Background colour in slide show

I could really do with changing the background colour in the slideshow to white in encore 2 to match the images that i have. Is this possible?

No, just import all your slides and use automate to sequence with the desired transition, or apply a transition between the first two slides, set that transition as default, move to the next slide and press CTRL-D. Repeat for the other slides. This is for Premiere Pro. Other NLE's may have different work flows.

How can I change the background in slideshow from white to black?

I think that the white colored photo templates may have slideshow backgrounds that are white, and black colored photo templates may have slideshow backgrounds that are black. If it is easy enough for you to drag your photos to a black photo template, that would be the first thing I would recommend that you try.
Otherwise, the background color of the Apple slideshow seems to be controlled by a CSS file that is provided by the .Mac server. Remember that the slideshow function is .Mac only...this is because several of the resources are resident on the .Mac servers. If you want to make changes to the color of the background, I understand that it is necessary to override the CSS settings by adding another file after publishing (and everytime you republish). Trouble with making slide show VCD or copying photos to CD

I have saved approximately 200 photos and made a copy of the photos on a cd. The problem is that some of the photos copied horizontally instead of in vertical format.....the photos where all properly showing on the PSE7 organizer...but about 13 copied in the wrong format??? Then I tried making a slide show with music....works fine in the PSE7 program, but when I went to output to VCD, nothing copied....except some files that don't contain the photos?

1. Reduce the image size 1000 x 750 if you are using high resolution images.
2. Use windows supported codec background music for slide show.
3. Update the latest audio/video drivers.

Background colour on pages

Please can you help, I used to set the background colour on my windows so didnt get white glare..and so no visual migraines, but I don't know how to sort the apple..is it not possible to set a background colour that only shows on screen but doesn't send or print with that colour? Many thanks C

You can dim your monitor to comfortable levels in your System Preferences. Particularly on the new LED screens which dim down to extremely low levels.
However I think you are more likely to develop headaches trying to read content with too little lack of contrast than too much. As for coloring the background, readability studies show black and white is by far the best for readabilty.
But then there is no end to the crazy illogical excuses people will come up with for doing the oddball things they do.

Panic Attack: iPhoto 7.1.5 slide show Blank

I recently copied over my entire iPhoto Library from my G5 Quad to my MBP. After opening iPhoto, I selected one of the groups to play a slide show. Everything worked fine. (I used the option to create the slide show using the right arrow button on the lower bottom left of the application.)
I then decided to add music. I then copied my iTunes library over from my Quad to MBP. I then opened iTiunes to make sure everything work and it did.
I then selected the music playlist I wanted to play in the background of my Slide show and started the slide show--problem is now the slide show is blank almost all the time. Maybe every 20 seconds or so a slide comes up. The music plays fine.
I hve tried the following to resolve the problem:
1. Rebooted
2. Repaired disk permissions
3. Unselected music
4. Tried selecting a different picture group
5. Change Transition
6. Unselected "scale photos to fill screen'
Yet I get the same blank slide show. I have to give this slide show tomorrow, so now I am now experiencing a panic attack. Any ideas where to start?

I copy the entire 'Pictures' folder over from another Mac and then put it into the MBP Pictures folder. That is what did not work.
Hw did you point iPhoto at this library.
On the second version, I copied just the iPhoto File (35 GBs) and then drag it into iPhoto on the MBP. After it loaded the pictures (6000 of the), I noticed that the albums on the lower left of iPhoto did not come over in the copy and import.
This is not how you restore a Library. What you’ve done there when you
drag it into iPhoto
is have all the pics and versions treated as individual items. There is no way to import a database into another one like this.
The trick is to copy the Library to the Pictures Folder and then launch iPhoto. That’s it. There’s no importing involved. If you have more than one library then Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'

Changing Slide Show Background Colour

Being a newbie to this forum, I am not sure if this has been asked before, if so I apologise in advance.
I have set my site up using the black background as it is a photography related site and the black lends itself well to the photographs.
Is there a way of changing the parameters of the slide show to change the background colour from white to black ?
Any help appreciated.

