Background Jobs with Dynamic Dates

I am looking for how to run a job in the background on a Daily basis where the data time range is always Yesterday - specifically, I want to run a Notification report daily to see the previous day's notifications.
I have established a Variant with the Dynamic Dates to be "Current Date - 1 days", and schedule it to run in the background Daily. The report runs daily as scheduled, but the dates are not changing (i.e. it always runs the report for the same date).

Dear Richard,
It appears that the date that you generated by "Current Date - 1" is not used for running notification report or not passed from variant.
You can actually code the same in your program.
I suggest you to expecute the report in SE38 with debugging by putting a break-point.
v_date = sy-datum - 1.
v_date should be used for notification report. (not sy-datum)

Hi,
You can do this to get desired results:
Write a small new program that calls the program that you need to run daily by using submit .
The new program can give input of current date to the called program.
Now you can schedule the new program as a daily batch job.

Defining variant for report for job with dynamic date Gui 6.40 patch 21

The system does not take over my choice for the dynamic date.
I choose in the variant-attirubute-screen for a certain parameter: "type selection variable": D and then in the column "name of the variable" > I choose via F4: current date +/- days. OK and then I fill in 1 or 1- or whatever. The system however does only react with the message "Upper date of the interval is > than upper date". It does not matteer what I choose.
In the initialization I do not have any initialization of that parameter.
I connot save the variant.

Background jobs with IMPORTING data from memory

Hi there, I am using FM's JOB_OPEN, SUBMIT job to Background and JOB_CLOSE to create a job in Background. I am EXPORTING two transparent tables to memory before submitting the job, in the submitted job i IMPORTING the two tables, but no data comes back. The structure of the 2 transparent table is exactly the same in both programs. If i omit the 'VIA JOB' parameter and debug the submitted program it works fine...please tel me what am i doing wrong or any info will help.
Code is as follows:

Example: Task Name: Zprg1 > each month of "18", and same I want to repeat after 3 Days means on "22", then want to repeat after 5 days means on "28"

1. Schedule the Job Zprg1 on the 18th of this month and enter a mothly period:
2. copy this job to new name Zprg1_plus3 and repeate the action of point 1 with the date 22.04.2015.
3. copy this job to new name Zprg1_plus5 and repeate the action of point 1 with the date 28.04.2015.
You will get thre jobs running every month on 18. 22. and 28.

Background Job Still Running - Data Can Be Displayed Only Msg Populated in Maintain Versions (OKEQ) Screen

Hi,
I try to create 2013 FY in "Setting for Each FY" in OKEQ - Maintain Versions unfortunately I have created Null FY, try to delete Null FY on the time it will ask Job schedule, I have cancelled the job & reopen Maintain Versions (OKEQ) screen on the time system populated the msg "Background Job still running - Data can be displayed only"
In Settings for Each FY screen there is no New Entries button, all FY are blocked status, changes was not allowed.
How can I resolve it.

Yes you are correct, on the time of deletion it will ask Background Job Process, for immediate deletion must & should select "NO".
While "Settings for Each FY" screen populates message "Background Job Still Running - Data Can Be Displayed Only" open screen in display mode enter the command "=KILL" in command bar press enter, then you will allow to changes get New Entries button also.
Problem is solved

How to use a queue with dynamic data

When using a collector I have found that it significantly slows down my loop times. I am using LabView7.1 on a Dell PC with Windows XP. If I use a queue with dynamic data do you think that will require less of my processor and allow for faster loop speeds?
I have created a queue using dynamic data in one loop and I want to retrieve all available samples each iteration in a slower loop. If I use the flush queue I get a 1d array of dynamic data. What is the best way to convert the 1d array of dynamic data so that the array of dynamic data is consolidated back into a single dynamic data type? Any help would be much appreciated.

You could for instance wire the array to an auto-indexed for loop. I attach an example. I assume you wish to concatenate the arrays a singel waveform.

JOB_CLOSE
in JOB_SUBMIT function module u can pass to start the job immediately in export parameters PRIPARAMS structure field name PRIMM which has to be set to 'X' to start immediately.

JasperException, calling tag with dynamic data

Hello
I want to call a tag which I have written with dynamic data.
I can call the tag like this, and it works fine
<cm:getCalendar year = "2" week = "51" />But I don't want the input to be hard coded.
Therefor I have tried to insert GET data to the tag like this
<cm:getCalendar year = "<%= request.getParameter("year")%>
" week = "<%= request.getParameter("week")%>" />Or like this
<cm:getCalendar year = "%{#request.yearNr}" week = "%{#request.weekNr}" />The %{#request.yearNr} should be struts 2 specific I think.
In both this cases I get this exception
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /calendar.jsp(25,0) According to TLD or
attribute directive in tag file, attribute week does not accept any expressions
Is there a way which I could insert data dynamic to my own tag?

