Back button doesn't work in https google search

Google search seems to have made https mandatory when logged in. This breaks history and the behaviour of the back button from the results page back to the google search results page. I think that this is because google, upon clicking on a result link, redirects to the results page via an intermediary, obfuscated url, which causes the back button to also redirect back to the result page. This is exactly the same problem as described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/892406?e=es&as=aaq for which there is no solution, as google doesn't allow us to disable https anymore. BTW, this behaviour is not replicted on chrome, i.e., back button works correctly in spite of the intermediate redirecting page.

Hi,
You can try the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/?src=search NoScript] add-on which may help.

  • Back Button Doesn't Work on Some Websites

How come my Back Button Doesn't Work on Some Websites? It just keeps redisplaying the same page over and over. Example:
    http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/front

Back button behaviour can be pretty wierd. I usually use the keyboard combination, but for some reason it doesn't work on PDF's and I have to end up using the graphical back button.
There are some websites out there that for some reason or another break the Back button's behaviour. Sometimes I have to hold down the mouse button to get the back button menu in order to work around that problem.
In another case there was this page in Amazon that wouldn't allow me to go back to. Everytime I went to that page the browser to automatically kick me to the next page. I had to disable javascript to work around that problem.

  • The back button doesn't work for some websites after downloading version 4.0

I recently downloaded firefox version 4.0. Upon downloading it I had a few issues occur with my browser. One issue was that all of my bookmarks that were on my toolbar disappeared. Also, when I visit a website and am browsing through it, if I want to go back to a previous page the back button doesn't work properly. Instead of sending me back to the previous page I was viewing it sends me all the way back to the home page or wherever I started on that website. This problem basically affects all websites that I visit. I would like to uninstall the new version of firefox and just go back to my old one if that's possible? Thanks

To respond to your comments first of all, the Bookmarks toolbar has been removed in Firefox 4.0
The back button should work as it normally does, but you can also right click it and select it from the list.
To revert to a previous version of Firefox, download v3.6.16 from here: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.16]
Then uninstall Mozilla Firefox 4.0 choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc.
Finally run the Firefox installation file you downloaded earlier.

  • Back button doesn't work in Flash Pro CS6 Simulator (ADL)

Hi everyone. I'm testing Flash Pro CS6, and I've noticed the Back button is not detected in my Android app when testing in ADL (Control / Test movie / In ADL Mobile).
When I try to select the option Device / Back (Ctrl+B) in ADL, it just doesn't do anything (I have a KEY_DOWN event listener which looks for the keycode Keyboard.BACK). In a real Android device, it works, but not in the "test movie" window (ADL). In CS5.5, the Back button always worked in ADL.
Also, in the new Simulator window which comes up when "testing movie", there are "Menu", "Back" and "Search" buttons for easier access. Well, that Back button doesn't do anything, either.
    Does anyone know what's happening?
BTW, I don't find the "Simulator" window too useful for my purposes. How can I disable it, so it doesn't automatically come up?
    Thanks!
Edit: Well, it seems the KEY_DOWN event listener doesn't work for any key, not only the Back button.

    WHOWWW...
    suitable for Flash Player 11.6
Back that down to as low a version as possible... 10 or so if possible.
My advice.... never... ever target the latest version of plugin... most users will NOT have that plugin installed.
Back it down and if that doesn't work, post a link to the actual Web page.
    Best wishes,

  • Razer DeathAdder Mouse back button doesn't work

I got the new Air (Intel i5 1.3Ghz) and it came with OSX 10.8. Right now it is updated to 10.8.4.
I connected my Razer DeathAdder 3.5G mouse and the back button does not work. I downloaded the correct driver from Razer and I tried to customize it but it only allows me to set the back button as "button 4" and the forward button as "button 5." According to the Razer website FAQ, these settings are recognized on windows as back/forward and that if you want to use these buttons on OSX, you must set the "button 4" as back. It reccomends that I go into the System Preference > Mouse and change the settings.
Unfortunatly in the Mouse settings, there is only Tracking Speed, Double-Click Speed, Scrolling Speed, and Primary Mouse Button.
Does anybody have ANY idea how I can get the two buttons to do back and forward? At the moment, both back and forward buttons just open links in a new tab.
    Cheers

I just figured it out.  You need to download Synapse software from
    Razer Support
then you configure the buttons with keyboard assignments as follows:
    Select button 4.   Keyboard shortcut.Command+[
    Select button 5.   Keyboard shortcut.Command+]
    Hope that helps!

