B2B 11g - B2B-51507 - A data element contains characters not listed in the

How can we change the character set used in b2b ? We are getting the following error when some non english characters are present in the payload. We see the issue also when CRLF characters are present in the payload.
Error : Element NTE02 (Description) contains characters not listed in the allowed character set. Segment NTE is defined in the guideline at position 030.{br}{br}This error was detected at:{br}{tab}Segment Count: 4{br}{tab}Element Count: 2{br}{tab}Characters: 5077 through 5121

What is the version and release of B2B are you using? Have you applied any patches?
I am asking above questions because there is a known bug in B2B with similar problem and there is a patch available for the same.

    I try to validate payload and get 2 errors:
    1. Segment COM type an min length 1 max length 512 payload value: [email protected]
    Error: ub-Element COM010-010 (Communication address identifier) contains characters not listed in the allowed character set. Segment COM is defined in the guideline at position 0350.
    2. Segment group 27 Sub Element CUX payload value is null, value is exists at header level (Group 7 ub-Element CUX)
    Error: Unrecognized data was found in the data file as part of Loop Group 27. The last known Segment was MOA at guideline position 1260 - Validator error - Extra data was encountered.

    Hi All,
    I am getting a error ''Element GRP is not available in the container'' whenever I try to create a PR and the workflow is triggered. I am using a custom rule to determine the approver. The workflow is not able to determine the agent and returns with the error message Element GRP is not available in the container whenever it is triggered automatically.
    But when i manually test the workflow manually it is working fine.
    Can someone tell me why it is happening and what could be done to overcome this error?

    I think the problem is not with your rule ....
    you haven't specified when the error is occurring ...
    if its occurring in starting ..please check if your initial binding  ( For workflow triggering in header ) are right .

    Hi Experts,
    I created the simple WF. Start event - RELEASESTEPCREATED, object - BUS2012. WF have one step, task - "TS20000166 Release of purchase order". When I start my workflow in test run the status is set to "error" - "Element PURCHASINGCONTRACT is not available in the container", Message no. OL356.
    Testing the WF in transaction SWUD don't found any errors.
    Can anybody help me with this?

    Hi Andru,
    I worked on Release strategy for PO.
    I am SURE the Problem is with RULE, RULE is not returning any agents.
    The problem is that the rule (20000027) your using is not returning any agents.
    1. Just go to transaction PFAC and enter the RULE. go to display mode.
    Click on the second button in the application tool bar (SIMULATE RULE RESOLUTION - shift + F8 ) a popup sort of screen will be displayed.
    Now enter the PO number and Release code.
    Execute the DETAIL button in the middle of the popup screen.
    See if the rule is returning any agents.
    2. If the above mentioned test is successfully executed,
    Check in your workflow SWDD.
    Open your workflow.
    Double click on the RELEASE CODE workflow container element.
    Check if the structure defined under D.Type is - T16FC and Field is - FRGCO.
    3. If even the 2nd point is correct,
    Check the binding for the step '0000000004'
    In the binding, Pass the Busines Object BUS2012 (Purchase order) and RELEASE CODE (T16FC-FRGCO) that are present in the Workflow container. and check if they both are import and export parameters.
    3. You are sure that the agents are specified in SPRO (under Material management >> PURCHASING >> Purchase order/CONTRACT >> Release Procedure for PO/CONTRACT >> Define release procedure for PO / CONTRACT >> WORKFLOW )
    If you double click on WORKFLOW, you will see that the AGENT IDs are assigned to the Release Group and release codes of Purchase Order.
    Eg: Release group       Release code  Agent Type        Agent ID

