loading file".
The only change that happened to the .seq file is a change to the Path, timestamps, and Version(From 3.0.0.12373 in the original to 3.0.0.12374 in the Updated one) at certain points in the file (found using a examine differences program ExamDiff.exe) examples below.
Any ideas how this feature is switched on,
and more importantly how to switch it off?

It appears that somehow you have edited an NI type and incremented the version number. Your debug work was correct, so looking at the sequence file you will notice that the following sections have a changed version number:

Basically TestStand assumes that the newly edited NI type superceeds the one the TestStand finds in the sequence file. For most NI types, the default copy is stored in the type palette files and these probably have the 3.0.0.12374 version. Depending on which NI type was edited, a copy of the newly edited type might also be in the INI files that TestStand uses in the Cfg directory.
In TestStand 2.x if a user attempted to
edit an NI type instead of creating your own copy of the type, the sequence editor would warn them and suggest not editing the NI type. In TestStand 3.0, we wanted to be more strict and not allow editing of NI types at all, but the code did not work properly when released and instead it allows anyone to edit NI types without a warning. TestStand 3.1 now propertly prevents the editing of NI types.
What I recommend is to search all INI files under TestStand and all your sequence files for the '%VERSION = "3.0.0.12374"' text and hand edit them to replace this text with '%VERSION = "3.0.0.12373"'. This should address the issue for you.
If you have sent sequence files to others, and you do not want them to see the automatic conversion issue, their files should also be hand edited. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Conversion from .ai to .svg issue

Hello all,
I'm having problems regarding the conversion from .ai file to .svg file.
The problem, as you can see the attachment files , is an alteration of the image.
I wanted to ask you, certainly more experienced than me , if is there a way to solve this problem.
(I have activated the adobe optimization in the save as dialog.).
Ps:
If I open files created with Adobe does not appear to be no problem, but if the file is opened by an application like Inkscape or our application the image is altered.