In IMovie 11 9.04 my background music loses time when I transfer it to the slide show. How do I correct that?

I have a slide show project which runs about 7:10 minutes. I want to use background music that consists of 2 songs. The first song is 3:11 minutes and the second song is 4:51 minutes. Even when I add transitions and more images, the second song loses duration the moment I transfer it to the slide show. HOw do I adjust that?

Dreamweaver has no built-in provision for this. But you will find jQuery plugins that can do it.

Using downloaded songs for slide show background music

Maybe I am naive, but I just joined iTunes and downloaded some music to use as background for slide shows of family pics. I am using Microsoft Plus! to put the slide shows together. The iTunes songs downloaded in MPEG-4 and the Plus! code will only recognize MP3. I am also concerned that the copyright protection will make the songs not useable for the slide show compilations. Any ideas? Thanks!

In iTUnes you can burn the song to CD then reimport it as a MP3. Goto edit>preferences>advanced tab>Import sub tab, and set it from "AAC" to "MP3" then hit OK
Now burn the songs to CD in itunes. Put the CD back in and hit the "Import" button in the top right corner of itunes

You can't (not in Keynote for iOS). The background color is a function of the template selected when you create the file initially and cannot be altered. the only workaround I know of is to add a graphic file to the slide and position it behind all other content, but this would need to be repeated on any slide you wish to "recolor".

Changing black background on slide show

does anyone know how to change the background on the iWeb slide shows so that the black background is not visible and there is no "picture reflection"? I would prefer the slide show to have the whole picture with no background.

The "Previous to iWeb '08" does not have the option to change the Slideshow background or reflections; it would be necessary to upgrade to iWeb 2.x in iLife'08.

The "Audio Visualization 2D and 3D canvas " part of the audio api slide show is only showing the background part of the 3d image

There seams to be a problem with the Audio Data API slide show on the 10th page (Audio Visualization 2D and 3D <canvas> at http://videos.mozilla.org/serv/blizzard/audio-slideshow/#slide10). or maybe just on my computer. the problem is it only shows the background of the canvas. It still looks like its a moving image but it doesn't show the objects. So haw do i fix this?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Batch colour change for iPhoto slide shows?

My G4 Powerbook is correctly calibrated to produce beautiful, true prints from my Canon 5D. However, when I want to show these shots in a slide show the colour is over-saturated. It looks terrible. My projector is a Mitsubishi HC 1100. No controls on the projector will allow de-saturating. I have tried other types and brands with same result (BenQ and Panasonic).
I experimented by de-saturating a shot in PS by 20%. It now looks fine on the projector screen but washed out on the PBook.
Is there a way to de-saturate my slide show of 400 shots in iPhoto?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. With the projector connected launch ColorSync Utility (located in your Applications/Utilities folder) and see if it's recognized and there's any way to change the color profile it uses. You can do that for printers with their drivers so it may be so with the projector.
I believe GraphicConverter and do a batch desaturate but you'll have to export those files out of iPhoto to a folder before running GC.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Making long background slide show

I have a need for a long background "show". Specifically, 7 CD's worth of mood music (think yoga) with nature shots. Prefer burning to play in DVD player, but realize it maybe too much music for a DVD, so a slide show running with iTunes playlist in background is possible but using laptop is not optimal.
The challenge is that I only need a few photos (they will repeat) but lots of songs. Is there a way to create a slide show (or movie) several hours long that is playable on DVD player?

Thanks so far. I think I am almost there.
ok so I selected a bunch of photos in iPhoto, clicked "slideshow" and then "send to DVD".
iDVD opened up and now what? it opened up to a generic project "My Great DVD" which i renamed, but not being a veteran of iLife, I am not sure what is next. Do I add anything? This is a simple background slideshow to put into a DVD player and let it go and go until removed. I did not care for a polished menu structure. In fact I was hoping for a "stick it in the player and auto start" product.