  • The back button doesn't appear after doing a search.

When I move away from a search page, the back button doesn't activate, so I can not return to the search page. Once I go to a non-search page, the back button works normally again. It's only when I first start the browser and move away from a search page that I can't go back to the search page without performing a new search. Basically, I can't reach my initial search via the back button or the recent pages button.

im not sure but maybe this helps. I was opening links with right mouse button at FF3.6 and second option was open in new tab but at FF4 this option at first order. If you use same way as like me. your new tabs are new windows so there is no back option or refresh.

  • Green "Back" Button Doesn't Work in Internet Browser

I am using the integrated Internet browser. If I navigate to the Google home page, do a search and select a page from the search results, pressing the green "previous" button doesn't result in the search results page being displayed. Instead the current page is re-loaded. If I keep pressing the green button, I can eventually get back to the search results (because I am jumping back quicker than the page can re-load).Is there another browser app I can try, or is there any setting i can change? The TV is a KDL32W706B.

  • The browser's back button doesn't work for portlet navigation

I developed a simple portlet that uses webflow navigation to navigate within a
portlet. I made this portlet visible on a portal's home page. When I view my
main portal page, the URL is "http://localhost:7501/samplePortal/index.jsp "
In this page I can see my portlet. When I click on a link inside of the portlet,
it takes me to the page I want. Then, when I click the browser's back button
to go back to the previous page(main portal page), it doesn't work. The URL changes
back to "http://localhost:7501/samplePortal/index.jsp", but portlet itself doesn't
take me to the previous page. Anybody have any ideas? I am guessing it's because
the wfevent is null, but how do I resolve this problem?

    Hi Jay,
I was able to get the back button to work for portals by commenting out the following
    lines in the portal.jsp:
// prevent caching these pages at clients.
    // response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache"); // HTTP 1.1
    // response.setHeader("Pragma", "no-cache"); // HTTP 1.0
    // response.setDateHeader("Expires", 0); // prevents caching at proxy
I also made sure my browser was set to allow the caching of pages.
You are having problems, because we set the response headers to tell the browser
to not cache the portal pages, and the portlet state has not changed back to it's
    original state.

  • Finder 'Back' button doesn't work as expected

Try this in Leopard Finder: In Finder View Options (Command-J), set Applications to always open in icon view, and Documents to always open in list view. Now open a fresh window and click each in the sidebar. They open as expected, one in icon view, and the other in list view. Now click the back button, and you're looking at the folder you just had open half a second earlier, but it's suddenly shifted to a different view - a view you explicitly told the Finder you didn't want this folder to open in. How does this make sense?

  • Back button doesn't work..

The home button on my ipad doesn't work any more, for a while i had to keep pushing it for it to finally go back or exit an application but now doesn't work at all.. any suggestions or should i just head to the apple store?

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank. Be patient, the device will power ON again in the normal way. It is app and data safe!]

  • Back button doesn't work due to multiple history entries for the current page. How can I fix this problem?

This problem started February 2015. I have noticed it mostly while searching ebay. When I hit the back button it did not work. I right clicked the back button and found at least 2 and sometimes up to a dozen duplicate history entries for the current page I am on, meaning I would have to click the back button a dozen times to get to the previous page. I am using Firefox 35.0.1 on a Vista computer. I have not found any fix for the problem after searching the internet for hours. I have seen similar issues with people using IE and some say the duplicate entries are caused by banner ads but still no one has provided a good answer or fix for the problem. Please help.

I will leave further answers to users of ebay. Script or adblockers may ease the problem.

  • Help! Back button doesn't work, new tabs won't take addresses, restart, refresh & an uninstall haven't done any good

Serious issues. My entire browsing history is missing, website addresses don't show in address bar, back and forward buttons don't work, when I type an address in a new tab, it opens in the old tab only. Tried restarting PC, opening Mozilla without add-ons, refreshing and even uninstalling and reinstalling-nothing is working. I tried to download Places Maintenance Add-On and Mozilla will not do it. No error messages-nothing happens. Help!

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

    3. As soon as you see it, press the Home button and keep it pressed until the red slider disappears and the app is forced quit to the Home menu