Connect an 1-D array of cluster of 3 elements with dynamic data

hi everybody.
I am trying to wire an 1-D array which consists of a cluster of 3 elements with dynamic data. The error that appears says that I'm trying to "connect two terminals of different types". Actually, what I want to do is write to a file the FFT data produced by the Spectral Measurements vi. In order to write to a file, I am using the Write to Measurement File vi, but I don't know if this is the right way to do this. Has anyone any idea about this problem, because I'm out of ideas....

ok! This works really good! thanks a lot! now i'm facing an other problem...The output file does not contain the right data. I want to collect the FFT (frequency vs. amplitude) of a time signal and it gives me the record length and the sampling rate instead.
For example, if I use a sampling rate of 300 ksamples/sec and a record length of 1000 sampling points, the file to be created has one column containing the record length e.g.
0
1
2
3
498
499
and on more column containing almost zero values and the value of the sample rate. Do you have any idea why this is happening?

SSRS 05 snapshot with dynamic date parameter

I want to use snapshot for a SSRS 05 report due to high volume of report data. This report uses 2 date parameter which will keep changing every month ( mmyyyy) format. I read many blogs but it seems I can not have snapshot report in dynamic date situation.
Can someone please suggest if there is any workaround to use snapshot with dynamic date parameter . The report server version is 2005.

In Reporting Services, the snapshot is a report that contains layout information and data that is retrieved at a specific point in time. There’s a couple of requirements in order to use a snapshot:
Stored credentials for the data source.
Defaults for all Parameters.
Based on my research, we can use snapshot with dynamic date parameter. When we select 'Render this report from a report execution snapshot’ with a schedule and Apply in Execution tab, a snapshot is created and subsequently refreshed on a schedule. When we
render the report at a time, the report would be rendered with the latest snapshot layout information and data, then use the current parameter value to filter the snapshot report data. In this way, the current data would be different from the snapshot report
based on the current parameter values, but we can still use snapshot with dynamic date parameter.

Scheduling a background Job with gaps in dates

Hi Experts,
I am having a requirement : A background job has to be scheduled for running a program every 15 minutes and for every month.But this job should not run from date 10th to 15th of every month.For example,In july month Job should start run from 01.07.2014 to 31.07.2014 excluding 10.07.2014 to 15.07.2014.
Can we achieve this without a custom program and using SM36?

is it possible to define a factory calendar to you in the system, if you can define one then you can define the 10-15 the of every month as holiday.
We can select the factory calendar above defined in the job. This can be found by clicking on the restrictions button in the start condition screen.
in that start date restrictions, you can find 5 options in those you can pick the do not execute the periodic job on sunday and holidays.
but this will effect the sundays which are falling in 1-10 th & 15-31st of each month, will that be OK ?
if you do not want to try out the above all steps, then you can simply create 2 job running for each month
1st one for 1-10th of every month.
2nd one for 16th to end date.
Let us know in case of any concerns on the same.

Background Job with User Name

I am trying to submit report program in background job. I want to submit it with specific user name so I am submitting with user name as 'ABC' as below
data: user type sy-uname.
user = 'ABC'.
SUBMIT z_program AND RETURN
             WITH matnr = matnr
             WITH werks = werks
             USER user
             VIA JOB jobname
             NUMBER jobcount
But it creates job with current user(sy-uname) running the program and not 'ABC'. How I can change it for specified user?

Of course the user should be the one existing in the system. I guess there is no such ABC. Find the one which exists (use i.e. su01).

Background job not updating data for some steps of program

We have created a custom program and submitting the standard program RPRCCC_READ_KR1025
which is used for conversion of AMEX credit card files.
Since this program can update data for 1 company id at a time,we have created a background job
for that program with 10 steps and 10 variants of data related to 10 different company codes.
when this job is executed it is not updating data for all the 10 files , sometimes it updates 5,7,etc...
If we execute the other files which didnt update in job manually they are getting updated.
All the files executed with that program can be seen in PRTA transaction.

Edit: Solved.
Since the standard program updates the database every time with commit work
there should be some time until the next database update,so we can use wait command
after the submit statement which will do the trick.