  • OTL Error - Hrs - Element link does not exist for the duration of the entry

    Hi,
    We had a few new people start just before xmas however when the person entering their record did it, they didn't date-track the additional assignment time information record to the start of the week (they did however correctly date-track their employee and assignment record) so when the timecard was filled in errors were thrown up.
    Since then I have gone back into the employees assignment time record, purged it and then re-created it effective from the week beginning.
    However when we try to enter time for them now using delegated self service, the following error is shown for the two days which were originally excluded from the date-tracked record:
    Hrs - Element link does not exist for the duration of the entry Cause: The link has been purged or date effectively deleted. Action: Check the effective start and end dates on the link definitions for this element. The original record should have been created from the 19th dec 2009 however was done from the 23rd by accident. I have since been in and replaced it with a record effective from the 19th.
    I have re-run the security list generation (we are using static list).
    The only thing I can find on metalink is 372086.1 which doesn't really describe the problem or help!!
    The people don't appear in the timekeeper form though which is strange. I really can't see any reason why their record isn't valid - no data is missing. Do I need to run a job to update the information or something?

    Well would you believe it!? After much late night meddling around, I noticed one employee worked! There was absolutely no difference in any settings between his record and a persons who did not work. So I went into another employees record, changed his name and saved (correcting). Tried again and he worked fine! So, just by changing the employee name it seems to have worked for self service! I still cannot see them in timekeeper which is worrying however at least we can get time in for them now!
    If anyone knows why I may not be able to see them in timekeeper (even using an un-secured responsibility) then that would be a great help! :)

    I am trying to create an element using the API_PAY_ELEMENT_ENTRY.CREATE_ELEMENT_ENTRY API
    While I am able to create many elements for years this way, for one particular non-recurring element I get the following error
    ORA-20001: Element link does not exist for the duration of the entry
    Cause: The link has been purged or date effectively deleted.
    Action: Check the effective start and end dates on the link definitions for this element.
    I have checked evertything and the Link is defined far before my element entry starts and with no end date. The assignment I want to attach this element entry is perfectly eligible.
    The weirdest is that I am able to create this element entry with the values I want and the dates I want through standard User interface...
    Any idea?

    We are using load balancer to distribute the load across of our four portal servers nodes. Lately, two of our nodes are behavior very strangely; it continuously stopped working momentarily and it started back up again automatically by it self.     I work with FrameMaker 8 and DITA.
    I change the element prodinfo in the topic.edd from:
    General rule: (prodname), (vrmlist), (brand | series | platform | prognum | featnum | component)*
    to:
    General rule: (brand | series | platform | component)*
    When I import the element definition to the template everything is okay.
    When I insert the elements metadata, prodinfo, brand, series, platform and component into a topic I get the XML Parser Message that the element brand is not valid for the content model (prodname,vrmlist, ((brand|series|platform|prognum|featnum|component))*).
    When I delete the element brand in the topic I get the XML Parser Message that the element series is not valid for the content model (prodname,vrmlist, ((brand|series|platform|prognum|featnum|component))*).
    I change the element prodinfo in the topic.edd to:
    General rule: (brand)?, (series)?, (platform)?, (component)?
    ...and get the same Parser Message.
    I do not understand that. Is not it allowed to change the EDD this way without changing the DTD?

    Hi Nina...<br /><br />In general, the EDD and DTD need to sync up. You can remove elements from an EDD element definition's general rule, as long as the resulting elements are still valid to the DTD. But if changing a general rule creates an invalid structure, you'll need to also change the DTD to allow the revised structure.<br /><br />With DITA, it is common to remove inline elements from block-level elements. For example, you might want to remove the <msgblock>, <msgnum>, and <msgph> elements from the general rule of the <p> element .. this can be done easily in the EDD and the resulting structure remains valid with the DTD.<br /><br />However, what you're doing leaves the <brand> element as a child of <prodinfo> .. which is invalid. You'll get these errors when saving a file, since this is when the file is validated against the DTD.<br /><br />I do not recommend modifying the structure in such a way that requires you to modify the DTD. If you really need to do this, then you should consider making a specialization to support your revised model.<br /><br />I hope this helps.<br /><br />Cheers and Happy New Year!<br /><br />...scott

  • BexGetData over data elements that are not drilled down

    Hi,
    I create a query in the query designer open the same in the analyzer. I perform navigations on the same and convert the worksheet to formula.
    Now the BexGetData formula contains references only to the items that have been drilled down in the rows or columns. Is it possible to reference the data elements in the free characteristics section (which have not been drilled down in the workbook before i convert to formula).
    Basically I am trying to avoid having to retrieve a large amount of information if I need to build a formula based on many data elements.

    Well you cannot as the BexGetData  works with the Analysis grid and its cells which are displayed in the result areas (rows and columns) and doesnt refer to Free chars
    PS-
    To avoid formula errors being displayed when you open the workbook in formula mode, configure the data provider for the analysis grid such that the results are displayed offline. This allows you to display the data in your result set without the need to connect to the server.

    hi friends,
    i tried running payroll for uae legislation in test instance.when i tried to attache the element in the elemnt entry screen,i m getting an error ,"query caused no records to be retrieved". Below i have mentioned the step by step activities i done,
    1. BG Creation.
    2. System Profiles.
    3. Element basic Salary created.
    4. Slary BAsis created and linked the element.
    5. Payroll Description ceated(As its trial in vision instance i have not created payment methods).
    6.element link created to the element, linked to payroll and salarybasis.
    (The above setups were created as on date 01jan2005 as date tracked)
    7. employee created.
    8. assignment details updated(payroll, salarybasis attached) based on daj as 01jan2009.
    9. I tied linking the element to the employee via element entry.
    when i tried that i am getting that error as,"query caused no records to be retrieved".
    i have not created a LE and not linked the stauaary informations in assignment screen.
    Please share me your valuable suggestions to overcome this issues.
    Note: As its vision i had run International HRMS setup conc program before creating elements, because when i tried creation of elements , i did not get the LOV for element classifications, only one list balance initialaisation was there, after running that concurrremt request,. that list has been eneblen, please share me your ideaws.

    hi experts,
    now i have included both the variables in one text element..
    ...in a loop i m using ...              PERFORM write_form USING 'SERIAL_NO' 'SRN_NO'.
    now the issue is if in a table i have two items ...then loop will run two times....and the form will be called twice....
    thats how it works usually....
    but in my case only the last record is displaying .....first record is ...i think is overwitten by the 2nd record........dont know .....
    please help me out......

  • ADF BC Attribute with VC of CONTAINS Ignores Choice List on the LOV

    JDev 11g PS 1.
    Objects:
    - A view criteria with attribute defined as CONTAINS (literal)
    - An LOV on that attribute with a default list type UI hint of Choice List
    - ADF Faces query-table based in the VC
    Problem: query-table ignores the Choice List and renders an Input Text.
    Clue: Changing the operator to EQUALS causes the expected Choice List to be rendered in ADF BC.
    If this is documented in the online help or in this forum, it is escaping me.
    Anyone know the best workaround? Set the VC using EQUALS and switch it to CONTAINS in buildWhereClause() maybe?

    Thanks for the fast reply and for the bug entry. Unfortunately stopping work is not an option. We've come up with a solution using a query listener that replaces EQUALS with CONTAINS before the query and resets it to EQUALS after the query (otherwise the component draws the text item after the query).
    Maybe you can think of another solution to our requirement: display a single master record in the results table for a master-detail database view. For example, in an altered Oracle HR world, each DEPARTMENTS record is associated with multiple LOCATIONS records (through a DEPT_LOC table). A database view, DEPT_LOC_VW, based on that table also contains the location description and department description.
    Users want to select and then edit (on another page) a department by querying by location. If we represent DEPT_LOC_VW in the query-table component, we see multiple result rows for a single department and that is unnecessary confusion for the purpose of editing a single department.
    So we have created an alternative database view, DEPT_VW, based on DEPARTMENTS only, with an additional column -- LOC_LIST -- based on a function that returns a delimited list of all location codes for that department. This way, the user sees only one department record in the results table (although we lose the location description in the results -- not an issue) and is still able to query based on location.
    A LOCATIONS_VW view contains the location code surrounded with the delimiiter. The DeptVw view attribute LocList contains an LOV based on that database view.
    We want the view criteria to create a query condition:
